Summary:

What if the child they once bound is still there, coexisting with Abaddon? After all, they’ve been together for so long that it’s hard to tell who’s really in control anymore.

Right now, he was on an important mission: to save these humans.
“Save... what a ridiculous word,” Abaddon thought, though deep down he couldn’t remember what exactly he was supposed to find.
He would never admit it out loud—especially not to that human—that he had forgotten what he was sent for.
He would only prove that he was capable, that he was still the powerful being he once was.

“What was it we had to look for?” Abaddon asked, narrowing his eyes as he examined the dusty, scarred walls of the hotel.

“Umm… I think it was buttons! Yes, buttons!”
The child’s voice echoed inside his head, cheerful and bright, in stark contrast to Abaddon’s deep and dry tone.

The demon nodded slowly.
“Buttons… yes. That must be it. Let’s find every last one of them and prove what we are.”

His voice echoed down the empty corridor, and for a moment, he felt… accompanied.

The child giggled in his mind.
And so, with firm steps and a pride that bordered on madness, Abaddon declared:
—“I, the Scorpion King, will find all those buttons!
