Chapter Text
Danger was not only in the job-description, it was the job description, and every first responder knew that very well. Facing the fact that you are putting your life on the line was easily overshadowed by the sweet tinge of saving another. It also put an interesting twist on ones protectivness of their loved ones. You can never worry more about anyone burning than those who face the flames themselve.
If Kade Burns and HeatWave had one thing they could agree on, than it was this.
So being part of a family forming a rescue team was a dangerous knife held against a beating heart, or a vibrating spark. That they could also agree on, in this very moment, if they could only reach eachother through their comms.
“Kade, can you hear me?” HeatWave asked “Everybody is allright down here, but I don’t think we can climb back up,” but his distress call was only answered by the emoty static of the radio. “Kade,” he tried once more. “Ugh— this is pointless,” muttered the bot, finally giving up on reaching his partner.
