Chapter Text
Peter knew he shouldn't have been breaking into Oscorp but he's been hearing some talk that they're planning something big.
So that's why he's now in Oscorp and so far there hasn't been anything that has caught his attention.
As Peter walks through the maze of hallways he eventually comes across a door that says authorized access only Peter had a feeling that's where he would find something suspicious. He tries to see if there's any noise that would indicate someone's in there but Peter has a feeling the walls are really thick and probably sound proof because he can't hear any noise in the building.
He slowly opens the door and it's filled with different desks. It's probably some kind of laboratory Peter walks up to the closet one.
The first desk didn't have anything that interesting; the 2 and 3 desks showed the same result. The first 2 drawers didn't have anything interesting but the third had a file labeled as spider DNA test 2 he opened it and began reading it as he was skimming through the file his eyes caught something.
His name was on this file. That wasn't good, as he read more. It keeps getting worse.it looks like they're using his DNA to do some kind of experiment. He reads more but this file is clearly not complete because it's missing a lot of stuff but he still knows what they're doing. They are using his DNA to try and recreate the spider that bit him. By the looks of these reports it doesn't look to be going to good. It looks like they've used it a few times already none of them seemed to have worked.
Peter sighed in relief as he went to put the file down but there is a piece of paper at the bottom of the drawer he grabs it. the top says experiment 38 he skimmed the paper at the bottom it says completed.
Well shit.
He looks at the paper to see if he can find out more about it and it says it's in laboratory 4 he drops the paper and runs out the door. Peter checks multiple places but eventually finds lab 4.Before opening the door he looks around to make sure no one is coming first.
Peter opens the door and shuts it behind him. The lights are off and he slowly feels around for a light switch he finds it and turns the light on and turns around. What he sees causes him to stop dead in his tracks because in the middle of the room there is a glass cell and there's something no not something someone.
It's a kid that looks to be around 4 or 5 years old, maybe even younger with how small she looked. She was wearing one of those hospital gowns She was on the ground breathing so slowly that Peter was worried she would stop at any moment. He had to get her out of here without scaring her but he didn't know what to do with her afterwards.
So instead he needs to open the door first then figure out the rest he scans the room looking for something that would be of use his eyes land on a keypad next to the door. He walks over to it and takes off the screen and starts trying to get the door open. In a few seconds he hears a sound and the door opens “yes” Peter whispered. He then stepped inside the cell.
The child obviously heard it because she jumped up and backed up to the wall. She looked so scared. Peter felt his heart break a bit at that. He then lowered himself a bit to not look as scary to her.
“It's okay, I'm here to help, my name is Peter, look-”Peter takes his mask off ”I'm a normal human just like you there's nothing to be afraid of I promise.”
She looked confused as she tilted her head. “Can you speak?” Peter really hoped she could. She hesitantly nodded her head.
“Okay that's good, do you have a name? "She shook her head. “n-no "Peter decided he was going to beat the shit out of whoever did this. ”It's okay, that just means we'll have to come up with a name for you once we get out of here.” “you're going to get me out of here?” She said with so much hope but had an underlying suspicion. “Yes. ”But then they will hurt me.”” They won't, I promise.” She looked like she still didn't trust him. He was about to try and reassure her but he started to hear footsteps.
He looked towards the direction they were coming from. "Shit.” He turned back towards her. "Look, I know you don't trust me but we need to leave now." The footsteps are coming closer so he can hear their voices.
“-was an alarm that was triggered in one of the labs.”
“and you promise you won't hurt me.” “I would never ever hurt a child.” “Okay I'll go with you.” "Good."
Peter stood back up, turned around and bent down again. "Now I'm going to carry you on my back."She puts her arms around Peter's neck “okay now hold on tight okay?.” She nods. Peter walks to the door and opens it, peaks his head out and he can tell they are coming from the right so he goes left.Peter can feel the kid trembling.
He heads to the stairwell and starts heading up. He would climb the walls but he's concerned she will fall. He eventually finds the right floor that he first entered though he is about to head in that direction when he hears it the heart beat he could never forget.
Norman Osborn.
“Peter, I know you're there just come out.”
He quickly heads into the room closet and hides behind a desk.
”Peter, come out and play.”
Peter tries to stop his heart from beating out of his chest. He looks down at the kid. "Okay I know what we should do but it's a little scary is that okay.”
the kid nods hesitantly." “Okay you have to hold onto my back really tight. Okay?"
“Okay.”
Peter really didn't want to climb down the building but there's no way there getting past Norman Peter goes to the window and opens it. the kid holds on tighter. Peter then jumps out the window and he gets away from Oscorp and stops on a building and he puts the kid down." are you okay?”
”That was so…cool!!.”
”Really?”
”yes!”
Okay now that Peter had rescued her he doesn't really know what to do now because he can't leave her to the cops because oscorp could learn and take her back and he can't take care of her because he doesn't have the money.
If only he had as much money as Oscorp. Wait a minute, Oscorp has so much money and is evil so would it be so bad to take some money from them. Ok now Peter just has to figure out how to do that but for now he just needs to get the kid home first.
The kid looks at him with a look of awe “are you a superhero?” Peter chuckles “yes I am.”
“Omg! That's so cool!”
Peter picks the kid back up.
“I'm going to take care of you now. Is that okay?” She nods quickly. Peter and the kid eventually made it back to his apartment rooftop. “Okay I need to change out of my suit so can you quickly turn around.”
“Why do you need to do that?”
“It's so no one knows who I am.”
“Oh okay” she turns around Peter as quickly as he can change and when he's done “I'm done, legs go inside now. ”Peter leads her into the building and the stairs until they reach his apartment.
“Is this your home?”
“Yup, it's your home now too?” “Really you won't leave me alone?" She he says and her voice has so much sadness that Peter decided he will never let anyone hurt her ever.
“Of course, I wouldn't lie about that. The kids eyes begin to water “Oh I didn't mean to mak-”Peter is cut off as the kid hugs him Peter is shocked For a second before hugging back
“Thank you.” She whispers. They stay there a few moments before Peter says. ”we should probably go inside now” The kid is quiet for a few seconds before saying “okay” Peter stands up and takes out his key and unlocks the door and steps inside but notices the kid doesn't follow.
“Kid look I know you probably don't trust me and that's understandable but I promise you can trust me.” Peter says softly She still doesn't look entirely sure but she still hesitantly walks though the door. “Do you want a tour?” Peter is going to try and always ask the kid if she wants to do something just to make sure she knows it's okay to voice her opinion.
She nods so Peter gives her the tour. It's not a very big tour but he can tell the kid didn't mind. Now that the tour is over he needs to figure out what to do. That means he is only 18 so he doesn't really know how to take care of kids. He really needs an actual adult and he thinks he knows who to call.
10 minutes later and he's on the phone with Matt Murdock. After the whole multiverse situation he got really close with him. “So let me get this right, you broke into Oscorp, found a kid and then took her and decided to keep her?” Peter now kind of regrets coming to Matt first.
“They were experimenting on her. What did you expect me to do?”
“Not to kidnap a random kid Peter!”
“Look Matt, if I am able to find her parents and I knew they were good then I will give her back to her parents but for now she's staying with me.”
“Matt, all I need is some clothes for her. I would get them but I cant leave her and I cant really take her with me.” He can hear Matt sigh “okay, fine.”
“Thank you Matt.” hangs up and looks back at the kid and she yawns for probably the 50th time “are you tired?” She nods “do you want to go to sleep?” She nodded again.
“Okay. Let me go get a pillow and blanket.’”
“Who was that?”
“That was my friend, he is going to get you new clothes.”
She perks up at that. ”really?” “Yup! I know you're excited but you need to get some sleep.” She looks sad when he says that but still lays down and about 5 minutes later she's asleep.
30 minutes later and there's a knock on the door. Peter goes and answers it. ”hello Matt’
"Hi Peter. Where's the kid?"
“She is in the living room but she's sleeping right now.” Matt walks past him and goes into the living room. She's still asleep. Matt gives him a look. “Peter you can't keep her. ”Peter knew he would say that.
“I can't leave her either. Oscorp is probably looking for her and I promised I would protect her.”
“What if she has parents that are looking for her. ”Peter had kind of forgotten that there was a chance that she could have parents.
“One you don't know if she does and two what if the reason she was there was because of her parents they could be horrible people Matt. ”Matt is still giving him the loom that says that he doesn't agree with him. ”fine ill see if she has parents but if i find out there horrible I'm not giving het to them."
Matt sighs in relief that he got Peter to agree with him. It's quiet for a few seconds before Peter says “could you maybe help with finding her parents” Matt grins.”Sure. Also here are clothes you asked for.”
“You are a life saver Matt”” I know and if you need anything call me.” Matt leaves. Peter sits down on the couch and looks at the kid he should probably wake her up so she can take a shower and change.
“Kid time to wake” Peter lightly shakes her. She quickly gets up and backs away with fear evident in her eyes, he can hear as her heart beats speed up and her breathing becomes uneven. He puts his hands “woah its okay it's just me there's nothing to be scared of you’re safe.”
The kid's heart stops beating really fast and her breathing evens out.” Are you okay?” she nods.
“Okay.” He hands her the bag of clothes” my friend just dropped these off for you.” She takes the bag. "Do you want to take a shower then eat?” She doesn't say anything for a few seconds but then nods slowly.
“I’ll go and start the shower so it can heat up. ”while peter goes and does that she looks into the bag Peter had given her and it had a couple different things in it she then put it back down peter then came back out of the bathroom a few seconds later.”I think the water is warm enough now.”
15 minutes later and the kid just got out of the shower and is wearing a plain blue shirt and Spider-Man pj pants. He didn't even know there was any and he's pretty sure what they're doing is technically illegal but he doesn't really care.
He's just shocked Matt bought them. Now there on the couch watching an animated show about trollhunters or something but the kid looks to be enjoying it. Well he should probably start cooking food. So that's what he does he decided on pasta it's quick and easy.
10 minutes later
“Kid foods done.” The kid then gets off the couch and comes to the table, her eyes looking at the pasta “what’s that. ””it's pasta it’s really good.” Peter grins “trust me. ”they both sit down.
The kid hesitantly eats some of the pasta and after a few seconds her eyes light up and she pretty much hails the rest” kid you should slow down i don't want you to choke.” she gets a second bowl and eats slower this time.
“Kid how about we finely get you a name?” She looks up and nods excitedly. Peter just ends up looking up names and one catches the kids eye. ”That one.” Peter looks at her. ”which one?”
“This one. Morgan.”
