once more to see you (can’t catch me now)

Summary:

Clementine Snow knows her place.

She is the President’s Granddaughter, both with a silver spoon in her mouth, everything handed to her at her demand.

Lie.

What is a lie?

What does it mean to lie?

A lie may just be an untrue statement, but it takes much more to lie. Guts. More guts to keep a lie going for years and years. Something that grows and spreads like bacteria. What kind of man do you have to be to lie?

And how naive do you have to be to believe it?

Clementine Vienna Snow was born October 31st, 2253. Daughter to Vienna and Crassus Snow. Vienna died due to childbirth, Crassus died to sickness a few years later. After that, she was appointed a maid to care for her, by the name of Hetty. Clementine lived in a big mansion, centre of the Capitol, with her Grandfather, the President, her cousin, and uncle and auntie.

And of course, Clementine was the sweetheart of the Capitol. The Golden Girl. The one everyone wanted. Desired.

And she would stay desirable. For the people. Even as it tormented her, fuelling her nightmares, driving its bitter knife into her chest, killing her slowly, she knew she had to live up to a certain standard. She wouldn’t disappoint. Everything has a punishment.

But something changes her point of view on things.

Or, for a more fitting word: someone.
