The Character Summaries

Summary:

all of my ocs!!!! this was definitely not a Tumblr post :P

Notes:

Typically wouldn't post this, but I don't typically write this much so figured why not. Pre-emptively creating a series for the Dittoverse also, in case I write more

Chapter 1: ehhhh

Chapter Text

hello person who is extremely anonymous and wholly unknown to my Regular Mortal experience!!!!! this is a most wonderful request and I will gladly take it :]

Alto Claymore is an extremely sarcastic crossdresser with the fashion of anyone pre-50s, favouring the Renaissance and sweater vests. They're honestly a mess, but that got xem and xer adoptive sibling and first true friend Lottie out of their group home. They met Torro in "a ditch" (Alto) and the two do varying degrees of acts with dubious legality, rejecting the idea that the law will take care of all the problems; this was only the very first step in their journey, fueled by anger and met with a raised eyebrow and suggestion by Lottie in the morning. Alto primarily does this with the power of their blessing, which granted xem mental blueprints, strategy and a generally accelerated mind when they consume straight lime. They're straight-forward, snarky and only truly "soft" around Lottie and xer adoptive aunt figure, Warren, who found them as a kid and helped xem out of their ditch despite resistance. Their relationship with Tsuki is strictly business, and they only meet as Limeade and Lune.
A fun fact about Alto, the're the first of my lasting ocs to have more than a design (a close second to Viola), and used to be part lime-alien! That last bit is no longer true, meaning I'll need to update my references.

Torro Starkov is part moth and part vine. He only wears t-shirts, and while no one can say he's met Tek, no one can say he hasn't and those are some punny shirts. He's never taken anything seriously (aside from when someone's life is on the line) and those vines of his are stored in a mental library more extensive than his limited memories of childhood. He's a pessimistic a**hole yet always has kind words to say for those who need it; that duality is somewhat admired by Alto. His blessing gave him the wings and antenna of a cecropia moth, and the only reason he hasn't bled out pathetically in an alleyway is Alto, the Jive twins and Soleil. Chris just gets him, the way no one else does, and Warren is always a comforting presence and an open door after a long day. Soleil is in the exact situation Torro found himself in years ago, and despite his lonelier conditions he continues to take care of the younger boy.

Warren Jive is an immortal 35-year-old who serves as a parental figure and intelligence to more than have the city's less than legal individuals. She owns a cafe called A Drip in Thyme, which she uses to keep an eye on all their self-appointed charges; Alto, Torro, her brother Chris, Raz and Aster are frequent patrons, some often only there to visit their favorite and only employee, Barrie. They're always a little more knowledgeable than they should be, a tad more maternal than they have the right, and have grey hair that is dubiously labeled as dyed. They don't blame Chris for what happened at Matty's lab; how could they? She's always been aware of the fact that Sybil wasn't the first to pay for curiosity. Those weren't blessings, not yet, but hers allows foresight 20 seconds in the future and the shackles of living forever.
A fun fact about Warren is their origins as a vaguely Minecraft warden inspired traveler in caves. they've come a long way since then.

Chris Jive is an immortal 35-year-old who truly doesn't care enough. His sister may have stolen some of his empathy in the womb, because he sometimes physically can't bring himself above apathy. He's rather bendy compared to the typically formal Jive fashion, and enjoys gymnastics. Torro sees him as an older brother, and he serves that role with a slight, out of place intensity. The undeveloped blessing Chris encountered allows him to time travel; he can go anywhere besides within five years of the present. Warren may not blame him for the series of events at the lab, but he knows what happened.
A fun fact about Chris is that he only exists because I decided to give some practice poses an appearance.

Willow Talingale is a somber tragedy of a 23-year-old, who’s body is in a bog. Caleb's at fault for her fate, and he's plenty blamed. Unlike the others, her blessing found a dead body and gave it life. Weeping Willow is always crying, and her anger-revenge-vengeance side makes her a well-known danger in the city and town. Blinded by her motivations, she met her second fate at the hands of Virtue. This only left the sorrowful tears of the side that mourns the other victims.

Barrie Loke is a funky cafe worker, Warren's favorite and only employee who has their hair half-dyed. They're laid back, have a good sense of humor and don't want you to look beneath the surface. They received a blessing, but haven't quite figured out what they can do now. They've speculated on the topic with Raz and Aster, who've been varying degrees of help. The three enjoy arcade nights and writing fanfiction about the various supers in their city.

Raz Valor is a polyamorous plaid-lover with no blessing and a lot of thoughts. They’re part of two polycules, both with online lovers they’ve known for years (and have, in fact, met before, thank you). When visiting Barrie with Aster, he’s typically the one who ends up writing the fanfiction while the other two spitball ideas. She adores boba, and continuously lightly bugs Warren about adding it to the cafe menu (they’re trying to get the recipe right, and playing difficult in the meantime). Their world is rather small, having cut contact with her parents a while ago, but she fills it with gardens and the library, where he’s formed a quiet peace with Alto.

Aster Polix is a spitfire, not built for the calm environments their friends enjoy. They enjoy movie nights with their roommates, Soleil and Akari, and as the three find their blessings they form both a trio of heroes and a polycule. Aster’s blessing gave them little lights, appreciated by children, and the speed that later allowed their sudden kills. The glory of being known as a hero was quickly overshadowed by corruption, and Aster decided to tackle the problem of those in charge. As an assassin, they don’t have a name, but the media dubbed them Sterile for their clean and effective methodology. They don’t claim to be a hero, aren’t proud of their actions, but fully believe those actions are necessary and carry on even after Soleil thinks they’ve gone too far and leaves the darker two.

Soleil Norna, speaking of, is a rather kind person for his sturdy build. He doesn’t have many people outside of his partners Aster and Akari, so when he clocks out his life is that much smaller. This causes him to form a friendship with Torro, who wants to know why he’s getting so many older brother figures. The two do some vigilante work together, and Soleil keeps his brother safe with the strength daylight and his blessing bring him. He doesn’t often miss the days when he was a ‘hero’, but the online tip jar they were encouraged to set up would have paid the hospital bills for some of Torro’s injuries.

Akari Tsuki is a trans woman with her life meticulously scheduled. This quirk of hers was much appreciated by her partners Aster and Soleil, and was often the reason anything got done between the three of them. She often worked as Lune with Limeade; they don’t agree with her ideals or choices, but they’re both villains with the same goals. During her occasional travels outside of the city, she works with the town’s locals Firefly and the Distortion (D is that fine) who don’t know of some of her darker deeds and her relationship with an assassin. She does not miss the hero days and her masculine costume, but sometimes wishes for it in hopes that it would bring Soleil back to her. She missed him, but didn’t have much time alone with Aster; the alleys of the city aren’t typically kind to a well-dressed woman, and Aster’s partner never came home one night.

That marks the end of the Dittoverse! Our lovely anon’s own ocs are highly interconnected with these, and I’m sure @dolly-is-cool (who is angel_is_dead on ao3) (who is not at all related to this ask) would love to be bothered and asked about the blessings and worldbuilding. She’s done her own yap, if you’d like to hear about ocs not elaborated upon. Moving on, these next few ocs are not tied to that universe.

Stolin Wicker is a bog body with no leg. He used to play his viola in an old arcade for an audience of ghosts, until they decided to use a bog as a shortcut. An interaction with an old wire snare left him hopping to civilization with a time limit that ran out.
A fun fact about Stolin is that most of his lore is based in a tumblr roleplay! They were created based off the song The Bog Bodies by Rabbitology for that roleplay. (If you’re curious, the roleplay is based off of Malevolent; the Waylay is a sort of limbo that many people have brought their characters to.)

Papaya doesn’t know who they are, nor the identities of the voices in their head. They don’t know how they died, but can only assume it has something to do with the arcade machine with organs that they can’t stray from. They didn’t appreciate the masked individual that came to the arcade one night to break it, but they do like Stolin. They’ve got a somewhat parasocial relationship with the boy that plays in their arcade; they adore the music, yet don’t know his name, though that’s admittedly better than the fact that he doesn't know they exist.
A fun fact about Papaya is that they’re based off of the song Cabinet Man by Lemon Demon and also eventually end up in the Waylay. Yet another fun fact is that they’re a FNAF oc, though they’re only loosely tied to Fazbear Entertainment.

Paper is a wingless fairy with paper taped to her back instead. She controls the wings with string attached to their corners when gliding, and can replace the paper if it gets damaged. She admittedly doesn’t have complex lore, but she’s fun to draw! She’s extremely sarcastic, and very bitter when conversing with the other fairies.

The twins don’t have much lore yet, but I plan to give them ties to the Dittoverse and they may or may not become “proper” ocs. They visit A Drip In Time regularly, having whoever’s at the counter guess which one came this time. Barrie and Warren notice that only one has come for a while, and the next time the other visits, they don’t need to guess because that’s a nasty scar.

Em doesn’t have much solid lore, often getting inserted into various popular media, but they’re very dear to my heart and have been my main sona for a while. They’re a chaotic, teen-shaped bee hybrid sometimes spotted at the arcade Barrie, Raz and Aster frequent, and they enjoy drawing and fanfiction.

Viola doesn’t have much of a story anymore, as I’ve admittedly forgotten their original lore, but they’re a worthy mention as they used to plague all of my daydreams and imaginary scenarios. They’re somewhat of a dystopian protagonist, but not really. They’ve got one mechanical cat ear, one organic eye and a tail they have to plug in to crappy outlets to charge their cyborg parts. Their story has slowly changed to resemble the one currently frequenting my head.

Cinder has plenty of lore, but being my Minecraft skin, explaining it would likely require a separate post so I could also explain what the minecraft universe shapes up to be in my head, and that would surely lead to talking about how my favorite smps tie into it all.

Finally, I am a fiction podcaster. This obviously leads to having ocs, but considering Station 404 is made with Dolly and various others, the only character from the podcast I truly consider my oc is the character I voice, Troy Undergrove. He wears sweater vests and has a conspiracy board, and is a co-host for Somewhere’s radio show. I also have a solo podcast project I’d love to yap about, but I’ve only written two scripts thus far and recorded one, so any yapping would have spoilers.

WHOOO okay that was a lot, than you mysterious unknown anon for inviting me to yap this was fun and I want to do it more because I probably could’ve written more about a lot of the Dittoverse characters
