Habit

Summary:

Seowon is introduced to the newly formed Performing Arts Circle by his friend Junseo to pursue his hobby and interest in dance during his University studies. There he meets Jo Gyehyeon. A kind and sweet 2nd Year with a beautiful singing voice, who shares his love for performing, and watching films/movies.

As the two bond over shared interest, building a relation that seems more intimate than just ‘friends’, Seowon learns the truth about Gyehyeon’s love life…

“I know he crashes at Heonie-hyung’s sometimes… Well, we don’t know what the reason is but hyung thinks it has to do with his boyfriend.”

Chapter 1: A Familiar Voice

Chapter Text

His hand cuts through the air. Swiftly, but with strength, Seowon moves along to every beat almost subconsciously and enjoys the rhythm that rang throughout the room. He cleanly finishes the choreography, smiling in satisfaction. He lets out a sigh before collapsing across the floor with his hair stuck to the sides of his face.

As he lay there, faintly but still audible, the sound of a piano echoed into his room. His body felt stuck to the floor, and despite a couple attempts, he gives up on seeing where it could be from. Instead he listens. He listens from the floor, the melody soothing and honestly a little emotional. And then, a voice.

‘Try to take a deep breath
So both sides of your chest tingle…’

A really pretty one in fact, followed the piano into the room. Though the lyrics were faint, he recognised the song. Maybe it’s a famous artist, he thought to himself, though honestly, he was too tired to try and figure out the song name. He closed his eyes and swayed slightly on the floor, his mind wanting to do a small freestyle but settled to just singing along in his head.

‘The words “it’s okay”,
Are only empty words of comfort… ’

The room filled with silence. The kind of silence that felt like... loneliness. Seowon turns his head toward the wall. What happened? Why did they stop playing? His mind wandered in concern and slight curiosity as he debated whether or not he should go to the room himself. But as soon as he sat up, a loud bang of a door closing, followed by slow footsteps answered his questions. He hurriedly approached the door in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the stranger, but all he saw was a tall man with dark brown hair, too far for him to say or do anything.
