We have fixed this because we've faced it

Summary:

What happens years after the Idol Awards, when all has set into a place no one was expecting at all.

What future is coming to the hunters? Will they finally be able to defeat the demon king Gwi-Ma?
Will they find the truth or will it destroy them?

Notes:

As a Mom, I've been obviously sucked into the whole Kpop demon hunters merch - I dont even listen to Kpop.
Anyway, after 15 years of not writing a piece of fanfiction, Im back into it. Hoozah.

Sooo, after reading at least a million fanfics on here, I decided to throw my own hat into the ring.

Mind my english, its not my first language and I will try to post updates quickly, but I'm a little busy being an adult and mother to two.

Might turn this into a series, might delete later.
Tagged mature for now, cause even in fics I swear like a sailor - might add some light smut later (never been good at it though)

Chapter 1: Fitcheck for her Napalm Era

Chapter Text

Chapter I

-

Fitcheck for her Napalm Era

It had been some time since the wrecked Idol Awards, that had Rumi leaving laid bare before the whole world and her trusted, fellow hunters. Things had been turning on her, she knew and broke.

In the End, thanks to the sacrifice of the demon at fault for breaking her into a million tiny pieces in front of the whole world, they saved the same world, created a new, stronger Honmoon and Gwi-Ma was defeated, albeit likely not dead.

Cut to some years later, things were looking peaceful, just some rips and demons here and there to fight into. It kept them on their toes.

Mira sighed at the memories, laying in her bed, her back propped up against the headboard. She’d disregarded the Book she was reading while reminiscing about the time after the Idol Awards and the things unfolding in a surprisingly different manner than she’d expected.

She let her gaze wander through the bedroom, long since she’s shared a dorm with her fellow hunters, having her own space and studio loft somewhere in the heart of Seoul. Soft, warm tones played on the walls, one wall plastered with photos in a way that no stone was shining through. She looked them over, a small smile tugging at her lips. She let the gaze wander more, she really needed to tidy up the room, she thought to herself. Discharged clothes spewn across the floor, some takeout boxes on the vanity besides the huge balcony doors, dust collecting on the mirror. Yeah, no, this room needed a deep clean.

She frowned.

As she was mapping out time for her to squeeze deep cleaning the bedroom into her already tightly packed schedule, something besides her caught her attention. A slight stirring, muffled sigh coming from the pile of blankets besides her. Her gaze softened, a warm smile playing around her lips as she looked down at the teeny face squished out from a cocoon of blankets. She chuckled quietly to herself at the sight.

“Nnnhh.. what's so funny in the middle of the night?” The groggy voice caught her attention, holding a finger to his lips and motioning a shush while pointing her head toward the blanket pile between them.

“Don’t you dare wake him up. It took almost 3 hours of tiny handed assault on my chest to get him to sleep.” she chuckled, looking a little exhausted.

“Been there, done that.” a low chuckle answered. “Why are you up anyway? It's like… “ a check on the phone on the nightstand, “...2.30 in the night. The hell, Mira?”

“It’s called sleep procrastination, Abs. You should try it some time, it's absolutely fun.” Mira deadpanned, sighing afterwards.

Another low chuckle coming from beside her.

“You know, love, I can take him over for you to have some ‘Me-Time’” Abby airquoted the last part, a knowing grin creeping up his face.

A swat at the naked chest got her a bit-back laugh of him.

“No, serious Mira. He’s a bundle of energy, demonic energy…” Abby knew the last part made her huff and grinned, “.. I can handle him tonight. Get it on with the girls. Zoey’s been pestering me about meeting up with you for days now.” he sighed.

Mira laughed quietly. Yeah, being an Idol, Hunter and Mom didn’t leave much time to be Mira. She’s been truly in her napalm era.

“I know, outside from hunting your kind..”, she gave him a pointed look when earning a shit eating grin, “.. and being ushered from promo, to concert, to stage.. there’s really no time left for the girls.” She sighed. She wouldn’t trade her little family for the world, but sometimes missed the times with Huntrix, privately. A slender finger reached out, brushing a tiny tuft of pink hair out of the toddler's face between them. A smile on her lips.

Abby followed her gaze, grin replaced by the same soft, loving smile.

“Jack will be fine a day without his Eomma.” he started. “I know you got some time until the next show and I can tell that black haired slave driver that I need to take one or two days off practice. Our next show won’t be until a month away.” he suggested, shrugging.

Mira sighed “Jinu’s as much of a workaholic as Rumi is, he won’t let you off the hook that easily.”

“Well, it’s for his wife’s good too, right? And nothing is more important than ‘Rumis wellbeing and comfort’” he tried to sound like his leader, rolling his eyes afterwards and earning a small laugh from Mira.

“Oh stop it, can’t be anyone being a lust hungry idiot like you. Some people love each other, like a couple. Like.. you know, the norm.” She was teasing, knowing how to get a pout from that dumbass. Her dumbass.

They hadn’t married. Mira saw no need to, and Abby agreed. They belonged to each other's side, no matter what. Not that she had expected this turn of events. Especially after the whole them trying to burn the world and turning it into demon galore when they popped up 5 years ago. She still hated demons with every fiber of her being, but had a soft spot for these 5 freaks she called family now. She learned that they weren’t all soulless, heartless vessels without emotions. Quite the opposite. They seemed to be radiating and oozing emotion.

It had taken a long time after them popping up again and redeeming themselves after the Idol Awards for her to fold in. Abby had been persistent in bothering her, as had Romance. Her walls were up, not trusting as always and sharp as a knife as she backed down their advances time and time again. Until that time, she couldn’t resist. When her world crumpled after her birth family reached out to just lash at and hurt her. When she was a shell of herself for days on end, shutting everyone out, it had been Abby getting through to her. Concerned, soft. His persistence at keeping her company finally led to a night, she was sure, she would remember even when her time came. She had told herself that she would only let herself go this one time. Too wary and drowned in self-hatred to really stop it from happening. But she soon found herself in a secret tangle with the big boy of the Sajas. He seemed to get her in ways most people didn’t. They hid their little meetings, their lustful encounters and their little touches as good as they could. He knew she'd be sinking her Gok-Do into him at first sight of him trying to go public - even with just her girls.

That was until she found out about the little ball of sunshine snuggled and wedged between his parents. It was one time. Alcohol to no end and failing birth control. She should’ve known better. Oh how scared she was to tell Rumi and Zoey. They both had long surrendered to their feelings by then, Rumi even married that black haired idiot. All in secrecy, that’s what being an Idol meant. And Zoey? Sweet, little, turtle-loving Zoey… She’d folded in no time to Mystery, though Mira couldn’t quite get a grip on the Enigma that he was. When she came clean, the expected backlash and anger at her lying to them the whole time didn’t come.

“Fucking finally!” Zoey had squeaked and pumped her fist in the air triumphantly. “Baby.. .you owe me 2000 bucks.” she added in a giggle. Mira had been silenced into a dumbfounded stupor. Wait, what?

Rumi had seemed to be equally happy and jumpy, until it hit her “...wait. Pregnant. Like baby pregnant?” she had looked at Mira shocked, when it settled in. A sigh, that puffed out the cheeks of the purple haired half-demon, left her lips. “Eeesh Mira, if you do something, then the whole nine yards.”

“We will figure it out though. You don’t need to come clean in front of the fans, at least not now. You’re not showing yet and we will come up with a reason for a hiatus all the same.” Rumi had winked, when her gaze wandered to her husband chewing Abby a new one silently. Abby had looked absolutely mortified, reduced into a sulking, pouting being that couldn't even meet Jinu's eyes.

He’d been so terrified as well, but never had shown it. Deep down, Mira knew anyway. His shame radiating off him the moment they both looked horrified to the little window stating “Pregnant

2-3 weeks”

Mira only chuckled at the memory now. It had been scary and hell, she wanted to simply die on the spot, but it was worth it. Three years after that, their two year old was sleeping peacefully between the warmth of them. One tiny hand had pushed free from the blanketfort he was snuggled up in, grabbing tightly around a strand of Mira’s long hair. It was his thing. Curling her hair around teeny fingers and pulling them to comfort himself. Mira had read that some babies do this, so she’d let him. It didn’t bother her most times, even though she felt often touched out. Ah, being a Mom. A satisfied smack of lips came from her side, little fangs showing slightly. He had yet to learn to use glamour. Not that it was too obvious, but he would soon start preschool and Mira was understandably scared of reactions.

She heard herself chuckling at the noise.

“..Just like his appa, huh.” she grinned, looking at her partner's face, who was sticking his tongue out to her in a scowl.

“Apple doesn't fall far from the horse, love.” he answered and shifted to sit up. “Imma take him to his bed.” he explained at her glance, gently unwrapping tiny fingers from her hair.

“You don’t need to, it’s fine. He loves sleeping besides Mommy.” she shrugged.

“..and I love sleeping with Mommy. It’s been a while.” The smile turned again into a shit eating grin at her flustered face. A low chuckle rumbled in his chest. “Maybe Uncle Jinu can take him some time soon for a sleep over. Auntie Rumi would love it and we’d have the whole damn loft and night to ourselves.” he added. This earned him another swat against his chest, though more halfheartedly.

Abby stole a quick kiss from Mira before gently moving the blanket pile that was their son, shushing him at his stirring. He then moved to the room next door, while Mira watched him leave, cheeks still lightly pink from his playful, yet hungry voice, smiling nonetheless. God, she loved this dumbass so much. Not that she would ever admit that out loud. When he returned, he shut their door not all the way, leaving a little gap, so that they could immediately react, if Jack was stirring or crying. Which would be soon, when he realized the missing warmth of his Mom and Dad.

“We got like… a couple minutes before he comes back running, I guess. Better make it quick.” he grinned, moving toward the magenta haired woman, with that unamused look on her face.

“It’s not like I wouldn’t be used to ‘quick’.” she teased, earning a scowl before being pressed down, while she tried to not die in a fit of giggles at his flustered face.

As expected, it didn't take long for tiny feet approaching them again, while they laid huddled together, legs a tangled mess, Abby spooning Mira from behind. They were quietly talking, Abby absentmindedly stroking Mira’s belly under the shirt, she’d dropped on again after their little entangle earlier.

“Mommyyyy~...” a small whine came forward with the patter of tiny feet, arms flailing while crashing into Mira. She smiled some, pressing a kiss on top of his head.

“It’s alright, baby. I’m here, so is Daddy.” she shushed, cuddling the boy close to her chest and resting her chin on top of his head.

The boy settled more into his mother before shooting a glare over her shoulder. “My Eomma,” he glared at his fathers cheeky grin, earning a boop on the nose.

“Mhm.. and my woman, sweetheart.” Abbys grin melted into a loving smile, “Get back to sleep, we’re here.” His hand reached out, to tuck some pink hair out of the little glaring eyes, leaning over Mira to kiss the teeny forehead, before settling back down and draping his arm back around Mira’s waist.

She too scooted down, yawning a bit and snuggling her Baby Boy close and her back into her partner. It didn’t take long for them to drift off to sleep this time. She felt content, protected and loved. Not that she would’ve  dared to even dream of it, years ago.

Chapter 2: Her Voice with(out) the lies

Summary:

“Yeah, Hello to you too, beloved fellow huntress.” Mira rolled her eyes, standing in the doorway like a forgotten takeout order. She watched Rumi leave with a smile though, but then frowned. Something seemed… off. Abby didn’t miss her look, raising a brow. “What is it?” he asked, voice low. Before Mira could answer, Jinu appeared, also having noticed Mira’s look.

Damn her ability to read the room like a god damn fairytale.

Chapter Text

The next morning came mercilessly early. Huntrix had been on a little pause these past couple weeks, not a real hiatus, just some downtime after a year of tiring Shows and Concerts all over South Korea.

The Sajaboys, on the other end, were working on their third album and Jinu, as their leader, was as restless about work, as Rumi was with Huntrix. So the boys had been up and about the studio days on end, nights to come.

So, when the little patter of tiny hands on bare skin woke Mira up, she turned a look over her shoulder.

During the night, they had shifted, little demon boy wedged against the warmth of his parents again, in the middle, while Mira and Abby had, at some point, turned away from each other to escape toes and fingers shoved up their faces. That little one slept like a drunken octopus and seemed to cast up limbs out of nowhere.

Jack was patting Abby's muscled back relentlessly, beaming a smile.

“Appa, up up. I’m hungryyyy..” he whined, being used to Abby getting up first thing in the morning to prepare breakfast. Mira couldn’t cook to save her life, except for her beloved instant ramyeon - not that this would be hard.

“Hey.. shh.. let him sleep, Jack.” Mira had turned and plugged her son from his fathers back, cradling him on her lap. “Daddy’s been home late at night, he’s tired.”

A little scowl looked up at her. “But I wanna eat.”

Eesh. Demons and their hunger. She raised an eyebrow at the scowling boy, poking his cheek.

“I know, and I will make you breakfast.” He looked both, shocked and afraid at his mothers words.

“Nooo. Please. Daddy will make breakfast.”

Yeah, well, thanks tiny gremlin, Mira thought. She knew she was a terrible cook, even burning eggs. Or pasta water. But she, fairly well, could make a bowl of cereal. This didn’t include the stove at all. Her eye twitched a bit, sighing to remain in a calm posture.

“Kwan - I mean it. Let appa sleep.” Mira said a little more steady, holding the tiny pouting gaze. The boy twitched at his real name being used - they’ve come accustomed to calling him Jack, thanks to Zoey. She’s said the names basically mean the same and he looked like a Jack. Zoey logic was not a logic, one could simply follow. But somehow, that stuck with all of them.

Mira started to stand up, hoisting the still pouting toddler onto her hip.

“Listen - I will get you cereal, alright? You love them.” She watched as his pout eased a bit and a grin, so similar to Abby’s crept up on his face.

They’d say, he looked like a carbon copy of her, slender face, sharp features, eyes who could kill with one look - she didn’t see it. All she saw was Abby in the way the boy smiled and goofed off, the way his eyes crinkled at some stupid joke and the way a little, fanged smirk crept up his face every so often. He too had his fathers nose and high browbones, she mused.

They finally had made their way into the open kitchen-dining room area, Mira plugging a bowl from one of the cupboards. It was his favorite, she knew. A little lion screaming at him from the bottom of the bowl, all cutesy and chibi’d up, when he would finish his food. He would always roar at the end, like he was answering the drawn on roaring lion in the bowl. It made her chuckle. She proceeded to throw in some cereal, topped off with some milk, just how he liked it. She sat him down at the table in his chair, getting his breakfast in front of him before getting up and pouring some milk into a mug for him as well. She’d started her coffee too, plopping next to him, when all was done. Mira watched the little one munching down happily, when she heard Abby’s voice coming closer.

“...yah, she’s left it in the bedroom, probably turned it off last night..” a short pause, listening to something, “mhm, will do. Tell that husband of yours I’m out for today.” Ah, he was on the phone with Rumi. Mira had turned her phone off last night while she was getting Jack into bed, the constant buzzing distracting the little one’s sleep. She must’ve forgotten to turn it back on. “Awww c’mon Rapunzel - he’ll rip my head off, but bow to your every wish. I need to take care of my son today - plus you’ll get Mira for a bathhouse trip the whole day.” he grinned at the squeal on the other end, holding his phone off his ear.

He wandered over to the table, plopping Mira’s phone in front of her, while returning to his call with Rumi. Sitting down, he listened to her convincing Jinu on the other end, imagining the leader of the Saja Boys sighing but relenting to every whim of her. It made him laugh quietly, winking at the woman beside him. “..mmmyyep. Tell him, will do. But later that eve. Alright, Imma drop Mira off in a bit at your house. Gotta call tiny too, she’ll be bummed, if she isn’t in on this.” he chuckled. “Alright, bye Rumi.” he said, clicking his phone off to text Zoey.

“What did you do?” Mira had raised an eyebrow, watching his face light up a bit at his phone screen. He watched over the edge of that screen to her, shrugging at her puzzled face.

“Told you, you should take a day off, hun. No turning backs now, you need off time from this one.” A finger pointed to their son, roaring at the lion in his bowl. His attention flicked back to his phone, hissing a muttered breath - “..here we go…”

He picked the incoming call up, holding his phone quickly away from his ear. The scream at the other end was inhuman.

“Say you mean it! Abby! Don’t try to trick me, Oppa!” Zoey. It was obviously Zoey, that had read his text message prior.

Mira couldn’t help herself, but smirked at the wincing face of her partner beside her. That’s right. Zoey was more squealy than Rumi. Or anything sane on this planet. It was annoying. She loved it.

“I swear to whoever is now king of hell..,” Abby sighed when he looked at Mira, his eye twitching, “.. Mystery MUST be deaf by now.” He returned his attention back to his phone while Mira laughed quietly.

“Yes, I do mean it, turtlegirl. She needs a break and a fancy girls day. So she’s all yours for today.” he answered, listening again with the phone angled away from his now ringing ear. “...Yes, tiny. It includes couch and snacks too. Best at yours or Rumi’s, unless you want your girls day hi’jacked’ by Jack.” He laughed at his own dumb joke. Mira rolled her eyes. Idiot. Lovely Idiot.

He turned his goofy smile towards her, chuckling at her deadpanned expression. Alright, he absolutely adored the daggers in her eyes. He mouthed ‘hot’ at her while wiggling his brows a bit, getting an drawn out “Ewww.” in return. It made him laugh.

“Listen, Zoey, I will drop her off at Rumi’s as soon as we finish up breakfast and wrangled the gremlin into actual clothes.” Abby had returned to the phone, sitting a bit back in the chair, while dangling one arm over the back. “Yes, I’ll text you, as soon as we’ll leave… no I will not teleport.” he drew his brows together a bit at the answer, breathing out slowly, “..because I’ve been wretched on upon the last time.” again a pause, listening, “I know he’s my son. Doesn’t make it less gross. Okay, so get ready then, see you in a bit. Tell Myst, I said Hi.”

He clicked the phone off, breathing a long breath, he’d been seemingly holding. Mira chuckled, having finished up cleaning the breakfast of her son from the table while he was busy on the phone. “Sorry ‘bout that. Forgot that I turned my phone off last night. I know, you must be tired.” she said, reaching out to gently brush his hair. He leaned into the touch, almost purring.

“Nah it’s fine. Plus, you’d have turned them down anyway, now you gotta go and get your pretty ass pampered.” He made sure to pinch said ass as he was smirking up at her. Mira only sighed, shaking her head while rolling her eyes. “O-kay. I will go..” she drawled, shaking her head again.

“Good girl.”

Thump. A hand had smacked the back of his head. Worth it.

He laughed at her, before watching her fondly. “Now, now. No assault in front of the children.” He pointed his chin toward a curious looking Jack, raising a brow. “Pack your stuff and get ready, I’ll take care of Mini-You.” With that, he scooped the giggling boy upside down on his shoulder and vanished off.

Mira, again, shook her head, smiling. Well, a day in the bathhouse and with her girls it is. She was excited, missing them.

It wasn’t long before they turned up to the countryside house, very close to the hunters' graves and willow tree. Rumi and Jinu had decided to leave Seoul, trying their best to remain private with their marriage, keeping their Idol personalities up. The fans, as much as they loved them, could be cruel. They wanted to hide away their private lives as much as possible. They didn’t know about any of them dating, they didn’t know about the offspring Mira and Abby had produced. Huntrix label had taken the Saja Boys under their wing too, so no one was really surprised that they collabed here and there. Though, keeping their whole little world private and unbroken, was an art of work on its own. One, that wouldn’t be possible without the help of their “adopted” Dad - Bobby. He loved his girls and would do anything for them. Even if it meant taking the brute of the industry, so they could have their private lives in peace.

So far, they’d made it 3,5 years of marriage for Rumi and Jinu - yes, they had practically almost married as soon as they’d been reunited. Mira wanted to throw up back then - solid a little over 3 years of Zoey dating Mystery and.. well, Abby and her hadn’t started to actually lean into a relationship until well into her pregnancy. He was there for her, sure, but wouldn’t pressure her into anything she didn’t want. So practically they were fuck-buddies, becoming parents, turning into lovers to being undeniably in love with each other. What a whirlwind these past 3 years have been.

They always said that they had to come clean sooner or later… but it was going well the way it was.

Abby parked the black SUV in front of the house, the windows on the back tinted in a way, that no one could peek inside. He checked twice for Dispatch or any other disturbance, before peeling from the drivers seat and helping Mira and their little one out of the back. He put Jack on his shoulders and Mira’s bag on his arm, so the only thing she had to carry was her pretty self. He gave her a smile, sunglasses still up on his nose and the cap drawn deep into his face. Mira was disguised as well, even though they should be totally safe out here. Jinus' magic would conceal most, if not all of it, and Rumi’s talismans should do the rest.

They quickly realized that their Hunter/demon dynamic was a deadly mix to those demons that were coming here illminded - but also after them boys for their betrayal. So they made extra sure to be protected.

Mira looked back at him with the same smile, her glasses on top of her nose, the signature hair pulled into a low ponytail and hidden away under a hoodie. They marched up to the door, and without a thought, Abby flung the door open. He was greeted with a sword to his neck. Damn, anxious Rumi was the worst Rumi.

“Holy… balls..” he almost had cursed, “Rumi, it’s me.” Jack seemed to be amused by Rumi’s antics, not that he knew any different than her being jumpy when his Dad was all but polite barging in. He squealed, making grabby hands at her. “Ruuuuuumiiii…” reaching toward her, “Auntie hug!”

Rumi’s stance loosened, her sword disappearing beneath the Honmoon before making grabby hands back at her favorite nephew. Even if he wasn’t by blood, he was as much her baby, as Mira was her sister. “Jaaaaack~” she singsang, plugging him from his fathers shoulders and turning on her heels while she snuggled him.

“Heeey, you three. Get in, get in.” he greeted a smile plastered to his face so unnaturally, it unnerved Mira even more.

“Spit it, slave driver. What is it?” she asked bluntly, using Abby’s words from last night.

“What is what? Rumi?”, Jinu looked behind himself, shrugging while trying to distract, “Nothing. She’s missed the little gremlin.” Ah, yeah another nickname Jack had earned from the group. He lied. Mira knew he lied. He was good at it, but she was better at detecting. She shook her head, cautiously making her way toward Rumi. She didn’t want to be distrustful, but she watched her like a lioness, ready to defend her cub at any moment given - because that’s what it was.

Zoey had already been dropped off by her boyfriend, running toward Rumi to claim the little one to herself. Oh, and Jack looooooved all the attention. Mira relaxed a bit, giving Jinu a glance. “Jinu, what is wrong?” she’s heard herself asking again, hand twitching. She was so ready to summon her Gok-Do and send him back to whatever king was reigning down there.

Jinu sighed a breath, looking toward his wife and Zoey with the little one. A warm smile crept up. “She’ll tell you soon, I’m sure.” He glanced back, thwacking Abby’s shoulder. “Hey, what's that for?” Abby frowned.

“Bumming out today. The boys caught whiff of it and lo and behold, they all bummed out. We got still so much work, Abby.” Jinu had crossed his arms. Always the leader. But Abby was second in charge to him, and he only shrugged.

“Sorry boss, but I have a bigger duty to my son.” He hissed, rolling his eyes. Mira left them to banter, not interested in their back and forth.

She joined the girls, plucking her son back against her hips. Just in case. It drew pouts and whimpering up, two sets of big puppy eyes begging her. “Nah, don’t.” Mira side eyed them. “Jack, be a good boy and go back to Appa, yes? Eomma and your aunties want to have some girly time.” Jack made a face at that, crunching his nose as he looked disgusted as any boy would be at “girly things”.

Besides, she needed him to save Abby from Jinu's monologue about work ethics. Jack ran off squealing, tackling Jinu’s legs and startling him. Mira barked a laugh. Served him right.

“Sooo.. what is it, you need to tell us, Rumi?” Mira asked directly, studying her gaze. Rumi threw her hands up, a big fake smile plastered on her face. Huh. “Soon, soon. In the bathhouse. Let’s go.”

She shoved the girls toward the door, waving Abby while giving her husband a peck on his cheek. He smiled warmly, resting a hand on her waist. “Have fun.” both men said in unison, watching the girls leave.

So. Then. To the bathhouse. Mira couldn’t shake the strange feeling, Zoey having caught on as well, giving her a look. They were attentive, watching every step of their leader with caution. What was so different about her? They couldn’t exactly pinpoint it.

And hoped she would open up in the bathhouse. No more lies. That was the deal.

Chapter 3: Couch Couch Couch

Summary:

Well, they asked for it. “...which leads me to earlier. I gotta tell you something.” She sighed.

“You’ve had a threesome!” - “ZOEY!” Mira and Rumi spat at her, Mira almost choking laughing, Rumi red as a tomato, glaring.

Chapter Text

It wasn’t long before the three girls arrived at the bathhouse. Rumi had made sure to rent it out, so that they would have privacy to themselves. There was nothing more ruining the vibe, when some people just started screaming over Huntrix in the bathhouse. While those Huntrix were laying there, stark naked, in the water. The silence was much more appreciated.

All three girls lowered with a sigh into the hot water. It had been some time since they last had done that. It felt good to all their overworked muscles and bones, and their souls.

“So… what’s been up with you guys?” Zoey started, still remembering the strange behavior from earlier. Mira cocked a brow, glancing over to Rumi who seemed to find the tiles besides her much more interesting than anything else. She was fidgeting too. Strange.

“Welp… nothing much. Drowning in motherhood. Failing at being a housewife. Sex has never been less than in these past weeks.” Mira shrugged nonchalantly. They knew the brute force that was Mira, but the last comment made both of her bandmates choke on their own spit. Mira’s face split into a shit eating grin this time. “What about you?”

“Uhh.. well, yeah nothing much either. Just enjoying ~Couuuuch~ and waiting for Myst to return home at night. Jinu’s been slaving them.” Zoey scowled, shooting a small glare at their purple haired leader, who only raised a brow in return. As if that was her fault. Eeesh.

“Tell me about it.” Mira sighed. She shook her head off the thought, glazing back to Rumi. “Now you, lilac. What’s happened in your vaca?”

Rumi gulped, two sets of eyes looking at her. One set expectantly and hopeful, the other more than skeptical. Ohhh man, okay here goes.

“Well.. you see. Nothing much either..” she began, trying to map her thoughts out carefully before finally thinking - what.the.fuck. these are my best friends - “although can’t complain about the sex part.” She grinned at their disgusted faces. Well, they asked for it. “...which leads me to earlier. I gotta tell you something.” She sighed.

“You’ve had a threesome!” - “ZOEY!” Mira and Rumi spat at her, Mira almost choking laughing, Rumi red as a tomato, glaring. Zoey giggled at her friend’s expression, winking at her. “What.. the two other boys must be lonely…” This time, Rumi threw her towel at her head. Zoey squeaked but laughed all the same.

“You’re right. They must be so frustrated. I know Abby won’t shut up about anything related to intercourse.” Mira rolled her eyes, sighing and a blush creeping up her cheeks. She’d seen the boy’s glances. She knew he was taletelling secrets about them. Ugh. A hand dragged up her face.

Rumi blinked twice, having been with them in the studio once Abby was more than happily teasing the other boys about some privacy she knew she shouldn’t know about Mira. Welp. She shook her head to cramp up her thoughts.

“I’m pregnant.”

The words sat in silence, Rumi’s cheeks red with a blush. At least for a moment before she heard the water sloosh around her. Both girls had wrapped her up tightly in a bear hug.

“Rumi! This is such great news!” Zoey beamed, knowing her leader longed for her own little family. Knew she wanted to do so much better than what was done to her.

“Yeah, girl, congrats. Took you guys long enough.” Mira teased, winking at her. “How far along are you?”

“It’s pretty early. I’m 9 weeks by now. We found out about two weeks ago… but waited for doctor’s confirmation. It came this morning - that’s why I tried to call you Mira. I wanted to share with both of you as soon as we were sure.” Rumi smiled at her friend, getting a soft glance in return.

“We’re just so excited. Pretty sure Jinu’s already told your big guy, Mira. He could barely contain his excitement these past two weeks, wanting to let the guys know as soon as I peed on that damn stick.” she chuckled. Both girls joined her. “So sorry for being all messed up earlier, good catch though, Mira.” Mira nodded once, smiling.

“Yeah, sorry about not answering my phone. Kwan didn’t want to sleep last night.” she sighed, “so I turned it off, because it kept buzzing like a fucking bee on my nightstand.” Her eyeroll was big. Both girls laughed at her expression, while all three settled back into their spots in the hot tub.

“Nah it’s fine. I was a bit worried, so I called Abby. He seemed groggy, but when I said, I need you to come over, he told me about bathhouse and couch and I was so down for it.” Rumi laughed. “So I figured, I could tell you both here too. I wanted to smash that ultrasound into your faces as soon as you’ve entered the house.”

“And nearly killed the father of my child.” Mira mused, nodding toward Rumi.

Rumi raised a brow in return. “Well he should learn to use, like, the door bell. Or at least KNOCK before flying the door open. Imagine me and Jinu doing things here. And he just barges in, with that little gremlin on his shoulders. Now, that would’ve been funny to watch him explain.” Rumi chuckled, and both girls knew full well that Abby had walked in on them time and time again, like the menace he was. He was nonchalant about it as well. It surely came easy with him too with his constant teasing and flirting.

Mira laughed at the thought of her love trying to explain their child what he was seeing. She could see him struggle and hear it too. “Would’ve served him right, for once.” she commented. “But I’m happy it’s… this. And not another demon-hell-monster-zombie apocalypse brewing.” she added.

Zoey nodded along. “Yes, so while we’re airing out our hearts..” she started, drawing the attention upon herself. She felt their glances, a blush creeping up her neck. “..uh well, Mystery asked me to marry him.”

“And you politely declined, obviously.” Rumi smirked.

“More like, made the poor man finally deaf with your cry-screaming yes.” Mira chuckled.

Zoey beamed. “Yes, the second one. Obvious…lyyyyy.”

Now it was her turn to be squeezed tightly in a bear hug by the other two.

“Congrats, Zoe. You deserve it.” Mira smiled, Rumi nodding along. “Yeah, what she says. I’m so happy for you!”

All three settled back. “Well, Rumi… how are we going on about that whole.. baby spawning?” Mira asked. She’d gladly take over the blame this time, just as Rumi had with her when she couldn’t face the crowd anymore because of the very obvious bump. Rumi had told the fans, that she needed a mental health break, after working so hard and tirelessly. The fans were, luckily, very understanding and accepting of their 8 month long hiatus. Though the rumors spread through quickly, thinking she got pregnant. Mira sighed at the memory of the mean comments directed to their leader. “I’ll gladly take the brunt. Tell me when and what to do, I’ll be at your service.” she added quickly.

“Thank you, Mir.” Rumi smiled warmly at her lead choreograph. “We’ll figure something out. We still need to let Bobby in.”

“Will you tell Celine?” Zoey asked, her voice low and hushed.

An uncomfortable silence settled between them. Despite living near the ex-huntress home on the sacred grounds, Rumi hadn’t talked to her aunt since the night of the Idol Awards. So, it had been a while.

“...No.” Rumi answered with a finality that wouldn’t let them question her. The silence stretched some more, before Mira moved.

“Okay, Im squishy like a frog and my skin needs lotion desperately. And my ass needs couch. Huntrix headquarters?” She’d wrapped the towel around her slender frame, looking at Rumi staring. “What? Do I have something on my skin?” Mira looked down herself, confused.

“Nah.. just wondering… Kwan has been soooo big, your belly too. I thought you were about to combust at one point.” she chuckled lightly. “..how do you manage THIS body!”

Mira couldn’t help the loud laugh coming from her. “Like I would have time, Rumi! He keeps me on my toes every waking minute. And if it’s not him, it’s the dumbass of a Dad of him. I don’t even get the chance to relax and sin with snacks.” Welp, yes, girl. Get used to it. Mira smirked.

Rumi smiled at her, getting up and wrapping herself up as well as Zoey. “That sounds.. a lot. Overwhelming.”

“It is. And it’s the best thing like, ever.” Mira confirmed, a soft smile. Yes, Rumi would love being a mother. She’d find herself in their new family, Mira was sure. And she was sincerely happy for her best friend, leader and lead-Hunter.

“Sooo… Headquarters?” Zoey piped up.

“Yes, headquarters.” the others replied in unison, chanting couch couch couch couch on their way out.

They still had the headquarters and the living apartment there, though now merely a prop for internet shows to keep up the imaginary of them being just Idols and single. Hah. If the world knew.

Off to couch they went.

Chapter 4: I'ma gear up..

Summary:

“That was the most lazy move I’ve ever seen you do… Do it again!” Mira chuckled, sliding a glance toward her lead-vocalist.

Rumi giggled. “Well… can’t be bothered, honestly.”

Chapter Text

It had been a wonderful day. Full of giggling, full of memories old and new being made. Full of love and friendship, crying confessions, fluffy feelings and Babytalk. Especially Baby-Talk.

The girls had crashed down on the oh so famous couch in the Huntrix Headquarters, watching 759 2 second videos of turtles and snacking on anything they could get their grabby hands on.

They’d been a tangled, cuddled up mess with Rumi in the middle, with her legs tangled over Mira’s lap and Zoey smooshed face into Rumi’s chest, hugging both her girls as tightly as she could. Their eyes all had drooped by now, a satisfied tired washing over them. Mira had a slender, long arm draped around Rumi to rest her hand on top of Zoey’s head and playing with, now, loose black strands, sighing.

“Should we let the guys know where we are or are we crashing here tonight?” she asked. Sure, she’d miss the squirmy little man that was her son and more so the tall, muscled mountain that was her partner, but a night without tiny toes wedging in her nose sounded like heaven on earth.

Rumi picked up her head from Mira’s shoulder, looking at her for a moment. “I’d love to, but Jinu would be so worried, if I just check out for a night, and he doesn’t know where I am.” she smiled. “At least I have to let him know that we’re safe.”

She emphasized we, not only meaning her girls and herself, her palm also resting down on the lower part of her stomach.

“Same with Myst, we should at least let them know.” Zoey sighed. “Abby sure would be concerned too, Mir.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right.” Mira nodded. But neither of them even moved as much to take a phone or anything. And it also looked like neither of them was willing to move at all.

“Derpy!” Rumi called out, knowing the tiger was watching her for his master. The big cat popped up from a glowering blue hole in the ground. Usually Zoey would be all over him, cuddling and cooing, but now, she just watched him with a fond smile. Mira too watched the big cat, a soft smile playing on her lips.

“Here, take this cushion to Jinu. So he knows we’re here.” It was the little Turtle Zoey had left here purposely for videos they took when they met up for their public disguise. “Don’t forget to bring it back, though.” Rumi added, sending the tiger on his quest while he vanished again.

“That was the most lazy move I’ve ever seen you do… Do it again!” Mira chuckled, sliding a glance toward her lead-vocalist.

Rumi giggled. “Well… can’t be bothered, honestly.”

She sighed, looking around herself. The Honmoon used to be the strongest here around this complex, obviously. Now it seemed to have faded a bit, that their living points had moved. At the same time, it had strengthened near their homes. Rumi drew her brows together slightly. She didn’t like it, felt exposed. A Note hummed in her throat, before slowly, silently beginning to sing.

“We are hunters, voices strong.

Slaying demons with our song…”

Mira and Zoey looked at Rumi, then each other, finding themselves too into the harmony when they joined Rumi.

“Fix the world and make it right.

When darkness finally meets the light.”

A small pause between them, as the Honmoon rippled blue, reacting to it’s protectors harmonies.

“Through the shadows, we will fight.

Guided by those lines, so bright.

Side by side, we fight the night.

Standing strong, our souls unite.”

They paused again, feeling the energy around them charge. Rumi reached a hand toward the webbed, rainbow colored lines. Mira and Zoey did the same, webbing closer as their song came slowly to an end.

“Ancient whispers guide our way.

Through the veil, where shadows sway.

Oaths unbroken, spirits tall.

Guardians sworn, we heed the call.”

When they ended, Rumi felt better. She smiled at the buzzing lines of rainbow around her, humming still in her throat. Mira and Zoey too relaxed a bit to that peace.

“... if you’re going to get a girl, she’ll be a Hunter, won’t she?” Zoey asked her.

Rumi slowly, but surely, nodded. “Yes, she would be. An interesting one at that. What would she be… ¾ demon?” she chuckled lightly at that thought. What a twisted way for a hunter. But it would only make their Honmoon stronger. She wouldn’t let her child grow up being ashamed. She would let them grow up being proud of what they were and their heritage. Maybe there were some records, maybe, just maybe, once in time, demons and hunters were fighting side by side, like they did now. Rumi could imagine it - why shouldn’t it be like it? It wasn’t like the demons themselves would love Gwi-Ma.. well surely some, but the majority hated his guts. She couldn’t believe that the demons have never teamed up with the one force able to destroy Gwi-Ma: The Hunters.

Maybe she could sneak into Celine’s house some time and steal… err borrow some of the ancient scripts. She was sure, her husband, or one of the other, older demons could read them if she failed to decipher them.

“That was sick.” a voice called.

The three girls shrieked, hurling around with their weapons drawn in an instant.

“Baby?!” Zoey, cocked a brow.

He had held his hands up defensively, while Mira had her blade pressed against his neck.

“Jeez you absolute moron. I could’ve easily slit your throat.” she growled.

Baby huffed, lowering his eyebrows. “Yah I know. Could you take your humongous toothpick off my neck?”

Behind him was the rest of the guys, including a tightly asleep Jack. Mira sighed, lowering her weapon before letting it disappear beneath the still buzzing lines.

“What the.. frick are you doing here?” Rumi had to stop herself from swearing, watching the little boy being cradled by Romance for once. He had insisted and by the look of the bags under Abby’s eyes, Rumi could understand why.

“Being concerned. We felt a change in the Honmoon. Thought you were being attacked.” Romance shrugged. “We told Jinu and Abby to go by themselves, but they insisted that we’re being stronger between the eight of us.” He cocked a grin, while tilting his head to the side.

That was, when the girls realized - they were in their demon forms. Gone the humanity in them, golden eyes staring into them. Well all but Mystery’s thanks to the wall of hair in his face. Pale skins broken through writhing patterns along their bodies, claws, long, sleek and black instead of hands. They must’ve been really startled.

“Relax.” Mira began her way toward Romance to take her toddler off of him. She’d missed that bundle of joy terribly and kissed his head, once he was cradled into her. “The Honmoon used to be strongest around our headquarters… obviously.” she sighed. “It wasn’t anymore. Guess Rumi got unnerved by that, so we just strengthened it again.”

“Like we’ve done to our respective homes as well.” Zoey added, walking over to Mystery, her Shin-Kals gone.

Their eyes were on the purple haired half-demon, who was glowing like a christmas tree in rainbow lights while coming down from the high of their harmonies and the sneak attack of her boys. Jinu joined her, looking her over worriedly and resting a clawed palm on her stomach. “You alright?”

“I’m fine, now. Almost peed my pants a minute ago though.” she huffed a breath, straightening her back. She too let her Saingeom vanish. Jinu chuckled at her remark.

“Don’t ever, ever ever do that again, Jinu.” she warned him though. “Yes, Ma’am.” he answered, his lips in a thin line. “Sorry.”

The whole room relaxed a bit. Mira had joined Abby, cradling a hand against his cheek. “You look tired.” she raised a brow.

“Yeah, tell me about it. This little… assho… I mean, our wonderful son, has been a real handful today.” He huffed a breath at Mira’s chuckle.

“Don’t we know that already, mh” she cracked a grin, stroking over the back of the toddler when she took her hand back off Abby’s cheek. She could imagine it, brightly. Jack being his absolute self and giving his Dad a good run for his money. He’d probably kept all the boys on their toes with his antics. She gave him a knowing wink, bumping her hip into his muscled side. That earned her an exhausted, but earnest chuckle.

While the mood seemed to lighten, a purple ripple went through the Honmoon. The girls snapped their heads up, Zoey and Mira drawing in on Rumi.

“Where?” Mira snapped.

Rumi reached out for a moment, closing her eyes to concentrate. She flew them open, panicked. “HERE!”

She swirled around, summoning her Saingeom and went to attack head on the oncoming threat. Until she wasn’t. Jinu had grabbed her wrist and yanked her back towards the others. No way he would let her fight. Not now. Not when she was carrying something so precious. “Get back and protect Jack.” he yelled at her.

Rumi was flabbergasted, but obeyed all the same. Mira had shoved her child into Rumi’s arms already, Gok-Do swinging over her head to join Jinu slaughter the incoming horde of faceless demons. Damn, they were a whole lot this time. “This is not your time, lilac. Stay back, protect those kids.” she barked at her.

Abby was with his woman in an instant, claws ripping out throats and tearing into flesh. Zoey joined, her maniac grin plastered all over her face. Out of all of them she probably was the scariest one. Mystery was by her side, standing back to back with her, tearing into one demon after another.

“Ro, stay with Rumi and Kwan. Shield them.” Abby barked, still second in command. Didn’t matter if it was the Saja Boys on the stage or, well, them tearing through a horde of demons.

The pink haired demon nodded once, bringing Rumi back against a wall and himself in front of her. “If you must and I say it, run, Ru. Run for your life and theirs.” He pointed to the little boy slowly stirring by all the commotion and her stomach.

Rumi blinked back tears and nodded, dumbfoundedly. Damn these hormones. She asked herself if Mira was feeling the same helplessness while she watched from the sides as she was carrying her son. Oh, she must’ve been so pissed, like slaying demons was her whole life purpose at this point in time.

Baby was having a field day, a similar manic smirk on his face as Zoey’s grin. Out of all of the boys, he was surely the most cruel one. Even if he didn’t look like it. But they all knew he was a massive asshole beneath his on stage persona. They loved him for his bluntness and well… ability to fight. He tore into their attackers not only with claws, but teeth as well, seemingly enjoying ripping them to shreds with his mouth. He was teamed up with Jinu, having his back since Rumi was out of order for the time being.

“Sing!” Jinu bellowed, since it seemed that the tear in the Honmoon seemed so big it couldn’t be sealed any other way.

Three pair of eyes shot towards him, puzzled. Abby reached over Mira to grab the incoming demon at it’s throat and slam it to the ground before it could attack her. “Sing, hunters. NOW!” he too barked, gone his soft voice, laced with his demon in him. Oh, he was pissed. And scared. And fucking tired. Mira could tell, he barely used the rumbling echoing when he was around her.

The three hunters looked at each other, nodding once and pitched up their harmonies. Singing an ancient song, almost forgotten, the words lying deep beneath them, buried in their souls. And so they sang. The first song. The song the first hunters sang 400 years ago. It was one of their strongest harmonies, they knew that. Mira and Zoey still were swinging their weapons, slaying one demon after another while holding their tune. The Honmoon closed slowly.

“Appa… Eomma…” oh no. Rumi’s eyes snapped toward little Jack, two amber orbs glowing back up to her, afraid, scared. Shivering. She pressed him tighter to her chest, engulfing him in her voice and warmth. She couldn’t break the song, couldn’t break their harmony or the effort was for nothing, but she wanted to assure the little boy all the same.

“Got’ him.” It was Mystery coming up to her side, taking the boy and mumbling soft words into his ear. He had cradled him close to himself, Jack slowly relaxing into Mystery, though he clutched on him tightly while his little eyes were glued to his parents tearing through… Monsters. Monsters that were real. Monsters that had the same patterns as his Dad and himself. As his Auntie Rumie and his Uncles. He shivered in Mystery’s arms, the demon having to put up a lot of strength, to at least glamour down the whole demon. Only patterns still showing in his skin.

But the huntresses voices, Mystery’s warm touch, soothing voice and familiar smell calmed him down eventually. And, out of fear, he closed his eyes.

When the last demon was going into a puff of pink smoke from Zoey’s final Shin-Kal, all of them stood, heaving breaths and looking around. The Honmoon had closed, but that was the biggest tear in 5 years. Rumi still hummed the note as to ensure the Honmoon would stay closed, but she looked panicked nonetheless. What the fuck was that?

“No idea, but it was crazy.” Baby answered between heavy breaths, his hands on his knees, buckled over a bit. Oh, she must’ve said it out loud.

“Why now…?” Zoey gasped, trying to find her composure back. It had fucked off with her last Shin-Kal, she assumed.

“I don’t know, but I’m going to find out.” Jinu answered, equally put through the meatgrinder, but he forced himself toward his wife to check her over. Rumi looked absolutely startled, eyes big, her left one flicking golden.

“You’re okay, Rumi. It’s alright, love. We’re safe.” Jinu hummed when he pulled her into a hug, holding her close until he felt her relax in his embrace.

Abby and Mira both crashed into Mystery, well almost, Abby grabbing his little one from him. Mira laid a hand on Mystery’s arm, sighing. “Thank you Myst. We owe you, big time.”

“No you don’t, we’re a family, right?” Yes, Enigma. She just didn’t get him. She only nodded at him before turning her attention to her two boys. “Jack, are you okay, baby?” She asked, brushing his little bangs out of his eyes. Teary eyes. Shocked ones. LIke he couldn’t believe what he witnessed.

“Monsters are real, Daddy.” he breathed, clutching tighter into his fathers chest, whimpering. Abby sighed, looking at Mira. “Yes. Yes, they are. But we’re all here to protect you. Always.” he tried assuring his son, breathing a long breath while slowly calming down.

Well, that was unexpected… and they sure needed to find the reason.

Things seemed peaceful, and harmonizing… falling into place. So why now? Why this huge tear? What happened, that it would cause such a ripple.

Jinu was determined to find out, he knew where to look for answers as well. Even if he didn’t like the thought.

He needed to talk to Celine.

Notes:

That's all for today, gotta join my little ones sleeping :)

Well, are you as excited as me to find out, what they will find out? Because as of now, I have no idea. I'm writing as ideas flow, not having found my red string through the story yet. Little experimental, but I guess it works for me so far.

My autocorrect kept autocorrecting Honmoon into Honeymoon - so if you find one, I've overseen, well, then its now honeymoon instead of honmoon.

Hope, you like it - Updating soon as I can - comments and Kudos appreciated! <3

Chapter 5: Okay, I show you wild

Summary:

The tension in the room tightened, all eyes on the couple in front of them. Mira had her arms crossed, towering over a scowling Abby on the couch. He was stubborn. As she was. She knew that, having had her one on one with him more than once. She knew it was him, showing his concern for her. Knew, he just tried to protect her. It triggered a memory.

Chapter Text

Huntrix and the Saja Boys had found their way to ~couch~ soon after the attack, all still riding the high of the fight. They were strewn over in various states.

Zoey was sitting on Mystery’s lap on the floor, her small arms wrapped tightly around the demon's neck. He absentmindedly stroked her back, to calm down himself or her.. well he wasn’t sure at all.

Baby was beside them, leaned back on his hands. He’d had to clean himself up first, his mouth having been bloodsmeared and whatnot from his onslaught.

Mira sat wedged between Abby and Romance, both their warmth comforting her while she rocked her still whimpering son on her lap. Abby had her leaning against his side, his fingers entangled in her hair, staring at the floor. Romance had his hand on the back of the little boy, moving reassuring circles into it. He had been the closest friend to both, Abby and Mira, becoming a pretty important part of their lives.

Jinu and Rumi sat across from the four, Rumi tightly squeezing around Jinu’s middle, almost giving him no room to breathe. Her eyes were still slightly widened, thousands thoughts reflecting on her face. Jinu was silently brooding, his palm resting against Rumi’s lower belly.

“..that shouldn’t have happened.” Zoey began, looking up from her stupor. “We’ve strengthened the Honmoon right here. Right before the attack..” the last words were coming in a tone not more than a whisper.

All eyes turned to her. She could feel their gazes on her back. “It shouldn’t, but it did.” Mystery began, musing, “Something must have disrupted the barrier greatly, if it could not withstand right after being strengthened.” His face was unreadable, even if Zoey had brushed the hair out of his eyes. He had looked up at her, one eye a deep chocolate-brown, the blue one pale, almost as if being blind, focusing in and out.

“We need to find out what could’ve disrupted it, quickly. That was some huge tear, and one I haven’t seen..” Mira began, looking at Rumi before continuing with her brows drawn together, “..since that day we’ve fought on the train.” She meant the fighting in more than one way, having fought with Rumi while slaying those demons.

Rumi winced slightly, looking up at Mira. It wasn’t a pleasant memory, for neither of them. The day before the Idol Awards, the day before everything was on the brink of blazing up in a magenta fire.

“..why did you sing the song?” Abby asked, turning to Mira first, before looking at Rumi as she nodded her chin towards her leader. “I mean, before the attack.” he added.

“Rumi?” Jinu asked her, since all eyes were on her.

She blinked back tears, not looking up.

“I don’t know. I felt… felt exposed. Felt unsafe, here nonetheless.” The snort she produced was without humour. “I had the strong desire to sing, to strengthen it, to see its webbing and touch it closer to me.. to us.” she continued. She couldn’t pinpoint it. It had been like a panic attack rising within her and she had felt, the only way to snub that out in its beginnings was to sing and harmonise the Honmoon.

“Who knows how bad it would have been, if we didn’t sing beforehand.” She finally concluded, looking up at the others. Her face was unreadable, her eyes unfocused.

A synchronized sigh went through the group.

“Well, we will figure it out. There needs to be some explanation..” Jinu began, being interrupted by Mira.

“And where are we going to find it? I’ll assume that, if that has happened before, it’s written down, but we have no access.” She shot him a glare, huffing. “At least we don’t anymore.” It was frustrated at best, but Mira couldn’t help herself. She too resented Celine for everything that came to light after the Idol Awards. She wasn’t even sure if she could contain her fury, if she would ever lay eyes on that woman again. Even though she was their mentor, that woman had serious characteristic problems. Even bigger than her own.

Abby had looked up at her, pressing a kiss to the side of her head as if he could feel the anger and frustration oozing off of her. It was a rare sight, they all knew. Mira hated to be touchy feely in front of the lot, but leaned into him with her eyes closed anyway. So it had to be serious, if she wasn’t trying to pry his ass off of her.

“Then we make access, Mira.” Jinu started, looking at the magenta haired, scowling woman. “I have my ways.”

“She’ll kill you on sight, forget it.” Zoey spat, a rather unamused laugh at herself.

Rumi looked up at her husband, nodding. “She hates your guts. I guess worse than she hates Gwi-Ma.. or my father.” A sigh left her lips. “You wouldn’t be able to say a syllable before she’d had your head in her hands.”

“Then he won’t be going alone.” Romance nodded, earning looks. “What? Going alone is a suicide mission. He needs to be accompanied by a hunter. Best, one who is able to use the Honmoon to her will.” He shrugged a little.

Rumi shot him a glare. They were all able to use the Honmoon to their will more or less. While she had total control of it, Zoey could use it to web it tighter, locate enemies and summon her weapons. Mira could almost use it the way Rumi did, the Honmoon bending almost as entirely to her will than her own. Rumi blinked, it dawned on her.

“Mira…” she breathed, looking at her choreographer.

“Oh hell no!” Mira threw her hands up, drawing her brows together. The motion made Jack almost tumble off her lap, being caught by Romance, who cradled the now sleeping boy close to himself. “Not even in a million years.” she added, jumping up now that her lap was empty to cross her arms and start pacing the room.

Abby blinked surprised, watching her move as she seemed to get more pissed off by the second.

“Mira.. please. I.. I can’t go. She would kill me, too. Bearing his child. You know that. You know what she did to my Mom.” Rumi was watching her friend, her brows drawn up in a plea. She hated to think about this part, tried to push it down as deep as she could. But it was the truth. Celine had killed Mi-yeong. Rumi didn’t know if she did it on purpose or accidentally, not that she would care either. Both were bad.

Mira growled frustrated. She knew that. Too well. “What about Zoey?” she motioned to their maknae.

“What, me?” Zoey giggled unamused, shaking her head. “You know I cannot bend the Honmoon like you or Rumi. I’m not even as strong as both of you.” she trailed off at the end. She’d love to jump the train, really, but she also knew it would be a suicide mission for herself.

Mira knew that, too. She huffed frustrated, her fists clenching so hard that she dug the well manicured nails deep into her own flesh, feeling the draw of blood trickling down her palms. Abby watched her closely, brows drawing together when he noticed her bleeding. He wanted to wrap her up in a hug, but her expression told him better. She didn’t want to be touched right now, or she’d explode.

Instead, he heard himself speak.

“You’re second in command, Mira. If it can’t be Rumi, it needs to be you.” he slowly began, avoiding her death stare. He knew she could handle Celine her ass back singlehandedly. He knew her strength and the way she was able to manipulate the Hoonmoon to her will. He’d seen it countless times. When she was webbing the Honmoon around their sons crib, tighter around their home. The way it lit up, reacting to her voice when she was singing. The way she could send a burst of energy through it with her Gok-Do. The only one having more control was Rumi. Their leader.

“Arrrghhhh.” Mira was so frustrated, her eyes closing tightly shut. She knew they were right. All of them. And she hated it.

“I will go too.” Baby began, smirking up at Mira, “I’d ~loooove~ to see that fucking ex-hunter try to attack either of you. She’d meet her Creator sooner than later. Just alone for that arrogance she’s throwing around.” A deep, menacing chuckle accompanied his words. He’d had his encounters with Celine, when she still was a hunter herself. He’d been around a century longer than Jinu and hated that woman with a passion. Hunters in general weren’t in his favor, but he had a mission to kill this one before and their encounter wasn’t exactly pleasant for either of them. He’d still had an open bill with her.

“So, I guess it is set.” Jinu began. “I will go to her, Mira and Baby come along.”

“I’m going too.” Abby said, earning a shook of head from Mira.

“No, you’ll stay.” - ‘“But.. I won’t let you go alone into the lioness dent!” he shot back.

“And what about Jack? If something happens to me..” Mira elaborated, “..he needs you. We can’t both be throwing ourselves into a suicide mission, Abby.” She was stern, her tone didn’t leave room for discussion at all.

Abby growled lowly, he knew she was right. It didn’t sit well with him anyway. “So you know what’s coming. You do as well as I do. And I should just sit here, watching you going on to kill yourself and be fine with it?” he spat.

The night was silent, dark shadows dancing around the both of them. They’d been occupied in, what Mira later would call, “life-altering” activities, cuddled up, naked bodies relaxing in each other's embraces. She could feel a small kick in her stomach, her hand automatically wandering over it to hush the squirming inside. She’d been far along, eight months, only a couple more weeks to go before they would be welcoming their baby. And she had finally given in to her feelings, risking it by trying to build a relationship with the man she was sure she loved. Not that she had ever said that out loud. Before her giving in, she’d been fine co-parenting with the big man that was Abby. But the way he treated her, the way he understood her had triggered something deep inside, she thought she had buried forever.

She felt a warm hand cupping her own on her rounded belly. A sigh followed. Here in the dark of the night, they both felt comfortable sharing secret whispers. “Y’know, I never thought I’d find myself in this kind of situation. Let alone with a hunter herself.” A low chuckle accompanied the sentence. Mira huffed a laugh. Neither did she. A silence stretched, charging up though. Something unspoken lay between them.

“I love you, Mira. I do. And I love our child. More than I want to admit. More than I thought I was capable of…” Abby breathed a long breath. “..it hurts sometimes, it’s so much. And I’m afraid of losing all of it. I sure as hell don’t deserve it.” An unamused snort of him. Welp, now it wasn’t unspoken anymore. Mira had felt her cheeks burn with heat, she sure was red as a tomato. Thank god it was so dark. She sighed, leaning into him.

“Same, you big idiot. Same..” she replied.

Mira couldn’t help herself when she crashed onto her partner, tightening her arms around his neck when she pressed a deep kiss onto his lips. He was startled, not having expected her to react that way. He thought she'd chew him a new one, maybe even ripping his head off. His, in surprise, thrown up hands drew her closer by her waist while encircling her slender frame, returning her kiss with the same desire she was putting into it. And this all in front of everyone. Like, that had never happened before. Like ever. He was lucky to get as much as a brush of hair out of her when they were in company. Except maybe with Romance. She seemed more relaxed when it was just him being with them.

Nobody even dared to breathe in that moment, knowing what could follow was nasty if they dared a tease. Eyes averted the couple, silence deep.

“You stay with the rest. I will go. You keep Kwan safe, I will keep Jinu safe. Understood?” Mira breathed when she pulled away from Abby, forehead resting against his, her arms still around his neck. Abby looked at her dumbfounded, a small hue of pink on his cheeks. He only nodded. There was really no room for discussion now. “Good.”

She pulled away from him, sitting down beside him again while taking her son of a very silent Romance.

Jinu cleared his throat. “Well.. yes. So, I suggest we crash here tonight and start in the morning. Everyone should get rest, we need it.” He’d rather have they all stay close nearby, just in case.

With that, everyone seemed to get up, the room rustling quietly.

“I’ll get you some sheets and pillows. You can settle here, if you want to.” Rumi said to Baby and Romance, knowing their respective partners would crash with the girls in their old rooms. She wandered off to do that, Zoey on her heels to help her.

Mira silently got up, walking towards her old bedroom. When she realized she was alone, she turned around. “You coming, or do I need to haul your ass into bed myself?” She asked, a brow raising up at Abby still sitting dumbfoundedly on the couch.

“Uhh yes.. I mean no..” he began, though a grin crept up his face. “Though the thought sounds nice. I love you handling my ass.” He winked at her huff, couldn’t help himself. He followed her off anyway.

“Well, good night then, everyone. Try to find sleep.” Rumi sighed, watching the pink haired chaos family vanish down the hall, ending the night.

The morning would come quicker than they’d want and with a mission, that was both - important and self destructive. To say she was nervous was an understatement.

She was afraid. Deeply.

Notes:

If you haven't figured out, I hate Celine with a passion. Sure, she had her reasons.. doesn't mean they were good at all.
After all, I'm a Mom by myself and the thought of some caregiver treating my babies this way... ugh.

However, have a new chapter ~
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.

Chapter 6: Your faults and fears must never be seen

Summary:

“Not quite sure how much she knows about all of this..” Mira motioned around the room, “But I’m sure she knows enough to hold it against us. She won’t show any faults or fears.”

“Your faults and fears must never be seen.” All three girls recollected in unison.

Chapter Text

Everyone had shuffled into their respective rooms. The quiet in the complex was nearly screaming at the lot of them.

Mira had started to clean up the knicks and wounds she got during fighting, after settling her son into bed. Poor boy must’ve been exhausted, she just hoped he wouldn’t get nightmares tonight. She sat silently in the ensuite bathroom, tending to broken skin after her shower. A towel was wrapped somewhat around her, though she didn’t care to fasten it at all. It would slip anyway with her moving around. She had some disinfectant, hissing every now and then when it stung.

She didn’t look up when she heard the shower turned off again, knowing Abby was done cleaning off the fight and its remnants.

“Here, let me help.” he offered when he had walked over, kneeling in front of her and taking the wipes and disinfectant. He too had some more or less serious wounds, but he knew he’d be healed in no time compared to her.

“Thank you.” she mumbled quietly. She watched him cleaning and wrapping up the worst of the signs of fight, releasing a sharp hiss when one spot sent a particular sharp sting throughout her.

“Sorry.” he sighed, “For earlier too. I know you must be uncomfortable now.” A small mumble, not looking up from his work.

Mira let out a breathless chuckle. “It’s alright. They won’t dare to say a thing. At least I hope that.” If they wanted to live, that’s it. They knew that her wrath could be awful. And even if she wouldn’t hear the end of it, so what. Maybe she should allow herself to be in love in front of them anyway. Not like it was a secret, having a child together and all that.

“All done.” Abby mumbled when he was done wrapping her up, turning his eyes back up to her. “Mira, promise me to be careful tomorrow.” It wasn’t a question and she knew that. Before she could shoot back a remark he had brought his hand up to cradle her face in it. “I know, I know. You don’t need to retort. But I know as well that it’s a real possibility that you let the anger take over. Anger makes blind, trust me. Fury will make you unguarded. Easy to attack and pry on.”

Mira didn’t know much about his life before becoming all this, she wasn’t prodding either. Bits and bouts had he told, sometimes involuntarily while he was having a brutal nightmare. She trusted him enough to come to her if he really wanted to talk.

“Just… just be careful and come back home to Jack. To me.” His thumb was slowly caressing her cheek and for once, all the cocky personality was gone and replaced with something sincere. Something Fearful.

Mira couldn’t help the soft smile on her lips.

“Pinky promise.” she chuckled. “Like I would give that cunt the opportunity to prevent me from coming back to my boys.”

Abby snorted. Always the foulmouthed woman. He loved it.

“Let’s go to bed, love. Jack has tired you out without the attack. You didn’t sleep much the night before either.” A smirk played around her lips, knowing she was one of the reasons for less sleep the night before.

“Worth it.” he grinned up, standing up to pick Mira up in his arms.

She squeaked involuntarily, automatically wrapping long legs around his waist and grabbing his shoulders to steady herself. A soft kiss was planted near the corner of his mouth, smiling against his skin.

“Maybe we should make good use of this night.” she mumbled, smirking a bit when she pressed herself against him.

Before Abby could respond, a wail was heard from the bedroom itself. Seemed like the nightmares had settled in. Oh well.

Both sighed, Abby walking them over to the bed so they could take care of the crying boy, who had been sitting up and rubbing his eyes. They tended to the little one, both of them wrapping him up between them, mumbling assuring words to him. It didn’t take long for them to fall asleep though. Jack was resting on Abby's chest, Mira having her head resting there too, close to their son's tiny wrinkled face. Mira felt a strong arm pulling her closer around her waist, settling against warmth that comforted her better than anything else in this world.

For now, all was well. Tomorrow would come quickly.

And it came quickly. Too fast for a good night's rest for anyone at the headquarters.

Rumi was up before sunrise, and decided to start some coffee and tea for the lot. Zoey had already joined her, along with Mystery. They were silently preparing breakfast, only the noise of dishes being moved around coming up.

“Morning.” Mira mumbled, having been woken up by her son and was carrying him closely to her chest while joining the others.

“Hey.” Rumi smiled, booping the small nose. “Sleep well?”

“No.. no not really. He’s got a whole bunch of nightmares.” Mira sighed.

“...and you?” Zoey asked, her eyes full of concern.

“As good as anyone, I assume.” Mira replied, shrugging her shoulders a bit. She knew Zoey was concerned because of the heated discussion between her and Abby the night before. “But don’t worry. We had worse fights.” she added. At least she tried to take some of the worry off of her.

Zoey giggled a bit at that. Yeah, she could totally imagine them at their throats like every other day.

“As long as she doesn’t draw her Gok-Do Abby will be fine.” It was Romance joining them. He took little Jack from Mira when he saw the grabby hands towards him, cooing at the boy. “Right, Jack? Not that she didn’t draw it on Daddy already. More than once.” Romance smirked, winking at the boy.

Jack giggled, having no idea what he meant, but he sounded so cheerful.

Mira rolled her eyes at him, while the others laughed silently. Yes. That sounded a whole lot like their terror pinkie.

“I can only imagine the antics.” Rumi snorted, watching them. As long as everything was light this morning, all was fine. She knew the doom would settle in quickly.

“You have no idea.” A low grumble, followed by a yawn.

“It has been well deserved. All 13 times.” Mira shot back, crossing her arms when Abby had joined her with a chuckle.

“Sure. Just try to convince yourself.” he teased, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. And for the first time, Mira didn’t stumble away flustered or anything. Her scowl softened into a small grin, leaning into him.

Oh, how the tables have turned, Rumi thought. She watched them, smiling softly at the open display of affection. She was happy for her friend. And a little happy that Mira finally let her guard down in front of them.

One after another joined them in the kitchen, soon a half loud conversation over eating, laughing here and there and in between a little boy climbing up the cupboards filling the room. Sure, Abby and Mira looked close to a stroke while they tried to coax their little one down the highest cupboard, but it made for good laughter.

“Let’s hope it’s a girl.” Jinu whispered to Rumi, blinking at the desperate parents in front of him.

“Who says a girl wouldn’t do that?” Rumi asked, raising a brow at the expression of her husband. “You have no idea what kind of menace I have been.” She shrugged, smirking at his exasperated face.

“What do you mean ‘have been’. As far as I am concerned, you still are.” Zoey grinned, wiggling her brows toward Rumi. Both giggled when Jinu simply shook his head while standing up and muttering something about ‘damn hunters and their antics’ under his breath.

With breakfast over, the mood started to shift inside the headquarters. While the boys could draft clothes out of thin air, Mira didn’t have that much luck. She was glad for their costume room, going in to change and quickly coming back in the famous black leather outfit. She deemed it perfect for their quest.

“Wooh, Mira. Sexy as ever.” Romance winked at her when she returned, earning a glare from Abby. He only chuckled.

Rumi was at her side in an instant, braiding long pink hair into two french braids. “It won’t bother you that way.” she explained. It was practical and couldn’t fall in her face when tightly braided. And Mira would need all of her vision, Rumi was sure of that.

Jinu and Baby had turned up too, both in practical yet relatively normal clothing. Baby for once wasn’t wearing an oversized sweater but rather a simple shirt which wouldn’t restrict his movements. They both huddled around Rumi and Mira, trying to plan out some tactics beforehand.

“Tell us what you know about Celine’s fighting.” Jinu asked, not anyone in particular.

“She’s a bitch.” Baby started, getting a pillow to the head.

“Language!” Abby warned, holding Jack's ears closed.

Baby shot him a cocky grin.

“I mean it. She doesn’t fight “fair”, if you could ever call a fight with a hunter fair. No offense.” he added quickly.

“None taken” Rumi and Zoey offered.

“Fully taken.” Mira shot back, making Baby’s smirk wider.

“She cannot summon a weapon out of the Honmoon anymore.” Rumi said, still finishing up the braiding. “As soon as a new generation of hunters have drawn their weapons for the first time, this ability is slowly fading from us until it stops once the training is completed for the new hunters.”

“She’s fighting with a sickle anyway. A real one.” Zoey added, making airquotes at ‘real’. “And she’s still sharp and quick as she has been.”

“There, all done.” Rumi smiled at her handiwork, hugging Mira closely. “She’s a ball of wrath and I’m sure it just builded up over the last years since the Idol Awards.”

“Not quite sure how much she knows about all of this..” Mira motioned around the room, “But I’m sure she knows enough to hold it against us. She won’t show any faults or fears.”

“Your faults and fears must never be seen.” All three girls recollected in unison.

“I am able to suppress them, she’s beaten that Mantra into me more than once. Quite literally.” Mira rolled her eyes, “So be careful to let any emotion slip. She will use it as leverage against us.”

That was a lot to take in. Jinu huffed a breath, eyebrows drawn together in thought.

“Alright, that sounds exactly how I thought it would be.” he mumbled, having his arms crossed.

“Don’t show your demon.” Mystery piped up. “Try to stay as humanly as possible. Use that against her. It’s easy for hunters to slay down obvious demons, I’m sure she would have a hard time slaying you in your human form. After all, that’s who she was sworn to protect. If she sees the human in you, she might be reluctant to make the first strike.

But do not, and I repeat, do not let that fool you. She will strike as soon as you make a wrong move. Or say a wrong word.”

“What kind of reverse psychologist are you?” Baby raised a brow, but grinned all the same. Who would have thought?

Mystery just shrugged. “In my time, tactics was all we had to survive.” And that was that.

“And, not only for my personal gain, don’t bring me up. I’m sure it will only feed her anger.” Rumi said quietly, sighing.

“Okay, got it. Be careful, she’s a bitch.” Jinu nodded.

“LANGUAGE!” Abby barked, scowling.

The others erupted in a laugh.

Jinu grinned at Abby, winking at him, when he heard Jack ask “What’s a bitch?” and Abby struggled to explain.

Then, it was time. Rumi wrapped her arms around Jinu, pressing her face in his chest. She was crying yet again. Damn these hormones. “Please come back home safe.” she mumbled as he returned her hug and kissed the top of her head.

“I will, promise.” he breathed, holding her tighter. He knew just as well as she did, that the possibility of him returning home was as high as the possibility of him dying today, again, and being sent back to hell entirely. But he was determined. For her. For their child. For their whole family, each and everyone of those people here with him. He cupped his wife’s cheeks in his hands and brought them together for a kiss, that he hoped wasn’t their last.

Mira had wandered over to Abby and Jack, kneeling in front of the little boy and smiling at him. “Be a good boy for me, yes? And watch Appa for me, while I’m gone, okay?” she tilted her head in a grin, holding his tiny hand. “I love you, gremlin.”

The boy whimpered a bit, but tried to be strong, like his mother asked him to, though flew himself into her embrace anyway. Mira sighed, pressing him tightly against herself while peppering his tiny head with kisses. Oh she hoped she would see him again.

When she stood back up, Abby had followed her suit. He drew her closer, a hand resting on her waist. “Remember what I told you. Be careful. And come back. In one piece preferably.” he cocked a grin at the last part, but it didn’t reach his eyes.

“I will. Won’t get rid of me that easily.” Mira smirked, leaning in to play a lingering kiss on his lips.

Baby was wrapped up in a bear hug by Zoey, she would do the same as soon as she could to Mira and Jinu as well. “Promise to be a bit less Baby today, yes?” she sobbed, knowing his cocky attitude would kill him one day.

“Will try.” he answered, chuckling, rubbing her back.

“Okay, then, let’s go. Mira, hold onto me. I will teleport home to conceal us as long as I can. So we have the moment of surprise for us as long as possible.” he finally said.

And when Mira did as told, they vanished in a puff of pink smoke.

The room fell silent while they all retreated to the couch to sit together.

Jinu, Baby and Mira popped, expectedly up at Rumi’s and his house, the way toward the sacred grounds not as long from here. They started to make their way, walking in silence. It wasn’t long before they reached their destination, determination written all over them.

They had spread out in a formation, Jinu in the middle, Baby to his left and Mira to his right. She had drawn out her Gok-Do, watching their surroundings when she heard a whiz in the air.

The sound of blade against blade disrupted the silence. Mira held her stance, standing in front of Jinu and blocking the sickle coming down to his neck. She narrowed her eyes at the attacker, growling lowly.

“Celine.”

“Mira.”

Mira shoved the ex-huntress backwards, positioning herself in front of both demons.

Celine narrowed her eyes, drawing her blade up again. “Traitor.” she spat.

“Bitch.” Mira spat back, smirking dangerously.

Let the game begin.

Notes:

Got distracted with domestic fluff again~ sorry. I also realized that this is a whole lot Mira-Centric. Guess I can connect to her best.

I had quite the hard time coming up with it. If it was because of todays distractions in my private life or because I tried to think three chapters ahead while writing, I don't know.
However, suggestions are welcomed :)

Hope you enjoyed anyway :)

Chapter 7: Celine

Summary:

Mira and Jinu snapped their heads back toward the ex-huntress. Her gaze faltered ever so slightly, but it did. And Mira noticed. Baby almost had her. They just needed to let him do the damage on her. That’s when she heard the growl. Oh no.

Chapter Text

Celine moved toward the three of them, swinging her sickle down. Mira didn’t miss a beat, blocking the incoming strike with her own blade. She tried dancing around Celine, tried to coax her away from the both men, she was sworn to protect.

“What are you doing, Mira? You cannot save them from their fate.” Celine said calmly, while continuing her onslaught of strikes against the younger huntresses Gok-Do. “They aren’t worth it.”

Mira growled, trying so hard to keep Abby’s words in mind. ‘Anger will only make you blind.’ His voice echoed in her thoughts. She knew it was a try from Celine to get under her skin. To get her to lose control.

“Big words from someone killing one of our own.” she spat back, blocking yet another strike down. When given the chance she hurled up, raining down an onslaught of her own blade toward the ex-huntress to get the distance between her and the boys bigger.

Celine narrowed her eyes slightly, but kept composure otherwise. “What are you here for, Traitor?” she shot at Mira, gaining ground yet again.

Mira swirled around to get better position, barely dodging the sickle from sinking into her arm. Shit, she meant business. She needed to get the upper hand, come what may. That’s when a thought crossed her mind. Rumi said, she couldn’t draw a weapon from the Honmoon anymore, so Mira was sure, she couldn’t bend it to her will as well. She hoped at least. Mira began humming a note, the rainbow colored lines beginning to react an buzz at her voice. She shoved Celine again backwards, before reaching a hand out and bending and whirling the illuminated lines to her will. With some concentration and flicks of her wrist, she started wrapping the lines around Celine’s body. Please, work. Please do what I tell you, she thought to herself, her humming growing louder. The Honmoon bent to her will, wrapping around the ex-huntress.

Baby and Jinu had been in a defensive stance, following the fight closely. But when Mira started webbing, they shortly looked at each other. “What the fuck.” Baby mumbled. “Did you know that they could do that?”

“No.” Jinu breathed lowly, turning his eyes back to the scene in front of him.

While Mira’s note was steady and loudly echoing through the sacred grounds, she managed to wrangle Celine’s hands and feet into the Honmoon. She was immobile. When she was satisfied with her work, her voice silenced. Whew, she wasn’t sure that worked, but now that it did, it would open up a lot of possibilities.

“We’re here to talk.” Mira finally answered, lowering her Gok-Do. But boy, would she keep it in hand. No guard down for this one. Her chest was heaving from the effort of the fight, glancing back to the demons behind her.

Jinu stepped forward, once Mira nodded. Baby followed him with a bit of distance.

“Celine. My name is Jinu.” he began, eyebrows a bit drawn together.

“Hah, I know who you are. You’re the one betraying Rumi. You’re also the one she invited into her bed.” Celine was provoking, he knew that. She struggled against the Honmoon, but her eyes never left the three of them. A smirk went up on her face.

“Haneul” She looked toward Baby.

“Celine.” Baby smirked back. “It’s been a hot moment.”

Ah right, Baby mentioned something before. He had fought her, when she was still an active hunter. But Mira had raised an eyebrow anyway. Mh, so this was his real name, she supposed. She found it fitting, considering his deep blue eyes. Her attention turned back to Celine in an instant though.

“There’s really no need for hostility, Celine. We’re here for Scripts. And advice.” Jinu tried again, but earned a bark laugh.

“No hostility? You’ve turned three of mine into three of yours. And these handcuffs aren’t much friendly either.”

“Ah, shut up, hunter. Wasn’t killing one of your own enough, so you had to try again next gen? Twice?” Baby growled, shooting her a glare. Yeah, he wasn’t pretty fond of hunters, but these three girls had grown on him. Big time, too. And obviously he knew about Rumi. And just now, Celine would have been Mira’s death, if she hadn’t outsmarted Celine.

The ex-huntress only huffed at Baby, making his smirk widen even bigger.

“I know that you have felt it, last night.” Mira said, her tone calm but steady, “That wasn’t a normal attack.”

“Maybe you should stop pretending that they are capable of love and untangle yourselves off their grips, maybe then, the Honmoon won’t tear open this big.”

Ah, she had felt it. Mira knew she was still able to see and feel the Honmoon, yet was not able to manipulate it anymore.

“Bullshit.” Baby spat, his eyes glowing golden for a single moment. “It didn’t when Mi-yeong fell in love with one of ours.” He began drawing in on Celine. “It didn’t when they reproduced and it sure as hell didn’t when she birthed their daughter. It did however..” he continued, “..the moment you sank your blade into her. The moment you sank your blade into Hyeon-Jun, sending him back to Gwi-Ma instead of letting him protect his daughter.”

Mira and Jinu looked at him, why would he know so much detail about the whole ordeal? Unless… he was a witness.

Jinu had heard the rumors. Of the demon being entangled with a huntress. Of a child born of this forbidden union between sworn enemies. Of his punishment, that Gwi-Ma was cruelly and relentlessly bringing on him once he had returned back to the demon realm.

“The blade wasn’t meant for her.” Celine answered, holding the gaze of the so young seeming demon.

Baby bellowed a laugh. “I know, Celine. Did you ever tell her? Did you ever say a single fucking word, that this blade was meant for her?”

Mira and Jinu snapped their heads back toward the ex-huntress. Her gaze faltered ever so slightly, but it did. And Mira noticed. Baby almost had her. They just needed to let him do the damage on her. That’s when she heard the growl. Oh no.

“Don’t.” she hissed, grabbing Jinus’s, now patterned, wrist. “He’s almost got her. If I can contain my fury, you can as well, Jinu.”

That seemed to get through, for now, Mira just hoped he wouldn’t snap. Jinu was more than pissed off. He too needed to have a talk with Baby once this was over. He had no idea that the demon was a witness to what happened when Rumi’s parents died, respectively got sent back into the demon realm.

“That’s what I thought, huntress. She trusted you. You were all she had left, after you’ve taken everything from her. And you failed her. So miserably, that she ran into the arms of a demon, without a second thought.” Baby cocked a grin, that was so evil, it made Mira shutter. Asshole. But yes, undo her.

“Now, tell me Celine, will you make that same mistake again? Will you take the love from the daughter, as you did with her mother? Will you try to kill the child, unborn? Or do you want to wait, again, and try to kill it when she has given birth? Just like the last time, Celine.” Baby was standing only inches from Celine now, cocky as ever, his head tilted.  “So tell me ~hunter~... who is the real demon between the two of us?” The last words were merely a breath.

But he got her. She cracked. Silent tears fell down her face, staring with her mouth agape at the cocky grin in front of her.

“What do you want, Haneul?” It was nothing more than a whisper.

“Holy shit..” Mira breathed a spat, still having an iron grip on Jinu’s wrist. She felt his muscles clench and unclench under her palm, tugging him toward her. Better safe than sorry.

“Ahhh.. I like the cooperating Celine a lot better, than the attitude throwing bitch.” Baby chuckled, making his way back to Mira. “Tell her. She’s all yours.” He nodded once to each of them.

“Last night, the tear shouldn’t have happened.” Mira began, “We just had strengthened the Honmoon around us with the hunters song.” She sighed, still not releasing Jinu, who was now showing not only his patterns, but also the golden glowing eyes. She knew he would tear into Celine if she would let him. She also knew, all aside, Rumi would be genuinely upset about that.

“Has that happened before?” Mira demanded, looking sternly at her ex-mentor in front of her.

“It did. Once.” she replied, truthfully.

“Where can we find the scripts about that incident?” Mira pressed on, eyes narrowing.

Celine didn’t answer this time.

“You better talk, or I will release Rumi’s husband toward you. And I’m fairly certain that he is pretty pissed off alone from the thought of you might harming his wife and unborn child.” Mira sing-sang, making a motion to study her Gok-Do. “Or, I could finish you off myself. Because, holy shit, woman. You are a twisted kind of cunt.”

She couldn’t help herself. She was in her Napalm Era. And unnerved at that as well. She was surprised herself that she managed to stay this calm right now. Inside her was a storm of fury that wanted to break free and unleash on the ex-hunter in front of her.

“... the hut. By the graves. You’ll find all the historic records of the generations before us.” Celine finally gave in. The tears were still rolling down her cheeks, but she held their gazes.

“Thank you.” Baby winked at her. “Bitch.” He then turned and looked at Mira. “Tell me which way, I will take him with me. Keep watch over that one.”

Mira nodded her head behind her. “Down that path, you see the willow tree? To it’s left, around 50 steps away.”

“Thanks, love.” Baby winked at her and blew her a kiss, wrapping his arm around Jinu’s shoulder. “C’mon leader. Let’s retrieve those scripts to save the world.” He mumbled.

“Wait! Baby… her grave is behind the hut. Please, lay down some flowers and pay your respects to her.” Mira asked, giving a nod. She knew it would make Rumi happy. Especially when she knew that after they would fuck off and release Celine, there was no way coming back here again.

“Yes, will do.” He saluted, but he knew it was also important to Jinu to do just that to calm down. So off they went.

Mira returned her gaze to Celine, growling. “I’d love to cut your guts open and decorate the tree with them.”

“What keeps you from doing that?” Celine spat back, an unamused laugh on her lips.

“My humanity. And theirs. They have more than you will ever find in this or any other lifetime, murderer.” Mira chuckled lowly, dangerously.

“And now, be still, beloved mentor. Or I might lose my humanity for a short while here.” That grin that kept onto Mira’s face would have made Abby proud.

Celine huffed, not turning her gaze away from her ex-trainee.

It took a while for both men coming back. Jinu had glamoured his demon back again, looking like the man that arrived in this place. They were packed with books and lose scripts.

“All done, pinke. Let’s head back home, your big guy is probably running circles.” Baby chuckled, motioning for her to get back to him and hold on.

“We will be returning those. So they get back to where they belong.” Mira said to Celine, pointing at the documents. “We’re good humans. Well and demons.” She shrugged here, chuckling a bit. “I will release you know. You better stay where you are, or we will end you between the three of us.” It wasn’t a harmless threat. And the ex-hunter knew that too well.

Mira made her way back to Baby, reaching her hand out to string the Honmoon. And, the asshole that she was, she couldn’t help the song that came from her lips to have it bend to her will easier. And boy, did she stare with that shit eating grin into Celine’s face, making sure she understood every.damn.word.

“We are hunters voices strong.

Slaying demons with our song.

Fix the world and make it right.

When darkness lastly becomes the light.”

She released her ex-mentor and then they were gone in a cloud of pink smoke.

They popped back up into the hunters headquarters, all three of them breathing a huge sigh of relief.

“You got some serious explaining to do, Baby.” Jinu began, narrowing his eyes at Baby.

Baby just chuckled, walking over to the others on the couch.

“I will, don’t worry. But for now.. let’s sort out to find what we need.” he replied, sitting the box of books and scripts down on the coffee table.

“Hey fam, we got some surprise..” he teased, wiggling his brows at the others.

Eeesh, this guy. Mira shook her head, not even having a moment before she was wrapped up in a bear hug.

“I’m fine, I’m fine. She didn’t stand a chance.” Mira huffed, returning the hug anyway.

“Thank god. I’ve been so worried.” Abby sighed, kissing the side of her head.

Rumi was at Jinu’s side in an instant as well, jumping up on him and hanging on him like a monkey. He chuckled, not having a free hand since he too was packed up with scripts and books.

“You’re back!” Rumi pouted, looking up at him.

“You make it sound like it is wrong.” He raised a brow, giving her a smirk. No he would not let her know right now. Later, maybe. Later, when everything had settled down.

She just huffed, burying her face into his chest while letting herself carry back to the couch.

Well, then, let’s settle down and work through what this day had been.

An.. experience.

Notes:

Okay, I had a field day writing Baby. He's such a fun character to explore. At least this is what I have in mind for him. I like this chapter, the words just kept flowing down.

Poor Rumi though :(

That was all for today though, cause I need the sleep.

Hope you enjoyed ~

Chapter 8: Bobby

Summary:

“Whaa.. uhm. Ugh. Well, of course.” Bobby smiled, but it wasn’t a comfortable one. “Like I could ever say no to my girls.” His eye twitched visibly and he looked like he was about to have a stroke.

The girls all pumped their fists up triumphantly.

“Thanks, Bobby.” they sang in unison.

Chapter Text

The lot of them was huddled around the coffee table and the desired scripts, notes, books and whatnot on top of it. They just stared at them, as if they would lift their secrets when they were glared upon long enough. Obviously this didn’t work.

Mystery took one scroll, unrolled it and began to read. Eyes drifted toward him, Zoey peeking over his shoulder to read too. Yeah, no, she had no idea what was written there. Korean was her second language and though she got better with the years, this was a Korean she’d never seen before. She could make out some words here and there, but that was about it.

“What does it say?” she asked, raising a slender brow up.

Mystery didn’t look up from the text, humming some. Everyone was glued to the rather silent demon, studying him while the suspense was literally touchable.

“It’s a recipe for a cough remedy.” he finally answered, shrugging a bit.

The breath that went through the group was part amused, part annoyed.

“Jeez.” Jinu huffed, throwing his hands up. “You couldn’t have made it more nervewrecking, now do you?” His exasperated expression earned him a grin from Mystery.

“Well, this won’t get us anywhere near where we wanna be.” Romance piped in. “It will take weeks to sort it through, to read it all and to find what we’re looking for.”

They knew he was right. It was a lot. Baby and Jinu had taken everything, since they didn’t want to leave Mira too long alone with Celine. Ah, Celine. Mira. Honmoon - there was something.

“What was that about you trying out bondage on that ex-hunter with the Honmoon?” Baby asked, a brow raised at Mira in question.

She looked over to him, shrugging. “Was a try. Didn’t know if it would work. Did work. Gave me at least 349 ideas on how to use it from now on.” she answered.

“Like on Abby?” Baby’s grin widened disgustingly while the pink haired demon choked on a breath.

“Maybe.” Mira replied, matching his smirk.

“Hello? I’m sitting right here.” Abby complained, scowling at the both of them.

“We do too. Thank you. I will never get that image out of my head.” Jinu complained, rubbing his face with both hands.

“You did what?” Rumi had been catching on late, but she was busy with her phone in between.

Mira shrugged again. “I hummed. Honmoon reacted. I took a string and wrapped Celine up like a nice, tight gift. Pretty sure if I wouldn’t have done that, you could actually try to sew limbs back on my body again.” She seemed so nonchalant about it, like it was an every day deed.

Her answer had Rumi drawing her brows in thought. “Show me.” she asked, her gaze back toward the pink haired woman.

Mira sighed a breath, before humming a note. When the Honmoon reacted, she took a string of it and let it flow toward Zoey. She gently wrapped a wrist of the black haired maknae into the rainbow line, before releasing it immediately again.

“Whaaa..” Zoey gasped, watching her wrist, the Honmoon and lastly Mira. “Since when can we do that?”

“Since today, I guess.” Mira answered, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

“This will.. come in handy.” Rumi was still in thoughts.

The others were glancing between Zoey and Mira. What just happened.

“Pretty sick, huh?” Baby finally asked, wiggling his brows.

“Indeed. Interesting, too.” Mystery mused, taking Zoey’s wrist to inspect it. She let him do whatever to her wrist, eyes back to Mira.

“Teach me. I need it. For reasons.” Zoey’s look was so serious, it made the group laugh.

“Do we wanna know those reasons?” Mira laughed, having Zoey shake her head vigorously. She might wasn’t so sweet and innocent as she seemed.

“Back to the important thing though.” Jinu began, earning a huff from beside him.

“This is pretty important. Imagine the possibilities.” Rumi began, flailing her arms. “Demons moving like yesterday toward us? Woosh, wrapped up in Honmoon galore. You annoy the heck out of me? Bam, caught in Honmoon.” Her fist was slamming into her other hand, looking so serious before cracking a smirk.

Jinu drew his brows together. “Wait, what?”

Another laugh erupted through the group.

“No, no, I wouldn’t do that. Well maybe I would...” Rumi began smirking, “You’re right and I’m a step ahead. Again.” She winked at him, before elaborating. “I texted Bobby. He should be turning up here soon. Asked him a favor. Still need to talk to him too. With the girls.”

“Love, we know it makes sense there..” Baby started, tapping Rumi’s forehead, “..but it doesn’t make sense out here..” he motioned to the rest of them. They were all puzzled by Rumi’s rambling, looking at her like she was had three heads.

“Be patient. It will make sense, once our manager is turning up.” Rumi scowled, sticking her tongue toward the blue haired boy.

While the group was sitting there, picking up some books and scripts here and there, Jack had woken up from his nap on the couch, crawling between legs and on the coffee table.

“Wha’s dis?” he asked, grabbing a rather old roll. One that looked like it would fall apart the second one would look at it wrong.

“Jack! No!” Mira and Abby both yelped, stumbling toward the boy.

Said boy thought that could be a very fun game, so he cracked a smirk and jumped off the table to take off quickly. And in an instant, he had a whole group of hunters and demons chasing him, trying to catch him while he was giggling loudly and avoiding arms by running through legs and under furniture.

Through all the commotion, no one saw Bobby coming through the elevator doors, his bright smile soon replaced by a confused look. He watched the adults chase the toddler, who had something in his tiny grabby hands that looked very valuable. When Jack passed him, he came to a skidding halt, grinning up. “Uncle Bobby!”

“Grab him!” Abby called, sighing a breath of relief when Bobby scooped the boy up.

“Thank you.” Mira was out of breath, running over to them to grab the roll. “No, Kwan. Just, no. Stop being like your father.” she scolded, releasing a breath she didn’t realize she was holding.

“Uhhh.. so Hi girls.” Bobby said, hoisting the boy against his hip.

“Hi Bobby.” Huntrix replied.

Rumi was leaning against her husband, a hand to her chest to catch her breath. Zoey had tumbled down on the couch, legs tangling over the back of it, while Mira walked back to the table to place the roll back.

Bobby made, like the rest, his way over to the couch, setting a squirming toddler down on the floor before taking a seat. Before Jack could be up to mischief again, Abby had scooped him over his shoulder.
“Don’t even think about it.” he warned his son, sitting down as well.

“Sooo.. uhm. Yes. Hi, y’all. Didn’t realize it was a party, but, the more the merrier.” Bobby began, his smile returning to his face. “What was it that you wanted to talk about?”

With them all taking a seat again, Rumi began.

“Well, this.” She let her hand wander over the coffee table. “We need a little favor, please.”

“Everything for my favorite lead-vocalist.” Bobby beamed, smiling, when Rumi smiled big at him.

“This is very important stuff that we need.. uh for our next show in two weeks.” she nodded firmly as if she was super duper serious about said show, “But it’s all unsorted and strewn about. Could you, like, pretty please, make copies of this and have it sorted out for us?”

“Preferably ordered by date.” Mira added, giving her best puppy eyes. Zoey had joined Rumi and Mira as well, as soon as she caught on.

“And by topic… Pleaaaaseeee Bobby~” Zoey sang, folding her hands up in front of her like a prayer.

“Whaa.. uhm.

The boys just exchanged looks between them. Like they wouldn’t know about the strong grip Huntrix had on their manager. They had him tightly wrapped around their, well manicured, little fingers. He didn’t even question their antics anymore. He wasn’t in the picture either with the whole demon/hunter dynamic.

“Is.. is that all?” Bobby asked, obviously pretty nervous they wanted him to try and find Atlantis next.

“Well, no. But in private.” Rumi said, standing up and motioning her bandmates to do the same. She pointed over to the kitchen area, walking ahead with their manager and her girls following her.

Bobby looked defeated. These girls.. he loved them so dearly, but they would be the death of him. He followed them suit anyway.

“So, what is it?” he finally asked, having taken a seat on a stool at the kitchen island, across from all three girls smiling at him. He was scared- what was next? Maybe Mira wanting tattoos? Maybe Zoey deciding to bring huge turtles for their next show? Rumi deciding to go Pixie cut?

“I’m pregnant.” Rumi said, matter of factly.

“And I’m engaged.” Zoey added, nodding.

Ahhh… thank god. Bobby sighed in relief. Wait, what.

“WHAAAAT?”

The shout made all Saja Boys snap their heads toward the four across the room.

Bobby looked at the girls in front of him, mouth opening and closing like a fish.

“And you?” he shot at Mira, eyes wide.

“Oh nothing. Just feeling pure hatred, as usual.” she shrugged nonchalantly, looking at her nails.

Visualize: him on the bahamas. With a cocktail. Retired.

“This.. well this..” Bobby began, his eyes watering up with tears. But, they were happy tears. “Oh girls… This is so great. Devastatingly hard for the industry and career ending, but so great for you privately.”

He got up and squeezed Rumi and Zoey in a bear hug.

The girls giggled, returning the hug wholeheartedly.

“Thank you, Bobby.” Rumi beamed a smile, a small blush on her cheeks.

“Yes, thank you.” Zoey giggled, patting his back.

“Soo.. did you already figure out how we are going about it?” he asked when he released the girls, already having his tablet out to take notes.

“No. Not yet. The last two days have been… uh.. kinda hectic and we have yet to talk with just the three of us and with the Saja Boys about this all.” Rumi answered. They hadn’t yet the time to actually talk strategy.

“Alright, I guess you’re not far along yet?” Bobby asked, typing some.

“9 weeks, now. So yes, not far along.” Rumi replied, nodding.

“And you won’t marry until…?” He looked at Zoey.

“Ahaha guess like, at least a year? So much to figure out and plan.” she answered, nodding along as well.

“Okay. Could you, like, come up with something until the next show?” he asked again, typing some more.

“Probably.. if you could really make sure, to take care of those scripts for us.” Rumi said, beaming again a smile.

“What are they taking so long?” Jinu asked, watching the girls interact with their manager.

“Relax, lover boy. You’ll get your wifey back quickly.” Abby teased, wiggling his brows before getting smacked.

“Oh, shush.” Jinu grumbled, crossing his arms. He watched Jack sneaking away from his fathers arms, breathing out when he realised the boy was wandering towards his mother. And not the scripts again.

Mira picked her son up, when she felt the tug, finally snuggling a bit into him. She hadn’t done so, since she had returned. She nuzzled his check with her nose, making him giggle.

“... so I guess that wraps it up. Do you want me to give the “Dad”-Talk to Jinu?” Bobby asked, raising a brow at the purple haired singer.

“Bobby…” she sighed, blushing. “He’s my husband. It’s too little too late for the “Dad”-Talk. But I appreciate your concern.” A small chuckle from her, making Bobby laugh as well.

“Alright girls, Jack, I will head out with those boxes to get them as quickly sorted and copied for you as I can. Send big guy and Mr. Leader to help me.” He turned on his heels, not even thinking about carrying anything out.

“Abs, Jinu. Over here. Bring those boxes.” Mira commanded, her eye twitching at their complaining. “Pronto.” She added in that no nonsense tone.

Both men hurriedly did as they were told, grabbing everything up and following Bobby out.

“So, I guess time to go back home?” Zoey finally asked, jumping down from the stool she was sitting on.

“Mmmyep. I need a bath. A hot one. Undisturbed.” Mira sighed, making her way back over to the couch.

Rumi and Zoey followed her, Zoey crossing her arms behind her neck, Rumi her arms in front of her chest.

“So, party’s over - Everyone back home.” Rumi said when they joined the boys. “Let us all get some down time after all of.. that.”

“Meeting tomorrow?” Baby asked, hands in pockets.

Abby and Jinu had returned by then, joining their women's sides.

“Yes. Afternoon. We got practice in the morning, Studio by lunch.” Zoey said, having joined Mystery. He had wrapped his arm around her waist in an instant, smiling some at her.

“Same. Let’s meet up at 5 in the noon at our place.” Jinu offered to them. When they all nodded, he wrapped his arm around Rumi’s shoulders. “Good, see you in the morning at the studio.” He meant obviously his boys, having to take turns because of Jack. It was well trained by now that they would switch places to either group could watch the little one, and still have time to work undisturbed. With that, he and Rumi were gone in a smoke of pink.

“Let’s poof out of here, too, Myst.” Zoey giggled, jumping on his back in a piggy ride. They too were gone in an instant.

The rest followed suit, except for Mira and Abby. “You’re poofing out of here as well? I’ll take the car in the garage. And Jack.” she offered, looking up at her partner.

“Will do.” Abby answered, stealing a kiss before he, too, went off in a pink cloud.

“Let’s head home, baby. Mommy needs a bath. Desperately.” Mira sighed, making her way toward the elevator.

Chapter 9: The Scars are part of me

Summary:

She was engulfed in the warmth of the water, breathing in and out to try and relax. Her body was still sore from the fighting yesterday and today. Another mental note made - book a massage. The door cracked open, making her look over.

“Abby..” she smiled, watching him take a seat beside the tub.

Chapter Text

The car ride back home was a good time for Mira to let her thoughts wander. Jack was busy listening to children’s songs in the back, clapping and singing along with every one. That’s what you got when your parents were Idols.

Mira was thinking about the things Baby had revealed while they were with Celine. Thousand thoughts raced through her head, thinking herself in circles. It was a lot to take in, and she felt the fury rising up again at the flashbacks in her mind.

Celine was one of a kind. Mira had admired her when she first started training as Idol and demon hunter. Her composure, her strength.. everything was admirable. Mira wanted to be like her, back then, having her own emotions under control and being a well respected member of the industry. And those hunting abilities. The smooth work with her weapon, the precise strikes on those demons. Mira was in awe back then.

Now? Well now she loathed her. How could she do, what she had done? To her fellow huntress? To her niece, of all people? She was a mother now, and just the thought of someone wanting to kill her child because he was.. different, made her blood boil. She remembered when he was just born, tiny, helpless. So dependent on his parents. Mira let out a breath she was holding, trying to calm herself down.

It wasn’t long before she pulled into the private garage at their apartment complex, parking the car and taking the elevator to their loft. She was glad it was an exclusive building in Seoul, so that she didn’t need to fear being seen with her son. And if, there were NDA’s in place, so they would be safe.

She arrived with a ding, the doors opening and Jack running off toward the living room. Abby had been there a while, since his form of transportation was way quicker than taking a car.

“Hey, you two.” he huffed, when Jack tackled his legs, hoisting the boy up. “I’ve drawn you a bath, figured you could need it.” he added, smiling when Mira came along.

“Thank you. Yes, I do. And I need you.” Mira replied, rolling her eyes at the stupid grin he shot her. “Not like that, dumbass. I need to talk. Maybe have him watch a movie?” She nodded her chin to their son.

“Okay okay. Got it.” Abby chuckled, making his way to the couch to turn on the tv for the little one. “I’ll join you in a couple of minutes.” He offered, not looking up from picking out a movie for the toddler.

Mira left for the bathroom, stripping her clothes on the way. When she entered the bedroom, she groaned. Ah, yes. Deep clean. She knew she forgot something. Ah well, she couldn’t be bothered right now. At least, she picked up the clothes to throw them in the hamper, making her way into the bathroom. Of course they had someone coming up to clean regularly, but she was very picky about their bedroom. It was too private to let someone else in. Mental note made - clean that damn room.

She was engulfed in the warmth of the water, breathing in and out to try and relax. Her body was still sore from the fighting yesterday and today. Another mental note made - book a massage. The door cracked open, making her look over.

“Abby..” she smiled, watching him take a seat beside the tub.

“Sit up.” he said, taking a sponge and beginning to run it over her back when she did what she was asked. It felt.. amazing. Soothing. Warm. Mira let out a deep sigh. “What did you want to talk about?”

“About what happened today. It was… so disturbing.” Mira began, bringing her knees up and resting her chin on them with her arms wrapped around her shins. She relaxed into the soft touch of the sponge, closing her eyes.

Abby didn’t look up from his work, letting the silence stretch between them.

“Baby… Baby’s name is Haneul, did you know that?” she asked, still taking in today.

“Yes, I did. I know all their real names, as well as they do know mine.” he answered, offering her a smile.

Mira smiled too. “Mhm, I figured as much. It’s not like they’d use Kyung often though.” If she thought about it, they were never calling themselves or each other by their real names. Well except for Jinu. He didn’t have any on stage or demon persona besides, well, himself.

“Bad habit, I guess.” Abby chuckled. He had disregarded the sponge to rub soothing circles into the knots and sores of Mira’s back. She breathed a long breath, relaxing even more into his touch. If he kept that up, she’d be putty in his hands very quickly. But her overused muscles needed the kneading.

“It was crazy. Really crazy. Devastating. I.. I don’t know where to start. There’s so much to unpack here.” Mira had cracked her eyes open a bit, her brows drawn together. “Celine, she.. ugh. She confirmed that she didn’t mean to kill Rumi’s mother… but Rumi herself. She said it so nonchalantly too.. ‘The blade wasn’t meant for her’” Mira recalled, quoting her ex-mentor. She felt tears stinging in her eyes. “She killed Mi-yeong. She killed Rumi’s father and sent him back to the demon realm. She wanted that blade for Rumi. Rumi was a newborn. She was… she was helpless.” A single tear had cracked free, running down her cheek.

Abby watched her closely, rubbing her back up and down to try and calm her down. He didn’t say a word though, letting her speak her mind so she could get closure.

“Baby was a witness. He watched it happen. And even if he tried to be so cruel about it.. I could hear his hurt. I could feel it radiating off him. It was.. weird. He’s such a menace to society, I didn’t think anything could hurt him. He was so hurting, Abby. For Rumi. For her father. For Mi-yeong.” More tears were spilling silently over her cheeks, drawing in a silent sob.

“He’s not that much of an asshole, as you think, Mira. Yes, he is a menace to society and is annoyingly blunt.. but don’t forget, he is carrying his bit too. He’s seen a lot during the past 500 years.” he answered quietly, placing a kiss on her shoulder.

“And yet he didn’t lose his humanity…” The sob escaping Mira’s throat was louder this time. She breathed in and out, trying to calm herself down. “Celine is.. she is a god damn murderer. She.. I should’ve let Jinu tear into her. I should’ve made minced meat out of her with my blade. She doesn’t deserve any better.” Oh, Mira was bitter. How could someone, who she had trusted and admired so deeply, be such a monster.

“Mh.” Abby looked at her, bringing her back close to himself. His chin rested on her shoulder, arms wrapped around her as she leaned into him. “At last, she took Rumi in though, raised her, trained her to be a hunter. Found you and Zoey for her.” He knew he was gambling here, but trying so hard to offer comfort.

Mira spat a humorless laugh. “And told her, time and time again, to hide herself. Let her feel that she was a mistake. Hell, Abby, Rumi asked Celine to kill her after the Idol Awards. She even offered her Saingeom to finish the job.” Mira remembered the time after Rumi had told them what had happened at the sacred grounds. Zoey and her didn’t leave Rumi out of their sight for a single moment, always afraid that she was going to take her own life after all. It changed the moment the boys returned from the demon realm and Jinu joined her side again.

“I didn’t know that.” Abby said quietly, his hands rubbing soothing circles into her arms. “Jinu never told us. I had a feeling she wasn’t good when we got back, but I didn’t know how bad it was.” He knew their leader was a good imposter, trickster and liar. He wasn’t without reason one of Gwi-Ma’s high-ranking commands. Sometimes, like with these things, it came in handy he guessed. It saved Rumi’s privacy and no one needed to feel ashamed for making her feel this way. He took the brunt by himself.

“Maybe it’s best for all of you, though. Jinu just took it on himself, so you could heal in peace and not endanger your redemption.” Mira said his thoughts aloud, as if she had heard his thoughts.

“Mhm, maybe.” he hummed, placing another kiss, this time on her neck.

Her eyes closed, tilting her head a bit to make space for him. “I’m not sure how to tell Rumi. She deserves to know, but I don’t.. I don’t want to break her. She’s so vulnerable, especially -now-. Stress is so dangerous for her right now.”

“She doesn’t need to know today, love. Your thoughts are running circles, it’s best to leave it for today and rest.” Abby looked up at her, smiling some. “There’s still time for all of that to unpack another day. We should let her rest, the past two days have been surely straining for her.”

“Yeah.. you’re right.” Mira sighed a heavy breath before sitting up and stretching her back. “Let me finish up. You should take a look after the gremlin. It’s suspiciously quiet, if you ask me.”

“Yes, Ma’am.” Abby chuckled, stealing one more kiss of her before getting up and wandering toward the door. “I’ll start dinner, too.”

Mira watched him leave, a soft smile playing on her lips. Yeah, she didn’t think this was possible a couple years ago. She didn’t think that she would love a demon and despise a hunter. Things had turned in a direction, no one could foresee.

She finished up her bath before getting out and dressed in a big shirt and some shorts underneath. Her wet hair was up in a messy bun, glasses on her nose when she joined her boys in the living room.

“Dinner’s ready in 20” Abby informed her, sitting on the couch and scrolling on his phone to read the messages that had been coming in from their joined group chat.

“The bunch is discussing what to do about the baby. And the wedding.” he said when Mira sat beside him, her legs spread on his lap. Jack was sitting snuggled up into Abby’s other side, staring at the tv in front of him while chewing his tiny index finger.

Mira plucked his finger out his mouth, looking back up at her partner. “Any constructive ideas yet?”

“Well Baby said, they could always say Rumi had one too many Kimbab and just turned fat.” he chuckled seeing the angry emojis coming from the purple haired half demon. Mira too chuckled quietly when she watched the screen.

“Ro suggests wide costumes for the three of you when she starts showing.” he continued, finding this a rather helpful thought.

“Rumi suggests all of you three getting pregnant at the same time, so you’re getting big together.” Abby laughed, typing in a reply. Mira looked over at his screen, watching him type out

Take Jack for a couple nights, and we’re in ;)’

Mira swatted his shoulder, rolling her eyes.

“Abby. Really.” She couldn’t help the laugh though.

“What? It’s true. Like we would have time.. or space to actually get on it. I’d love to ravage you through the whole loft, but you know..” he grinned at her and pointed at their son, peeking up when he heard the ping on the stove.

“Dinner time. Get up, Jack. Go and wash your hands. Eomma will help you.” He ordered, the little boy nodding, but not moving.

Mira let out a long breath at his remark, shaking her head. She picked her son up though to help him wash his hands so they could eat and get ready for bed.

It wasn’t long after dinner when they were finally settling in for the night. Jack had fallen asleep on top of his mother, snuggled tightly into her. Mira had her legs crossed at the ankles, caressing his little back and scrolling through some social media. She laughed quietly at a stupid post, drawing up her partners attention.

“What’s up?” he asked, raising a brow.

“You remember when I went out with Ro? When we were trying to get inspiration for our joined show costumes?” she asked, still laughing quietly.

“Mmyep, I do. He came back saying I would look ‘hot’ in a tight black dress.” And then proceeded to show him said dress on his phone, which Abby was sure wouldn’t even fit over his shoulders. He rolled his eyes at the thought.

“Well, seems like Dispatch caught us. Look, we’re already halfway married.” Mira showed him her phone with the headline opened up:

Sajatrix - Miroma real - wedding bells soon?

Abby had to quiet the barked laugh, shaking his head.

“They will never get anything straight or right. Last time it was Zoey and me dating. Myst was shuddering himself for a whole week. Then I apparently got a fling with Rumi too, and the relationship I have with Jinu is something I need to explore as well.” he chuckled, shaking his head.

“Ah, yes. You and Jinu. I remember. Especially his face. It looked so green.” Mira remembered. “That’s what you get for being such a flirt.” she added.

“Like it’s my fault you all want a piece of me.” he grinned back at her.

Mira shook her head, rolling her eyes at him. “Bobby already texted me, he is doing damage control. Poor man works hard for his 3%. Maybe we should get him a raise.” she mused, nodding to herself. “I’ll talk to the girls about it.”

“He sure as hell deserves it. You guys put him through the meatgrinder day and night. I’m surprised he didn’t die yet in a cardiac arrest.” Abby laughed quietly, remembering poor Bobby’s face earlier this day.

Obviously it didn’t take long for the group chat to buzz up with one message after another. Mira opened it to read the messages.

Good night.’

Mira laughed quietly at them, loving their interactions. It was just so natural, even after a day like that. She loved it being so weightless.

She too bid them goodnight via text, setting her phone back on the nightstand before scooting down.

“Let’s try to sleep. Alarm is going in a couple hours and I have still to come up with a whole choreo for our joined show.” Mira sighed and put Jack down between them. He, yet again, had one of her strands wrapped around his finger, sleeping contently.

“Yes, yes. Sounds good.” Abby agreed, yawning before settling in as well, turning the nightlight off.

The dark washed over, sleep finding them easily after the past two exhausting days.

They would all figure it out. They would find a way to talk to Rumi, they would find out what just had happened yesterday. Together.

Chapter 10: Show me what's underneath

Summary:

“She’s with Bobby upstairs in the office.” Rumi replied, shrugging one shoulder a bit. “He wanted to talk to her about something. Anyway… since you checked out last night pretty early, let me fill you up.” she offered a smile.

“~My little Soda Pop~” Mira sing-sang,

Chapter Text

‘What do you want, Traitor?’ Clashing of blades, heartrate so high, she could hear it thumping in her ears, breathless. Then came the nausea. She was sick to her stomach. ‘The blade wasn’t for her.’ She felt the tears in her eyes, threatening to break free.

Mira woke up with a breath sucked in. She shot up, her body still shivering and glistening with sweat. Her heart beat fast, a palm placed on her chest as if that would be enough to calm it down. Her other hand came up to her face, feeling the wet sensation on her cheek. She was crying.

“Hey.. hey. It’s alright. You’re home. You’re safe.” It was nothing more than a whisper, Mira turned her head to its source. Looked like she had woken Abby up, he was already sitting up besides her, his palm staying on the small of her back to steady her.

“I.. what.” She blinked a couple of times, wanted to get rid of the sting in her eyes.

“It was a nightmare. It’s alright, darling. c’mere..” Abby hummed, drawing Mira in close to his chest. He’d been up a while now, since Mira had started to mumble in her sleep and began tossing and turning. He’d brought Jack to his own room, wanted to prevent the boy getting squished or woken up by his mother. It was still pitch black outside, she didn’t know the time though.

She let herself be pulled in, clinging tightly to the bare chest and closing her eyes to just listen to his heartbeat. It steadied her. Calmed her down. Mira let out a long breath in a try to calm down her irregular breathing. Her eyes were still closed when she spoke up. “I want to destroy this bitch.”

Abby couldn’t help himself, but chuckle lowly. “I know, love. I know.” he replied, his hand wandering up and down her back to reassure her.

It seemed to work, Mira leaning more into his touch and finally began to calm down entirely. “Thank you.” she mumbled, breathing him in. She could still smell a hint of his shower, pine and something.. warm. Like Home. “For listening to me and sitting this through with me, too. I love you.” It was just a breath, but she meant it.

“Mhm, I love you too, darling.” he hummed, bringing his hands up to her face so he could cup it and tilt it up at him. “It’s alright. You’re alright.” His thumbs wiped over her cheek to dry the last of her tears before bringing her face closer to his and claiming her lips softly.

Mira shot her eyes close when their lips met, relaxing into him while she returned his lazy play on her lips with her own. When he pulled back from her, his forehead rested against hers.

“Try go back to sleep?” he asked, tilting his head to leave a small kiss on her forehead.

“Don’t know if I can, honestly. Don’t wanna go back there, again.” she replied with a sigh, her eyes still closed against his touch. A smirk spread across her face. “Might need some help to get tired again.”

Abby looked up at her, then cocked the same smirk. “Mhhh.. I’d have an idea how to help.”

Before Mira could reply, he had claimed her lips again. This time it was hungry, demanding. She let him take over the lead, opening up to him when he deepened the kiss. In a swift motion he pressed her back against the mattress, crawling over her to settle himself on top of her. He would make her tired again, alright.

Morning came soon for Mira, her alarm sounding into the quiet of the room. She groaned, tapping her nightstand for her phone to silence the beeping of the alarm. Once the annoying beeping silenced, she huffed a breath and sat up. Jack wasn’t between them like usually. He must’ve slept through the night in his own bed. A win, honestly. She let her gaze wander over to the sleeping pile of blankets that was Abby, smiling some. Leaning over she placed a soft kiss on his head, which let him stir a bit. “It’s alright, sleep.” she hushed before finally getting out of bed and over to the bathroom to get ready for practice. Since the boys were huddled this morning in the Studio to get lyrics onto paper, they would have the first shift of watching her son.

When she changed her clothes from the comfort of a sleeping shirt and shorts into something more accommodate for dance practice, she looked at herself in the mirror. A grin cracked over her face when she was the small love bites all around her upper body. It was nothing good make up could conceal. She had to put on heavy make up anyway considering her wounds from the past days fighting. But also, the girls would not let her hear the end of it later. The thought made her chuckle, finishing up getting ready to head out.

While in the elevator she fished her phone out, tapping onto one the group chat with her girls, letting them know that she was on her way to their practice room.

Rumi was already there when Mira arrived, having Jinu with her.

“Morning lovebirds.” she nodded, setting her bag down and fishing her bottle of water out of it.

“Morning, Mir. Got a good nights rest..” Rumi began, turning toward her bandmate and immediately cracked a grin. “I guess I don’t need to ask, huh?” she snorted, wiggling her brows at the magenta haired woman. So she wasn’t playing around in the group chat last night, seeing Mira’s neck stating the obvious nightly activities.

“Mmmyep.” Mira smirked, winking at her leader. “Where’s Zoey?”

The black haired woman always came later, usually with some kind of beverage. Or something to eat. Or something else she got sidetracked with.

“She’s with Bobby upstairs in the office.” Rumi replied, shrugging one shoulder a bit. “He wanted to talk to her about something. Anyway… since you checked out last night pretty early, let me fill you up.” she offered a smile.

~My little Soda Pop~” Mira sing-sang, making both Jinu and Rumi laugh lightly.  “I’m all ears Queen.”

“Well.. we might came up with something for Babygeddon.” the purple haired singer began, crossing her arms. The term made Mira chuckle. “You remember the notes I gave you for the piano before?”

“You mean the duet?” Mira raised a brow, crossing her own arms.

“Mhm, exactly. I am.. well I am sick of hiding and denying and what have you..” Rumi sighed, “Sooo.. I wanna come clean. But - you don’t have to if you don’t want to! It will be fine if it’s just Jinu and I. So I figured when I start showing, we should have a joined concert - the song will confirm what has been rumored since years.”

Mira just looked at her, expression unreadable for a moment.

“Uhh.. so well yeah. I would love to sing acoustic, so it would amazing if you could play the piano to accompany our voices.” Rumi smiled a bit, not able to read Mira’s expression at all.

“Mh.” A mumble, Mira watching Jinu and Rumi for a long moment. “Fine with me. If you come clean, I will too. Obviously need to talk to the big guy beforehand though.”

“Really? You don’t have to, but I mean, it would be great. Like I imagined us unveiling our secrets together, but I didn’t expect you to willingly jump into the ice cold water.” Oh, this was going to be great. If Zoey decided to get in on it as well they could show off strong together and it might lessen the backlash.

“Yes, I know I don’t have to, but I want to. It would make things a bit easier with the little one.” Mira nodded. And she knew just how bad Jack wanted to see his Mommy sing and dance on the stage. He could only see her, or Abby, on the tv right now so it wouldn’t raise suspicion.

Rumi squeaked. “Awesome. I have so many ideas for it too. Let’s talk about them in the studio later.” Happy Rumi was always a jumpy Rumi.

Zoey finally joined her girls, hugging Mira tightly when she came up to her.

“Hey girl.” she smiled, snuggling into the much taller woman. Mira returned her hug, dropping a kiss on black hair.

“Morning, Tiny.” she chuckled before stretching her arms over her head and cracking her back. Ugh. Yes. The good stuff.

“Jinu wanna join us today dancing to golden?” Mira cracked a grin, earning a huff.

“Nah, I’m off soon. Studio date with the boys.” he offered, shrugging.

“Well, your loss.” And with that Mira walked over to start playing their songs for the practice.

Sneakers were squeaking against the floor with their movements, body’s glistening with sweat under the light and their effort while they trained. Two hours dance practice, then the girls would be off. Well, Zoey and Rumi, since Mira still had to come up with the joined choreography. But she wouldn’t be alone with it, Mystery joining her to help out for the Saja Boys.

“Good practice today girls.” It was Bobby having entered when Huntrix had come to an end for today, clapping his hands. Behind him wandered in Mystery. And Abby. But he would only drop of the little one.

“Thanks Bobby.” they sang, beaming a smile at their manager.

“You need to slow down a bit Rumi. At least until you got that okay from your doc.” Mira’s tone had a light scold to it, but the purple haired woman knew she only meant well.

“Yes, yes, I know. What do you think how much time you’ll need? Two hours okay for you?”

“Mhh.. might a bit tight, but we should at least come up with something in that time.” Mira mused, high fiving Mystery when he went over to them.

“Alright, we’re off then, trying to find ~things~ out.” Zoey smiled. She and Rumi would be busy trying to research stuff for the little encounter two days prior. She pecked Mystery’s cheek before she left, turning around when a thought hit her. “You wanna have us take care of this one?” She asked, pointing at Jack.

“Ohhh yes, we’ll be careful to not get caught, please Mira.” Ugh. They there were again with their puppy eyes. But it would be nice to be fully get in on the dancing part.

“Fine. But if something happens, let me know.” She finally sighed, shaking her head a bit with an amused grin at their squealing.

“Gimme a sec, Myst.” Mira went over to Abby, having not really seen him today. “Hey, if you’re on break later gimme a call. Gotta talk to you about something.” She offered him a smile.

“Can do…” A brow raised up, “Did something happen? Did I do something?” What had he done this time? He was sure he had done nothing. Wait, maybe there was.. mh.. oh yes. The bitemarks he had left on her whole upper torso the night before. And she was showing them openly too by wearing that shoulderfree crop top. Oh well, he guessed he was in for it.

“Nah. Just an idea Rumi came up with.” Mira offered, shrugging a bit.

Abby watched her expression for any sign of ‘Gotcha!’ but found none. His expression looked more puzzled than ever. “Alright..”

When all left the room, Mira headed back over to Mystery to start their brainstorming moves and choreography. Both worked well together, getting at least half of the choreo down before the time was up. Yes, this was finally a good day, Mira thought to herself. She needed the rush of serotonin desperately.

After wrapping it up at the studio as well and rushing home for a quick shower and refresh, Mira, Abby and little Jack had made their way toward Jinu and Rumi’s home, just like they had agreed on the day before.

So, let’s talk this all through. See what they would come up with, regarding both the demon stuff and revealing stuff. She had already talked to her partner and he too was fine with finally revealing their little secret.

The smut part was deleted out of it. It was bad.

Chapter 11: Feels so good being bad

Summary:

“We should totally incorporate that in our joined show. Even if it is just for Abby’s flustered face.” Romance laughed.

“Yeah, that would be something.” Rumi snorted, but she liked the idea of it.

Chapter Text

Everyone had settled down in the living room, quiet talks between the members of both bands stilling down once Jinu cleared his throat.

“Alright, thanks everyone for coming. First of - good job today with practice.”he  began, drawing the attention to him. “Mystery showed me some of your moves too, Mira, looks good so far. Great that you guys made progress.”

Mira returned his nod into her direction, her arms crossed in front of her chest while she was relaxing some more into the couch.

“Then let’s get go brainstorming together. Two things we need to settle on today - first of the joined show in a month. Rumi and I were talking about, well, everything that has been happening lately. We’ve decided to come out once she will start showing.” he continued.

The girls already knew, as well as Abby and Mystery because of their partners, the other two boys looked at each other, then back to their leader.

“This won’t be until, earliest, 3 months from now.” Baby shrugged, raising a brow.

“Probably, but who knows.” Jinu replied, looking over to his wife when he felt her leaning into him. “But we want to tease the fans a bit to lessen the backlash.”

“Yeah, maybe some cryptic social media post, a hint here or there on our next show.” Rumi added, her head leaned against Jinu’s shoulder beside her. “The girls and I will go live tomorrow evening too. So maybe, we could leave something as well.”

“Well, I could be flashing my ring.” Zoey suggested, getting puzzled looks. “Ah right. Myst and I will confess too.” she added quickly.

“We do too.” Abby nodded, “It will make things a whole bunch easier with the gremlin.”

“Right, so it would be great if our visual,” Jinu looked at Romance, “could come up with something until our joined show. Which leads me to tomorrow. I’ve already talked to the label and we will have joined practice three times the week, starting tomorrow.” Romance nodded to acknowledge he had heard and understood.

“You guys seriously need a manager, Jinu. Once lilac popped that baby out over here she will need you to be a dad and husband and not only leader and Manager of the Saja Boys.” Mira had raised a brow, admiring how he worked so hard but also thinking this was stinking stupid. He had like no private life at all.

“We could activate Bobby for that. He surely knows someone trustworthy.” Zoey nodded along, her eyes closed in thought.

“Uhhh.. yeah. I will think about it.” The black haired leader blinked, shaking his head off to get back to his train of thoughts. “Anyway, Practice starts tomorrow and for the sake of our exhausted and drained parents over there, we will start at 10.”

“Wooo.” Abby exclaimed with a grin, looking up at Jinu. He had Jack on his lap while he was holding his phone up for the little one to watch some show, so he would not be disturbing the adults.

“Oh, yes, thank you. No alarm at 5.30” Mira groaned, but she was visibly happy. Their happy exclaims made the rest laugh lightly, knowing the little menace Jack was. Took after his Dad, they knew.

“Alright, now that’s settled… thoughts about what happened the past days?” Jinu finally asked, his brows drawing in.

“Yeah. It sucked.” Baby shot up, making sure his eye roll was really big.

“I have been thinking about it a lot to be honest.” It was Mystery drawing now the attention to him. “You said that Celine mentioned this had happened once before. But she didn't say when. So I was thinking, if she knows about this happening before and she knew that Rumi is with child, maybe the incident of it is not that long ago than we might think.” Well now all eyes were settled on him.

“I’ve been around longer than all of you. And I have never heard of a hunter and a demon reproducing until, well, Rumi. And even back then in the realm, it were only hushed whispers and rumors. Wasn’t sure if it was real, until we met you guys.” he continued, motioning to the three Huntrix girls. “So, that got me thinking - what if it happened when Rumi’s mother was pregnant with her? Then we shouldn’t have much trouble finding it in the scripts.”

“That makes sense… but how did Celine know that Rumi is pregnant?” Zoey asked, her brows drawn in thought.

“Because she is a stalking bitch?” Baby answered, throwing a grin at their looks towards him.

“Maybe Baby’s right. It wouldn’t surprise me if she knew about .. this.” Rumi motioned around the room. “We may have bunched up our protection at our house, but she still is an ex-hunter and she sure knows how to tiptoe around demon magic and.. well hunters spells.” She said it so matter-of-factly, that it really didn’t leave room for discussion.

“So that means she watches you guys get it on regularly? Like creeping up and staring into your windows?” Abby cracked a grin, laughing at Jinu and Rumi’s expressions. The comment got him a swat from Mira though.

“I would hope not.” Jinu chocked out, his face as equally red as Rumi’s, while the rest had been quietly chuckling or not so quietly laughing at them.

“Remind me to add black out curtains to our shopping list.” Rumi mumbled to her husband, rubbing her temples. The comment made the group erupt in laughter.

When they had calmed down, quiet settled between them. Seemed like Mystery had got them thinking.

“Have you felt any new disruptions today though?” Romance finally asked, looking up at Rumi and then between Zoey and Mira.

“No, all was calm.” Rumi replied, “Different to last time those big tears happened. You guys kept us so much on our toes, I slept for only 2 hours a night back then.” Her expression was a pout, eyebrows lowering in a scowl.

“Sorry ‘bout that, darling.” Romance chuckled, winking at her. After years of huddling around and forming close friendships and relationships, they could laugh about at least some of the things the Saja Boys did back then.

“However, we will not know for sure until we get the scripts back, right?” Mira finally asked, looking up at Jinu. “So, it won’t get us anywhere to start now to speculate. It will only leave us running around in circles and restless.” Mira was still at war with herself about the things Celine had spilled. She wanted to tell Rumi so badly, but she also knew Abby was absolutely right in saying the half demon would need some down time for now.

“Guess so, yes. We can wrap that up until we have the scripts back.” Jinu said, looking back up at Mira. He too hadn’t told his wife yet what he knew, same reasons Mira had.

“Great, I’ve been starving. Ordered takeout an hour ago. It should arrive in the next couple of minutes.” Rumi sighed, earning another round of chuckling. “What? Gotta eat for two now.” she nodded firmly, looking so serious while doing it.

And, if on cue, the doorbell rang with the food being dropped down in front of it. Rumi waited a couple minutes to make sure the delivery driver was gone before going to pick it up. It didn’t take long for the group to settle onto the table and their private talks were picked up again over the eating.

The night wrapped up pretty quick after that, everyone leaving to their respective homes. They still had practice the next morning.

When time for practice arrived, one after another Huntrix and Saja Boy member showed up. Even the couples arriving separately, since they still needed to play hide and seek with the public.

“So let’s start with what you came up with yesterday.” Jinu began, when everyone was ready to get going, looking first at Mira then Mystery.

The music started, both of them showing off what they had been throwing together until now.

“That looks great!” Rumi exclaimed after they finished, clapping her hands together. She knew she could count on her choreograph-lead to come up with some bad ass moves.

“Damn woman, that was sick.” Baby whistled, wiggling his brows at Mira.

“Cause I’m maybe bad but I’m perfectly good at it..” she started to sing, cracking a grin when she saw their expressions. She started to move her hips to the beat in her head, knowing she was goofing off. The group screamed and woo’d at her excitedly when she started.

“Sex in the air, I don’t care I love the smell of it.

Sticks and stones may break my bones,

but chains and whips excite me..~”

Her hips moved seductively while she danced to the tune in her head, her hands running tantalizingly slow over her frame, enjoying the expressions thrown towards her. Especially Abby’s slacked jaw. She noticed his gaze plastered to her ass.

As if on cue, Zoey and Rumi joined.

“Na, na, na come on, come on, come on - I like it, like it.”

Okay, that was it. The boys couldn’t hold back the laughter.

“We should totally incorporate that in our joined show. Even if it is just for Abby’s flustered face.” Romance laughed.

“Yeah, that would be something.” Rumi snorted, but she liked the idea of it. Could they really have Mira cracking out THIS song on the stage? Like, it was naughty at best. But Mira too had a reputation, that she simply did not give a single flying fuck about modesty. She had been teasing fans with similar stuff before. And it always shot up their views.

Abby was still trying to find his composure, he felt like he was burning up with the heat on his cheeks. “Yeah, no. Please don’t.” he began, breathing out to calm down the thoughts of what exactly he would later do to his partner, “Unless you want me to ravage her in front of everyone. On stage.” He cracked a grin when Mira looked at her.

Dumbass. She loved it. And mirrored his grin. Oh, yes, she knew what she was doing. And what would be coming when they were back home.

“I know, you got a moment here.. but maybe we can continue..” Jinu mumbled, looking everywhere but the two in front of him.

And with that, they continued their joined practice.

A couple hours later, they wrapped up the practice. There was still an internet show the girls had to attend anyway.

“We meet up at Huntrix headquarters at 6. The live will start at 6.30.” Rumi told her girls, having that no nonsense leader voice laced up. She earned a nod from her bandmates.

Romance had come up to Abby, who was busy entertaining his son. Jack had been so good today, having joined them here and there to dance,  well if you could call him wiggling his little butt dancing.

“Saw your look earlier.” Romance began, cracking a smirk, “You were undressing her with your eyes.”

“Can you blame a man, Ro?” Abby chuckled.

“Nah, not with her.” Romance agreed, sitting down besides his best friend. “If you want, I could take Jack for the night.” he offered, winking at his bandmate.

Abby looked at him, a grin creeping up his face. “That would be grand. Need to practice that song and dance with my woman. Would be a great opportunity.”

“Of course. Only practice for the show, huh?” Romance teased, laughing quietly.

“Yes, indeed. Only for the show.” Abby nodded, trying to look serious. Wasn’t working.

“What are you two up to?” Mira asked when she joined them, a brow raised. If they were huddled together with these expressions, it rarely meant any good.

Both men looked up at her, not even trying to hide their mischief. Ah, she loved them both. One more than the other, but they were indeed both very dear to her.

“Ro will take Jack for a sleepover.” Abby stated, and by the look in his eyes, Mira knew there was no way to discuss this at all. Her partner had a plan and she was sure it included her, naked, all over him.

Jack looked up when he finally heard his name, glancing between his parents and Uncle. “Yaaaaayyy..” he exclaimed, throwing his hands up. He proceeded to climb from his fathers lap into Romance, snuggling up when the pink haired demon wrapped his arms around the tiny boy.

“Sounds good? You and me, movies and popcorn!” Romance laughed at the little boy beaming with excitement.

“Yesssss.. popcorn!” Oh, this was going to be a good night. Romance could barely deny Jack a wish and the little boy surely knew that all too well.

Yes, this was going to be a good night, indeed. Mira just shook her head, chuckling at her boys. “Alright then. Seems like I don’t stand a chance against Uncle Ro, huh?” Not that she wanted to stand a chance. Abby and her barely had time to breathe, let alone each other. This would be good for their relationship and a good distraction for her. Her thoughts were always circling back when the quiet was settling over and she welcomed the chance to escape them.

“Okay, then let’s leave. I need a shower and need to be at the headquarters at 6.” She finally said, “You accompany us, Ro? I could pack Jacks bag and you could take him home with you when I leave.”

“Sounds good to me.” Romance nodded, getting up with Jack still in his arms. “Meet up at yours then?”

“Yep, see you later.” Abby answered, too getting up from the floor and taking his son back from Romance so they could get going.

So, off they all went. Separately again as to not raise suspicions. They knew Dispatch and Fans were often waiting in front of the building, waiting to snap THE shot of any member of their groups. It was always a bit of a hassle to get Jack out of this building with no one noticing.

Mira was glad that this would be over in a couple months. Bobby had joined them at last, taking the little Boy off Abby’s arms.

“So as usual?” he asked, raising both brows to the couple.

“Yes, as usual. Abby will ride with him though.” Mira confirmed, smiling when she booped Jack’s nose.

So the usual ordeal then. Bobby nodded while offering a big smile.

It was always the same. Bobby would take Jack back down to the garage, where a black SUV was already waiting for him. He would ride with the boy in the back to the front door, where one of his parents would make their way out of the building and stop to have some photos with fans taken or to autograph some posters. It was always a good distraction when either Abby or Mira then joined the back of the SUV to take over the little one. Fans and reporters would get distracted by the Idol and quickly by another Idol following suit.

If it was Mira riding with Jack, it would be one of the girls getting out directly after her to distract the mob of people surrounding the building. If it was Abby, it would be one of the boys. It had worked well the past years.

“Then let’s go.” Bobby smiled, watching Mira pick up a helmet. “Ah.. you're here with your motorbike?”

“Yep, and I will be off with it too.” Mira winked at her manager, leaning over to kiss Jack’s cheek before putting on the helmet. “See you at home.” And with that, she was off.

Abby and Bobby watched her leave when Baby came up to them.

“Hi.” he offered, his hands in his pockets. “Jinu said it’s my turn to swoon the masses so that Abby can join you in the car.” He shrugged at their expressions.

“Alright, Jack be good to Bobby, yeah? I’ll be with you shortly.” Abby poked the boys cheek, grinning a bit at his crunched up expression.

With that, Bobby and Jack was off and Abby threw his bag over his shoulder to make his way out and plopped his sunglasses on his nose.

He was behind Mystery when he exited the building, drawing the attention to him as expected. Screams and cries, some crying from the sidelines, reporters shouting questions, flashes blinding him for a moment. They were all used to it though, so he signed some things here and there, took some photos with fans. It gave Mystery enough time to get into the back of the car waiting for him.

Abby looked over his shoulder when he heard the door opening behind him, knowing his cue. The car with Bobby and Jack in the back, black tinted windows and all, was already waiting. A security guided him toward the car doors, while the mob of fans and reporters drew in on Baby behind him.

He sighed a long breath when he entered the car, taking over his son from Bobby. “Where do you want to be dropped off?” he asked the Huntrix Manager, smiling at Jack squealing happily to be back with his father.

“Ah, around the corner or so. Have a meet up with the label, Need to defend my girls honor.” Bobby looked so serious. Yeah, he really needed a raise. Abby could imagine the label chewing the mans ears off about his girls antics.

“Alright then.” he answered, letting Jack crawl all over him.

When they finally dropped Bobby off the next corner, they were off back home. Thankfully there were NDA’s in place for the security and drivers for the bunch of them.

Chapter 12: Huntrix Girls To the World

Summary:

“ARGH!” she shot out. “You Saja’s seriously need to stop sneaking up on me!” She let the weapon disappear again with a huff.

“Mira, calm down. He just brought me here.” Zoey giggled, stepping out from behind Mystery’s back.

Chapter Text

When Abby and Jack returned home, Mira and Romance were already there. Romance was wandering after Mira while they were talking, like a lost puppy trying to stay close to whoever was willing to give it a home.

“..and well, I guess since then I wanna kill her. Literally. Not figuratively. Didn’t think she was such a bad cun… assho.. stupid.. woman.” Mira stumbled over her own cursing when Jack tackled her in a hug.

Romance laughed at her struggle for a moment. He then turned serious again. “I can imagine. But kudos to you staying calm. I’d have expected you to shred her to pieces.” he mused.

“Growth, Ro. This is called growth.” she nodded, cracking a grin. She picked her son up, snuggling him close to herself. Sweet, widdle Baby. He was so innocent and so perfect.

“Just because she didn’t do it yesterday, doesn’t mean she’s not doing it at all, Ro. Like.. we’re talking about Mira. She’d have your head cut off over a cup of rameyon.” Abby smirked. He leaned down to kiss Mira’s cheek, ducking when she tried to smack him for him comment. “Hi to you too, babe.”

Mira shook her head, walking off. “I’ll take a shower, guys. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.” she sing-sang while wandering off.

Both men watched after her for a moment, then looked between them with her comment.

“This woman will be the death of me, Romance. I tell you. She’ll make sure I die of a heart attack. Me, a demon.” Abby sighed, rubbing his face for a moment. Mira had set Jack back down before she wandered off, the little boy running laps around the coffee table in the living room, making plane sounds. Romance picked him up when they had walked over.

“Mira told me about yesterday.” he began while he sat down on the couch, “She okay?”

“Yah, she’ll be fine. I let her talk it out last night, but she sure isn’t right now in her best place, honestly. I’ve never have been woken up by a nightmare of her, but last night was brutal.” Abby replied, sighing a bit before sitting next to his bandmate.

Mira was such a badass that it was easy to forget the vulnerable woman behind it. She had been hurt deeply too by her own family, years ago. They had treated her like a piece of crap under a shoe while she was growing up, trying everything to suppress her personality. And even now, when they tried reaching out it was only to lash out at her and get under her skin. Her parents didn’t even know that they were grandparents. Abby was a little afraid over coming clean in a couple months, knowing they would be trying to get at her again.

“Mhh.. poor love.” Romance mused, zoning out while watching little Jack. “She really needs you tonight. I guess having that one out of here is the right thing. Just don’t overwork her, alright? Or I will have your head.” He cracked a smirk, but there was a silent warning behind his eyes.

Abby chuckled. “Alright, alright. No need for hostility.” He knew Romance was overly protective about Mira, seeing her kind of like a sister since they became so close. The big brother protecting the little sister kinda thing. It developed into that after he realized that he didn’t have any chance whatsoever romantically. Not that he wouldn’t have tried. Multiple times. But he knew, Abby was a better match for her.

Both men looked up when they heard her coming back from her shower. She had already changed into the clothes for tonights live show. She was wearing he signature hairstyle, glasses plopped on her nose. A big black shirt with “Huntrix” over her chest, and “Mira” on the upper left side over some black tights. Her make up was seemingly light, but Abby knew she had at least half a ton on to cover up the marks he had left all over her neck. She had put a bracelet on her right wrist with the name ‘Kwan’ on top of it.

“Looking good, darling.” Romance winked at her, blowing a kiss.

“Thanks, hun.” she chuckled, taking a seat beside Abby. “I’ve already packed an overnight bag for gremlin. Make sure he’s getting into a pyjama. We won’t sleep almost respectively completely naked like Appa, mh?” Mira booped the little ones nose when he came up to her.

“What? It’s more comfortable.” Abby pouted at her.

“Mhmmm.. comfortable, alright.” she rolled her eyes at him.

“He’s done that too in our dorm before you both moved together. Nothing better than a naked guy running through your vision while you try to have your cup of coffee in the morning.” Romance groaned a bit at the memory, but shot a smirk anyway.

Abby huffed. “You could always look away, you know?” It made both Mira and Romance laugh.

“Alright then. Car’s already waiting for me downstairs to take me back to the headquarters.” Mira had looked at her phone when it buzzed with a message, getting up. “I won’t be too late, at least I hope so.” She leaned down to kiss Abby, before kissing Jacks head. “Be good for Uncle Ro, love. And sleep tight tonight. I love you.” A soft smile tugged at her lips, running a hand through pink hair.

“Bye Eomma! Love you!” he beamed back, crawling all over both men on the couch.

Romance too bid her goodbye, both demons watching her leave before getting back into talking about everything and nothing. And with that Mira was off, getting down the elevator and climbing into the black sports car waiting for her.

She arrived shortly after at the Huntrix headquarters, using her keychip to ride the elevator. When she was on the level of their former apartment, she stepped out and took her shoes off at the door.

“Anyone here already?” she called. Mh.. No one was calling back, so she assumed she was alone right now. She made her way over into the open living space, setting her bag down behind the couch. They would be filming from the couch, so she figured no one would see the bag at all and be suspicious. Her eyes snapped to her side when she heard something, summoning her Gok-Do and whirling around to.. almost knife down Mystery.

“ARGH!” she shot out. “You Saja’s seriously need to stop sneaking up on me!” She let the weapon disappear again with a huff.

“Mira, calm down. He just brought me here.” Zoey giggled, stepping out from behind Mystery’s back. He had brought her behind himself the moment Mira seemed to attack. Mystery looked as calm as ever, only a small smile showing on his face. “I’ll text you when we’re done!” Zoey beamed a smile up, stealing a kiss before sending her fiance back off home.

“Ugh, sorry. I’m feeling kinda tensed up since yesterday.” Mira sighed.

“It’s alright. Have you been here long? Where’s ’Mrs. I’m gonna show you wild’?” the black haired woman asked, looking around Mira.

“Nah, just arrived as well. And she isn’t here yet, I guess. At least I didn’t see or hear her.”

“Okay.. let’s set up everything, so we can wrap this up quickly, alright?” the maknae smiled, wandering over to the coffee table to prop the phone up on a small tripod so they could film themselves.

Mira helped her finding a good spot to prop the phone up and adjusted the lighting, so they would be good seen. Both women then dropped a blanket over the back of the couch and scattered little things around so it looked like a well lived in space.

“Hey girls, sorry for being late. Management chewed me a new one.” Rumi had finally arrived, though this time without her husband in tow. He was taking care of said Management right now.

“What for?” Mira asked, raising a brow.

“For getting pregnant. Well, not for that point in general, but for me telling them to fuck off because they caught wind of me getting off birthcontrol.” Rumi rolled her eyes, having joined the two others to help prepare. “Or maybe for puking on their table. I dunno.” She shrugged a bit while her bandmates laughed. “Like.. wasn’t that obvious? Of course I would try to have a baby with my husband like a normal person.” She seemed a bit irritated, rambling on.

“Mhh.. they didn’t seem so concerned about my pregnancy.” Mira mused, adjusting her glasses.

“Maybe because they expected something like that happening years prior already?” Zoey asked, shrugging a bit. “No offense!” she added quickly, giggling nervously.

“None taken, Tiny. I guess you’re right.” the magenta haired woman nodded along. Yeah, they had probably wondered why she had taken so long to come up with an unexpected pregnancy. “So, let’s get this done with, yeah? Ro is taking Jack tonight and I have a date with my man.”

“Ooohhhh… Mira~ don’t make another baby, alright?” Zoey winked at her, wiggling her brows.

“Thought that was the plan? Didn’t Rumi want us too?” Mira raised a brow and cracked a grin at her leader.

“That’d be grand. Imagine us three, together getting fat and together in the maternity ward.” Rumi’s eyes sparked at the imagination.

“Can you imagine the hospital staff?” Zoey laughed, seeing in her head how all three of them made more chaos than anything. Then a thought crossed her mind. “Wouldn’t you light up like a christmas light during delivery?”

“Probably. Jinu said the same. He said like a disco light though.” the half demon giggled, crossing her arms. “We’re opting for a home birth because of that.”

“Best for you. You should’ve seen the nurses faces when Jack came out already having patterns on his back. They thought they had accidentally hurt him.” Mira remembered, chuckling a bit. They had went with birthmarks to assure the startled staff.

“Okay girls, T- 2 minutes. Let’s settle down.” Rumi clapped her hands, ushering her girls over to the couch. They sat down, Rumi in the middle, Mira to her right and Zoey to her left. Last checks in their mirrors, adjusting their make up and hair here and there.

“...and we’re on.” Zoey said, all three plastering those smiles on their faces.

“Hey hunters! Welcome to our live chat this evening.” Rumi began, waving a hand into the camera. Hunters had become the fandom name pretty quickly after they debuted. “We’re on for 60 minutes tonight to answer your questions. So let’s start up!” The smile she beamed was so fake, but the fans were buying it.

“First question comes from uhh.. xHuntrixgirlstotheworldx - ‘When will you be joining Saja Boys again at a game show?” Zoey read aloud.

“Well, there’s nothing planned in the foreseeable future, but the Saja Boys and Huntrix will have a joined mini concert in about four weeks.” Rumi replied, offering a smile.

“Doesn’t mean they won’t try to get us into some kind of mischief though.” Mira added, shrugging a shoulder into the camera.

The chat exploded with messages of laughing emojis.

Zoey tried to find the questions between the whole ‘WE LOVE YOU HUNTRIX - MARRY ME RUMI - MIRA YOU’RE SO HOT - ZOEY HIT US WITH A VERSE’ messages coming in rapidly. “Next question: ‘Mira, will the shirt you’re wearing be up for Merchandise?’”

“Nope.” Mira popped the ‘p’ loudly. And that was it. This again got the chat heated, users celebrating Mira’s response and sharpness and what not.

“Next one: ‘Rumi there’s rumors about a new, joined, single between you and Saja Boys Leader Jinu. Is there any truth?’” Zoey read again, looking over at her leader. She saw Rumi’s hands curling slightly, but she kept her professional persona up. Here goes.

“What, did Dispatch got into your heads again?” she laughed, waving a hand up and down. “There will be new, joined songs between the Saja Boys and Huntrix. But with all of us, we cannot say too much though.” A wink toward the camera, the chat going highwire.

Rumi caught a message from the chat saying ‘Rujinu is real, I tell you guys. She is trying to distract, look how fake her laugh was!’ She tried to ignore it.

“Okay, next one from ‘ZoeyisBetterthanBaby’ - ‘Will there be a rap battle between you and Baby?’” Zoey smiled some, bringing her hand with her engagement ring up for a second. She did it very aware of what she was showing and it promptly got the chat into a heated discussion about the new jewelry on Zoey’s hand. Good, first hint dropped.

“Well, maybe. We have fun collaborating and coming up with diss verses whenever we get the chance to work together.” Zoey winked, her hand having disappeared in her lap as quick as she had shown her ring. “He’s a gifted rapper and singer. A future collaboration with more than just a joined show sounds pretty rad to me.”

“He’s also a menace to society, but this is aside from his talent, obviously.” Mira said nonchalantly, watching her nails instead of the chat. In all those years of forming friendships, of love brewing between some of the bandmembers, Mira always managed to keep up the imagine of her absolutely despising the Saja Boys. She was a good actor. And professionally trained to lie for the fans.

Again a wave of laughing emojis rolled in, people hyping Mira up. ‘Truly in her Napalm Era’ - ‘Why is she so funny though? it should be illegal to be this funny’ - ‘Mira for the win’ and similar comments accompanying the emojis.

“Our label would need to give A-Okay too.” Rumi added, looking over at Zoey. Not that this would be a problem. Huntrix was THE k-pop girl group and the Saja boys THE k-pop boyband. They could demand whatever and management would might be grumbling, but they would be relenting anyway. This was why they were getting away with so much - they were merely money printing machines for the label. And the best ones at that.

“Alright alright, let’s move on.” Zoey giggled a bit, watching over the screen seeing a message from ‘SodaPoppedThis - Menace to society, says the terror pinkie.’ All girls knew it was Baby having sneaked on, and apparently chat caught on too. Zoey used to opportunity “Seems like a Saja Boy has joined the chat.” she mused, grinning a bit.

“Always knew he was our biggest fan.” Rumi chuckled, winking into the camera.

“Hi Baby~” the girls sing-sang in unison, similar to their greeting to Bobby.

‘SodaPoppedThis  - Hi girls~ ;)’ Baby sent back, sending the chat into another fieldday.

“You know, Baby is a real sweetheart to us, chat. Always on the look out for us.” Rumi giggled a bit, running her hand over her hair for a second, showing her wedding bands. It was a second, but the hint was dropped. And well placed too. And chat was again deep into a discussion about the shown new jewelry.

“Alright, we have time for one more question tonight, practice starts early for us tomorrow.” Rumi smiled, her hands neatly placed back in her lap and the wedding bands hidden away again. Nah it wouldn’t. They had scheduled it for 10 a.m. again, but the world didn’t know. For all the fans knew, Huntrix got up with sunrise to train.

“Okay, ‘MiraLove - Mira, will you join another podcast on the latest murder crimes?’ Yeah that was totally a Mira thing she loved. True Crime.

“Mhh, well, I might. Didn’t get any offerings yet though, so let’s see if this will change after tonight.” she cracked a grin, having gestured for a split second, making sure to show off the bracelet and hold ‘Kwan’ for a second into the camera too. Third hint dropped. That went well for tonight. Chat once more went wild and was now discussing who the hell this Kwan would be. Maybe one of the Saja’s? Probably the real name of Romance, or Abby. Or Mystery. Or even Baby? The way they were teasing each other surely meant something, right? The girls watched the chat explode satisfied, smiling brightly into the camera.

“Alright, hunters. Thank you for joining us tonight and make sure to join us on our next show ‘Undefined’ as well, we can’t wait to perform for you!” Rumi beamed into the camera.

“Until next time.” Mira saluted with two fingers, winking into the camera.

“We love you, guys, thanks for your time..~” Zoey added, giggling like she would usually. They held their expressions for a moment, then Zoey shut the phone off.

“Whew, good job Huntrix.” Rumi grinned, high fiving her girls.

“This will get the rumors going.” Mira added, nodding to herself.

“Yes, they ate everything up.” Zoey giggled, fist pumping the air triumphantly. “But, now, I’m ready for bed. My back hurts.”

This drew a laugh from the two other girls. “Our Maknae is getting old, Mir.”

“Apparently so.” the pink haired woman smirked, getting up to clean quickly the mess they made with a purpose.

“Okay, girls. I’m off, have a good night. And Rumi, text me when you know if Jinu killed management or not.” she finally said, giving a grin.

“Bye Mira!” Zoey waved, having already texted Mystery who popped up in a cloud of pink smoke.

“Will do!” Rumi saluted, chuckling too. “Have a good night - and at least try to get a bit of sleep.” She winked, remembering that Abby and her had a night off parents duty. She knew they were doing anything but sleep.

Mira threw a thumb up, waving over her shoulder when she went into the elevator.

Now to quickly get back home.

While Mira was headed back home in the back of the car, she scrolled her phone. Social media was already going wild with speculations about the shown rings and bracelet, fans conspiring the wildest things.

She saw a message drop down.

Mira clicked the chat off, exiting the car since she had arrived. She made her way up to the loft, yawning a bit on the ride. Ugh, she was tired.

When she arrived, the loft was almost dark, only a small, warm light coming from the bedroom. Ah, Abby must’ve already laid down. She left her shoes by the door, making her way to the bathroom.

“Hey, big guy.” A smile tugged her lips, walking over to his side.

“Hi, babe. Glad you’re finally back.” Abby looked up from the phone, still texting. “Just checked in with Ro, Jack’s already fast asleep.” He chuckled, showing her a picture of the little boy wrapped up in soft blankets on the couch.

“Pretty boy, his parents must be real handsome.” Mira mused, winking at the demon in front of her. Abby snorted at her comment. “But glad to see him already comfy.”

“You tell me.”

“Alright, hun. Gonna go get changed and ready for bed.” she yawned a bit, stretching her back when she got up. Her shoulder made some popping sounds, making her groan. Ugh, ouch.

“That doesn’t sound good.” Abby commented, raising a brow.

“Gettin’ old.” she called back, closing the door to the bathroom behind her.

She stripped off her clothes to change back into the big black shirt and shorts for sleep, washing her make up off on the sink and brushing her teeth. When she was all set and done, she plopped her glasses back on the nose and made her way to bed.

She climbed in beside Abby, stretching some on her back. Her joints again popped with a cracking sound.

“Jeez, woman. What are you, old hardwood floor?” Abby raised a brow, looking over to her.

“Ah hush. Two days fighting in a row and two days practice in a row. Plus internet interview, and you, Mister, fucking me in between. Leave me be.” Mira huffed, scowling some toward him.

Abby chuckled at her remark and turned the light off, setting his phone down to lean over to her. “Up on your belly, Miss. Let’s get these knots and sores out of your back.” It wasn’t a question.

Mira did as she was told, rolling onto her belly, her arms crossing in front of her to rest her face on them. She felt the weight on the mattress shift and then big, warm hands working into sore muscles of her back. Oh, yes. That was better than couch or the bathhouse. She sighed a muffled groan, relaxing into his touch.

With a swift motion, her glasses were taken off her nose, setting them on the nightstand beside them. She closed her eyes, her muscles softening up. The room was quiet other than an occasional sigh from Mira, or a small groan when Abby found a particular hurting trigger point.

She was almost asleep when she heard him. “Turn around.” It was again a command, his voice laced with hunger. She knew she was in for it tonight, having riled him up at practice earlier.

She did as she was told, but not without protesting. “Man, I’ve almost fallen asleep.”

Abby didn’t reply this time, he had already cupped the back of her head to draw her in closer to himself. He didn’t waste time to claim her lips in a hungry, desperate kiss. He quickly deepened it and she was bending to his every demand.

She loved to be in control in whatever situation this life was throwing her way, but she also loved to bend to his every will in the private of their bedroom, letting him do whatever he wanted to do to her. It didn’t take long for her skin to prickle up in goosebumps as the warmth started to curl up in her stomach. Her thighs had opened to make space for him, one long leg tangled with his own. She sucked in a harsh breath when Abby finally left her lips, trailing kisses down her jaw, her neck, then collarbone.

Mira arched her back into the touch, her hands gripping his shoulders to steady herself when she felt one hand wandering under her shirt. Featherlight touches along prickled skin, her muscles twitching wherever he as much as brushed over her with his fingertips on his way up. A low moan escaped her into the silence once his hand had found her breast, caressing the sensitive skin with his thumb.

“Relax for me..” he whispered, looking up from his kisses along her body. He sat up enough to help her out of her shirt, tossing it to the ground with a small thump. He watched her over, his vision much much better in the night than her own. Okay in general. She was blind as a mole, the glasses were not just a prop. He didn’t need long to get rid of her shorts too, it landing besides her shirt on the floor.

A low growl echoed in his chest when he leaned back down, a flash of golden mirroring in his eyes. Well, that she could see. “Fuck, you’re so beautiful.” he breathed, leaning back down to continue the journey with his lips down her body.

“Abby..” she sucked yet another breath in when he reached her breast, arching into him. Her eyes closed, head pressing back into the pillow when a moan escaped her lips.

He gave full attention to both her breasts with his mouth and tongue, drawing sweet sounds from her while busying himself. His hand wandered down her ribcage, her side, caressing the outside of her thigh before trailing more closely to her core. Fingertips brushing over the soft fabric of whatever lacey panty she wore, hearing her moan longer at the sensation. He pulled the panty aside, letting his fingers brush against bare skin.

Mira’s eyes shot open, her hand clapping over her mouth when she felt the loud sound coming off her. She bit into her wrist, writhing beneath his touch. “Please..” Breathless between the sweet sounds of desire, trying to find his eyes in the dark. Her face felt hot, she knew that it was beginning to turn redder by the second. Her plea didn’t stay unsatisfied when he finally slid a finger inside her, quickly joined by a second one.

The sensation made her groan out louder, bucking her hips into his play desperately. Yes, this was exactly what she needed. The pace he set was as desperate as she felt, her breathing becoming ragged in the matter of minutes. Mira closed her eyes back again, her head pressing into the pillow below her, while he was busying himself with leaving fresh bitemarks over the already existing ones along her neck and collarbone.

She could feel herself coming closer to the edge, the movement of her hips growing desperate. “Not yet..” he mumbled before pulling his hand off her, drawing a frustrated groan out of her. Abby chuckled. “Will you wait?” he asked, his voice husky, yet demanding. “I’m not done yet with you for tonight.”

After all, they needed to use this night to its fullest, who knew when they would be childfree the next time.

“Please..” Mira breathed again, sitting a bit up to try and coax him back to her, trying to catch his lips in a kiss. He let her have the satisfaction of catching him though, his hand wandering to her throat to palm it lightly. He knew he could choke her in an instant, but his touch was light, playful. Just how she liked it. And with that low moan out of her throat, she too confirmed it. With now control over her by the palm placed around her throat, he fully claimed her lips. His kiss turned a bit more aggressive, biting her lower lip when he pulled back.

“Please, what?” he demanded when he fully pulled back from her, his gaze studying her expression.

“Please.. don’t stop..” she breathed, her nails digging into his shoulder while she tried to pull him back toward her. “Don’t make me beg..”

Abby cracked a smirk, it still was playful, but she could see the gold flashing in his eyes once more, his fangs finally showing in the smirk. Oh he would have her begging in the matter of minutes and he knew that as well as she did. The grasp on her throat tightened before he exposed her neck with a swift motion, burying his face into it. A rather hard bite placed down on the now exposed skin, drawing a bit of blood.

Mira sucked in a breath, releasing it with a sound, she didn’t know she could make. One between surprise and pleasure at the sting. Her hand began to roam down his body on the front, fingering with the hem of his boxer to fumble her way inside. At least she tried. But she also knew she was putty in his hands by now and he simply took her hand off of him. With her wrist in his grasp in one hand and her throat in the other, he lowered them both back onto the bed, knees opening up her thighs to have more space. He pressed himself down against her, groaning lowly when she, yet again, sucked in a breath.

“Oh god.. please, just..” she started, not sure if she was frustrated or turned on by his game, “please.. do whatever you want to me, but do it now.” She finally finished, earning a low chuckle before he sat up again. Wait. That wasn’t what she had planned.

Before she could complain, though, he had flipped her around on her stomach, drawing her hips toward him. She could hear the rustle of clothes moved, could feel the cold air when he had finally freed her from the last barrier of clothing between them. The anticipation in her stomach curled, propping herself up on her elbows, so she was on all fours in front of him, hands curling into the sheets.

In one swift motion, and without her expecting it, he had thrusted forward, burying himself deep inside her. She drew a long moan, head tilting backwards. “Wait..” she gasped, feeling him grabbing her hair and pulling it tightly.

“Shut up and take it like a good girl.” He growled, the pace he set rough and quick. Not leaving her any chance to get adjusted for a moment, though her body knew his well enough that it would take only a couple of thrusts. The sound of skin slapping against skin hardly filled the room, only broken through the rather loud moans she was producing. And his occasionally low groans.

She dared a look over her should towards him, eyes lidded halfway. The patterns had started writhing up his body, meaning he had a hard time covering up his demon. And by the look of him, it wouldn’t take long before it would take over completely. It made her excited, she loved when he lost control. Sure, she also knew she wouldn’t be able to walk tomorrow straight, but it was worth it.

Now completely golden eyes looked up at her, feeling her gaze toward him. “Like what you see?” And there was that cocky grin back on his face, his pace not faltering. He had one hand curled tightly around some of her hair, pulling it toward him, the other hand gripping her hip tightly. She felt the bruising of skin where he dug his nails into her. The feeling made her close her eyes, her head plopping down to rest on her forearms. Her moans came louder with each thrust forward, bucking her hips as good as she could back into him. Oh, she was getting close again, clenching up around him. Abby hissed a breath at the feeling, pulling off of her completely.

“Hey.. whaaa..” Mira complained, before being tossed around on her back.

“Not yet.” he growled. Well now she could make most of him out in the dark, her eyes having somewhat adjusted. His glamour had died down, the demon having shown up completely. He didn’t lose time to sink back into her again though, picking up the same quick and harsh pace from before.

The groan that was coming from her throat was loud and broken, feeling her neck started to sting with the overuse of her voice. Her legs had wrapped around his waist, nails digging deep into his back and scratching down. She was sure that she left bleeding marks.

He sucked in a breath, burying his head back into her neck and biting down hard enough again to draw blood, his fangs breaking the soft skin easily. He soothed the sting with his tongue afterwards though, breathing meanwhile as ragged as hers. His moves faltered a  bit, knowing he too was close. “F-fuck..” he breathed against her neck, picking up his pace again.

Mira couldn’t hold on anymore longer though, feeling almost on the brink of breaking with the heat curling between them, her stomach began to knot up. “Don’t stop.. I’m close..” she cried silently, her nails digging back into his lower back. After a couple more thrusts he had pushed them both over the edge, the release washing over them to the sweet sounds she was making.

Abby had himself propped up on one elbow over her, breathing ragged and his forehead against her neck while they were coming down from their high. Mira solely concentrated on breathing, her legs still twitching with aftershock.

“I won’t be able to walk tomorrow.” She blurted, making Abby laugh into her neck.

“Sorry.” he kissed her broken skin again, beginning to glamour down his demon.

“Don’t be.” she chuckled, her nails drawing lazy circles into the skin of his back. She could already feel her hips and thighs hurting, and even if it was a good hurt, dancing would be rather difficult tomorrow. Oh well.

When he finally rolled off of her, she whined with the loss of warmth.

“C’mon, we need to get cleaned up.” he chuckled, leaning over to kiss her forehead before getting up and holding his hand out for her to hold on. He brought it rather close, knowing she didn’t see very good in the dark. In general. Whenever she didn’t wear contacts or her glasses, that’s it. When she grabbed his hand, she let herself pull up, wobbling a bit once she was back on her feet.

“Jesus.” she breathed, propping a hand against his chest to steady herself.

“Let’s take a quick shower.” It would be easier than anything else. He scooped her up in bridal style, chuckling at her tiny squeal. And with that they were off to the shower. Obviously, Abby couldn’t stop his hands from roaming and grabbing her again, the ‘quick’ shower longer than anticipated.

When they were done, they went back to the bed though. It had been a while since they could be huddled up together naked, so they used this opportunity.

Abby had his arms around Mira’s waist, spooning her from behind and his face nuzzling into her shoulders. She relaxed into his touch, eyes already closed.

“As much as I’d love round three.. I’m deadly tired. And hurting.” she mumbled into one yawn after another.

“Alright, love. I’ll leave you alone.” he chuckled lowly, drawing her closer though. He really hoped that her exhaustion would be enough to keep her from the nightmares.

And it should too. Mira slept through the night without as much stirring as the night before, waking up curled into Abby’s side, while her phone was buzzing on the nightstand.

A long, slender arm reached out to tap onto the nightstand to fish for her phone, picking up the incoming call groggily.

“Mmmyep?” her voice was muffled through Abby’s skin and the blanket around her. “Morning, queen…” she answered, her voice still laced with sleep and her throat exhausted from her cries the night before. “Nah, I’m still in bed… yes you woke me up.” she replied.

Abby stirred at the talking, cracking both eyes open to peek down to his side. “If someone’s not dying, cut the call.” he grumbled, a hand raised to rub his face.

Mira chuckled. “I’ll tell him.. yes.” she paused, her eyes drifting close back again while listening to Rumi on the other end. “Okay..” she said in a yawn, “We’ll be there. Bye, Rumi.” She clicked the phone off, tossing it beside herself.

“What is it?” Abby asked, turning on his side to snuggle back into Mira.

“Joined practice today, after a talk with the label. They aren’t happy about our hints of last nights show.” she mumbled, pressing her face into his chest.

“Ah, fuck them.” he grumbled again, falling back asleep as well. Mira had already clocked out again, her breathing slowing down with falling back asleep.

This was a problem for later, not now.

Chapter Text

It wasn’t long after the call that both alarms sounded the quiet of the bedroom.

“Maaann..” Mira groaned, fumbling for her phone to shut the alarm off. She had curled closely into Abby, pressing her face into his chest.

“We need to get up, love.” she mumbled, trailing kisses down his skin.

“I’d rather stay here with you.” he replied quietly, his voice not yet full there thanks to sleep. His hand found her butt, brushing his fingertips over her skin. It made her shudder a bit, goosebumps rising up. He chuckled at her.

“I do too. However, we need to get up.” Mira sighed, stretching herself before sitting up and looking over to him. “Management wants a talk with the lot of us.”

Yeah, she wasn’t looking forward to it. It would always end in her threatening them and their families and the generations of their families to come. She got up anyway, wandering over to the dresser to fish out some clothing. The morning sun illuminated the room through a crack in the drawn curtains, reflecting on her naked backside.

“You know what. You just stay there like that and let me watch you.” Abby smirked, his gaze roaming over her body.

“Stop it you horny idiot.” Mira shook her head, chuckling a bit though. When she was satisfied with the clothes she fumbled out, she made her way into the bathroom.

With the sight of her gone, Abby sighed but got up as well to get dressed and started for the day. Mira passed him when she was done, leaning up to steal a kiss. “Coffee or tea?” she asked, her hands resting on his chest.

“Rather tea. Still don’t get how you get that black stuff down.” He made a face at the thought, bringing a hand down to slap her butt. She squeaked a bit at the feeling.

“Tease.” she grumbled.

“You love it.” he shot back, wiggling his brows before vanishing into the bathroom.

Mira mumbled to herself while she was making her way to the kitchen, getting coffee and tea started.

“Let’s get breakfast on our way over to the office.” Mira offered when Abby joined her, drawing a nod of him.

“Yeah, we’re late I guess?” he asked, picking the phone out off his back pocket to look at the time.

“A bit, not by much though.” she answered, getting up from her chair.

With their coffee and tea gone, they made their way out of the building.

They would be riding together this morning and instead of riding in the hidden back, Mira would sit beside him in the front. They knew that they probably would get caught seen together, but it was all a strategy for their outing.

Mira jumped out of the car at a breakfast shop to quickly grab something to eat for them, being disguised in a black hoodie and cap, a facemask drawn over her nose. People looked anyway, trying to peer closer into her face when they thought they would recognize her.

She saw phones being taken out of pockets to snap pictures of her and then turned around to the black SUV that was their family car. Abby too was wearing a disguise, though both of them didn’t bother to try too hard. He had a dark purple hoodie on, the hood drawn up on his head and sunglasses on his nose. Once he saw the phones pointed at him from the sidewalk, he turned his head toward the street so they could snap pictures of the back of his head.

When she finally retrieved the breakfast, she quickly made her way through the crowd and jumped back into the car. “Jeez. It’s like what. 8 in the morning?” she huffed while Abby started the car again.

He chuckled. “Well, we knew this was going to happen.”

She only huffed at him, busying herself with eating and feeding him while they were on their way to the label. It didn’t take them long to arrive, parking the car into the garage of the building. The building was private, so she knew the only ones being here were people working for the label, bandmates and occasionally members of other bands. And each of those people held a nda or was trying to protect their privacy as well.

“Ah, Rumi and Jinu are here.” Mira said when she got out of the car, seeing Rumi’s car, sporting the huge ‘HUNTR/X’ emblem on the side, and Jinu’s motorbike. So they had arrived separately. A dark blue sports car parked up beside them, making Abby turn his head toward it.

Mystery and Zoey arrived together. “Morning, guys.” Zoey chirped when she got off, taking her sunglasses off and drawing the facemask down her face. As usual she went over to Mira to hug her tightly. Mira smiled a bit, lifting her cap a bit up on her head.

“Good morning, sweetheart.” She then fist bumped with Mystery, who was equally covered up, by being uncovered. He had his hair pulled back into a ponytail, so his bangs weren’t falling into his face for once. Sunglasses on his nose and a beanie to top it off.

“Let’s face their wrath?” he asked quietly, having wandered over to Abby to check in with his bandmate as well.

“Yeah, let’s do this.” Abby sighed, the four of them making their way to the elevator bringing them right into the offices on the higher levels of this building.

They walked down the hallway, chatting quietly. Romance was already there, releasing a squirming Jack toward his parents once the boy laid eyes on them.

“Appa.. Eomma..!” he shouted, flailing his arms. Mira caught him mid run, snuggling him close to her chest with a smile.

“Morning, baby. You had fun with Uncle Ro?” she asked, kissing his tiny forehead.

“Uh huh. I eaten two popcorns.” he beamed, proudly that he managed to eat all of that.

“Only two? Man, thought you’d be gobbling down more.” Abby chuckled, teasing the little one. He knew the boy meant more than just two pieces of popcorn, but like, Abby could help himself.

“Appaaaa..” Jack whined, making grabby hands until he was into Abby’s arms.

“Hey, fam. Who’s going to hold Miss Napalm back when they start their onslaught on us?” Baby had turned up too, grinning a bit at his bandmates and the two members of Huntrix.

“We’re just planting Jack into her lap so she has to control herself.” Zoey shrugged, giggling at Mira sticking her tongue out at her. “Where are Rumi and Jinu though?”

“They’re already in there, probably getting an earful.” Romance sighed, rubbing his face. “They said they needed to talk to the leaders before all of us. And something about them not having their members under control.” He rolled his eyes.

Romance should be proven right a moment later, Voices getting louder on the other side of the door.

“That’s Jinu raising his voice.” Zoey blinked, looking up at Mystery. The demon sighed, having pulled down the sunglasses to reveal his mismatched colored eyes.

“Yeah, great. He’ll be in good spirit then.” Baby grumbled, crossing his arms in front of his chest. They all snapped their heads up when another voice screamed.

“Aaaannnddd this is Rumi.” Mira sighed. In the last couple of years, Rumi had gotten bolder, not being the walk over anymore and standing up for herself. She was proud of her leader for that development, but for her to be shouting this loud, things were probably going down quickly.

The door flung open a moment later, Rumi marching out to her bandmates and the rest of the Saja Boys. “Good to see you all here.” she breathed to calm down, offering the lot a warm smile. “They want all of us inside there.” she added, stepping aside to make space for them to enter the huge office behind her.

Inside was a big conference table, a bunch of important looking men in dark suits strung up on one side of the table like pearls on a chain. Most of them were older men, already greying, two of them rather young. Maybe their age. Well, the girls. Mira doubted any of them would be as old as the youngest demon in here, which was Abby. At the end of the table sat a young woman, a laptop in front of her. She was probably writing protocol.

Jinu sat in a chair, arms crossed and a scowl on his face. Oh, yeah, he was pissed.

They ushered inside, each taking a seat. Instead of separating into their respective groups, they mixed. Zoey in the middle of Baby and Mystery, Rumi taking her seat back beside Jinu, Romance on her other side. Mira took a seat beside Romance with Abby at her other side. He had Jack on his lap, letting the boy watch something on his phone. It was a silent protest on their part.

“Great that you joined us today, Huntrix and Saja Boys.” one of the older men began, his gaze wandering to each and everyone of them. “We have some things to set straight. First of all - What was that about last nights live? Social media is going up and down with rumors.”

“What about it?” Mira snapped back after she heard Rumi grumbling. She would take over this conversation for her leader. Rumi raised a brow, watching her second in command, then sighed a breath of relief. Thank god.

“You know exactly what, Mira. Zoey showing off a ring that looked very suspiciously close to an engagement ring. Rumi showing her two wedding bands - we know this for a fact, because they both are wearing them right now too.” the suit nodded sternly, looking at each of the mentioned person. “And you have been wearing a bracelet with the name ‘Kua’ on it.”

“It’s Kwan, suitface.” Mira rolled her eyes, drawing light snickering from both band members. “It’s the name of Abby’s and mine son.” she added, crossing her arms.

“Didn’t know you had a son, Mira.”

Mira froze at the voice behind her. She cramped up her muscles, her face a mix of shock and anger. Anger took over quickly though. Oh they didn’t dare.

“Jun.” Mira snapped, turning around. Behind her was a man, looking so much like her, but instead of the pink mob of hair she was sporting, he had brown hair. Abby looked the man over, trying to remember where he knew him from. “What the fuck are you doing here?” she shot up to him, having stood up with such a force that her chair had tumbled over.

The girls widened their eyes, giving each other a look. They knew exactly who this was. The boys exchanged confused glances.

“Oh, we’ve been contacted because of your antics. Mother and father are not pleased with your behavior. They will be seething when they learn that you have a child, nonetheless.”

The realization settled in the boys. Uh oh. This would make Mira’s older brother.

“For real?” Mira screeched, shooting a glare toward the men on the other side of the table. They looked satisfied with themselves. “I am a grown ass woman. What the fuck is your fucking problem!” They didn’t look that much satisfied anymore when they realized her anger.

“Calm down, Mira. No need to blow up. They were concerned, that is all. And I understand why.” Jun let his gaze linger on Abby, giving a stupid grin at his angered expression.

Abby growled, getting up from his seat. He hoisted Jack against his hip, watching over the members of both bands. “This talk is over.” he stated matter-of-factly, exchanging a look with Jinu. The black haired demon nodded once, standing up as well.

“We were willing to talk with you, civilized. We were willing to work something out with you. Yet, you had to try and rile Huntrix up without consideration for what it would mean to bring someone in, who has time and time again be nothing but hostile toward one of their band members. Consider this us searching a new label as the Saja Boys.” Jinu said, calmly, motioning his boys to get up. They followed suit, getting ready to walk out.

Mira was still a seething ball of anger, her jaw clenched tightly as the hands on her sides.

“I am too very surprised at this move. For the record - Huntrix will reveal their secrets soon. And we will do it under a new label as well. Consider this our resignation too.” Rumi had stood up as well, having walked over to her choreographer to rest a hand on her upper back. Anything to ground Mira. Zoey had joined her side, her eyebrows too drawn down in anger.

The sound rushing through the suits was one of surprise. “You can’t simply quit your contracts.”

“We can and we do. There’s a bunch of other labels waiting for us to sign any contract we dictate them.” Abby finally spoke up, trying to stay as calm as possible. He had a palm on Mira’s lower back, trying to ground her as much as Rumi did. “C’mon love. We leave.” he mumbled then toward Mira, who had her gaze still fixed on her brother in front of her.

Jinu made the start to walk out, his boys trailing behind him.

“Bye, cunts.” Baby saluted, then turned on his heels on his way out. Huntrix followed suit, dragging Mira along with them.

Bobby was already waiting outside, looking concerned when he rushed over to huddle his girls. “Mira, Baby, I didn’t know. I am so so sorry. I would have prevented it if they had let me in.” he offered, his brows drawn in apology.

“It’s alright, Bobby. We know you would’ve stopped them.” Rumi offered him, a small, warm smile on her lips. “We need a new label, though.”

“Yes, I expected as much.” he sighed, rubbing Mira’s arm to calm her down.

Mira was still in some kind of angered stupor, her eyes unfocused but glistening with tears. What in the world was this shit show called life lately? First the demon attack, then Celine being a cunt, now this? She breathed out, trying so hard to hold up her composure, to not let it get under her skin as much.

“Mira. Come on, let’s leave this shit show.” Abby’s voice sounded in her mind, rubbing circles into her back.

“You don’t even say goodbye, Mira?” Her brother had followed them out, shaking his head and chuckling lowly. His arms were crossed, oozing so much arrogance. Abby snapped his head toward him, eyes glowering golden for a second. Mira’s anger was making him anxious.

Mystery had picked up Jack from his fathers arms when he realized how angry Abby was, taking a step aside. Get the boy to safety.

“You better leave.” he warned the brown haired man in front of him, shielding Mira’s body with his own frame. Yeah no, he wasn’t getting close to his woman. Romance had joined his side, hands in his pockets, head tilted with a cocky grin.

“Better listen to the big guy.” he smirked. He knew the force Abby could be, but they wouldn’t need a dead man in this hallway right now.

“I don’t think you can decide that.” Jun began, taking steps toward both men shielding his sister, “After all, Mira is my family.”

“She’s not.” Abby growled, patterns raising up on his face. His voice was laced with the echoing of his demon. He would punch this guy square into his arrogant smile. Yes, he would.

“It’s alright. Let’s go Abby.” Jinu had stepped beside him as well, a hand on the shoulder. “Don’t give him the satisfaction of riling you, or Mira, up.” He reasonated.

Yes, this was way smarter than murdering a human right here and then. Mira didn’t realize she had started to walk toward the exit, her feet moving without her doing. Once the demons realized she was leaving, they began trailing up behind her.

“We will contact you soon, Mira. Mother surely wants to know all about your child.” Jun called behind her, making her shoulders twitch.

“Tell the bitch to go and suck cock instead. It’s what she can do best.” Mira snapped back, not looking back at her brother. Out of here. Quickly. And then trying to find a solution for.. whatever this all was.

She realized she was shielded from both sides when she let her gaze wander slightly. Abby, Romance and Jinu were behind her, guarding her back. Rumi and Zoey were on her sides, both women had a hand on her arms to steady and ground her. Bobby was just a step in front of her. Baby was leading the bunch, Mystery behind him with a very confused Jack on his shoulders. But he was shielding Bobby and Mira from the front.

A little breath escaped her at the show of protection and affection toward her.

Yes, this was her family. Not whatever monsters she came from. She slowly began to relax the more distance there was between her and her brother, still trying to not let the tears stinging in her eyes  fall down. She did so the whole ride down the elevator, the whole way up to the practice room. They had to grab their stuff before leaving the building for a last time.

When they arrived, she went over to one of the bathrooms, closing the door behind her. That’s when she broke down, sliding down the wall. The tears spilling from her eyes, silent sobs making her chest heave.

She didn’t hear the knock or voices of concern from outside, letting her emotions eat her up for a moment.

She would be fine. She just had to be dramatic about it first.
