Chapter Text
Darkness.
It was all he could see.
Black.
One of the only two colors that has ever defined an Addams.
And black is often a color of misery. Sorrow. Death.
Darkness is black, of course.
That’s what Pugsley Addams saw just moments ago.
Addams was sitting alone once more. With Slurp, his only friend, gone, he had no one to talk to. No one to have as company. Well, he was pretty sure Eugene didn’t see him as a friend either. And he hated that. Because he didn’t just see Ottinger as a friend, as a best friend, hell—not even an acquaintance. The beekeeper was quite special to the Addams boy. Over time..the boy had grown some foreign feelings for the other.
Feelings that made his heart flutter.
Feelings that made his stomach jump.
Others call it a ‘crush’.
He tried to deny the feelings at first—maybe it was just something different. Maybe it was the pure excitement of finally managing to make a friend. But the more you hide something, the more it grows, and grows, and grows until eventually—you are unable to hide it anymore. Pugsley only realized and accepted his feelings recently.
And he was sure it was unrequited.
Nature was lovely. Green, but not his color. Of course, no other color could ever fit an Addams. You’d never find one wearing something in any other color other than black and white.
When Pugsley met Eugene and started to hang out with him, talk to him, get to know him, the beekeeper seemed to have passed on interests to the other boy. Eugene liked nature. He found comfort in it. It was practically his home with all the bugs and insects. Over time, Pugsley found calm in nature too.
Eugene told him that he’d always go outside whenever he felt overwhelmed or stressed. Even if it meant getting fresh air. It helped. A lot. Pugsley tried this one time. And surprisingly..it worked.
Right now, a lot was on his mind.
So, he surrendered himself to nature once more.
Pugsley ditched the gala.
He had nothing to do except for admiring Ottinger’s beautiful outfit that he wore to the event.
He couldn’t take his eyes off him.
Addams sat on a concrete platform with three tall, uncanny statues.
That’s when he saw three moths flying towards him. He knew them. From the conversation Eugene and Wednesday had earlier. Apparently they were called ‘New England Corpse Moths’. But the rest? He didn’t pay much attention to it. But he did know these moths were connected to his zombie.
Though he thought nothing of it. Cool, new snacks. Eugene had released them for a reason, so he would be sure the beekeeper wouldn’t mind.
He let a moth land on his finger.
Fascinating,
He thought.
Though Addams wasn’t alone.
From behind the statue, appeared what seemed to be his former zombie-friend Slurp in a red and black jester costume and a mask. He seemed to have become human again. The Addams boy looked up at him.
“Hello, old friend.”
The man spoke.
Pugsley looked at him with wide eyes. At first, he didn’t know him. But the realization hit.
“Slurp? Is that you?”
He asked, as the man took off his mask and threw it to the ground. He took a step closer, approaching the boy,
“Pugsley,”
He leaned down.
“I hate to ask, but… I need your help.”
Slurp smiled faintly at first, but it seemed expressionless. That’s when Pugsley suspected something was terribly wrong. His smile dropped completely.
Then, a cloth was forcibly placed over his mouth, scaring the boy. He tried to resist, but that’s when the drowsiness hit him. Great, he was being sedated and possibly kidnapped by his former zombie-friend.
The last thing he saw was Slurp’s newly regenerated face. He seemed so.. calm. It was weird.
That’s when the darkness came.
The black.
The reminder that you’re about to meet your terrible fate.
Death.

Chapter Text
Eugene Ottinger had never felt so panicked and overwhelmed before.
It had never been because of a person.
Pugsley Addams, to be more clear.
What in the world had the boy done to go missing?
Eugene wasn’t really his friend. Well, Pugsley thought he was. He felt bad. He didn’t know he was pushing the Addams boy away like that. He had been so caught up with experiencing what it feels like to actually be seen for once, with finding new friends, with being semi-popular, with being related to events including the one and only Wednesday Addams that he hadn’t even realized he was being so rude to the boy.
That’s one way to treat your savior’s brother.
And if anything, Eugene really hated himself for it. He felt really, really terrible.
Now, he was running full-speed in the woods with Wednesday, filled with so much adrenaline he didn’t even stop once to take a breath.
Pugsley Addams was all he could possibly care about right now. He didn’t know why he cared so much about a boy he practically pushed away for an entire year.
But he couldn’t stand the thought of losing him.
And he really didn’t know why.
That’s when it started. When he felt.
What was he feeling?
..Okay, well maybe Ottinger had been admiring the boy from a distance. Maybe too much that he thought it counted as actually spending time with him. Half the day was dedicated to admiring the boy, and the other was dedicated to his new friends and insects. Slip the Hummers’ shed into there, too.
He felt weird for acting like that.
But feelings and boys aren’t the problem right now.
Only one particular boy is.
When they reached the scene where Pugsley had supposedly been kidnapped by Issac, they were too late.
Issac was not there.
Pugsley is gone.
And hopefully not permanently.
Still in his gala wear, Eugene shone his flashlight over the place where Pugsley had been sitting.
Gods, why didn’t they come here sooner?
Then maybe he could’ve saved Pugsley in time.
Maybe he wouldn’t be missing.
Maybe he wouldn’t be on the verge of death.
Ottinger’s heart beat faster at the sight of the empty platform.
All that was left is the moth, perched on top of the cloth Issac used to sedate Pugsley.
He turned to look at Wednesday. She looked back.
He didn’t know it was happening, but his eyes were packed with tears ready to spill. But he wasn’t going to let it happen. Not in front of his sister. The lump in his throat grew bigger, and any moment, he was about to break down.
They both returned to the castle, not speaking a single word.
Not even halfway to the school, the tears that were jailed in his eyes finally escaped. A few quiet sobs escaped him, but he refrained from breaking down on the spot. He was sure Wednesday noticed. He saw her glance at him, but she didn’t say anything until they got to school.
“Eugene,”
Wednesday called out, just as he was about to run off to Caliban Hall.
He turned to face her, though he didn’t bother to wipe the tears that wet his face. The glasses seemed to cover it up though.
“We’ll find and save Pugsley. In one piece.”
She reassured him, still keeping her cold and firm tone.
“I don’t know what kind of.. romantic involvement you have with my brother. But I know your attentiveness to him tells me something.”
With that, the older Addams took her leave.
Eugene finally took his glasses off to wipe his face in an attempt to get rid of the wet on his cheek. Still, the tears kept coming more than ever as he walked into Caliban Hall.
What if he never returned?
That means Eugene could never apologize.
He could never tell him he actually cared.
That he actually.. loved.
He stood there, really thinking about giving up.
“Eugene?”
Ajax found him in the middle of the hallway.
He approached the beekeeper.
“Do you.. wanna go back to the dorm and discuss it there?”
He nodded.
. . .
Ajax listened.
Eugene didn’t sleep that night.
—————
Pugsley woke up in a house.
There was a metal shackle with chains attached to it, and a cloth tied tightly over his mouth as a gag. His hands were tied, and he couldn’t move. He was sitting in a chair in front of a dining table. Then, he heard Slurp approach from behind.
“It’s not very fun.. to be tied up and treated like a pet. Is it?”
He aggressively pulled down the cloth gag from Pugsley’s mouth, telling him that he clearly won’t be showing mercy for all the times he’s been electrocuted by Addams in the shed from times when he was a zombie.
He leaned down to grab a mystery meat sandwich on the table.
“‘Mystery meat sandwich! Your favorite!’”
He mocked him, grinning from ear to ear.
Slurp shoved the sandwich into Pugsley’s mouth while Pugsley struggled through muffled groans.
“Conserve your energy. You’re gonna need it.”
He patted his shoulder and walked away toward.. a woman.
Pugsley spit the sandwich out. He could hear the two conversing behind his back. And he had no idea who this woman was.
But that’s when he took things into realization.
He felt as if the bullies were back.
It was scary. Having the gag over his mouth. It reminded him of being shoved into a locker as well as having an apple shoved into his mouth.
He couldn’t scream. He couldn’t yell. He couldn’t talk.
He was hopeless.
Useless.
His breathing began to quicken just a bit, as well as his heart beating at a faster rate. He tried to stay calm, and he listened to what Slurp and the woman were talking about.
“I wish I was in at least one of these pictures.”
The woman said.
“I never understood your desire for a Normie life. But… knowing what Stonehurst did to you in that lab…”
“Neither of us got the end that we deserved.”
“That changes tonight.”
Just as he thought the conversation was over, he heard the woman speak something in a quieter tone.
“Promise me, no matter what happens, you’ll do it. What we discussed. I need your word.”
Pugsley has no idea what ‘it’ is. He was already lost and confused from the beginning. Everything escalated so fast he never got time to process what was happening at the time.
For a short time, neither of them said anything. That’s when another man burst through the door.
It was none other than Tyler Galpin.
The Hyde.
The monster that always haunted Eugene’s dreams. Turning them into nightmares.
“I made tracks about twenty miles north and dropped Pugsley’s costume, then made an anonymous tip like you said.”
Addams turned to look at him, and it certainly seems he did take the form of a Hyde as he was only wearing a brown coat but no shirt. Slurp approached Tyler with haste, commenting on his completed task.
“Good, huh? That’ll keep the cops off our trail.”
He swung an arm around Tyler’s neck and over his shoulder, both the men now facing the woman.
All three approached the table and Pugsley, who was still tied up.
“Now, it’s time to position your old flame onto the board.”
Slurp patted the Hyde’s back like he was an old friend, as well as talking to him like one.
“Wednesday will know she’s being played.”
“Yeah, an Addams… would never sacrifice one of their own. Not even a pawn.”
Slurp leaned down once more to look Pugsley in the eyes.
He was scared.
A feeling he never thought he’d admit since the days in public school.
Since the days he was weak.
The woman approached him on the other side, and laid a gentle hand on his other shoulder. Then she combed through his hair as if he were her own child.
“And that emotional weakness.. will be our checkmate.”
Notes:
Yeah, Eugene had a breakdown that night and practically regretted everything he did
sigh our poor beekeeper ☹️
Chapter 3
Summary:
Back at the dorm, Eugene was panicking and panicking. Even with his bugs for comfort, they seemed to do him no good. With Wednesday gone too, he’d also risk both of the Addams’ being gone forever. Who knows what kind of power Isaac held. Especially when he could be working with Tyler Galpin. Gods, that guy gave him the chills. He hated his face. His resemblance with his Hyde form was visible, and whenever he saw his face, he could imagine it morphing into the face of the Hyde.
He knew Wednesday was going after Isaac to save Pugsley.
Wait.
Save Pugsley.
Without him.
If Eugene went to save Pugsley, he could prove how much he cared for him.
He should’ve gone.
He needs to go.
Notes:
This one’s a long one. Mostly plot and such, as well as the last episode repeated but written and Eugene inserted into it and stuff. I practically spent 6 hours writing this I think, I hope this makes up for my absence!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Eugene definitely did not have a good sleep. In fact, he only slept (or had a nap) for about an hour. And today was one of the days the Nevermore students were going home. Great. Was he going to go home with Pugsley missing? The thought would definitely stick to him like honey. He didn’t want to think about it. He was worried. He couldn’t imagine the things that could happen with Pugsley missing.
He had no choice but to pack his things.
He readied the boxes, as well as his bug containers, when Wednesday walked in.
“You. We’re waking the dead again. How long until your corpse moths are airborne?”
He wasn’t expecting Wednesday to visit.
He sighed.
“Unfortunately, they’re uh- permanently grounded. Corpse moths.. only have a 36-hour lifecycle.”
He knew Wednesday could tell he didn’t sleep.
He looked down at his bugs, then up at Wednesday again.
“Wednesday-I’m sorry. I’m really, really sorry. Pugsley wanted to be my friend and I—I blew him off. Maybe if I’d been nicer, he wouldn’t have felt the need to—become BFF’s with a zombie. And—and now all of this has gone haywire because I let him resurrect that thing!”
He remembered when he and Pugsley first met. He remembered the words he said, the words he’d do whatever it takes to take them all back.
‘Look, I owe your sister a lot, which is why I agreed to be your roommate. Let’s see how this pans out first, okay?’
He always replayed it in his head ever since Pugsley’s absence.
He wished he was nicer.
“I am my brother’s keeper. I simply should have caged him for his own protection. If you think you caused this, you are wrong.”
…
“..I’m heading to the Hummer shed. I have to hibernate my bees early.”
Eugene didn’t want to talk about the missing boy anymore. It brought him pain, and he’d just remembered to hibernate his bees. But being in the shed also reminded him of Addams. He leaned down to pick up his bee veil, and asked Wednesday if she wanted to come. But as he looked up, she was gone.
-
When Eugene got to the shed, he turned on some music and began to put some jars of honey in a crate. It was.. a choice. The song was ‘Miss You’ by The Rapture. He hated to admit he did miss Pugsley.
He missed his stupid smile.
His cold touch.
His soulless eyes that only lit up whenever Eugene was around.
It made him sick to his stomach.
The shed made him remember the times when the zombie was still here. The one thing that brought the two together. They’d always visit it to check on the zombie. He missed doing that, even if he hated the zombie terribly. The zombie was one of the only things that brought a smile to Pugsley’s face, as well as the light in his eyes. And he especially loved visiting the shed with Eugene.
He was barely five jars in when he turned around and was shoved into the wall of the shed, a hand over his mouth. To his horror, he saw Slurp standing right in front of him, the light peeking through the cracks of the wooden walls shining on his pale face.
He leaned in closer, and brought his other hand up, signaling him to keep quiet.
Eugene did not want to have another near death experience.
At least let him be the one to save Pugsley before he dies.
At least let him say I love you.
-
To Ottinger’s luck, he was spared. He was given a black box and told to give it to Wednesday. He was not going to let this situation go under wraps. He went to find Wednesday, hoping she’d do something. He sprinted through the halls, box in hand, until he reached the principal's office where the second Addams was.
“I went out to the Hummers shed, Slurp was there, except he looks totally human now! He told me to give you this.”
His voice was shaky as he took breaths in between. He handed the box to Wednesday, and began to speak again.
“Said if I breathe a word to anyone else, he’d come for me.”
And he did not want that to happen.
He did not want to die.
He did not want to die not knowing if Pugsley was safe or not.
Eugene pulled out his inhaler, realizing he was breathing too fast.
“Wednesday.. I’m scared.”
“Go back to your dorm. Lock the door. Now.”
Eugene ran as fast as he could.
-
At midnight, Pugsley was dragged along by who he knows as Issac now, in the middle of the woods. He didn’t know where they were going, but it was definitely going to include Wednesday in it. He was pulled around, barely able to keep up which made Issac pull harder in order for him to catch up faster. The shackle around his neck made it sore, and the pain that soared through him was starting to get unbearable even though pain was his thing.
That’s when they stopped and Pugsley saw Wednesday.
He was relieved, hoping he would be saved by his older sister.
Though it reminded him of the times where he was hopeless and couldn’t fight back, relying on his sister to defend him.
“Tyler warned me you were formidable. And now I’ve witnessed the havoc you can wreak.”
“Give me my brother, crawl back into your hole, and stay dead this time. I know what you did to my father.”
Pugsley had no idea what Wednesday was talking about, referring to their father. But knowing Isaac had something to do with it, it was sure to be bad.
“Yet I’m the one who died! Thanks to him and your dear mother.” “Yet I’m the one who died! Thanks to him and your dear mother.”
Pugsley swore he could see Thing up on a nearby tree, propped with a crossbow. Well of course Wednesday wouldn’t come unarmed.
“Why don’t you let your brother pay for their mistakes, and we’ll call it even?”
“You don’t have the machine. With Willow Hill and Iago Tower destroyed, it would take months to rebuild. By the time you did, it would be too late to save your sister.”
That’s when a flying arrow came out of nowhere. Thing had pulled the trigger in an attempt to harm Issac. But unfortunately, he saved himself by pulling his right hand up to cover his face. The arrow went through the glove, but Issac looked unharmed.
He sighed and chuckled, taking a moment to analyze the arrow and his hand.
“I.. I applaud the effort. You keep me talking while your faithful right hand takes his shot.”
Pugsley saw Tyler appear from behind a tree, and grab Thing off the branch. He stored him in a plastic box while Wednesday made no move to save him. She looked over, but she didn’t move an inch.
“Except he’s never been yours.
He’s mine.”
So that’s where the rest of Thing’s body went.
Addams remembered clear as day. The days he and Eugene spent time in the shed with the zombie, he’d barely noticed his pet missing a right hand. He never thought Thing was his missing one, but now it’s revealed Isaac Night was his owner. And he was going to claim that hand for good.
Pugsley’s eyes shifted from Tyler to Issac as he told his sob story about his right hand being lost.
“Turns out your parents didn’t kill all of me that night.”
Isaac slowly removed his glove, revealing his incomplete body part. The glove was filled with soil that fell to the ground as he lifted it. Thing moved around at the sight of Isaac’s wrist. Now the truth has been told. It was in plain sight; If you scrambled the letters in ‘Night’ and rearranged them into a different word, It’d spell ‘Thing’.
“Cute.”
Was all Wednesday said. But Isaac wasn’t finished yet.
“Imagine my surprise when I saw my right hand wandering the halls of Willow Hill without me.”
Isaac leaned down, his face inches away from the box so he could get a better look at his now found right hand. Pugsley’s eyes widened in complete shock and horror.
“And a DaVinci… is nothing without his right hand.”
He looked back at Wednesday.
“Your mother.. cut it off. Causing my machine to go out of control and explode. The power surge must have somehow animated my hand.”
“Well in your case, the part is greater than the whole.”
Wednesday kept her composure despite the truth being told to one of the people who cared a bunch about Thing.
Isaac turned his gaze back to the box and unlocked it, snatching Thing from inside the box.
That’s when Wednesday made her move. Tyler held her back by the neck, nearly choking her.
Pugsley tried protesting, but his words came out muffled because of the gag. Unable to face the sight of both Wednesday and Thing.
Wednesday held Tyler’s arm in an attempt to free her throat from his hand, but her strength was no use. Isaac took this chance to finally claim what used to be his.
Isaac held Thing down onto his severed wrist so he could sew it back on. A sewing needle and a thread floated out of his pocket, and did the job.
The sight was painful to watch, not because of how the stitching went through the skin without struggle, but because of the fact that they may never see their handy friend ever again.
“Now I am complete.”
Pugsley saw Wednesday’s expression drop as Thing lost all control of his fingers. With Isaac having two hands, finishing the job of fixing Tyler’s mother would be easier. Wednesday was finally able to escape the Hyde’s grasp, lunging at Isaac. She almost lost Thing once, and she was not going to stay back and watch while it happened again.
Isaac gasped but moved quickly and reached his arm out. Wednesday started floating.
He was a telekinetic.
Night’s hand shook violently as he started to adjust to his hand finally coming back. With Thing gone, it might have had a negative affect on his powers. But now his telekinesis worked better than ever.
Isaac brought Wednesday over a grave he must’ve dug earlier on. The same grave he came out of. The same grave Gomez dug.
“The Addams Family ends tonight.”
With his telekinesis, he arched Wednesday’s back and slowly descended her into the grave.
“Starting with you.”
Pugsley watched all of this happen, now only realizing the tears falling down his cheek when he noticed the cloth around his face getting wet. Wednesday looked at him for a moment, and he looked back. Then, Wednesday was dropped into the grave. He watched as the roots around her began to grow and cover her, as well as the dirt losing its structure and falling on top of her.
She was going to be buried alive.
A perfect fate for an Addams to meet.
The roots held her in place, making sure she couldn’t escape. She struggled and struggled, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get out.
The roots sealed the entrance. And this time, Wednesday was the one to see darkness. Black. Death.
“We have an appointment at Iago tower. Your pathetic little life will finally have a purpose.”
Isaac took Pugsley by the neck and dragged him back to Nevermore along with Tyler while he made struggled groans.
He wasn’t going to escape any time soon.
Before going to Nevermore, the three made a stop at a nearby graveyard where Francoise hid out. She emerged from the back of a tombstone and approached Isaac, her expression asking him something—hoping he brought back something special. That’s when Isaac revealed his right hand, and Francoise squealed in excitement. She jumped into Isaac’s arms, hugging him and grinning from ear to ear.
“Now we can finally fix our family.”
Pugsley watched as the woman caressed his restored right hand, and he was practically convinced they were trying to play ‘siblings or dating’.
“Hello!”
She greeted the hand like it was a baby.
Then Francoise and Isaac parted, walking away while asking Tyler to follow along. He obeyed and pulled Pugsley along with him, the shackle jamming against the back of his neck once more.
Off to Iago Tower they went.
-
Back at the dorm, Eugene was panicking and panicking.
But Wednesday told him to lock himself in the dorms. But he could risk his life again.
Eugene didn’t care. He didn’t care about dying if it meant saving Pugsley. If he was going to die while saving him, so be it. All he needs to know is that he’s alive.
He wasted no time and bolted out the door. That’s when he saw Enid and Agnes rushing out into the woods. He called after them.
“Enid! Agnes!”
The two girls turned around and stopped running, allowing Eugene to catch up.
“Eugene? What are you doing here?”
“I—I can’t just leave without saving Pugsley, okay? I don’t want him to die. I can’t allow him to. Also, I should be asking you the same thing. You’re supposed to be in the Lupin Cages. It’s a full moon.”
“I guess we have two Addamses to save then. Wednesday is in trouble, and we’ve got to dig her out.”
“Wait, what do you mean ‘dig her out’?”
“We need to get on the run. I’ll explain on the way there.
The three made their way to the Skull Tree, and as Eugene ran through the woods, he couldn’t help but think of the night he was being chased by a Hyde. Stopping wasn’t a option though. Pugsley was in danger, and he could be his last hope.
Agnes had explained for the second time that she ditched her ride home during a stop for gas, and that she couldn’t just leave Wednesday to solve everything on her own. She’d once again turned invisible and followed Wednesday into the woods. A lot of things went on. Apparently Pugsley was in shackles and had a gag on his mouth which made Eugene assume the worst. His expression dropped in horror as Agnes went on and on in detail about Wednesday’s burial and the truth about the rest of Thing’s body.
They stopped in front of a patch of roots right in front of the Tree, and began to dig.
“Wednesday, we’re here! Hang on!”
Enid dug the fastest, eager to get Wednesday out. She lowered her head to the ground, maybe trying to listen for a heartbeat, or any sign that Wednesday is still alive.
“I hear a heartbeat, but it’s weak.”
The three continued to dig as fast as they could. Enid even extended her claws, if that would do them any good. But no matter how hard they dug, they were sure it was no use. Wednesday was going to die tonight, and maybe Pugsley too.
“We aren’t gonna get to her in time.”
“We can, we can’t just give up and let her die!”
Eugene kept digging even with the roots getting in his way.
Agnes followed along, but Enid stopped. She looked up at the moon, the clouds giving it a dramatic reveal as the winds swept it away.
“You’re right, Eugene. We can’t give up. I’m not strong enough like this.”
Eugene and Agnes looked up at her, then at each other. If Enid wolfed out, she could never turn back.
“Wait—but you won’t be able to..”
“..Turn back. You’re an Alpha.”
Agnes finished.
Enid took a shaky breath in, but she knew what she had to do.
“I can’t let her die.”
Right there, below the full moon, she transformed. Eugene and Agnes both watched as her limbs grew and her head took the form of a wolf’s. Enid began to dig again, this time her claws cutting through the roots and more dirt being removed. The other two got back to work, even if they weren’t helping as much. They needed Wednesday to save Pugsley, and Pugsley to stop Isaac’s dirty plans.
At last, they could finally see Wednesday’s pale skin. They digged more, and then the rest of her face appeared. Then her neck, her torso, and her legs. Her eyes were closed, and just for a second, they thought they lost her,
“Wednesday, wake up, wake up!”
Agnes’ voice was shaky and quiet, but she also couldn’t lose someone who she looked up to.
Enid and Eugene looked at her, and they both waited for an answer. For anything telling them that she was alive.
For a moment, there was nothing but the sound of cicadas in the trees.
A sound Eugene used to find comfort in. But now the sound was intense and overwhelming.
Then there was silence. Eugene had managed to zone out and block out all the possible noises in the forest. He had nothing to do but cry again. Because if Wednesday was dead, Pugsley was too.
Eugene didn’t want that. He didn’t want anyone dead. He tried to focus on Wednesday’s face, praying to whatever gods there were that she’d wake and fix everything, but the tears seemed to blur everything out into fat blobs.
“Please. Please..”
Then finally, Wednesday’s eyes opened.
“I enjoyed that.”
Of course she did. She was an Addams. Eugene felt the biggest wave of relief.
Wednesday sat up suddenly, and Enid growled which caught her attention. She turned her head to look at her.
“Enid?”
“She—she insisted on it. We weren’t sure at first but..”
“It was the only way to save you.”
The moment between them was sweet and sincere. They exchanged nothing but gazes. And that was enough to tell Wednesday she was okay. Then, Enid ran off into the woods. She didn’t have a destination, she didn’t know where she was going, but she ran.
Wednesday turned to Agnes and Eugene as soon as she did.
“Go track her. Now!”
Her tone was eager. Now it was her turn to worry. To hope Enid would come back too.
Agnes went along without hesitation, but Eugene stayed.
“Why are you still here?”
“I want to come with you.”
“Why should you? Don’t you want to live?”
“If it means saving your brother, I don’t care. I want—need him alive, Wednesday. You have no idea how much guilt I have.”
She said nothing in reply, but she knew how Eugene felt.
“Come along or not. Just keep up.”
And from the shadows, Wednesday’s parents appeared, shouting her name.
It was going to be another memorable night.
Notes:
After I finish this, I’ll be working on another writing piece that is (woah you guessed it) sparkbug/zombees/lightningbug!! However you call it, but I use ‘sparkbug’ c:
It’ll be about what they did during the summer, and I don’t have anything planned yet, but I think I’ll settle on making it a oneshot. If I decide to go another step up, it’ll be 7 chapters. 7 chapters, each one being one day. so each chapter will be about what they did on that day (if I have ideas..) and I also want to insert a little something I headcannoned and planned in there.. so that’ll be it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE drop suggestions on what each day should be if I decide to do it! I appreciate you guys interacting and I can’t wait to write more of Eugene and Pugsley together!
Chapter 4
Summary:
All he could think about was Eugene.
Eugene, who was his roommate.
Eugene, who always came with him to the shed despite his hatred for the zombie.
Eugene, who always cared for his bugs so deeply.
Eugene who was so kind.
Pugsley wondered why he didn’t like him.
But it’s alright now, because soon enough, he’d be out of Eugene’s life. He wouldn’t have to be roommates with some weird kid who has zombies as pets.
He could hear the machine starting.
This was going to be the end of Pugsley Addams.

Chapter Text
At last, the group of four stopped at Iago tower. Pugsley had never been here before, but he heard Wednesday was when she went to save Enid and her former boyfriend from Agnes’ prank. They took an elevator up to the very top which seemed to be where the machine was.
“It’s all still here…”
Isaac stepped out of the elevator, examining the room.
Francoise, Tyler and Pugsley followed, still chained up like a dog while Tyler pulled the leash.
“Good.”
“How are we gonna put this junk back together?
Tyler was right. The machine was practically in ruins and it was damaged from the explosion the night Gomez Addams was used as a human battery. Wednesday was right, too. Putting the machine back together by hand would take months, and then it’d be too late to experiment on Francoise.
“We’re not.
I am.”
With his hand, he reached up then pulled down. A white cover fell off one of the machine parts, and a gramophone began to play a tune. Of course Isaac could put the machine back together by himself. He could do it so easily with his telekinesis now that he has his right hand back.
Isaac began to remove more sheets that covered up the machine, each part bigger than the other. He adjusted and moved some parts so easily that he probably knew the entire layout of the thing by heart.
Francoise loked mesmerized as the machine was being built one by one, nearing its completion. Not long after, the machine was finally complete. Others could have finished it in months, Isaac finished it in seconds.
As soon as he finished the last touch, the song made a dramatic ending.
-
Eugene followed after Wednesday and her parents as they approached Iago tower. And by the sounds of it, they weren’t too late. The time they spent saving Wednesday must’ve been the time Isaac used to get to the Tower. So he must’ve just arrived. They heard music coming from the top where the machine must be.
Where Pugsley must be.
Eugene’s heart was racing now. He could hear Wednesday talking to her parents about Thing, but the noises were muffled as he focused on the thought of saving Pugsley.
They were so close now. One wrong move, one step back, and Pugsley was sure to be dead. Eugene spent two days worrying about Addams. He didn’t want to worry for the rest of his life.
Finally, they reached the bottom of Iago tower. The organ music that played was intimidating and echoey, the noise bouncing off of the walls that kept the tower in place. They stopped in front of where the elevator used to be. The elevator Isaac took to get to the top.
“Mad scientist, cliché soundtrack. Perfect.”
Ottinger turned his head to look at Wednesday and his parents, realizing Gomez must’ve been nervous and maybe a bit scared. After all, this was the same place he lost his powers. The same place that left him traumatized for ages. Morticia moved a hand to caress his cheek, an action to tell him it was okay, and sent him to call the sheriff. To leave it to them.
“Eugene? Are you going to come?”
Morticia asked, though she wasn’t sure if he should come.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to save Pugsley. I’ll follow behind.”
She nodded, and the three ascended up the stairs as fast as they could as Gomez watched.
Just keep going. You’re almost there. You can save him, he won’t die.
Hopefully.
-
The machine lit up blue as Isaac reached his hand up to activate it. Three red lights lit up as well, complimenting the blue. The operating panels lit up, ready to do their job. The machine lowered itself closer to the ground.
Pugsley hoped someone would come to save him.
Was he going to die having only three people care about him?
Was he going to die without any friends to worry?
He was surely to die alone.
That zombie was his first friend. Now it wasn’t.
He wished Eugene cared.
Maybe it was better that he never knew how he felt about him.
Pugsley watched as the lights of the machine flashed before him, a clear sign that he was about to meet his fate. Maybe he wasn’t going to die seeing black, but instead a light show.
When Isaac finished up the machine, he doubled over, probably because of how much power he was using.
“Issac, are you alright?”
Francoise asked, assisting him so he could stand up straight again.
“I’m fine. Secure the power source.”
Isaac and Francoise went to the machine while Tyler dragged Pugsley over to a chair.
He was going to be used as a human battery for an experiment that could possibly kill him. What a fancy way to die. The chair had two glowing pillars beside it, and cuffs on the armrest to keep the victim’s hand in place so they couldn’t escape. Pugsley knew this experiment was going to be painful. He knew this could end up with him dying. But it’s all over now. There’s no hope in seeing the light of day.
He didn’t want to die yet.
Not in his first year at Nevermore.
Not when he hadn’t made friends yet.
Addams wondered if Eugene actually cared if he was gone or not, if he was going to die. It was a horrible thing to think about during your last minutes on earth. What if Eugene was happy that he died? He hoped he wasn’t a weird and bad friend. Pugsley only wanted someone to talk to. He didn’t want to be pushed away again.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for thirty years.”
Tyler forced Pugsley onto the chair, pushing him onto the backrest as he secured the cuffs. He bit down onto the gag as he did, trying to wobble out and escape. But it was too late already. If Wednesday was buried, there was no hope he’d live. No one would come to save him.
As Tyler began to secure the cuffs on his ankles, Pugsley tried reaching out to his shoulder. He was hoping he could electrocute him. Just one touch, and he could get out of this hell. But all that came out was a small spark, the plan backfiring on him. He must’ve felt the shock because he stood up hastily and looked him in the eyes.
“Get ready. We’re about to fry your battery.”
He secured a helmet on Addams’ head, a helmet that would probably be used to drain his power. It was much like those stereotypical helmets that mad scientists used to brainwash their victims—except this one was being used to drain someone of their power for an experiment and possibly even kill them.
Then, Isaac began to ready the power-stealing machine. The helmet lit up blue, and Tyler secured the strap under his chin.
In the distance, he could hear Francoise mutter something.
“It’s time, Isaac. Do it now.”
Isaac didn’t respond nor did he do anything.
“Now! You promised me.”
This is where it was all going to end—everything Pugsley knew, his family, the school, Eugene’s bugs to Eugene himself, he wasn’t going to see them again.
He wasn’t going to love again, feel again.
It was time for the experiment to start, when Isaac used his telekinesis to bring Tyler onto the operating table instead of Francoise. He yelled and struggled as he soared though the air, clearly not expecting this. Night locked the cuffs, all of them in the same place where Pugsley’s was. The wrists and the ankles. Pugsley watched the scene unfold though the chair, silently awaiting his doom.
But right now—during all of this, he couldn’t focus. Couldn’t calm himself down. That’s when he began to cry again. Everything was so unbearable, he couldn’t hold his tears back anymore. He felt pathetic, caged, hopeless. This would be the last day he lived. He even swore he could hear death itself calling him by his name.
It started off little. The machine took little sparks of energy. But knowing Isaac, he wasn’t going to waste time here. The process was already so painful. Like someone was doing brain surgery on you without being numbed first. He felt the electricity leave his body one by one. He tried fighting against it, but it was no use. The intensity of the machine increased, and the pain was immediate and harsh, no mercy being shown whatsoever.
He missed Eugene. He missed him terribly.
Addams remembered when they first met. When they shaked hands, he couldn’t control his excitement and ended up letting out a tiny spark between them.
He remembered when they would hang out in the shed, joking around and taking care of the zombie.
He remembered his bright smile, the braces around his teeth complimenting his lovely look.
With every thought, he sobbed and sobbed even more. He wouldn’t be able to see his face again, and that pained him. It hurt. It hurt more than the electricity being drained from his body.
I’m sorry I was a terrible friend. I’m sorry I ever even came into your life.
Eventually, his body went limp and he gave up trying to fight back. He could no longer see clearly as his eyes were filled to the brim with tears. Then, he could hear Isaac begin the experiment, big blobs of lightning blue flashing before him. He was going to die any time soon, and no one would be there to help him. Dying alone was one of the most worst ways to die, and Pugsley was going to experience it. His body began shaking violently, and he couldn’t control it.
He was going to die.
No one was going to save him.
And the worst thing? He didn’t even know if Eugene cared.
He didn’t know if anyone cared besides his family.
Addams heard the distant screams of Tyler who was in front of him, and unlike him, Pugsley couldn’t do the same. The pain was so unbearable that instead of screaming, all he did was bite down onto the gag in his mouth.
He couldn’t scream anyway.
No one would hear him.
The experiment kept going, and the pain was intolerable.
Pugsley missed Eugene, especially his voice. It was calming, and he wasn’t feeling that.
Pugsley missed hanging out with him, it was fun, especially when you were an outcast in a school full of them.
He missed everything that made him feel like he belonged.
Eugene was everything.
He was getting ready to finally lose hope, to finally give up. Suddenly, there was nothing. The pain was still there, and the sounds of everything in the room became muffled. In his head, replayed his memories at Nevermore. Most of them, being Eugene.
Everything he ever did, everything he saw, felt, heard, loved, he saw for the last time.
Then he saw something, hope. He could see another figure moving around—and it wasn’t Francoise or Isaac. It was Wednesday. Wednesday had somehow dug herself out of that hell hole in front of the Skull Tree and come back to save Pugsley. He saw her lift something, maybe an axe or some other weapon as if she were about to kill Tyler. He heard another voice, it was unfamiliar to him at first. He thought it was death calling him again, but as he processed it in his head, he realized it wasn’t. But he couldn’t focus through all the chaos, and he could barely see anymore. He was losing his vision and hearing as the power in him began to escape more and more.
“Pugsley? Pugsley!”
He heard heavy footsteps running up to him, and when he saw who was in front of him, he nearly choked.
Eugene Ottinger was in front of him.
He was crying and worried.
He actually cared about him. He came to save him.
He really hoped he wasn’t hallucinating.
“I’m here, you’re not dead, Pugsley, please, give me an answer! I’m sorry!”
He tried looking down and saw Eugene struggling with the cuffs, while Wednesday came and helped Eugene to get Pugsley out of the chair. When she lifted the helmet, everything was coming back to him all at once. The pain was gone, but he felt drowsy and drained. Literally.
Eugene was able to unlock all the cuffs, and he untied Pugsley’s gag.
“You came for me.”
I He stated, voice shaky and hoarse.
“I would never not come for you.”
Eugene replied, still sobbing and choking through his words.
Pugsley moved his gaze to the operating table, and Tyler had already transformed into a Hyde. He watched as he launched Isaac across the room, falling with a rough landing. But that was the less of his worries right now. Eugene was here with him. Pugsley tried saying something, but Wednesday shushed him saying;
“I haven’t enjoyed a mother-son relationship like this since Psycho.”
He kept quiet, but he looked back at Eugene who was still staring at him with eyes filled with tears. He had so many questions to ask. But right now, he really wanted a hug. He wanted Eugene to tell him everything was okay, and that he isn’t dead. That he’s not a terrible friend. For now, he only focused on Eugene. Slowly and shakily, he reached out his hand towards Ottinger. An invitation to hold hands. Eugene understood, and he took his hand.
Pugsley never knew a simple touch could drive him crazy.
Then, Morticia came to help Pugsley up.
“Eugene, help me! Hold on, Pugsley. Hold on.”
With the assistance of his mother and Eugene, he was able to get up and walk, but he still felt so drained, and his head pounded with pain. Wednesday went ahead to destroy the control panel, and when she did, it exploded with sparks.
Pugsley couldn’t keep his eyes open. He was so tired, and he wanted to rest. Eugene noticed him and got concerned.
“Pugsley, stay with me, please. I can’t lose you. Please keep your eyes open.”
They all watched as the two Hydes, Francoise and Tyler battled each other. They crashed through the window and landed on Wednesday and Enid’s balcony. Isaac finally stood up from the floor and turned towards them, then at his machine. They tried to flee before he could get them, but instead of chasing them, he went over to the damaged control panel which was sparking with electricity. It was no use, he wouldn’t be able to fix it. But he pressed buttons and buttons and levers and levers doing anything he could to fix his failed experiment. They stopped right in front of the ladder which Gomez climbed up on to reach the top. Pugsley, Eugene and Morticia watched as sparks flew across the room, and Wednesday as she tried sneaking up behind Isaac with an axe. Her plan? To get Thing back.
She called his name, and he turned back.
“You have something that belongs to me.”
But before she could swing the axe, everything exploded. Iago Tower exploded.
At first, there was nothing but darkness.
The same darkness Pugsley saw when he was kidnapped by Isaac.
Pugsley laced sprawled out across the floor, Eugene beside him.
Pugsley was the first to wake up despite him being in a lot of pain. He was facing Eugene, who had his eyes closed and face covered with ash from the explosion.
“Eugene? Eugene, wake up!”
He tried shaking Eugene awake, hoping the explosion didn’t harm him.
When he didn’t open his eyes, Pugsley looked around the room and yelled for his mom and dad.
“Mom? Dad?”
Gomez appeared from the staircase, his hair frizzy and out of place. He called out Morticia’s name, who was also laid across the floor, showing no signs of life. A part of the machine fell on top of her during the explosion, and it was a big one. Then, Wednesday gained consciousness, waking up with a sharp gasp.
Gomez headed towards Morticia, asking Wednesday and Pugsley to help. Pugsley looked back at Eugene as he followed, but he still had hope that he’d wake up. If Pugsley survived, so can Eugene. After they lifted the machine part, they all stared at Morticia in hopes that she’d wake up. Fortunately, her eyes blinked open, still full of life.
“I guess your premonition didn’t come true after all.”
They all helped Morticia up, but Pugsley was still worried about the beekeeper who laid lifeless on the floor.
“Is Eugene alright?”
Pugsley leaned down to Ottinger’s level, examining his face. Would he actually sacrifice his life just to save him?
Tears filled Pugsley’s eyes to the brim again. If it was prophesied for an Addams to die, it should’ve been him. That gravestone had said ‘Addams’, not ‘Ottinger’.
Then finally, a pair of oak brown eyes met Pugsley’s.
Pugsley smiled for the first time in two days.
“I’m alive.”
Eugene sat up, also taking Pugsley’s hand for assistance.
Out of the blue, Isaac appeared. He’d survived the explosion too. And right as everyone thought everything was okay, Isaac choked Wednesday through his telekinesis, and she fell to her knees.
“Because of you, I lost the only person I ever truly loved.”
The pressure on Wednesday’s neck tightened, and her family started to get concerned.
Scared, Pugsley held Eugene’s hand again. He didn’t know he was until Eugene looked down at the touch. Pugsley insisted on pulling back, but Eugene kept their fingers intertwined.
The last of the chaos continued, and Isaac went on with trying to suffocate Wednesday. The rest of the Addams and Ottinger couldn’t do anything, or else Isaac would kill Wednesday. Snap her neck. So they did the only thing that was left on their minds.
“Thing, we know you’re still in there.”
They were trying to reach out to Thing, who they knew was still alive. Isaac protested against them, saying Thing was a part of him. But they weren’t giving up. The Addams family wouldn’t be complete without Thing. Hastily, Morticia kicked a nearby axe to Wednesday’s side, who picked up the axe and threw it directly at Isaac. She missed, and it hit the control panel behind him, sending more sparks flying. But since the axe throw caused him to dodge, he had to let go of Wednesday, who was now trying to catch her breath.
Pugsley muttered something, but Eugene wasn’t sure what he said. So he looked at him, waiting for a repeated response.
“I’m scared.”
Pugsley repeated, voice barely above a whisper.
“We’re going to get out of here alive, no matter what. If not, at least we die together.”
Eugene gave him a faint smile in reply, as well as squeezing his hand again. Pugsley smiled back.
Wednesday stood up, and Isaac raised his hand again to suffocate her once more, but nothing happened. The bones in his hand cracked, and his hand started twitching.
Thing was trying to fight against him. He was trying to come back. But Isaac, being the clueless guy he was, asked himself what was happening to his hand. Then, Thing had given him the middle finger which left him confused. And without warning, his own hand poked himself in his eye against his own will.
“Doesn’t take a genius to figure that out.”
Pugsley remained mesmerized at the scene of Isaac literally going insane because his hand was fighting himself, while Eugene looked away, repulsed.
The sight of Isaac hitting himself was like entertainment to the Addams’. He looked like he was going mentally insane.
For the finishing touch, Thing unbuttoned his shirt and tried to reach for Isaac’s clockwork heart. Night fell to his knees and tried resisting against Thing, his clockwork heart ticking faster than ever. Finally, Thing reached in far enough and pulled Isaac’s heart out of his body, shoving it in his face in his last moments of living. That was the last thing he saw before he dropped dead, the heart rolling out of his—Thing’s bloody hand.
Eugene turned his head back to the scene, and everyone waited for a response from Thing. Nothing happened for a short while, and Pugsley got concerned which ended up with him squeezing Eugene’s hand.
Then finally, Thing got up and began crawling towards the Addams’, the stitches snapping as he moved. They all leaned down to welcome him back. Pugsley, who was the most excited, gave another bashful grin.
Eugene adored and missed that smile.
He was glad he got to see it again.
-
Eugene and Pugsley both walked back to school, their hands still intertwined. Both said not a word. They simply just enjoyed the comfort of the other’s touch. When Eugene stopped in front of the school, Pugsley looked at him in confusion. Wednesday turned towards them, realizing they stopped.
“Could you.. give us a minute?”
“Don’t get sidetracked by whatever activities you have in mind.”
Wednesday walked away without another word and disappeared into the school, leaving Pugsley and Eugene behind.
“Pugsley, I-“
“I’m sorry for being a horrible friend, I didn’t know you didn’t like me as one and I’m sorry for bringing that zombie back to life as well as keeping it in your shed! The only thing I don’t regret about it is how we hung out together, and I’m sorry for all the times I made you uncomfortable and such. I just wanted someone to talk to!”
“What—no! I should be the one apologizing! I was so rude to you! I was the worst, and I hate that.”
Eugene took both of Pugsley’s hands and continued.
“I-I cried, okay? I cried and cried during the days you were gone. I began to regret and realize everything. I care about you. I didn’t want you to die. I want to be your friend. If you died—I never would’ve got to tell you I was sorry. I never got to tell you I regretted everything and that I—
I love you.”
They both said nothing for a bit. After all, it was a lot to take in. Pugsley only stared at him, in disbelief at what he just said.
“I love you, I really do. I don’t know why it took me a year to realize, but if this is the last chance I ever get, I’ll say it now. I came to save you on purpose. It was my choice. I don’t care if I died or not, I just wanted to know that you were safe. You mean so much to me, Pugsley. I really don’t want to lose you. But—I’m sorry for everything I did.”
All Pugsley could do was let out the tears he held in, and pulled the beekeeper into a tight hug.
“I love you too. I’m sorry for putting us in danger.”
“All that matters is that you’re still here. And I’m grateful for that.”
Notes:
Guys I’m so sorry the ending is kind of rushed 😞 I’m supposed to be sleeping and i got sidetracked a LOT. Next chapter will hopefully be tomorrow!!!!111!!
Chapter 5
Summary:
“I’ll miss you. Even if you’re visiting for the summer.”
“I’m gonna miss you too.”
While they hugged, Eugene swore he felt Pugsley flinch under his arms, which made him worry.
“Pugsley? Are you alright?”
“Yeah, it’s just—a little cold.”
Eugene could tell he was lying, (it was about 77 degrees Fahrenheit outside) but he decided not to question it.
“I’ll see you in three weeks?”
Pugsley nodded and gave him one last big smile.
Ottinger saw his moms in the distance, and told Pugsley he had to go.“I’ll see you then!”
Before he left, he placed a small kiss on Pugsley’s cheek and ran off.
The touch lingered on his cheek longer than he expected, but he cherished the moment while it lasted.
Notes:

It’s a bit lazy, I apologize, i’m really tired and its currently 2 am as I posted thisThanks so much for reading, and i cant wait to see you guys again in a different work :D
Chapter Text
The next morning was the day for Nevermore students to go home for the year. Pugsley and Eugene wouldn’t see each other until next year. The night before, they confessed and talked, but they never actually discussed the topic of being partners and so. All their other roommates had already packed and left, so the beekeeper and the Addams boy were the only people left.
Pugsley had just finished packing up his suitcase full of explosives and weapons. When he closed the cover, he saw Eugene approaching him with a tiny box. Ottinger handed it to him, and he assumed that it was a prank box (given they actually opened a business to sell fireworks and other explosives the other day).
“This isn’t gonna explode in my face.. is it?”
“It’s a little snack for the road.”
Pugsley opened the box, and inside, there were eleven—no—twelve live bugs in there for him to eat. The old Eugene would’ve never done such a thing. He remembered when he’d said;
‘They look so.. juicy. Perfect for late-night munchies.’
And Eugene had replied with;
‘They’re pets, not snacks.’
Then he spelled out ‘BUG OFF’ with the bugs. It was a moment to remember and cherish. He kind of missed those days. With the two boys parting for the summer, it would be hard to live without the other.
“Don’t forget to pace yourself.”
“Whoa. Thanks, bee-boy!”
Eugene flinched and smiled at the given nickname, but tried his best to hide it. Pugsley noticed anyway. Now that Ottinger had his attention, he could finally ask his question.
“You know, I was thinking.. over the break, if you’re not too busy… you could uh—come for a visit?
“Really? To your actual house?”
Pugsley couldn't believe it. Spending time at Eugene Ottinger’s house together. Over the summer.
“I mean—that’s what partners do.. right?”
Eugene wasn’t sure if the label was okay to use, after all, everything happened so quickly that night. They had never gone through with the topic yet, and Eugene wasn’t sure if Pugsley was being serious about it.
In response, Pugsley gave him the widest grin he’d ever seen from him. Gods—he loved that smile so much. It was practically imprinted into his head and has been living there for the last few days.
“..Uh—speaking about partners, shouldn’t we like.. talk about this entire thing? Our relationship? If that’s okay with you, of course.”
Eugene was nothing but a nervous wreck—and it was the worst time to be one too. In front of the guy he liked. He was convinced that if he talked and continued the conversation further, he’d end up a stuttering mess.
“Sure, I don’t mind.”
They both sat down on Eugene’s bed, both saying nothing at first until Pugsley spoke up.
“So, how long have you liked me?”
It wasn’t the conversation starter Eugene expected, but since he couldn’t say anything first, he just had to roll with it.
“Oh, uh.. I must’ve started liking you when we began to hang out more often, so maybe when you brought back the zombie. But I was.. denial for a long time. I hid my feelings for the longest time ever and I guess it caused me to distance myself from you.”
Throughout the entire afternoon, they talked, and talked, too long that they hadn’t realized the time. They talked about everything they never admitted—to how they felt during the night at Iago Tower. But it was time for them to go, time for them to separate.
Before leaving, Eugene stopped him and brought him in for a tight hug.
Ottinger saw his moms in the distance, and told Pugsley he had to go.
“I’ll see you then!”
Before he left, he placed a small kiss on Pugsley’s cheek and ran off.
The touch lingered on his cheek longer than he expected, but he cherished the moment while it lasted.
“That was suffocating to watch.”
Wednesday had appeared from behind, Pugsley realizing she’d watched the entire thing unfold.
“Something’s been going on with you since Iago Tower.”
“It’s nothing, I promise.”
“You do you. Just don’t get yourself killed in the process.”
As Wednesday walked away, Pugsley went to go to the restrooms. Not that he had to use it. He needed some privacy.
It was something. He lied. And it has been there since the events of becoming a human battery.
Pugsley rolled up his sleeve slowly, and from his wrist all the way up, disappearing into the top of his sleeve, there were scars in the shape of lightning. He grimaced at the sight of the scars that wrapped around his arm. Not that it was painful or anything. Sure, it might’ve stinted a few times here and there, but the feeling never lasted for more than a second.
He found out that whenever he used his powers, the scars would light up a faint blue, the same blue as his electricity.
Pugsley was the type of guy to show off scars and such—but these? These were a reminder of the day he was about to die. It was a reminder of when he felt useless and hopeless, when he was used as a battery for an experiment instead of being seen as an actual living person. It hurt him more than pain did itself. He didn’t know that what happened back at Iago tower would leave a permanent scar in his life. Literally.
He reached out his hand and let out a small spark. And just like the electricity, the scars on his arm turned a faint electric-blue.
He wished he could remove them for good.
