Chapter 1: Fitcheck for her Napalm Era

Chapter I

Fitcheck for her Napalm Era
It had been some time since the wrecked Idol Awards, that had Rumi leaving laid bare before the whole world and her trusted, fellow hunters. Things had been turning on her, she knew and broke.
In the End, thanks to the sacrifice of the demon at fault for breaking her into a million tiny pieces in front of the whole world, they saved the same world, created a new, stronger Honmoon and Gwi-Ma was defeated, albeit likely not dead.
Cut to some years later, things were looking peaceful, just some rips and demons here and there to fight into. It kept them on their toes.
Mira sighed at the memories, laying in her bed, her back propped up against the headboard. She’d disregarded the Book she was reading while reminiscing about the time after the Idol Awards and the things unfolding in a surprisingly different manner than she’d expected.
She let her gaze wander through the bedroom, long since she’s shared a dorm with her fellow hunters, having her own space and studio loft somewhere in the heart of Seoul. Soft, warm tones played on the walls, one wall plastered with photos in a way that no stone was shining through. She looked them over, a small smile tugging at her lips. She let the gaze wander more, she really needed to tidy up the room, she thought to herself. Discharged clothes spewn across the floor, some takeout boxes on the vanity besides the huge balcony doors, dust collecting on the mirror. Yeah, no, this room needed a deep clean.
She frowned.
As she was mapping out time for her to squeeze deep cleaning the bedroom into her already tightly packed schedule, something besides her caught her attention. A slight stirring, muffled sigh coming from the pile of blankets besides her. Her gaze softened, a warm smile playing around her lips as she looked down at the teeny face squished out from a cocoon of blankets. She chuckled quietly to herself at the sight.
“Nnnhh.. what's so funny in the middle of the night?” The groggy voice caught her attention, holding a finger to his lips and motioning a shush while pointing her head toward the blanket pile between them.
“Don’t you dare wake him up. It took almost 3 hours of tiny handed assault on my chest to get him to sleep.” she chuckled, looking a little exhausted.
“Been there, done that.” a low chuckle answered. “Why are you up anyway? It's like… “ a check on the phone on the nightstand, “...2.30 in the night. The hell, Mira?”
“It’s called sleep procrastination, Abs. You should try it some time, it's absolutely fun.” Mira deadpanned, sighing afterwards.
Another low chuckle coming from beside her.
“You know, love, I can take him over for you to have some ‘Me-Time’” Abby airquoted the last part, a knowing grin creeping up his face.
A swat at the naked chest got her a bit-back laugh of him.
“No, serious Mira. He’s a bundle of energy, demonic energy…” Abby knew the last part made her huff and grinned, “.. I can handle him tonight. Get it on with the girls. Zoey’s been pestering me about meeting up with you for days now.” he sighed.
Mira laughed quietly. Yeah, being an Idol, Hunter and Mom didn’t leave much time to be Mira. She’s been truly in her napalm era.
“I know, outside from hunting your kind..”, she gave him a pointed look when earning a shit eating grin, “.. and being ushered from promo, to concert, to stage.. there’s really no time left for the girls.” She sighed. She wouldn’t trade her little family for the world, but sometimes missed the times with Huntrix, privately. A slender finger reached out, brushing a tiny tuft of pink hair out of the toddler's face between them. A smile on her lips.
Abby followed her gaze, grin replaced by the same soft, loving smile.
“Jack will be fine a day without his Eomma.” he started. “I know you got some time until the next show and I can tell that black haired slave driver that I need to take one or two days off practice. Our next show won’t be until a month away.” he suggested, shrugging.
Mira sighed “Jinu’s as much of a workaholic as Rumi is, he won’t let you off the hook that easily.”
“Well, it’s for his wife’s good too, right? And nothing is more important than ‘Rumis wellbeing and comfort’” he tried to sound like his leader, rolling his eyes afterwards and earning a small laugh from Mira.
“Oh stop it, can’t be anyone being a lust hungry idiot like you. Some people love each other, like a couple. Like.. you know, the norm.” She was teasing, knowing how to get a pout from that dumbass. Her dumbass.
They hadn’t married. Mira saw no need to, and Abby agreed. They belonged to each other's side, no matter what. Not that she had expected this turn of events. Especially after the whole them trying to burn the world and turning it into demon galore when they popped up 5 years ago. She still hated demons with every fiber of her being, but had a soft spot for these 5 freaks she called family now. She learned that they weren’t all soulless, heartless vessels without emotions. Quite the opposite. They seemed to be radiating and oozing emotion.
It had taken a long time after them popping up again and redeeming themselves after the Idol Awards for her to fold in. Abby had been persistent in bothering her, as had Romance. Her walls were up, not trusting as always and sharp as a knife as she backed down their advances time and time again. Until that time, she couldn’t resist. When her world crumpled after her birth family reached out to just lash at and hurt her. When she was a shell of herself for days on end, shutting everyone out, it had been Abby getting through to her. Concerned, soft. His persistence at keeping her company finally led to a night, she was sure, she would remember even when her time came. She had told herself that she would only let herself go this one time. Too wary and drowned in self-hatred to really stop it from happening. But she soon found herself in a secret tangle with the big boy of the Sajas. He seemed to get her in ways most people didn’t. They hid their little meetings, their lustful encounters and their little touches as good as they could. He knew she'd be sinking her Gok-Do into him at first sight of him trying to go public - even with just her girls.
That was until she found out about the little ball of sunshine snuggled and wedged between his parents. It was one time. Alcohol to no end and failing birth control. She should’ve known better. Oh how scared she was to tell Rumi and Zoey. They both had long surrendered to their feelings by then, Rumi even married that black haired idiot. All in secrecy, that’s what being an Idol meant. And Zoey? Sweet, little, turtle-loving Zoey… She’d folded in no time to Mystery, though Mira couldn’t quite get a grip on the Enigma that he was. When she came clean, the expected backlash and anger at her lying to them the whole time didn’t come.
“Fucking finally!” Zoey had squeaked and pumped her fist in the air triumphantly. “Baby.. .you owe me 2000 bucks.” she added in a giggle. Mira had been silenced into a dumbfounded stupor. Wait, what?
Rumi had seemed to be equally happy and jumpy, until it hit her “...wait. Pregnant. Like baby pregnant?” she had looked at Mira shocked, when it settled in. A sigh, that puffed out the cheeks of the purple haired half-demon, left her lips. “Eeesh Mira, if you do something, then the whole nine yards.”
“We will figure it out though. You don’t need to come clean in front of the fans, at least not now. You’re not showing yet and we will come up with a reason for a hiatus all the same.” Rumi had winked, when her gaze wandered to her husband chewing Abby a new one silently. Abby had looked absolutely mortified, reduced into a sulking, pouting being that couldn't even meet Jinu's eyes.
He’d been so terrified as well, but never had shown it. Deep down, Mira knew anyway. His shame radiating off him the moment they both looked horrified to the little window stating “Pregnant
2-3 weeks”
Mira only chuckled at the memory now. It had been scary and hell, she wanted to simply die on the spot, but it was worth it. Three years after that, their two year old was sleeping peacefully between the warmth of them. One tiny hand had pushed free from the blanketfort he was snuggled up in, grabbing tightly around a strand of Mira’s long hair. It was his thing. Curling her hair around teeny fingers and pulling them to comfort himself. Mira had read that some babies do this, so she’d let him. It didn’t bother her most times, even though she felt often touched out. Ah, being a Mom. A satisfied smack of lips came from her side, little fangs showing slightly. He had yet to learn to use glamour. Not that it was too obvious, but he would soon start preschool and Mira was understandably scared of reactions.
She heard herself chuckling at the noise.
“..Just like his appa, huh.” she grinned, looking at her partner's face, who was sticking his tongue out to her in a scowl.
“Apple doesn't fall far from the horse, love.” he answered and shifted to sit up. “Imma take him to his bed.” he explained at her glance, gently unwrapping tiny fingers from her hair.
“You don’t need to, it’s fine. He loves sleeping besides Mommy.” she shrugged.
“..and I love sleeping with Mommy. It’s been a while.” The smile turned again into a shit eating grin at her flustered face. A low chuckle rumbled in his chest. “Maybe Uncle Jinu can take him some time soon for a sleep over. Auntie Rumi would love it and we’d have the whole damn loft and night to ourselves.” he added. This earned him another swat against his chest, though more halfheartedly.
Abby stole a quick kiss from Mira before gently moving the blanket pile that was their son, shushing him at his stirring. He then moved to the room next door, while Mira watched him leave, cheeks still lightly pink from his playful, yet hungry voice, smiling nonetheless. God, she loved this dumbass so much. Not that she would ever admit that out loud. When he returned, he shut their door not all the way, leaving a little gap, so that they could immediately react, if Jack was stirring or crying. Which would be soon, when he realized the missing warmth of his Mom and Dad.
“We got like… a couple minutes before he comes back running, I guess. Better make it quick.” he grinned, moving toward the magenta haired woman, with that unamused look on her face.
“It’s not like I wouldn’t be used to ‘quick’.” she teased, earning a scowl before being pressed down, while she tried to not die in a fit of giggles at his flustered face.
As expected, it didn't take long for tiny feet approaching them again, while they laid huddled together, legs a tangled mess, Abby spooning Mira from behind. They were quietly talking, Abby absentmindedly stroking Mira’s belly under the shirt, she’d dropped on again after their little entangle earlier.
“Mommyyyy~...” a small whine came forward with the patter of tiny feet, arms flailing while crashing into Mira. She smiled some, pressing a kiss on top of his head.
“It’s alright, baby. I’m here, so is Daddy.” she shushed, cuddling the boy close to her chest and resting her chin on top of his head.
The boy settled more into his mother before shooting a glare over her shoulder. “My Eomma,” he glared at his fathers cheeky grin, earning a boop on the nose.
“Mhm.. and my woman, sweetheart.” Abbys grin melted into a loving smile, “Get back to sleep, we’re here.” His hand reached out, to tuck some pink hair out of the little glaring eyes, leaning over Mira to kiss the teeny forehead, before settling back down and draping his arm back around Mira’s waist.
She too scooted down, yawning a bit and snuggling her Baby Boy close and her back into her partner. It didn’t take long for them to drift off to sleep this time. She felt content, protected and loved. Not that she would’ve dared to even dream of it, years ago.
Chapter 2: Her Voice with(out) the lies
Summary:
“Yeah, Hello to you too, beloved fellow huntress.” Mira rolled her eyes, standing in the doorway like a forgotten takeout order. She watched Rumi leave with a smile though, but then frowned. Something seemed… off. Abby didn’t miss her look, raising a brow. “What is it?” he asked, voice low. Before Mira could answer, Jinu appeared, also having noticed Mira’s look.
Damn her ability to read the room like a god damn fairytale.

Chapter Text
The next morning came mercilessly early. Huntrix had been on a little pause these past couple weeks, not a real hiatus, just some downtime after a year of tiring Shows and Concerts all over South Korea.
The Sajaboys, on the other end, were working on their third album and Jinu, as their leader, was as restless about work, as Rumi was with Huntrix. So the boys had been up and about the studio days on end, nights to come.
So, when the little patter of tiny hands on bare skin woke Mira up, she turned a look over her shoulder.
During the night, they had shifted, little demon boy wedged against the warmth of his parents again, in the middle, while Mira and Abby had, at some point, turned away from each other to escape toes and fingers shoved up their faces. That little one slept like a drunken octopus and seemed to cast up limbs out of nowhere.
Jack was patting Abby's muscled back relentlessly, beaming a smile.
“Appa, up up. I’m hungryyyy..” he whined, being used to Abby getting up first thing in the morning to prepare breakfast. Mira couldn’t cook to save her life, except for her beloved instant ramyeon - not that this would be hard.
“Hey.. shh.. let him sleep, Jack.” Mira had turned and plugged her son from his fathers back, cradling him on her lap. “Daddy’s been home late at night, he’s tired.”
A little scowl looked up at her. “But I wanna eat.”
Eesh. Demons and their hunger. She raised an eyebrow at the scowling boy, poking his cheek.
“I know, and I will make you breakfast.” He looked both, shocked and afraid at his mothers words.
“Nooo. Please. Daddy will make breakfast.”
Yeah, well, thanks tiny gremlin, Mira thought. She knew she was a terrible cook, even burning eggs. Or pasta water. But she, fairly well, could make a bowl of cereal. This didn’t include the stove at all. Her eye twitched a bit, sighing to remain in a calm posture.
“Kwan - I mean it. Let appa sleep.” Mira said a little more steady, holding the tiny pouting gaze. The boy twitched at his real name being used - they’ve come accustomed to calling him Jack, thanks to Zoey. She’s said the names basically mean the same and he looked like a Jack. Zoey logic was not a logic, one could simply follow. But somehow, that stuck with all of them.
Mira started to stand up, hoisting the still pouting toddler onto her hip.
“Listen - I will get you cereal, alright? You love them.” She watched as his pout eased a bit and a grin, so similar to Abby’s crept up on his face.
They’d say, he looked like a carbon copy of her, slender face, sharp features, eyes who could kill with one look - she didn’t see it. All she saw was Abby in the way the boy smiled and goofed off, the way his eyes crinkled at some stupid joke and the way a little, fanged smirk crept up his face every so often. He too had his fathers nose and high browbones, she mused.
They finally had made their way into the open kitchen-dining room area, Mira plugging a bowl from one of the cupboards. It was his favorite, she knew. A little lion screaming at him from the bottom of the bowl, all cutesy and chibi’d up, when he would finish his food. He would always roar at the end, like he was answering the drawn on roaring lion in the bowl. It made her chuckle. She proceeded to throw in some cereal, topped off with some milk, just how he liked it. She sat him down at the table in his chair, getting his breakfast in front of him before getting up and pouring some milk into a mug for him as well. She’d started her coffee too, plopping next to him, when all was done. Mira watched the little one munching down happily, when she heard Abby’s voice coming closer.
“...yah, she’s left it in the bedroom, probably turned it off last night..” a short pause, listening to something, “mhm, will do. Tell that husband of yours I’m out for today.” Ah, he was on the phone with Rumi. Mira had turned her phone off last night while she was getting Jack into bed, the constant buzzing distracting the little one’s sleep. She must’ve forgotten to turn it back on. “Awww c’mon Rapunzel - he’ll rip my head off, but bow to your every wish. I need to take care of my son today - plus you’ll get Mira for a bathhouse trip the whole day.” he grinned at the squeal on the other end, holding his phone off his ear.
He wandered over to the table, plopping Mira’s phone in front of her, while returning to his call with Rumi. Sitting down, he listened to her convincing Jinu on the other end, imagining the leader of the Saja Boys sighing but relenting to every whim of her. It made him laugh quietly, winking at the woman beside him. “..mmmyyep. Tell him, will do. But later that eve. Alright, Imma drop Mira off in a bit at your house. Gotta call tiny too, she’ll be bummed, if she isn’t in on this.” he chuckled. “Alright, bye Rumi.” he said, clicking his phone off to text Zoey.
“What did you do?” Mira had raised an eyebrow, watching his face light up a bit at his phone screen. He watched over the edge of that screen to her, shrugging at her puzzled face.
“Told you, you should take a day off, hun. No turning backs now, you need off time from this one.” A finger pointed to their son, roaring at the lion in his bowl. His attention flicked back to his phone, hissing a muttered breath - “..here we go…”
He picked the incoming call up, holding his phone quickly away from his ear. The scream at the other end was inhuman.
“Say you mean it! Abby! Don’t try to trick me, Oppa!” Zoey. It was obviously Zoey, that had read his text message prior.
Mira couldn’t help herself, but smirked at the wincing face of her partner beside her. That’s right. Zoey was more squealy than Rumi. Or anything sane on this planet. It was annoying. She loved it.
“I swear to whoever is now king of hell..,” Abby sighed when he looked at Mira, his eye twitching, “.. Mystery MUST be deaf by now.” He returned his attention back to his phone while Mira laughed quietly.
“Yes, I do mean it, turtlegirl. She needs a break and a fancy girls day. So she’s all yours for today.” he answered, listening again with the phone angled away from his now ringing ear. “...Yes, tiny. It includes couch and snacks too. Best at yours or Rumi’s, unless you want your girls day hi’jacked’ by Jack.” He laughed at his own dumb joke. Mira rolled her eyes. Idiot. Lovely Idiot.
He turned his goofy smile towards her, chuckling at her deadpanned expression. Alright, he absolutely adored the daggers in her eyes. He mouthed ‘hot’ at her while wiggling his brows a bit, getting an drawn out “Ewww.” in return. It made him laugh.
“Listen, Zoey, I will drop her off at Rumi’s as soon as we finish up breakfast and wrangled the gremlin into actual clothes.” Abby had returned to the phone, sitting a bit back in the chair, while dangling one arm over the back. “Yes, I’ll text you, as soon as we’ll leave… no I will not teleport.” he drew his brows together a bit at the answer, breathing out slowly, “..because I’ve been wretched on upon the last time.” again a pause, listening, “I know he’s my son. Doesn’t make it less gross. Okay, so get ready then, see you in a bit. Tell Myst, I said Hi.”
He clicked the phone off, breathing a long breath, he’d been seemingly holding. Mira chuckled, having finished up cleaning the breakfast of her son from the table while he was busy on the phone. “Sorry ‘bout that. Forgot that I turned my phone off last night. I know, you must be tired.” she said, reaching out to gently brush his hair. He leaned into the touch, almost purring.
“Nah it’s fine. Plus, you’d have turned them down anyway, now you gotta go and get your pretty ass pampered.” He made sure to pinch said ass as he was smirking up at her. Mira only sighed, shaking her head while rolling her eyes. “O-kay. I will go..” she drawled, shaking her head again.
“Good girl.”
Thump. A hand had smacked the back of his head. Worth it.
He laughed at her, before watching her fondly. “Now, now. No assault in front of the children.” He pointed his chin toward a curious looking Jack, raising a brow. “Pack your stuff and get ready, I’ll take care of Mini-You.” With that, he scooped the giggling boy upside down on his shoulder and vanished off.
Mira, again, shook her head, smiling. Well, a day in the bathhouse and with her girls it is. She was excited, missing them.
It wasn’t long before they turned up to the countryside house, very close to the hunters' graves and willow tree. Rumi and Jinu had decided to leave Seoul, trying their best to remain private with their marriage, keeping their Idol personalities up. The fans, as much as they loved them, could be cruel. They wanted to hide away their private lives as much as possible. They didn’t know about any of them dating, they didn’t know about the offspring Mira and Abby had produced. Huntrix label had taken the Saja Boys under their wing too, so no one was really surprised that they collabed here and there. Though, keeping their whole little world private and unbroken, was an art of work on its own. One, that wouldn’t be possible without the help of their “adopted” Dad - Bobby. He loved his girls and would do anything for them. Even if it meant taking the brute of the industry, so they could have their private lives in peace.
So far, they’d made it 3,5 years of marriage for Rumi and Jinu - yes, they had practically almost married as soon as they’d been reunited. Mira wanted to throw up back then - solid a little over 3 years of Zoey dating Mystery and.. well, Abby and her hadn’t started to actually lean into a relationship until well into her pregnancy. He was there for her, sure, but wouldn’t pressure her into anything she didn’t want. So practically they were fuck-buddies, becoming parents, turning into lovers to being undeniably in love with each other. What a whirlwind these past 3 years have been.
They always said that they had to come clean sooner or later… but it was going well the way it was.
Abby parked the black SUV in front of the house, the windows on the back tinted in a way, that no one could peek inside. He checked twice for Dispatch or any other disturbance, before peeling from the drivers seat and helping Mira and their little one out of the back. He put Jack on his shoulders and Mira’s bag on his arm, so the only thing she had to carry was her pretty self. He gave her a smile, sunglasses still up on his nose and the cap drawn deep into his face. Mira was disguised as well, even though they should be totally safe out here. Jinus' magic would conceal most, if not all of it, and Rumi’s talismans should do the rest.
They quickly realized that their Hunter/demon dynamic was a deadly mix to those demons that were coming here illminded - but also after them boys for their betrayal. So they made extra sure to be protected.
Mira looked back at him with the same smile, her glasses on top of her nose, the signature hair pulled into a low ponytail and hidden away under a hoodie. They marched up to the door, and without a thought, Abby flung the door open. He was greeted with a sword to his neck. Damn, anxious Rumi was the worst Rumi.
“Holy… balls..” he almost had cursed, “Rumi, it’s me.” Jack seemed to be amused by Rumi’s antics, not that he knew any different than her being jumpy when his Dad was all but polite barging in. He squealed, making grabby hands at her. “Ruuuuuumiiii…” reaching toward her, “Auntie hug!”
Rumi’s stance loosened, her sword disappearing beneath the Honmoon before making grabby hands back at her favorite nephew. Even if he wasn’t by blood, he was as much her baby, as Mira was her sister. “Jaaaaack~” she singsang, plugging him from his fathers shoulders and turning on her heels while she snuggled him.
“Heeey, you three. Get in, get in.” he greeted a smile plastered to his face so unnaturally, it unnerved Mira even more.
“Spit it, slave driver. What is it?” she asked bluntly, using Abby’s words from last night.
“What is what? Rumi?”, Jinu looked behind himself, shrugging while trying to distract, “Nothing. She’s missed the little gremlin.” Ah, yeah another nickname Jack had earned from the group. He lied. Mira knew he lied. He was good at it, but she was better at detecting. She shook her head, cautiously making her way toward Rumi. She didn’t want to be distrustful, but she watched her like a lioness, ready to defend her cub at any moment given - because that’s what it was.
Zoey had already been dropped off by her boyfriend, running toward Rumi to claim the little one to herself. Oh, and Jack looooooved all the attention. Mira relaxed a bit, giving Jinu a glance. “Jinu, what is wrong?” she’s heard herself asking again, hand twitching. She was so ready to summon her Gok-Do and send him back to whatever king was reigning down there.
Jinu sighed a breath, looking toward his wife and Zoey with the little one. A warm smile crept up. “She’ll tell you soon, I’m sure.” He glanced back, thwacking Abby’s shoulder. “Hey, what's that for?” Abby frowned.
“Bumming out today. The boys caught whiff of it and lo and behold, they all bummed out. We got still so much work, Abby.” Jinu had crossed his arms. Always the leader. But Abby was second in charge to him, and he only shrugged.
“Sorry boss, but I have a bigger duty to my son.” He hissed, rolling his eyes. Mira left them to banter, not interested in their back and forth.
She joined the girls, plucking her son back against her hips. Just in case. It drew pouts and whimpering up, two sets of big puppy eyes begging her. “Nah, don’t.” Mira side eyed them. “Jack, be a good boy and go back to Appa, yes? Eomma and your aunties want to have some girly time.” Jack made a face at that, crunching his nose as he looked disgusted as any boy would be at “girly things”.
Besides, she needed him to save Abby from Jinu's monologue about work ethics. Jack ran off squealing, tackling Jinu’s legs and startling him. Mira barked a laugh. Served him right.
“Sooo.. what is it, you need to tell us, Rumi?” Mira asked directly, studying her gaze. Rumi threw her hands up, a big fake smile plastered on her face. Huh. “Soon, soon. In the bathhouse. Let’s go.”
She shoved the girls toward the door, waving Abby while giving her husband a peck on his cheek. He smiled warmly, resting a hand on her waist. “Have fun.” both men said in unison, watching the girls leave.
So. Then. To the bathhouse. Mira couldn’t shake the strange feeling, Zoey having caught on as well, giving her a look. They were attentive, watching every step of their leader with caution. What was so different about her? They couldn’t exactly pinpoint it.
And hoped she would open up in the bathhouse. No more lies. That was the deal.

Chapter 3: Couch Couch Couch
Summary:
Well, they asked for it. “...which leads me to earlier. I gotta tell you something.” She sighed.
“You’ve had a threesome!” - “ZOEY!” Mira and Rumi spat at her, Mira almost choking laughing, Rumi red as a tomato, glaring.

Chapter Text
It wasn’t long before the three girls arrived at the bathhouse. Rumi had made sure to rent it out, so that they would have privacy to themselves. There was nothing more ruining the vibe, when some people just started screaming over Huntrix in the bathhouse. While those Huntrix were laying there, stark naked, in the water. The silence was much more appreciated.
All three girls lowered with a sigh into the hot water. It had been some time since they last had done that. It felt good to all their overworked muscles and bones, and their souls.
“So… what’s been up with you guys?” Zoey started, still remembering the strange behavior from earlier. Mira cocked a brow, glancing over to Rumi who seemed to find the tiles besides her much more interesting than anything else. She was fidgeting too. Strange.
“Welp… nothing much. Drowning in motherhood. Failing at being a housewife. Sex has never been less than in these past weeks.” Mira shrugged nonchalantly. They knew the brute force that was Mira, but the last comment made both of her bandmates choke on their own spit. Mira’s face split into a shit eating grin this time. “What about you?”
“Uhh.. well, yeah nothing much either. Just enjoying ~Couuuuch~ and waiting for Myst to return home at night. Jinu’s been slaving them.” Zoey scowled, shooting a small glare at their purple haired leader, who only raised a brow in return. As if that was her fault. Eeesh.
“Tell me about it.” Mira sighed. She shook her head off the thought, glazing back to Rumi. “Now you, lilac. What’s happened in your vaca?”
Rumi gulped, two sets of eyes looking at her. One set expectantly and hopeful, the other more than skeptical. Ohhh man, okay here goes.
“Well.. you see. Nothing much either..” she began, trying to map her thoughts out carefully before finally thinking - what.the.fuck. these are my best friends - “although can’t complain about the sex part.” She grinned at their disgusted faces. Well, they asked for it. “...which leads me to earlier. I gotta tell you something.” She sighed.
“You’ve had a threesome!” - “ZOEY!” Mira and Rumi spat at her, Mira almost choking laughing, Rumi red as a tomato, glaring. Zoey giggled at her friend’s expression, winking at her. “What.. the two other boys must be lonely…” This time, Rumi threw her towel at her head. Zoey squeaked but laughed all the same.
“You’re right. They must be so frustrated. I know Abby won’t shut up about anything related to intercourse.” Mira rolled her eyes, sighing and a blush creeping up her cheeks. She’d seen the boy’s glances. She knew he was taletelling secrets about them. Ugh. A hand dragged up her face.
Rumi blinked twice, having been with them in the studio once Abby was more than happily teasing the other boys about some privacy she knew she shouldn’t know about Mira. Welp. She shook her head to cramp up her thoughts.
“I’m pregnant.”
The words sat in silence, Rumi’s cheeks red with a blush. At least for a moment before she heard the water sloosh around her. Both girls had wrapped her up tightly in a bear hug.
“Rumi! This is such great news!” Zoey beamed, knowing her leader longed for her own little family. Knew she wanted to do so much better than what was done to her.
“Yeah, girl, congrats. Took you guys long enough.” Mira teased, winking at her. “How far along are you?”
“It’s pretty early. I’m 9 weeks by now. We found out about two weeks ago… but waited for doctor’s confirmation. It came this morning - that’s why I tried to call you Mira. I wanted to share with both of you as soon as we were sure.” Rumi smiled at her friend, getting a soft glance in return.
“We’re just so excited. Pretty sure Jinu’s already told your big guy, Mira. He could barely contain his excitement these past two weeks, wanting to let the guys know as soon as I peed on that damn stick.” she chuckled. Both girls joined her. “So sorry for being all messed up earlier, good catch though, Mira.” Mira nodded once, smiling.
“Yeah, sorry about not answering my phone. Kwan didn’t want to sleep last night.” she sighed, “so I turned it off, because it kept buzzing like a fucking bee on my nightstand.” Her eyeroll was big. Both girls laughed at her expression, while all three settled back into their spots in the hot tub.
“Nah it’s fine. I was a bit worried, so I called Abby. He seemed groggy, but when I said, I need you to come over, he told me about bathhouse and couch and I was so down for it.” Rumi laughed. “So I figured, I could tell you both here too. I wanted to smash that ultrasound into your faces as soon as you’ve entered the house.”
“And nearly killed the father of my child.” Mira mused, nodding toward Rumi.
Rumi raised a brow in return. “Well he should learn to use, like, the door bell. Or at least KNOCK before flying the door open. Imagine me and Jinu doing things here. And he just barges in, with that little gremlin on his shoulders. Now, that would’ve been funny to watch him explain.” Rumi chuckled, and both girls knew full well that Abby had walked in on them time and time again, like the menace he was. He was nonchalant about it as well. It surely came easy with him too with his constant teasing and flirting.
Mira laughed at the thought of her love trying to explain their child what he was seeing. She could see him struggle and hear it too. “Would’ve served him right, for once.” she commented. “But I’m happy it’s… this. And not another demon-hell-monster-zombie apocalypse brewing.” she added.
Zoey nodded along. “Yes, so while we’re airing out our hearts..” she started, drawing the attention upon herself. She felt their glances, a blush creeping up her neck. “..uh well, Mystery asked me to marry him.”
“And you politely declined, obviously.” Rumi smirked.
“More like, made the poor man finally deaf with your cry-screaming yes.” Mira chuckled.
Zoey beamed. “Yes, the second one. Obvious…lyyyyy.”
Now it was her turn to be squeezed tightly in a bear hug by the other two.
“Congrats, Zoe. You deserve it.” Mira smiled, Rumi nodding along. “Yeah, what she says. I’m so happy for you!”
All three settled back. “Well, Rumi… how are we going on about that whole.. baby spawning?” Mira asked. She’d gladly take over the blame this time, just as Rumi had with her when she couldn’t face the crowd anymore because of the very obvious bump. Rumi had told the fans, that she needed a mental health break, after working so hard and tirelessly. The fans were, luckily, very understanding and accepting of their 8 month long hiatus. Though the rumors spread through quickly, thinking she got pregnant. Mira sighed at the memory of the mean comments directed to their leader. “I’ll gladly take the brunt. Tell me when and what to do, I’ll be at your service.” she added quickly.
“Thank you, Mir.” Rumi smiled warmly at her lead choreograph. “We’ll figure something out. We still need to let Bobby in.”
“Will you tell Celine?” Zoey asked, her voice low and hushed.
An uncomfortable silence settled between them. Despite living near the ex-huntress home on the sacred grounds, Rumi hadn’t talked to her aunt since the night of the Idol Awards. So, it had been a while.
“...No.” Rumi answered with a finality that wouldn’t let them question her. The silence stretched some more, before Mira moved.
“Okay, Im squishy like a frog and my skin needs lotion desperately. And my ass needs couch. Huntrix headquarters?” She’d wrapped the towel around her slender frame, looking at Rumi staring. “What? Do I have something on my skin?” Mira looked down herself, confused.
“Nah.. just wondering… Kwan has been soooo big, your belly too. I thought you were about to combust at one point.” she chuckled lightly. “..how do you manage THIS body!”
Mira couldn’t help the loud laugh coming from her. “Like I would have time, Rumi! He keeps me on my toes every waking minute. And if it’s not him, it’s the dumbass of a Dad of him. I don’t even get the chance to relax and sin with snacks.” Welp, yes, girl. Get used to it. Mira smirked.
Rumi smiled at her, getting up and wrapping herself up as well as Zoey. “That sounds.. a lot. Overwhelming.”
“It is. And it’s the best thing like, ever.” Mira confirmed, a soft smile. Yes, Rumi would love being a mother. She’d find herself in their new family, Mira was sure. And she was sincerely happy for her best friend, leader and lead-Hunter.
“Sooo… Headquarters?” Zoey piped up.
“Yes, headquarters.” the others replied in unison, chanting couch couch couch couch on their way out.
They still had the headquarters and the living apartment there, though now merely a prop for internet shows to keep up the imaginary of them being just Idols and single. Hah. If the world knew.
Off to couch they went.

Chapter 4: I'ma gear up..
Summary:

Rumi giggled. “Well… can’t be bothered, honestly.”

Chapter Text
It had been a wonderful day. Full of giggling, full of memories old and new being made. Full of love and friendship, crying confessions, fluffy feelings and Babytalk. Especially Baby-Talk.
The girls had crashed down on the oh so famous couch in the Huntrix Headquarters, watching 759 2 second videos of turtles and snacking on anything they could get their grabby hands on.
They’d been a tangled, cuddled up mess with Rumi in the middle, with her legs tangled over Mira’s lap and Zoey smooshed face into Rumi’s chest, hugging both her girls as tightly as she could. Their eyes all had drooped by now, a satisfied tired washing over them. Mira had a slender, long arm draped around Rumi to rest her hand on top of Zoey’s head and playing with, now, loose black strands, sighing.
“Should we let the guys know where we are or are we crashing here tonight?” she asked. Sure, she’d miss the squirmy little man that was her son and more so the tall, muscled mountain that was her partner, but a night without tiny toes wedging in her nose sounded like heaven on earth.
Rumi picked up her head from Mira’s shoulder, looking at her for a moment. “I’d love to, but Jinu would be so worried, if I just check out for a night, and he doesn’t know where I am.” she smiled. “At least I have to let him know that we’re safe.”
She emphasized we, not only meaning her girls and herself, her palm also resting down on the lower part of her stomach.
“Same with Myst, we should at least let them know.” Zoey sighed. “Abby sure would be concerned too, Mir.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right.” Mira nodded. But neither of them even moved as much to take a phone or anything. And it also looked like neither of them was willing to move at all.
“Derpy!” Rumi called out, knowing the tiger was watching her for his master. The big cat popped up from a glowering blue hole in the ground. Usually Zoey would be all over him, cuddling and cooing, but now, she just watched him with a fond smile. Mira too watched the big cat, a soft smile playing on her lips.
“Here, take this cushion to Jinu. So he knows we’re here.” It was the little Turtle Zoey had left here purposely for videos they took when they met up for their public disguise. “Don’t forget to bring it back, though.” Rumi added, sending the tiger on his quest while he vanished again.
“That was the most lazy move I’ve ever seen you do… Do it again!” Mira chuckled, sliding a glance toward her lead-vocalist.
Rumi giggled. “Well… can’t be bothered, honestly.”
She sighed, looking around herself. The Honmoon used to be the strongest here around this complex, obviously. Now it seemed to have faded a bit, that their living points had moved. At the same time, it had strengthened near their homes. Rumi drew her brows together slightly. She didn’t like it, felt exposed. A Note hummed in her throat, before slowly, silently beginning to sing.
“We are hunters, voices strong.
Slaying demons with our song…”
Mira and Zoey looked at Rumi, then each other, finding themselves too into the harmony when they joined Rumi.
“Fix the world and make it right.
When darkness finally meets the light.”
A small pause between them, as the Honmoon rippled blue, reacting to it’s protectors harmonies.
“Through the shadows, we will fight.
Guided by those lines, so bright.
Side by side, we fight the night.
Standing strong, our souls unite.”
They paused again, feeling the energy around them charge. Rumi reached a hand toward the webbed, rainbow colored lines. Mira and Zoey did the same, webbing closer as their song came slowly to an end.
“Ancient whispers guide our way.
Through the veil, where shadows sway.
Oaths unbroken, spirits tall.
Guardians sworn, we heed the call.”
When they ended, Rumi felt better. She smiled at the buzzing lines of rainbow around her, humming still in her throat. Mira and Zoey too relaxed a bit to that peace.
“... if you’re going to get a girl, she’ll be a Hunter, won’t she?” Zoey asked her.
Rumi slowly, but surely, nodded. “Yes, she would be. An interesting one at that. What would she be… ¾ demon?” she chuckled lightly at that thought. What a twisted way for a hunter. But it would only make their Honmoon stronger. She wouldn’t let her child grow up being ashamed. She would let them grow up being proud of what they were and their heritage. Maybe there were some records, maybe, just maybe, once in time, demons and hunters were fighting side by side, like they did now. Rumi could imagine it - why shouldn’t it be like it? It wasn’t like the demons themselves would love Gwi-Ma.. well surely some, but the majority hated his guts. She couldn’t believe that the demons have never teamed up with the one force able to destroy Gwi-Ma: The Hunters.
Maybe she could sneak into Celine’s house some time and steal… err borrow some of the ancient scripts. She was sure, her husband, or one of the other, older demons could read them if she failed to decipher them.
“That was sick.” a voice called.
The three girls shrieked, hurling around with their weapons drawn in an instant.
“Baby?!” Zoey, cocked a brow.
He had held his hands up defensively, while Mira had her blade pressed against his neck.
“Jeez you absolute moron. I could’ve easily slit your throat.” she growled.
Baby huffed, lowering his eyebrows. “Yah I know. Could you take your humongous toothpick off my neck?”
Behind him was the rest of the guys, including a tightly asleep Jack. Mira sighed, lowering her weapon before letting it disappear beneath the still buzzing lines.
“What the.. frick are you doing here?” Rumi had to stop herself from swearing, watching the little boy being cradled by Romance for once. He had insisted and by the look of the bags under Abby’s eyes, Rumi could understand why.
“Being concerned. We felt a change in the Honmoon. Thought you were being attacked.” Romance shrugged. “We told Jinu and Abby to go by themselves, but they insisted that we’re being stronger between the eight of us.” He cocked a grin, while tilting his head to the side.
That was, when the girls realized - they were in their demon forms. Gone the humanity in them, golden eyes staring into them. Well all but Mystery’s thanks to the wall of hair in his face. Pale skins broken through writhing patterns along their bodies, claws, long, sleek and black instead of hands. They must’ve been really startled.
“Relax.” Mira began her way toward Romance to take her toddler off of him. She’d missed that bundle of joy terribly and kissed his head, once he was cradled into her. “The Honmoon used to be strongest around our headquarters… obviously.” she sighed. “It wasn’t anymore. Guess Rumi got unnerved by that, so we just strengthened it again.”
“Like we’ve done to our respective homes as well.” Zoey added, walking over to Mystery, her Shin-Kals gone.
Their eyes were on the purple haired half-demon, who was glowing like a christmas tree in rainbow lights while coming down from the high of their harmonies and the sneak attack of her boys. Jinu joined her, looking her over worriedly and resting a clawed palm on her stomach. “You alright?”
“I’m fine, now. Almost peed my pants a minute ago though.” she huffed a breath, straightening her back. She too let her Saingeom vanish. Jinu chuckled at her remark.
“Don’t ever, ever ever do that again, Jinu.” she warned him though. “Yes, Ma’am.” he answered, his lips in a thin line. “Sorry.”
The whole room relaxed a bit. Mira had joined Abby, cradling a hand against his cheek. “You look tired.” she raised a brow.
“Yeah, tell me about it. This little… assho… I mean, our wonderful son, has been a real handful today.” He huffed a breath at Mira’s chuckle.
“Don’t we know that already, mh” she cracked a grin, stroking over the back of the toddler when she took her hand back off Abby’s cheek. She could imagine it, brightly. Jack being his absolute self and giving his Dad a good run for his money. He’d probably kept all the boys on their toes with his antics. She gave him a knowing wink, bumping her hip into his muscled side. That earned her an exhausted, but earnest chuckle.
While the mood seemed to lighten, a purple ripple went through the Honmoon. The girls snapped their heads up, Zoey and Mira drawing in on Rumi.
“Where?” Mira snapped.
Rumi reached out for a moment, closing her eyes to concentrate. She flew them open, panicked. “HERE!”
She swirled around, summoning her Saingeom and went to attack head on the oncoming threat. Until she wasn’t. Jinu had grabbed her wrist and yanked her back towards the others. No way he would let her fight. Not now. Not when she was carrying something so precious. “Get back and protect Jack.” he yelled at her.
Rumi was flabbergasted, but obeyed all the same. Mira had shoved her child into Rumi’s arms already, Gok-Do swinging over her head to join Jinu slaughter the incoming horde of faceless demons. Damn, they were a whole lot this time. “This is not your time, lilac. Stay back, protect those kids.” she barked at her.
Abby was with his woman in an instant, claws ripping out throats and tearing into flesh. Zoey joined, her maniac grin plastered all over her face. Out of all of them she probably was the scariest one. Mystery was by her side, standing back to back with her, tearing into one demon after another.
“Ro, stay with Rumi and Kwan. Shield them.” Abby barked, still second in command. Didn’t matter if it was the Saja Boys on the stage or, well, them tearing through a horde of demons.
The pink haired demon nodded once, bringing Rumi back against a wall and himself in front of her. “If you must and I say it, run, Ru. Run for your life and theirs.” He pointed to the little boy slowly stirring by all the commotion and her stomach.
Rumi blinked back tears and nodded, dumbfoundedly. Damn these hormones. She asked herself if Mira was feeling the same helplessness while she watched from the sides as she was carrying her son. Oh, she must’ve been so pissed, like slaying demons was her whole life purpose at this point in time.
Baby was having a field day, a similar manic smirk on his face as Zoey’s grin. Out of all of the boys, he was surely the most cruel one. Even if he didn’t look like it. But they all knew he was a massive asshole beneath his on stage persona. They loved him for his bluntness and well… ability to fight. He tore into their attackers not only with claws, but teeth as well, seemingly enjoying ripping them to shreds with his mouth. He was teamed up with Jinu, having his back since Rumi was out of order for the time being.
“Sing!” Jinu bellowed, since it seemed that the tear in the Honmoon seemed so big it couldn’t be sealed any other way.
Three pair of eyes shot towards him, puzzled. Abby reached over Mira to grab the incoming demon at it’s throat and slam it to the ground before it could attack her. “Sing, hunters. NOW!” he too barked, gone his soft voice, laced with his demon in him. Oh, he was pissed. And scared. And fucking tired. Mira could tell, he barely used the rumbling echoing when he was around her.
The three hunters looked at each other, nodding once and pitched up their harmonies. Singing an ancient song, almost forgotten, the words lying deep beneath them, buried in their souls. And so they sang. The first song. The song the first hunters sang 400 years ago. It was one of their strongest harmonies, they knew that. Mira and Zoey still were swinging their weapons, slaying one demon after another while holding their tune. The Honmoon closed slowly.
“Appa… Eomma…” oh no. Rumi’s eyes snapped toward little Jack, two amber orbs glowing back up to her, afraid, scared. Shivering. She pressed him tighter to her chest, engulfing him in her voice and warmth. She couldn’t break the song, couldn’t break their harmony or the effort was for nothing, but she wanted to assure the little boy all the same.
“Got’ him.” It was Mystery coming up to her side, taking the boy and mumbling soft words into his ear. He had cradled him close to himself, Jack slowly relaxing into Mystery, though he clutched on him tightly while his little eyes were glued to his parents tearing through… Monsters. Monsters that were real. Monsters that had the same patterns as his Dad and himself. As his Auntie Rumie and his Uncles. He shivered in Mystery’s arms, the demon having to put up a lot of strength, to at least glamour down the whole demon. Only patterns still showing in his skin.
But the huntresses voices, Mystery’s warm touch, soothing voice and familiar smell calmed him down eventually. And, out of fear, he closed his eyes.
When the last demon was going into a puff of pink smoke from Zoey’s final Shin-Kal, all of them stood, heaving breaths and looking around. The Honmoon had closed, but that was the biggest tear in 5 years. Rumi still hummed the note as to ensure the Honmoon would stay closed, but she looked panicked nonetheless. What the fuck was that?
“No idea, but it was crazy.” Baby answered between heavy breaths, his hands on his knees, buckled over a bit. Oh, she must’ve said it out loud.
“Why now…?” Zoey gasped, trying to find her composure back. It had fucked off with her last Shin-Kal, she assumed.
“I don’t know, but I’m going to find out.” Jinu answered, equally put through the meatgrinder, but he forced himself toward his wife to check her over. Rumi looked absolutely startled, eyes big, her left one flicking golden.
“You’re okay, Rumi. It’s alright, love. We’re safe.” Jinu hummed when he pulled her into a hug, holding her close until he felt her relax in his embrace.
Abby and Mira both crashed into Mystery, well almost, Abby grabbing his little one from him. Mira laid a hand on Mystery’s arm, sighing. “Thank you Myst. We owe you, big time.”
“No you don’t, we’re a family, right?” Yes, Enigma. She just didn’t get him. She only nodded at him before turning her attention to her two boys. “Jack, are you okay, baby?” She asked, brushing his little bangs out of his eyes. Teary eyes. Shocked ones. LIke he couldn’t believe what he witnessed.
“Monsters are real, Daddy.” he breathed, clutching tighter into his fathers chest, whimpering. Abby sighed, looking at Mira. “Yes. Yes, they are. But we’re all here to protect you. Always.” he tried assuring his son, breathing a long breath while slowly calming down.
Well, that was unexpected… and they sure needed to find the reason.
Things seemed peaceful, and harmonizing… falling into place. So why now? Why this huge tear? What happened, that it would cause such a ripple.
Jinu was determined to find out, he knew where to look for answers as well. Even if he didn’t like the thought.
He needed to talk to Celine.
Notes:
That's all for today, gotta join my little ones sleeping :)
Well, are you as excited as me to find out, what they will find out? Because as of now, I have no idea. I'm writing as ideas flow, not having found my red string through the story yet. Little experimental, but I guess it works for me so far.
My autocorrect kept autocorrecting Honmoon into Honeymoon - so if you find one, I've overseen, well, then its now honeymoon instead of honmoon.
Hope, you like it - Updating soon as I can - comments and Kudos appreciated! <3
Chapter 5: Okay, I show you wild
Summary:
The tension in the room tightened, all eyes on the couple in front of them. Mira had her arms crossed, towering over a scowling Abby on the couch. He was stubborn. As she was. She knew that, having had her one on one with him more than once. She knew it was him, showing his concern for her. Knew, he just tried to protect her. It triggered a memory.

Chapter Text
Huntrix and the Saja Boys had found their way to ~couch~ soon after the attack, all still riding the high of the fight. They were strewn over in various states.
Zoey was sitting on Mystery’s lap on the floor, her small arms wrapped tightly around the demon's neck. He absentmindedly stroked her back, to calm down himself or her.. well he wasn’t sure at all.
Baby was beside them, leaned back on his hands. He’d had to clean himself up first, his mouth having been bloodsmeared and whatnot from his onslaught.
Mira sat wedged between Abby and Romance, both their warmth comforting her while she rocked her still whimpering son on her lap. Abby had her leaning against his side, his fingers entangled in her hair, staring at the floor. Romance had his hand on the back of the little boy, moving reassuring circles into it. He had been the closest friend to both, Abby and Mira, becoming a pretty important part of their lives.
Jinu and Rumi sat across from the four, Rumi tightly squeezing around Jinu’s middle, almost giving him no room to breathe. Her eyes were still slightly widened, thousands thoughts reflecting on her face. Jinu was silently brooding, his palm resting against Rumi’s lower belly.
“..that shouldn’t have happened.” Zoey began, looking up from her stupor. “We’ve strengthened the Honmoon right here. Right before the attack..” the last words were coming in a tone not more than a whisper.
All eyes turned to her. She could feel their gazes on her back. “It shouldn’t, but it did.” Mystery began, musing, “Something must have disrupted the barrier greatly, if it could not withstand right after being strengthened.” His face was unreadable, even if Zoey had brushed the hair out of his eyes. He had looked up at her, one eye a deep chocolate-brown, the blue one pale, almost as if being blind, focusing in and out.
“We need to find out what could’ve disrupted it, quickly. That was some huge tear, and one I haven’t seen..” Mira began, looking at Rumi before continuing with her brows drawn together, “..since that day we’ve fought on the train.” She meant the fighting in more than one way, having fought with Rumi while slaying those demons.
Rumi winced slightly, looking up at Mira. It wasn’t a pleasant memory, for neither of them. The day before the Idol Awards, the day before everything was on the brink of blazing up in a magenta fire.
“..why did you sing the song?” Abby asked, turning to Mira first, before looking at Rumi as she nodded her chin towards her leader. “I mean, before the attack.” he added.
“Rumi?” Jinu asked her, since all eyes were on her.
She blinked back tears, not looking up.
“I don’t know. I felt… felt exposed. Felt unsafe, here nonetheless.” The snort she produced was without humour. “I had the strong desire to sing, to strengthen it, to see its webbing and touch it closer to me.. to us.” she continued. She couldn’t pinpoint it. It had been like a panic attack rising within her and she had felt, the only way to snub that out in its beginnings was to sing and harmonise the Honmoon.
“Who knows how bad it would have been, if we didn’t sing beforehand.” She finally concluded, looking up at the others. Her face was unreadable, her eyes unfocused.
A synchronized sigh went through the group.
“Well, we will figure it out. There needs to be some explanation..” Jinu began, being interrupted by Mira.
“And where are we going to find it? I’ll assume that, if that has happened before, it’s written down, but we have no access.” She shot him a glare, huffing. “At least we don’t anymore.” It was frustrated at best, but Mira couldn’t help herself. She too resented Celine for everything that came to light after the Idol Awards. She wasn’t even sure if she could contain her fury, if she would ever lay eyes on that woman again. Even though she was their mentor, that woman had serious characteristic problems. Even bigger than her own.
Abby had looked up at her, pressing a kiss to the side of her head as if he could feel the anger and frustration oozing off of her. It was a rare sight, they all knew. Mira hated to be touchy feely in front of the lot, but leaned into him with her eyes closed anyway. So it had to be serious, if she wasn’t trying to pry his ass off of her.
“Then we make access, Mira.” Jinu started, looking at the magenta haired, scowling woman. “I have my ways.”
“She’ll kill you on sight, forget it.” Zoey spat, a rather unamused laugh at herself.
Rumi looked up at her husband, nodding. “She hates your guts. I guess worse than she hates Gwi-Ma.. or my father.” A sigh left her lips. “You wouldn’t be able to say a syllable before she’d had your head in her hands.”
“Then he won’t be going alone.” Romance nodded, earning looks. “What? Going alone is a suicide mission. He needs to be accompanied by a hunter. Best, one who is able to use the Honmoon to her will.” He shrugged a little.
Rumi shot him a glare. They were all able to use the Honmoon to their will more or less. While she had total control of it, Zoey could use it to web it tighter, locate enemies and summon her weapons. Mira could almost use it the way Rumi did, the Honmoon bending almost as entirely to her will than her own. Rumi blinked, it dawned on her.
“Mira…” she breathed, looking at her choreographer.
“Oh hell no!” Mira threw her hands up, drawing her brows together. The motion made Jack almost tumble off her lap, being caught by Romance, who cradled the now sleeping boy close to himself. “Not even in a million years.” she added, jumping up now that her lap was empty to cross her arms and start pacing the room.
Abby blinked surprised, watching her move as she seemed to get more pissed off by the second.
“Mira.. please. I.. I can’t go. She would kill me, too. Bearing his child. You know that. You know what she did to my Mom.” Rumi was watching her friend, her brows drawn up in a plea. She hated to think about this part, tried to push it down as deep as she could. But it was the truth. Celine had killed Mi-yeong. Rumi didn’t know if she did it on purpose or accidentally, not that she would care either. Both were bad.
Mira growled frustrated. She knew that. Too well. “What about Zoey?” she motioned to their maknae.
“What, me?” Zoey giggled unamused, shaking her head. “You know I cannot bend the Honmoon like you or Rumi. I’m not even as strong as both of you.” she trailed off at the end. She’d love to jump the train, really, but she also knew it would be a suicide mission for herself.
Mira knew that, too. She huffed frustrated, her fists clenching so hard that she dug the well manicured nails deep into her own flesh, feeling the draw of blood trickling down her palms. Abby watched her closely, brows drawing together when he noticed her bleeding. He wanted to wrap her up in a hug, but her expression told him better. She didn’t want to be touched right now, or she’d explode.
Instead, he heard himself speak.
“You’re second in command, Mira. If it can’t be Rumi, it needs to be you.” he slowly began, avoiding her death stare. He knew she could handle Celine her ass back singlehandedly. He knew her strength and the way she was able to manipulate the Hoonmoon to her will. He’d seen it countless times. When she was webbing the Honmoon around their sons crib, tighter around their home. The way it lit up, reacting to her voice when she was singing. The way she could send a burst of energy through it with her Gok-Do. The only one having more control was Rumi. Their leader.
“Arrrghhhh.” Mira was so frustrated, her eyes closing tightly shut. She knew they were right. All of them. And she hated it.
“I will go too.” Baby began, smirking up at Mira, “I’d ~loooove~ to see that fucking ex-hunter try to attack either of you. She’d meet her Creator sooner than later. Just alone for that arrogance she’s throwing around.” A deep, menacing chuckle accompanied his words. He’d had his encounters with Celine, when she still was a hunter herself. He’d been around a century longer than Jinu and hated that woman with a passion. Hunters in general weren’t in his favor, but he had a mission to kill this one before and their encounter wasn’t exactly pleasant for either of them. He’d still had an open bill with her.
“So, I guess it is set.” Jinu began. “I will go to her, Mira and Baby come along.”
“I’m going too.” Abby said, earning a shook of head from Mira.
“No, you’ll stay.” - ‘“But.. I won’t let you go alone into the lioness dent!” he shot back.
“And what about Jack? If something happens to me..” Mira elaborated, “..he needs you. We can’t both be throwing ourselves into a suicide mission, Abby.” She was stern, her tone didn’t leave room for discussion at all.
Abby growled lowly, he knew she was right. It didn’t sit well with him anyway. “So you know what’s coming. You do as well as I do. And I should just sit here, watching you going on to kill yourself and be fine with it?” he spat.
The night was silent, dark shadows dancing around the both of them. They’d been occupied in, what Mira later would call, “life-altering” activities, cuddled up, naked bodies relaxing in each other's embraces. She could feel a small kick in her stomach, her hand automatically wandering over it to hush the squirming inside. She’d been far along, eight months, only a couple more weeks to go before they would be welcoming their baby. And she had finally given in to her feelings, risking it by trying to build a relationship with the man she was sure she loved. Not that she had ever said that out loud. Before her giving in, she’d been fine co-parenting with the big man that was Abby. But the way he treated her, the way he understood her had triggered something deep inside, she thought she had buried forever.
She felt a warm hand cupping her own on her rounded belly. A sigh followed. Here in the dark of the night, they both felt comfortable sharing secret whispers. “Y’know, I never thought I’d find myself in this kind of situation. Let alone with a hunter herself.” A low chuckle accompanied the sentence. Mira huffed a laugh. Neither did she. A silence stretched, charging up though. Something unspoken lay between them.
“I love you, Mira. I do. And I love our child. More than I want to admit. More than I thought I was capable of…” Abby breathed a long breath. “..it hurts sometimes, it’s so much. And I’m afraid of losing all of it. I sure as hell don’t deserve it.” An unamused snort of him. Welp, now it wasn’t unspoken anymore. Mira had felt her cheeks burn with heat, she sure was red as a tomato. Thank god it was so dark. She sighed, leaning into him.
“Same, you big idiot. Same..” she replied.
Mira couldn’t help herself when she crashed onto her partner, tightening her arms around his neck when she pressed a deep kiss onto his lips. He was startled, not having expected her to react that way. He thought she'd chew him a new one, maybe even ripping his head off. His, in surprise, thrown up hands drew her closer by her waist while encircling her slender frame, returning her kiss with the same desire she was putting into it. And this all in front of everyone. Like, that had never happened before. Like ever. He was lucky to get as much as a brush of hair out of her when they were in company. Except maybe with Romance. She seemed more relaxed when it was just him being with them.
Nobody even dared to breathe in that moment, knowing what could follow was nasty if they dared a tease. Eyes averted the couple, silence deep.
“You stay with the rest. I will go. You keep Kwan safe, I will keep Jinu safe. Understood?” Mira breathed when she pulled away from Abby, forehead resting against his, her arms still around his neck. Abby looked at her dumbfounded, a small hue of pink on his cheeks. He only nodded. There was really no room for discussion now. “Good.”
She pulled away from him, sitting down beside him again while taking her son of a very silent Romance.
Jinu cleared his throat. “Well.. yes. So, I suggest we crash here tonight and start in the morning. Everyone should get rest, we need it.” He’d rather have they all stay close nearby, just in case.
With that, everyone seemed to get up, the room rustling quietly.
“I’ll get you some sheets and pillows. You can settle here, if you want to.” Rumi said to Baby and Romance, knowing their respective partners would crash with the girls in their old rooms. She wandered off to do that, Zoey on her heels to help her.
Mira silently got up, walking towards her old bedroom. When she realized she was alone, she turned around. “You coming, or do I need to haul your ass into bed myself?” She asked, a brow raising up at Abby still sitting dumbfoundedly on the couch.
“Uhh yes.. I mean no..” he began, though a grin crept up his face. “Though the thought sounds nice. I love you handling my ass.” He winked at her huff, couldn’t help himself. He followed her off anyway.
“Well, good night then, everyone. Try to find sleep.” Rumi sighed, watching the pink haired chaos family vanish down the hall, ending the night.
The morning would come quicker than they’d want and with a mission, that was both - important and self destructive. To say she was nervous was an understatement.
She was afraid. Deeply.
Notes:
If you haven't figured out, I hate Celine with a passion. Sure, she had her reasons.. doesn't mean they were good at all.
After all, I'm a Mom by myself and the thought of some caregiver treating my babies this way... ugh. However, have a new chapter ~
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.Comments and Kudos are appreciated <3
