Chapter Text
2 years prior
In the middle of a forest, deep and lost in Brazil, there is a gorgeous, well-kept clearing with a nearby mountain, a waterfall, a garden, ponds, a meadow, and a house at the center.
The house is big, with three floors and a basement. The first floor has a living room, kitchen, pantry, laundry room, closet, and library.
The second floor has nine rooms, each one customized to a person’s liking, with two bathroom suites—one for the girls and one for the boys.
The third floor has a game room, an office area for schoolwork, projects, or anything else, an art studio, a bathroom, and a balcony area.
The basement has a computer lab, workshop, gym, weapons area, a bunker, and a storage room with extra food and other items.
In the living room are nine kids sitting together, having a movie marathon.
They’ve known each other for years, becoming like family to one another over that time.
All because a certain girl named Miwa Hikari was unable to handle the loneliness and lost control of her powers, causing eight gate-like portals to open and bring eight different children to her home.
And everything was amazing and great before the events in their lives began to drag each one of them down a road filled with troubles.
"But we’ll be getting into that after a moment of enjoying the family time together."
As the night slowly comes to an end, everything is cleaned up, and they get ready to return to their homes.
"I wish you guys would let me come deal with those people hurting you," Miwa says with a sigh of defeat.
"We understand why you're upset with us not wanting you to intervene, even with the people who do harm us," Hinata starts.
"But we also know what you could do if given permission to do so," Leo/Lion continues.
"As long as we stay together and take care of each other when we can, that’s all that matters—even if we suffer," Atsushi smiles.
Tanjiro nods. "Yeah, we’re family, and even if we don’t get together too often, it doesn’t mean we won’t try to be there for each other."
"Plus, with our way of communication, we’re all just a call away, so don’t worry. If there’s ever an emergency and we need to call each other, we can be there in an instant," Ochako adds happily.
Leon/Blue holds up his wrist, a bracelet on it. "Yeah, we have each other’s numbers and these special bracelets that contain some of your ability, so we can travel to each other if needed."
"No matter what, we’d never give up on each other!" Asta grins.
"Definitely, and it’s not like nothing crazy is going to happen," Usopp says with a smile.
"Little did they know that five of them were about to enter hell, only to be joined by the other four two years later in their own hell."
After they all said their farewells with the right combination entered into their bracelets, everyone returned to their homes before anyone could notice them gone.
Over the few opportunities they have gotten to visit Miwa’s hidden home, it was always a mix of things they liked to do.
Sometimes training, reading, gaming, competitions, board games, movie marathons, cooking outrageously big meals, gardening, exploring, and playing on the island.
But for the next two years, things would begin to get crazy, and they would get less and less time together.
With the following happening:
Tanjiro losing most of his family and training to become a Demon Slayer to turn his sister back into a human.
Ochako working hard to get into UA, dealing with villain attacks, and school.
Hinata training, going on more missions, Naruto returning, and having to fight more.
Atsushi having to deal with the tiger, getting kicked out of the orphanage, then being dragged into an agency.
Usopp joining an exploration crew that gets into trouble almost every week and getting separated from them.
Leo/Lion having to deal with crisis after crisis with the Foot Clan, the Krang, school, and other enemies.
Leon/Blue having to deal with mystic powers, their own enemies, school week after week, and becoming the leader.
Asta having to deal with getting his grimoire, Magic Knight training, and joining a Magic Squad—the Black Bulls, to be precise.
And lastly,
Miwa having to deal with family drama and the constant problems at her work.
So their lives have been very chaotic, and they haven’t had much time to get together. They’ll call and talk momentarily over text or phone, but it isn’t the same.
Though they have sort of turned their trauma into a game called "At Least I’ve Never," with them basically throwing each other’s trauma in their faces.
They have fun with it.
Of course, with secrets as big as theirs, someone is bound to notice something.
The first to start noticing was Ranpo. After him was Robin, Tello (Rise), and Donnie (2012), then Shinobu, Deku, and Sakura, as well as Miwa’s annoying partner at work, Kayla.
With people starting to notice, it was only a matter of time before they got confronted, or before something bad happened and it became an emergency that needed their help.
And well, the first person to get confronted was Atsushi, for three reasons:
One: Ranpo has no problem being blunt and exposing people.
Two: He had been taking a lot more calls from his siblings due to emergencies and them needing help.
And three: He had been disappearing a lot, being very secretive about certain things.
So all of that led to one day, after an excruciating mission, just as he was about to call one of them to explain—Ranpo decided it was his chance to pick back up his investigation, into atsushi secret life.
