A man in search of warmth.

Dammed by the gods to live for centuries in the cold.

He knows not what it means to be loved or cherished.

All he knows, sees, and feels is the icy cold.

Yet he craves for someone to love and hold.

Chapter One: Blizzard

Warnings: Slight spice, descriptions of hopelessness, and freezing to death.

“Um, Rick, where are we going?” William asked.

Rick and William had crossed the Canadian border days ago. Then they had just kept driving. William wasn’t even sure if they were still in Ontario anymore. Wherever they were, it was far north and completely isolated. He hadn’t seen a town in hours, and his phone didn’t register any bars.

“Camping,” Rick answered excitedly.

“Rick, it’s the middle of winter,” William said. He looked out the window and watched the endless snowy landscape pass by.

When Rick had asked William if he wanted to go on a trip with him. William had immediately agreed without asking for details or specifics. Simply excited to spend time with Rick. He should have known something was wrong when Rick had instructed him to purchase winter clothing. Such as a winter coat, boots, hat, mittens, and a scarf.

“Exactly! Perfect for camping. Believe me, William. You are going to love this,” Rick promised.

Even more hours passed by with no signs of civilization, but eventually the two Americans reached their destination. William expected to see a cabin or nature retreat. Only to be met with more endless Canadian woods. Tall evergreen pines frosted with snow.

“Where is the campsite?” William asked. He stepped out of Rick’s truck and shivered. Even with all his winter clothing, William was still cold. His breath ghosted out in front of him. A wisp of warmth which was quickly snuffed out by the bitter cold.

Rick went to the trunk of his trunk and grabbed their luggage. Then he started to walk off into the woods. “We are making our own,” Rick said.

“Wait? Are you serious! Isn't that super dangerous?” William said. Voice full of alarm and concern. He followed Rick into the woods.

“Don’t worry, I do this all the time, it will be fun,” Rick promised. He looked back at William and gave him a reassuring smile.

William continued to follow Rick through the woods. He kept rubbing his hands together and nuzzling into his scarf. Desperate to get some warmth. After many hours of walking, they stopped in a random clearing full of tree stumps. It seemed that someone had chopped many of the trees down.

“This looks like a good spot!” Rick said. He started to set up a tent and a campfire. He smiled widely and looked to be enjoying himself immensely.

William sat down on a random wooden stump and watched Rick set up the campsite. He would have offered help, but William had never gone camping before. Knew absolutely nothing about the outdoors.

“You like this, huh? Camping in the winter? In the middle of nowhere? Really?” William said.

He didn’t understand how. William enjoyed exploring local cafes. Searching for the best latte. Or petting friendly stray cats. When he felt especially mischievous, he would flirt with desperate tops and get free drinks. That was fun, not this. Camping seemed more like a punishment, not something to seek out.

“Yes. It’s like the rest of the world has melted away. Absolute peace,” Rick said.

“And you wanted to share that experience with me?” William asked. Rick turned to look at William. He suddenly looked a little nervous.

“I... I usually do this alone, but I like you, William. Your presence...feels safe,” Rick said and then quickly looked away from him. He went back to setting up their campsite.

William knew that Rick had a traumatic past. He often had panic attacks or reacted to specific triggers. Was on edge constantly and avoided people. Rick didn’t speak about his past often, and William didn’t know the whole story. But the pieces Rick had shared with him were horrific.  William felt honored that Rick found him safe and had invited him to something clearly meaningful to him.

“I like you as well, Rick,” William admitted softly.

The two of them weren’t officially dating. Currently just friends with benefits. But William hoped this trip would change that. The idea of Rick being his boyfriend filled his stomach with butterflies.

After the campsite was finished being set up. Night came quickly. During the winter, the days in Canada were far too short. The sky turned inky black and filled with countless shimmering stars. William had spent his entire life in the city. Its sky is polluted by man. Stars rarely managed to break through. So, the sight of a sky filled with so many stars filled William with amazement.

“Here,” Rick said. He then handed William a cup of hot chocolate.

“Thank you,” William said and accepted the offered drink. He took a sip. Felt the decadent and rich taste of chocolate on his tongue.

Rick then joined William next to the fire. He wrapped a thick blanket around the two of them and got close. Pressing his body against William’s. For the first time since entering Canada. William did not feel the bitter bite of winter.

“Do you want to hear something spooky?” Rick asked.

“Oh?” William said. He raised an eyebrow. His eyes sparkled with curiosity.

“This forest has cryptids,” Rick said.

“Like the moth man? Or the Loch Ness monster?” William asked. He became even more curious.

“No more like spirits,” Rick said.

“Really?” William said.

“Yeah, it all started during Canada’s 1800s logging boom. Beautiful spirits appeared. With snow white hair and icy blue eyes. They seduced the loggers and trapped them in blizzards. The men disappeared. Never to be seen again,” Rick said. His voice was barely a whisper. Obviously, trying to make his tale even spookier. It didn’t work. William wasn’t so easily scared.

“I bet the men were just cheating and running off with their new wives,” William snickered.

“Probably,” Rick smiled.

“But if there are spirits in these woods. You will protect me, right? Put those big muscles to good use,” William purred. His tone turned very flirty. William took a finger and ran it up and down Rick’s impressive chest.

“Of course,” Rick said. He looked at William as if he were something precious. It made him feel cherished.

Rick then leaned down for a kiss. He paused a couple of millimeters away from William’s lips. Making sure that he consented. William enthusiastically closed the remaining distance and pressed their lips together. Then they kissed passionately.

After a little while, Rick grew bolder. His lips traced a path downwards. Towards William’s neck. His kisses became a little rougher, but still slow. As if Rick was savoring every inch of William. When his fingers moved dangerously low, William shivered. Not from the cold but from the way Rick’s touch made his heart race.

They soon moved to the tent. A flurry of excited, lustful touches. The sound of their moans and whispers filled the quiet night. Their warmth and bodies combined into a singular flame.

For a moment, William understood exactly what Rick had meant. It did feel like the rest of the world had melted away. That only he and Rick existed. They were completely unaware that, in reality, they were not alone. Jealous eyes watched them from the woods.

William awoke the next morning, held carefully in Rick’s muscular arms.

“Good morning, William. Last night was amazing, you were perfect,” Rick said. His voice was full of affection and praise. He gently placed his lips on William's cheek and softly kissed him.

“Hmm, yeah, you too,” William murmured sleepily. Still in the process of waking up.

“I'm going to get the fire going again, then make us some breakfast,” Rick said. He released William and stood up. Then Rick got dressed and walked out of the tent. William immediately missed his warmth.

He closed his eyes and almost drifted back to sleep, but then Rick’s swearing woke him back up.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck” Rick swore. He sounded very upset.

“What is wrong?” William said and sat up. Fully awakening.

“There is a blizzard. A total white out,” Rick said.

William dressed himself and then poked his head outside the tent. Everything outside of the campsite was pure white. Like a white piece of paper waiting for ink. The air was also filled with snow, and the wind was bitterly cold.

“Oh, well, I am sure it will be over soon,” William said.

It was not.

Many days passed and the blizzard did not let up for even a moment. The temperature steadily dropped even further. A deep gnawing ache penetrated deeply into Williams' bones. Every shiver or breath brought a sting of pain. No matter how close William stayed by the fire. Or how much he pressed his body up against Ricks. He could not get warm.

“We are out of firewood. I’m going into the woods,” Rick shivered.

Keeping the fire going had become a constant struggle. The icy wind kept snuffing the fire out. This resulted in them using up even more wood to get it going again.

“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” William asked.

“We don’t have a choice. If we are going to survive the blizzard, then we will need to stay warm,” Rick said.

“What if you can’t find your way back? I don’t want to be alone,” William shivered from both cold and fear.

Rick leaned down and gently kissed William’s cheek. The moisture immediately froze. He then left Williams' side. Grabbed his axe and turned to face the woods.

“I promise to come back. Just wait for me...also William,” Rick said, his voice drifting off.

“Yes, Rick?” William said.

I'm sorry for bringing you here. It was a mistake,” Rick said regretfully. He stepped into the woods, and his figure was completely consumed by the blizzard. It was the last time William ever saw Rick alive.

Three days passed, and the blizzard still hadn’t stopped.  The fire had gone out long ago, and William couldn’t get more wood. Rick had taken the only axe and had yet to return.

Due to the lack of any heat source. William’s hands, feet, nose, and ears ceased to feel anything. Having completely gone numb. Frostbite and hypothermia were slowly killing him. Warmth a distance memory.

William felt completely hopeless and full of despair. He knew that if the blizzard didn’t stop. Or Rick didn’t come back soon. Then he would die.

“Fuck, where the hell are you, Rick? You promised to come back, liar,” William shivered violently and cried. His tears were freezing before they reached the snow-covered ground. Although he knew it wasn’t rational, he felt angry at Rick. It was easier to blame a person than mother nature.

Suddenly, for the first time since it had started, there was a break in the blizzard. A space that wasn’t completely consumed by snow. William looked towards it and felt strangely drawn in. It whispered safety.

William considered his options. He could stay at the campsite and continue waiting. Probably resulting in him freezing to death. Or William could leave the campsite and enter the woods. Hopefully, either finding Rick or his way back to the truck.

William really only had one option. Choice an illusion. He packed his bag with the remainder of his quickly depleting supply of food and water. Then he entered the blizzard.

The world was quiet. Sound muffled by a blanket of snow. The only sound William heard was the soft crunch of his footsteps in the snow. William could not see where he was going. His vision was almost completely consumed by the blizzard. Apart from a small part of the storm, in which the snow was strangely absent. He tried to stay in that particular part and continued to push forward.

William walked for miles. Over time, his movements slowed. Each step forward took an immense amount of effort. His muscles stiffened. Thoughts became foggy and slow. His heartbeat sluggishly and his breaths became shallow. William knew that his body was failing him, but there was nothing he could do about it. All he could do was move forward.

Finally, William could continue no longer. His body fully collapsed into the snow. He wasn’t sure how long he laid there. The snow had started to bury him. Claiming him as part of it. William knew that he needed to get up and struggle. Fight for his life, but he was simply too cold. William closed his eyes and started to drift away.

“I have waited for so long,” A voice said.

William opened his eyes and looked up. He saw a masculine figure in the snow. For a moment, he thought it was Rick, but no, that wasn’t right. The blues of his eyes were too icy. His hair was colored a snowy white instead of a warm sunshine yellow.

William closed his eyes again. Unable to keep them open. He felt himself being picked up and gently held. Instinctively, William snuggled into the body. Seeking warmth only to find none.

“But you are perfect,” the voice said. Full of joy. Then William heard no more.

.

.

.

.

William felt warm. A gentle softness surrounded him. He nuzzled further into its comfort.

“Are you awake?” A voice softly inquired.

Slowly, William opened his eyes. He found himself tucked into a bed. Blanketed by many furs. A soft pillow under his head. William sat up and observed his new surroundings.

He found himself inside an ancient log cabin. The cabin emitted a cozy charm with its weathered wooden beams, stone fireplace, and candlelight. At the end of the bed stood a very handsome man.

Snow white hair, icy blue eyes, ghostly pale skin, and a ridiculously muscular figure. He was dressed in a blue long-sleeved turtleneck sweater and even darker blue pants. He looked at William with an intense expression .

“Who are you and where am I?” William asked.

“My name is Mark, and this is my cabin. I found you in the snow,” Mark said. William noticed that he had a thick Canadian accent.

“You saved me....thank you,” William said. His voice was full of gratitude and relief.

William felt incredibly lucky. What was the chance that, in the middle of nowhere during a blizzard, he had been found? It seemed like an impossible miracle.

“Of course. It was my pleasure. What is your name?” Mark asked. He got closer to William. Closing the distance between them until he stood next to him.  Mere inches away.

“William,” William answered. He then violently sneezed. His nose was congested, and every one of his muscles ached. William felt very ill.

“Oh...you are not well. Don’t worry, I will nurse you back to health,” Mark promised. He smiled softly.

“Thanks....but I really need to find my companion and go home,” William said. He tried to leave the bed, but Mark placed a hand on his chest and gently pushed him back down.

“You can’t leave, not in this blizzard. It’s not safe,” Mark said and shook his head back and forth in refusal.

“Shit...,” William swore and then sneezed again.

“How about you stay with me until the storm ends, and you are healthy?” Mark suggested.

“Is that really okay? You don’t mind?” William asked. He could not believe how kind and generous Mark was being. Canadians were stereotyped as being friendly, but this seemed too good to be true.

“It’s no trouble at all. You are more than welcome,” Mark said. He smiled a little wider. Showing off sharp canines.

William felt a random spike of fear. Like a dormant instinct had risen. Created from back when humanity was not the dominant predator. William also suddenly remembered the legend Rick had told him. Slowly, he lifted a finger over and poked Mark’s stomach. To his relief, he felt flesh.

“Why did you do that?” Mark asked. He tilted his head to the side. Like a confused dog.

“Just...making sure you aren’t a spirit,” William said, incredibly embarrassed.

For some reason, this made Mark laugh. William enjoyed his laugh. It was deep and full of amusement.

“Now, how about I make you some soup?” Mark said. His voice was gentle and caring. Yet his eyes sparkled with a wild excitement.

Chapter Two: Soup

Warnings: Manipulation and nonconsensual body modification.

Mark soon returned and presented William with a large wooden bowl. It was filled to the brim with soup. He also presented William with a wooden spoon.

“Here, William, this will make you feel better,” Mark said softly, smiling. Mark’s smile had a glow of kindness that made William feel completely welcomed.

‘Thank you,” William said and gratefully accepted the bowl and spoon. The bowl felt warm in his hands. The scent that wafted from it was enticing. It made William’s stomach growl and his mouth fill with drool.

The trip was only supposed to last three days. So, Rick had only packed a small amount of food. He never expected them to be stuck in the woods for over a week. As days continued to pass, food had become scarce and rationed. Hunger scratched the inside of his stomach. Like a feral animal trying to break free. Yet, William did not immediately eat.

“Umm, what’s in this?” William asked.

“Elk, onion, carrots, mushrooms, garlic, and salt. I promise that it’s very tasty,” Mark answered. He stared at William with an eager expression.

“Why is it glowing?” William asked. The soup was bioluminescent. Faintly glowing soft baby blue.

“Oh, that's due to the mushrooms and some magic,” Mark answered. William thought he was joking, but Mark sounded completely serious.

William continued to hesitate. Mark’s smile completely fell. “Do you not like soup?” Mark asked. His expression reminded William of a dog whose owner had kicked it.

“No, I love soup. I am just surprised that it glows,” William answered.

He was still hesitant to eat the soup. Something about this seemed wrong, but he also didn’t want to upset Mark. He had literally saved his life and was now offering him food and statuary. It would be rude to refuse the food presented to him.

William ignored his instincts. He lifted the spoon and ate a spoonful of the soup. His taste buds exploded with a completely unique flavour. The soup tasted like a forest. Earthy, wild and rich. Its warmth and flavour penetrated deep. Directly into his soul.

“Do you like it?” Mark asked. He looked at William with wide, hopeful eyes.

“Yes, it’s delicious. Thank you, Mark,” William said. For the first time since the blizzard had begun, he smiled.

William continued to eat the soup. Mark watched him with a very satisfied expression. When the soup was finished. He was now full. William had gained a little energy. So sprang into action.

“Mark, do you have a phone I could use?” William asked.

“Why?” Mark asked.

“I want to call my family and let them know I am okay. They are probably worried sick. I was supposed to be home days ago. Also, Rick is still missing. I should probably call the police,” William explained.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t have a phone,” Mark said.

“What about wifi?” William asked. If he couldn’t call, then maybe he could get a message out via the internet.

“I don’t have electricity,” Mark said.

“Really?” William said. He turned his head around and noticed the cabin showed no signs of moderation. It was lit entirely by candlelight, which created a calming glow.

“This cabin has belonged to my family for over a hundred years. I never saw the point of upgrading,” Mark said.

“Interesting........choice,” William said.

He tried not to sound judgmental. But William did not understand why Mark would choose a life without modern comforts. Perhaps William was just a spoiled millennial. Who couldn’t live without his TikToks and lattes? Probably.

“By the way, is Rick by chance a large fella with blonde hair and blue eyes? Wearing a yellow snow coat?” Mark asked. His constant smile fell once again, and his expression turned very serious.

“Yes! Have you seen him? Is he okay?” William asked. Mark nodded his head in confirmation. William’s heart filled with relief. Rick was alive and had not perished in the blizzard.

“I saw him in the woods three days ago. Then again, driving down the main highway towards town,” Mark said.

“.... maybe it wasn’t Rick then,” William said. Rick wouldn’t have left him behind.

“He was driving a red truck. With an Upstate University bumper sticker. Does that sound familiar?” Mark asked. William’s heart sank.

“That’s Rick’s truck...it was him.... he must have been unable to find his way back to our campsite. Went to town to get help,” William said. Trying to rationalise Rick, leaving him.

“If that were true, he would have returned a long time ago. I haven’t seen him or any rescuers. It’s just you and me in these woods,” Mark said.

Rick would never abandon me,” William snapped, raising his voice.

“I am sorry, William, but he did,” Mark said. His voice was full of sympathy.

William tried to process and accept that Rick had left him to die. He felt completely betrayed and wanted to cry. Before he could properly process his emotions. William was overwhelmed with a strange sensation.

His abdomen started to cramp painfully. For a moment, William believed that his stomach was rejecting Mark’s soup, but that was wrong. The cramps were lower. Right in the middle between his pelvic bones. William let out a groan of pain, and Mark was immediately by his side.

“What’s wrong?”  Mark asked, very concerned.

“I'm cramping. Fuck is this what a period feels like? Poor women, this sucks,” William tried to joke.

Mark did not laugh. Instead, he ran out of the room. Soon, he returned with a ceramic mug in his hands. It was filled with a hot liquid that smelled like herbs.

“Here, this will make the pain go away,” Mark said. William snatched the mug from him and drank it quickly. Desperate for relief. It was obvious that Mark had tried to sweeten the drink with honey. But the bitterness of the herbs snuffed out any sweetness.

Soon, the pain completely faded away. Still, William felt a sense of wrongness. It was like his organs were shifting around inside him. William had been sick many times before, but he had never felt anything like this.

“So, ummmm, it’s late and I want to go to bed,” Mark announced. He suddenly sounded very shy. His cheeks were pink with a faint blush.

“I wouldn’t mind going to sleep as well,” William said. He felt completely exhausted. His brief burst of energy was gone. Plus, he was still sick. His body practically begged for rest.

“There is only one bed, and you are in it,” Mark said.

“Oh......OH! Well, um, do you have a couch I could use?” William asked.

“You misunderstand. William, I am not kicking you out of the bed. You are my guest and sick,” Mark said.

“Thank you, that is very kind of you, but where will you sleep?” William said. Once again, he was amazed by Mark’s overwhelming hospitality and kindness.

“Would you be comfortable if we shared?” Mark asked shyly.

William slightly tensed. Although he would love to share a bed with such a hunk. Agreeing while Mark was unaware of his sexuality made him feel predatory.

“I'm gay,” William confessed. He hoped that Mark wasn’t homophobic and would now throw him out into the blizzard.

“So am I,” Mark casually confessed.

“Ah,” William said. His face suddenly felt very warm.

“I won’t touch you or try anything without your consent,” Mark promised. He now sounded very nervous.

“I wasn’t worried about that, but thanks,” William said. Mark seemed harmless. Like a big, fluffy marshmallow. Sweet, soft, and full of sugar.

“So... would you....” Mark asked. His voice trailed off.

“Yeah, of course, we can share the bed,” William said. He lifted the furs and moved over. Creating a space for Mark.

Mark smiled. He went around the bedroom and snuffed out the candles. Sending the cabin into complete darkness. William felt Mark climb into bed with him. He tried to leave some distance between them, but it was impossible. Mark was massive, and the bed was too small.

William could feel Mark’s body pressing up against him. Mark smelled faintly of gingerbread. His body was firm yet soft. Strangely, he had no body heat. Mark was ice cold.

“You are really cold,” William said.

“I’m sorry,” Mark said. He sounded very sad. It made William feel guilty.

“No, don’t apologise. That is fine, but are you okay?” William said, concerned. It couldn’t be healthy to be that cold.

“Thanks for your concern, but I am fine. It’s just how my body works,” Mark said.

Oh, okay,” William said.

He snuggled a little more into the furs. Trying to get warmer and combat Mark’s icy flesh. They were quiet for a long time. William almost drifted off to sleep, but then Mark spoke.

“William, I am very happy that you are here,” Mark said. His voice was soft and full of honesty.

“You are?” William asked.

He turned his body and found that Mark was already facing him. His eyes seemed to glow in the dark for a few moments, but William must have imagined it.

“I’m lonely, and your presence is warm,” Mark confessed.

“You don’t have a boyfriend?” William asked curiously.

Mark was incredibly good-looking and caring. Sure, he lived in the middle of the woods, but still. He seemed perfect. What the hell were the gay Canadians doing that Mark was still on the market?

“No....do you?” Mark asked. For a moment, William thought about Rick. Then he once again felt the sting of betrayal.

“No,” William said.

“Really? That is surprising, but I am glad,” Mark said.

“Why?” William asked. His heart started to flutter a little, and he began to feel nervous.

“I was worried about an angry boyfriend breaking into my cabin and claiming that I stole you,” Mark said. William let out a small laugh.

“Nope! You have me all to yourself. At least until the blizzard ends,” William said.

“Yes, until the blizzard ends,” Mark said.

Mark then closed his eyes and snuggled a little closer to William. He took this as a sign that it was time for them to go to sleep.

“Good night, Mark,” William said and closed his eyes.

“Night, William, sweet dreams,” Mark replied. Then the two of them fell asleep.

Chapter Three: A warm and inviting home

Tw: Manipulation, non-consensual body modification.

William awoke the next day. For a few moments, he was incredibly confused. He did not recognize his surroundings. Or the cold pair of arms, which were wrapped around his torso. Holding William a little too tightly.

He let out a sleepy little murmur. Then William turned his head. Saw Mark and remembered everything. Camping with Rick, the blizzard, almost perishing in the cold, and finally being rescued by Mark.

Williams' face warmed as he realized that during the night, Mark had embraced him. Like a beloved plushie or lover. He knew that it must have been an accident. Mark would probably feel guilty if he woke up and found them like this.

So, William tried to escape Mark’s cold embrace. Quietly, without waking him up. It was then that William noticed something very alarming.

Mark was not breathing. His chest was completely still against William’s back. Quickly, William turned around and pressed his ear against Mark’s muscular chest. He heard no heartbeat, only silence.

“Oh shit!” William swore.

He struggled and managed to break free from Mark’s tight embrace. William then stared down at Mark’s body. Which was far too still and quiet. His mind was racing a mile a minute with panic.

Had Mark died in his sleep?

Could he be saved?

How the hell was he supposed to contact emergency services?

Should William start applying CPR?

Suddenly, Mark’s eyes opened. William let out a small shriek of surprise. He moved backwards. Falling to the floor with a thud. After a few moments, Mark looked down at him from over the edge of the bed. His eyes flooded with confusion, and his mouth turned downwards in a frown.

“What is wrong?” Mark mumbled. He sounded very groggy.

“You were dead!” William screamed.

“William, you must have been half asleep. Still dreaming. Look at me, I am fine,” Mark said in a reassuring tone. His mouth turned upwards in a small, nervous smile.

William stood up. Then he quickly closed the distance between them. He shoved his head onto Mark’s chest. His chest rose and fell in rhythmic breaths. William could hear a steady heartbeat. He was alive.

“I.......I.......,” William mumbled. He removed his head from Mark’s chest. Had he just imagined it? Still been dreaming? It had felt so real.

“See? Everything is okay. How about I make you breakfast? Then, when you finish, I can give you a tour of the cabin. How does that sound to you?” Mark asked. William was quiet for a few seconds. Then he nodded his head up and down in agreement.

“Fantastic,” Mark said. He got out of bed and left the bedroom. William stood still for a few moments. He was still in shock. His heart was racing a mile a minute, but eventually he calmed down. Mark seemed fine, so he must have been mistaken.

Slowly, William left the bedroom. He expected to feel cold now that the thick furs no longer embraced his body. Instead, he felt warm. The fireplace filled the entire cabin with cozy warmth. Constant comfort.

William soon found himself in a small kitchen. Mark was cooking. Humming a cheerful tune, which William didn’t recognize. Mark wore an apron that clung to his muscular figure in all the right ways. William’s gaze lingered.

Mark looked towards him and stopped humming. “Sit down. If you are going to recover...then you need food,” Mark said and gestured to a large wooden table.

“Thanks, Mark....” William said. He sniffled. Still feeling sick.

William sat down and patiently waited. He did not have to wait for long. Soon, Mark presented him with a plate. With a tall stack of golden brown, fluffy pancakes. The pancakes were covered in maple syrup and whipped cream.

“I hope you like pancakes,” Mark said. He joined William at the table. Sitting directly across from him.

“I have a massive, sweet tooth, so yeah, I love pancakes,” William said.

“I will remember that,” Mark said. His smile grew a little wider.

William picked up a fork and took a large bite. The pancakes were utterly delicious. William had eaten many pancakes in his lifetime, but never any like these. The maple syrup was much sweeter and richer than anything he had experienced before.

“The maple syrup is so dam good, what brand do you use?” William asked and started to enthusiastically eat.

“I tap the maple trees around here and make my own,” Mark said.

“That's amazing, Mark!” William said.

“Thank you, William, I am really glad that you like it,” Mark said. He sounded very proud and happy. As if William’s praise was something he held dear.

“Aren’t you going to make some for yourself?” William asked. He noticed that Mark had not set himself a plate.

“I am not hungry,” Mark said.

As William continued to eat. He looked out of a nearby window. William saw that the blizzard was still going. Strong as ever.

He felt a chill coming from the window. Which made him shiver and sneeze. Mark immediately reacted. His expression flooded with concern.

“Are you warm enough? I could bring you a sweater. Or add more wood to the fire.” Mark asked. William found him charming.

Even though they were basically strangers, Mark was so invested in his comfort. He wondered if his kindness was due to Mark being a Canadian. Or if it was his personality. Perhaps it was a mix of both.

“I am okay,” William said. If William stayed away from the windows and remained inside. He would be okay. The cabin and Mark’s presence felt like a warm blanket. Protecting William from the blizzard raging outside.

“Okay, but if I can do anything to make you more comfortable. Please let me know,” Mark said.

As William continued to eat. Mark suddenly stood up and grabbed a ceramic teapot. He shuffled around in his kitchen cabinet and grabbed many mason jars. The jars were filled with dried herbs. William noticed that one of the jars seemed to be faintly glowing blue. Mark threw many of the herbs into the teapot and filled it with water.

“Are you making some tea?” William asked.

“Yes, for you,” Mark answered.

“I’m not really that into tea. Do you have coffee? ” William asked.

“Coffee won’t make you feel better. This will,” Mark said.

“Is it the same tea from last night?” William asked.

“Yes, an old family recipe,” Mark said. He started to heat up the teapot.

“But it’s so bitter, do I have to?” William whined, then sneezed again.

“I can add some sugar and honey, come on, William. Don’t you want to feel better?” Mark said. He gave William a stern look. Like a mother explaining to their child why they needed to take their medicine.

“Agrh....fine,” William sighed in defeat.

“Good,” Mark said. Praising him.

Soon the tea was ready. William was presented with a ceramic cup. A bitter scent wafted from it, and the liquid glowed a faint blue.

“Drink it all,” Mark softly ordered. He stared down at William. With a strangely intense expression.

“Okay, mom,” William said sarcastically and rolled his eyes.

He lifted the cup to his lips and took a sip. He physically recoiled. The tea was so bitter. Yet, William drank it all. Sure enough, some of his sickness faded away, but the strange sensation in his lower abdomen returned. No pain this time, just a sense of wrongness. William tried to ignore it.

Soon, William finished his breakfast. Mark started to show him around his cabin. There was the bedroom and kitchen, which William had already seen. Next was a very comfortable bathroom. Which, to William’s relief, had some moderation. He wasn’t going to be forced to use a bucket or anything like that.

Next, Mark showed William the living room. It had another wooden fireplace. This kept the room especially cozy and warm. The floor was covered in a massive polar bear skin. Its glass eyes stared up at William. He found it a little creepy and tried not to look at it.

The room was furnished with two large, comfortable chairs. Placed right in front of the fireplace. In one of the corners of the living room was a large wooden bookcase. It was stocked with children's stories, recipe books, and parenting guides.

William got closer to the bookcase. Displayed on the top shelf where many framed pictures. One of the pictures was old. Black and white. Faded and the corners torn.

The old photograph depicted a beautiful Korean woman. With striking icy blue eyes and snow-white hair. She wore a long, white and blue dress. Covered in embroidered snowflakes. Standing next to her was a rugged Caucasian man with a thick dark mustache. He held a large axe and wore clothes meant for working outside.

Surrounding that photo were numerous more modern photos. They all depicted beautiful young women. Who all shared the same icy blue eyes and snow-white hair.

“My sisters,” Mark said and pointed to the more modern photos.

“Dude, how many sisters do you have?” William asked.

“Seventeen,” Mark answered.

“SEVENTEEN SISTERS!?! How is that possible?” William shouted. He was very surprised.

“That's normal for my family. We try to have as many children as possible, and they are always girls. My mom was completely shocked when I was born a male. I guess that has never happened before,” Mark said.

He sounded a little upset and moved away from the pictures. William followed him. Mark led him to another room.

Scattered across the floor were countless wooden toys. Crafted after the likeness of Canadian wildlife. Such as wolves, bears, seals, foxes, and birds.

In the middle of the room was a wooden crib. It was filled with a blanket and pillow made from fluffy white seal skins. Along with half a dozen teddy bears. William picked one of the teddy bears. He was shocked by the softness of its fur. It felt real.

“Aww, so cute. Is this a nursery?” William asked. He softly smiled.

“Yes...I made everything myself,” Mark answered.

“Really? That’s impressive,” William said. He placed the teddy bear back into the crib.

“So, do you like it? You think it’s acceptable?” Mark asked. He got very close to William. Their chests were almost touching.

“Yeah, it’s beautiful, Mark,” William said. He took a step back. The sudden closeness was making him feel a little flustered.

Mark let out a deep sigh of relief, and his body relaxed entirely. "I am so glad to hear that. Do you want children, William?” Mark asked.

William paused and thought about it for a couple of moments. Currently, he was focused entirely on finishing university. Then he planned to acquire a job and establish stability. Eventually, though, William wanted a loving husband and to raise children with him. Have a happy little family.

“Yes,” William answered.

Mark’s expression brightened and filled with excitement. It was like William had just told him that he had won the lottery. He suddenly grabbed William’s hands. Mark gently ran his thumb over William’s knuckles.

“We have the same dream,” Mark said. His eyes sparkled, and his smile was wide.

“Right, ummmmmm,” William said nervously. His face felt very warm.

“You have no idea how long I have been preparing. I want to be a good dad,” Mark said.

“I am sure you will be a great dad, Mark,” William said. He pulled his hands out of Mark’s grasp. Then scooted around him. Trying to escape the nursery. His heart was beating like a frightened rabbit. He felt so nervous.

“I will, William,” Mark promised and followed after him.

They made it to the final part of the house. A large white door. William shivered. A bitter cold emanated from the door. William raised his hand and went to open it. Before he could, Mark suddenly lashed out. He grabbed William’s hand and pulled it away from the doorknob.

“You are free to go anywhere else in the cabin, but not there,” Mark said. His body tensed, and he looked slightly panicked.

“Oh......why not?” William asked curiously. He pulled his hand out of Mark’s grasp.

“It’s private, please promise me that you won’t go in there,” Mark said. He sounded very serious.

“Sure, I won’t,” William promised.

“Thanks,” Mark said. He then placed his hand on the small of William’s back and gently led him away from the door. William spared it one last glance. He felt extremely curious but would respect Mark’s wishes. After all, he was a guest.

Hours passed, then days and then weeks. The blizzard did not stop. Soon, William had been stuck in the cabin for an entire month.

William felt like he was slowly going crazy. It reminded him of when the COVID-19 pandemic had started. Stuck inside and unable to leave due to the dangers outside. But during the pandemic, William had Netflix's, video games, and could video call with his family and friends at anytime. He had none of that here.

All he had was Mark.

“When is this storm going to end? Surely this can’t be normal, right?” William sighed.

He occasionally tried to go outside. Only to almost immediately be forced back inside. It was so bitterly cold. The blizzard stole his warmth. Like a wraith feeding off his life force. Still, William was getting desperate. He wanted to go home.

“Winters in Canada are long and cold,” Mark said. He didn’t seem bothered in the slightest that they were trapped by the blizzard.

Mark was making dinner. Well, William's dinner. He had never seen Mark eat. At first, this concerned him greatly, but Mark never seemed to lose weight. So, he must be eating when William wasn’t looking. Perhaps he had a complex.

“I'm sorry for imposing on your hospitality for so long,” William said. He felt guilty.

“Don’t worry, you are very welcome here,” Mark said cheerfully. His smile was wide. Just like always.

“Thank you, Mark, I am eternally grateful to you,” William said. His face felt warm, and his heart beat quicker.

Over the last month, Mark had tenderly nursed him back to health. He kept William warm and well fed. Treated him kindly. Every morning, William awoke in Mark’s cold yet comfortable embrace. This, combined with Mark’s overwhelming attractiveness, caused William to develop feelings. How could he not? Mark was perfect.

Mark sat down and joined William at the table. He watched William eat and continued to smile softly. “Hey William....can I talk to you about something?” Mark asked. He sounded almost shy.

“Of course you can, Mark,” William answered.

“Well.... to be honest....finding you in the woods feels like fate. I have been waiting my whole life to meet someone like you,” Mark said. He slowly reached across the table and gently grabbed William’s hand. He interlaced their fingers together.

“Oh....,” William said. His heart rate rose even higher, and he felt his blush deepen.

“I like you, William. Having you here feels right. Like you were meant to be mine. So, would you like to stay here with me? Forever?” Mark asked. William felt his stomach turn.

“Mark......I like you as well, but I can’t stay with you forever. I have a life back home. Friends, family, and university. You know this.” William said.

Mark stared at him for a long time. His eyes darkened, and his smile fell. Slowly, he released William’s hand.

“Oh......,” Mark said. He looked completely devastated by William’s rejection.

“But....until the storm ends.... I could be yours...” William offered.

“Really?” Mark asked. His smile returned along with the light in his eyes.

“Yes,” Williams said.

He knew that he was being selfish. That this would only make their eventual separation harder, but William didn’t care. In this moment, he was overcome with desire.

Mark released his hands. He stood up and walked over to William. His eyes stared at him. A mesmerizing and unnatural shade of blue. That drew William into their depths. Like a man lost at sea.

He leaned his head downwards. His lips, full and inviting. Begging William to taste their sweetness. Mark stopped a few inches from William’s face. He closed his eyes, waiting in anticipation.

William closed the distance between them. He pressed his lips against Mark’s and started to kiss him. Mark responded instantly and kissed him back. Frantic, desperate and needy. Like William’s kiss was oxygen and he was suffocating. Mark’s lips were icy cold, and his taste strange. Something pepperminty, like a candy cane. Yet the kiss was perfect.

In that moment, time stood still. Everything else faded away, and all that remained was him and Mark. William did not care about anything else. He felt safe, cherished and like he belonged here.

Which was exactly what Mark wanted.

Chapter Four: They have sex

Two weeks later

“What are you thinking about, Sweetie?” Mark asked. He approached William from behind. Then wrapped his arms around him and pulled him close. Embracing him gently.

“I’m worried. If this blizzard doesn't end soon...we will run out of food,” William sighed and continued to look out the window and watch the never-ending storm.

“Don’t worry, I promise to take care of you. If you stay with me, then you will never go hungry.” Mark promised and nuzzled into his neck.

Ever since William had agreed to be his partner until the storm ended. Mark had grown very touchy. He showered William with affection almost constantly. Mark also often told William how happy he was. Overjoyed that William was by his side. It was nice. William felt very desired and cherished. He was almost sad that it would end one day.

Mark gently grabbed William’s chin. Then he tilted William’s head towards him. Mark bent down and brought his lips to William’s. Then he kissed him. Much deeper and more intense than usual.

The kiss ignited a wildfire of desire inside William. His body grew hotter with need and want. Mark suddenly broke the kiss, and William let out a disappointed whine. He was delighted when Mark brought his lips to William’s neck and started to roughly kiss and nip.

Mark’s hands also started to explore William. With slow and deliberate movements. When Mark’s hand found the edge of his shirt and went underneath. William shivered. Partially from Mark’s icy skin, but also from the way Mark’s touch made his heart race.

“God, you are so cute. Do you want to take this to the bedroom?” Mark asked.

“Again? Gosh, you are needy,” William giggled. Mark was so cuddly. Sometimes it was difficult to escape the bed and his grasp. When he did manage to escape, Mark would try to lure him back.

‘Can you blame me? You are so cute, soft, and warm. Please, William....” Mark begged.

He looked up at William with the biggest pleading puppy dog eyes. Continued to kiss and nip his skin. In an almost playful manner. William gave in immediately.

“Okay, fine,” William said. He didn’t protest as Mark suddenly picked him up into a bridal carry. Then carried him to their bed.

Mark threw William onto the bed. A little roughly, but too rough. Then he climbed on top of William and started to remove his own clothing.

“I hit the jackpot,” William said and shamelessly stared at Mark’s bare, impressive chest.

“No, I am the lucky one. You have no idea how long I have been waiting for someone like you,” Mark said. Then he brought his head downwards and started to kiss William’s lips again.

The kiss was so dam good. William’s thoughts melted away. Consumed by the feeling of Mark’s muscular, icy flesh caging him in. His candy cane taste and gentle touches. The combination left him breathless and craving more. Mark broke the kiss for a moment and looked down at William with a hungry expression. He looked almost starved.

“I want you desperately. Will you allow me the honor?” Mark asked. It was obvious what he wanted, and William was more than willing to give it to him.

“Yes,” William enthusiastically consented.

Then he pressed his body into Mark’s, ignoring the chill. William reached upwards and placed a hand behind Mark’s head. Then he pulled him closer. Mark kissed him once again.

Slowly, Mark started to undress him. Every inch of skin that was exposed, Mark kissed and nipped. Making William squeal and squirm.

It wasn’t until Mark fully pressed against him, and he felt Mark’s erection, that William was startled back to reality. He broke the kiss and looked at Mark in complete shock.

“...is that real?” William asked. Mark tilted his head to the side.

“Are you asking if my dick is real? Why? Is there something wrong with it?” Mark asked. He suddenly sounded very anxious.

“It’s.....just bigger than I was expecting,” William said. He took a deep breath and internally started to give himself a pep talk. He could do this. Yeah! This was fine. Everything was fine.

“Oh, I am glad. I was worried for a moment,” Mark said. He let out a sigh of relief.

Then the hunger returned to his eyes. Mark started to strip his pants. Fully revealing the absolute monster that was going to go inside William. Holy shit! Okay, maybe this wasn’t fine.

“Do you have lube? Lots of lube? And a condom?” William asked.

“No....do we need that?” Mark asked.

“Yes!” William squeaked. His survival instincts started to really kick in. William wanted Mark desperately...but he had to think about his poor organs!

“Why? I’m....a virgin...so I don’t have any diseases if that is what you are worried about,” Mark said.

“Holy shit, you are? No way!” William said.

He became even more flabbergasted. Mark was a total hunk. William couldn’t believe that he was a virgin. Seriously, what the fuck were the gay Canadians doing! If only Mark had Grindr....he would be so popular! Well......that is if the local twinks could handle...the issue.

“Does me being a virgin bother you?” Mark asked. He sounded anxious again.

“No, of course not. It’s just...how the hell is that going to fit?” William said. The math was not mathing.

“I promise to be very gentle. Would never hurt you. So please, William. Let me plant my seed inside of you,” Mark begged.

Mark gently placed his hand on William’s stomach and gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes. It was cute. Too cute. William couldn’t resist.

“Okay, just go slow,” William said.

Mark smiled. He leaned his head downwards and softly kissed the top of William’s forehead.

“Thank you,” Mark said. He sounded absolutely delighted.

One hour of absolute insanity later

William laid on his side. His legs were shaking, and his breathing was ragged. He was covered in hickies, bite marks, and sweat. Absolutely wrecked.

“That was amazing. You were perfect,” Mark said. He slurred his words, drunk off his own happiness. Mark was gently embracing William from behind. He kept nuzzling William and kissing his skin softly.

“Hnnng.....dude...you aren’t human...” William panted and groaned. He was slightly struggling to breathe and felt very dizzy.

Mark was suddenly tense. He stopped nuzzling and kissing William. “Why would you say that?” Mark said. For some reason, he sounded very alarmed.

“Did you see my stomach bulge? You completely rearranged my organs....and look at my stomach now! It’s bloated! You have stuffed me like a Thanksgiving turkey. How the hell can you cum so much? It’s impossible! Inhuman! You are a monster!” William scoffed. He felt Mark relax.

“But you enjoyed it, right?” Mark asked.

“Yes...” William admitted. It was the best sex he had ever had. Probably the best sex of his life.

“I thought so, you were making such cute noises,” Mark chuckled. William suddenly felt very embarrassed, and his face turned a bright scarlet red.

“Shut up......but seriously. What the hell was that?” William said.

Mark claimed to be a virgin, but he hadn’t acted like one at all. More like a beast. With William being delicious prey. It was almost like he was designed for breeding.

“I wanted to be one hundred percent sure that you got pregnant,” Mark said. He placed a hand onto William’s bloated stomach and gently rubbed it.

“Ha ha ha, very funny,” William said sarcastically. Then he closed his eyes. Ready to fall asleep. William felt fantastic but also completely exhausted.

“Goodnight, William, thank you again. You have made me so happy,” Mark said softly. He then gently kissed the top of William’s forehead and embraced him tightly. It did not take long for William to drift off to a peaceful slumber.

.

.

When William awoke, he found himself alone. This was strange and the first sign that something was wrong. He had become used to waking up in Mark’s cold embrace.

“Mark?” William called out and let out a sleepy little yawn. Only to get no answer back.

William left the bed and got dressed. Then he started to search the cabin. While occasionally calling out for Mark. Only to be met with the cracking of the fireplace and the wind of the storm.

Mark was gone.

His thoughts immediately went to a dark spot. Rick had abandoned him to die. What if Mark had done the same? William tried not to let the dark thoughts consume him. He continued to search the cabin.

William stopped at the basement door. He shivered from the cold chill it always emitted. William lifted his hand and was about to open the door, then stopped. Mark had asked him not to go in there, and he wanted to respect his boundaries.

“I should check outside first......” William said and walked away from the basement door.

He got dressed in his winter gear. Then he approached the front door and tried to open it. Only to find that he couldn’t.

“What?” William grumbled. He kept trying to open the door again. Only to find no success. It didn’t feel like the door was locked. No, it felt more like something was blocking it.

William felt panic shiver up his spine. He was starting to feel trapped. The cozy cabin, which held so much warmth and safety. Now felt like a cage. Next, William tried the windows. Just to reassure himself that he could get out if he really needed to. William was met with a strange sight.

First, he noticed that the blizzard had finally stopped. William felt a rush of pure joy. But then he noticed that the windows were almost completely covered in glowing blue ice. He attempted to open them, but no matter how much William tried. The windows wouldn’t budge.

The rest of the day was terrible. William kept fighting off panic attacks. He soon became hungry and found that Mark had made him meals, but dared not eat them, trying to conserve food. Fearing the worst.

William kept going to the basement door. Numerous times, he lifted his hand to open it, but he always ended up turning away. Something about it made him feel uneasy, and somehow he knew that Mark was not down there.

Then night came, and finally he found Mark. “William, I am back,” Mark called out from the front door. Acting as if he were just a husband returning home to their wife after a long day at work.

“Where the hell were you?” William ran into the kitchen. He saw that Mark was carrying multiple large paper bags.

“Restocking,” Mark said casually. He started to unpack food from the paper bags and put it away. Most of the food was fresh, but there were also packaged goods.

“How...how did you go on a grocery run?” William asked. He was extremely confused. Mark had said the closest town was hours away by car, and he didn’t have a car. There was no way he could have gone to town and already returned.

“There was a break in the storm while you were sleeping. So, I took the opportunity to go to a nearby native reserve. The locals trade with me,” Mark explained. He stopped unpacking for a moment and turned to face William.

“Why didn’t you wake me up and take me with you? They probably could have helped me get home,” William said, raising his voice. He couldn’t believe this.

“You were sleeping so peacefully....and I was worried the storm would start up again halfway through the journey. The cold doesn't bother me...but you need to stay warm,” Mark explained. Mark then noticed the untouched meals he had made.

“Why didn’t you eat the food I left you?” Mark asked.

“I didn’t know if you were coming back, and I couldn’t leave the cabin! I was trapped and thought I was going to starve!” William shouted. He was incredibly angry but also felt extremely vulnerable. Tears start to fall from his eyes.

“William, I am so sorry, I didn’t realize you would be frightened so badly. I should have told you where I was going before I left...also, look. The ice is gone. It’s okay. You aren’t trapped,” Mark said and pointed to a nearby window.

William looked towards the window and saw that the glowing blue ice was indeed gone. He blinked a couple of times to make sure that he wasn’t seeing things.

What he saw was real, though. Somehow, the ice was gone. That should have been impossible. William had checked the windows just a couple of minutes ago, and the ice had still been there. Ice didn’t melt that fast.

William ran over to the window and opened it. He was immediately blasted with bitterly cold wind that bit. He was dusted in snow. The blizzard was back.

“Fuck!” William swore and quickly closed the window. He felt Mark move behind him and try to hug him, but William pushed him off.

“Are you mad at me, Sweetie?” Mark asked.

“Of course I am mad! You ruined my chance to go home!” William said. He turned to face Mark and glared at him.

“I am sorry,” Mark said. He once again gave William his big pleading puppy dogs, but this time, William didn’t fall for them.

“Where is the native reserve?” William asked. Mark hesitated to answer him for a few seconds. Then he finally spoke.

“Ten kilometers..........east of here,” Mark said.

“Kilometers? How many miles is that?” William asked.

“A little over six miles,” Mark answered.

“That is so close!” William said. He couldn’t believe that his freedom had been so close this entire time. His tears stopped falling. William started to pace back and forth around the kitchen. He was trying to think of a plan.

“You know the way, right? Tomorrow show me,” William demanded. Mark winced, and his expression flooded with anxiety.

“That’s a bad idea, William, it’s not safe,” Mark said. He shook his head back and forth in refusal.

Mark turned his back to William and started to unpack the remaining paper bags. William was about to shout at him that he would be going with or without him, but then he stopped. The supplies Mark was unpacking were...strange.

“What is all that?” William asked.

“Baby supplies. I got everything we will need. Diapers, wipes, baby shampoo and some onesies,” Mark answered. He started to show the items to William. He seemed weirdly proud.

“We? Why would we need any of those things?” William asked. For some reason, he started to feel very nervous.

“For our baby,” Mark answered.

“.......what?” William said. He thought that Mark must be joking, but he sounded completely serious. Also, this seemed like a lot of effort to go through for just a joke.

“I also got you some prenatal vitamins. They had strawberry and orange flavor. Do you have a preference? I wasn’t sure, so I got you both,” Mark said. He pulled some bottles out of the paper bag and held them up to William.

“Mark...I don’t understand. Are you trying to be funny? Or is this something sexual? A fetish?” William asked.

Mark frowned and placed the baby supplies and vitamins down. “It’s none of those things,” Mark said.

“Well, whatever this is, stop. You are making me very uncomfortable,” William said.

Mark smiled at him. His smile was warm as usual, but something was mixed in. It almost felt....predatory.

This was only the beginning.

Chapter Five: This bastard is crazy!

Warnings: Manipulation, fear, male pregnancy, mentions of drugging.

The next morning came. William walked into the kitchen and saw that Mark was making breakfast. He was cheerfully humming a tune which William once again did not recognize. Mark turned his head and looked towards him. His smile widened, showing off sharp, pure white teeth.

“Good morning, William! Did you sleep well?” Mark asked.

“Yeah,” William mumbled and sat down at the table.

“Wonderful. Breakfast will be ready in a moment,” Mark said and went back to cooking.

William looked out of a nearby window. He was not surprised to find that the blizzard was still going. It was impossible to distinguish anything. Snow consumed the landscape. Turning everything pure white.

“Here you go,” Mark said, and then presented William with multiple plates covered with food.

“There is no way I can eat all of this,” William said.

There was a tall stack of pancakes, crispy bacon, toast smothered in strawberry jam, hashbrowns, and a bowl of fresh fruit. It was like Mark had gone to a breakfast place and ordered everything on the menu.

“You need the calories, after all, you are eating for two now..” Mark said cheerfully.

“Mark......I’m not.....” William sighed. Mark interrupted him.

Oh, and don’t forget to take your vitamins,” Mark said. He placed a bottle filled with prenatal vitamins directly in front of William. Mark was practically beaming; he looked overjoyed. In contrast, William was frowning deeply and looked like he wanted to scream.

“Stop pretending that I am pregnant. It’s not funny,” William shouted. He ignored the bottle of vitamins. Instead, he lifted a fork and started to eat breakfast. The food was, of course, delicious, just like always.

Mark didn’t respond to William’s outburst. He instead joined William at the table. Sitting directly across from him. Then Mark watched William eat. Staring at him with intense focus. William stared back at Mark just as intensely. He felt like he was staring at an abstract painting. Trying to figure it out.

William thought Mark was perfect. He had such a warm personality. Welcoming, attentive, caring, and affectionate. He was also unbelievably attractive. Displaying a rugged figure but a gentle smile.  A perfect specimen of a man.

But ever since they had sex, Mark had changed. He seemed to be stuck in a delusional fantasy. That somehow, William was pregnant.

Mark’s smile felt more predatory than gentle. His intense focus was more obsessive than attentive. Instead of feeling soothed and comforted by Mark’s presence, he now felt anxious.

William should never have let crazy stick its dick in him. He had to get leave.

“Today I am leaving,” William announced.

He expected Mark to be upset. To protest or try to convince him to stay. Instead, Mark didn’t even blink.

“Good luck with that,” Mark said. He sounded amused. Almost smug.

William felt a spike of annoyance and continued eating until he was full. When he stood up to leave the table. Mark reached out and grabbed his shoulder. Preventing him from walking away.

“You didn’t take your vitamins,” Mark said.

“I am not taking them,” William said and tried to pull away from him. Mark refused to release him. His grip was tight and unescapable but not painful.

“Why not? Don’t you want our baby to be healthy?” Mark asked. His smile turned into a frown.

“Mark...there is no baby. I am a cisgender gay man,” William scoffed.

“Please take them, William,” Mark pleaded. Once again, flashing William his classic puppy dog eyes.

William stared at him in disbelief. After a few moments, he sighed in defeat. “Fine....” William reluctantly agreed.

Even though Mark had turned out to be a freak. William still felt very grateful towards him. Mark had saved his life after all. Then sheltered him during his time of need. Today was the last one they would spend together. William figured it wouldn’t hurt to go along with his fantasy just a little bit.

William grabbed the vitamin bottle and took two. Swallowing them dry. The artificial taste of strawberries was on his tongue. It was sweet but full of chemicals.

“Happy now?” William asked.

“Yes, very much so,” Mark said.

“Then release me,” William demanded.

“Right, sorry,” Mark said and then released him.

William walked away from the table and Mark. He started to prepare for the journey. The native reserve was close by. But due to the harsh weather and deep snow. William wasn’t sure how long the journey would take. So, he packed lots of food and water into a bag.

“Do you have a compass I could use?” William asked Mark. He started to get dressed. Wrapping himself up in his hat, scarf, mittens, heavy winter coat, and boots. He hoped they would be enough to shield him from the chill.

“Sure, but it won’t help you,” Mark said.

“Is it broken?” William asked and finished dressing in his winter gear.

“No,” Mark said. He rummaged around the cabin and soon presented William with a compass. It looked very expensive and old.

“Then why won’t it help me?” William asked. He examined the compass and found that it worked perfectly.

‘It didn’t help my dad,” Mark said. His words were ominous, but his smile was still bright. William wanted to ask what Mark meant, but he had an instinctive feeling that he shouldn’t.

“Well....then I guess this is goodbye. Thank you, Mark...for everything. I will always be grateful to you,” William said his goodbyes.  He felt slightly sad. Even with all of Mark’s creepy, weirdo behavior. William would miss him.

“See you soon,” Mark said very casually.

Once again, he went against William’s expectations. He had expected Mark to ask him to stay with him. Or at least become emotional. Instead, he seemed completely unbothered that this was the last time he would ever see each other.

William reached out and embraced Mark. Wrapping his arms around him tightly. Mark returned the embrace, and William tried to ignore the chill of his icy flesh. After a few moments, William released him and turned towards the door. He opened it and was blasted by the icy wind and snow. William hesitated for a few moments, but eventually stepped out into the blizzard.

His warmth was immediately stolen from him. Every breath William inhaled filled him with ice. Every exhale came out as a ghostly mist. Like his very spirit was being ripped from his body. William’s fingers, toes, and the tip of his nose became numb.

“Fuck,” William swore. This was awful. He felt very tempted to turn around and return to the cabin.

“It’s cold, right? Why don’t you come back inside where it’s warm?” Mark suggested.

William turned his head and saw that the cabin's door was open. Mark was gesturing for him to return inside. His posture was relaxed and non-threatening. Expression was warm and friendly, but William didn’t feel welcome. Instead, his instincts screamed with alarm.

“No, thank you,” William rejected the offer.

He looked away from Mark and towards the unknown. William’s vision was consumed with white. He could barely see a foot in front of him. The sky was completely covered in a grey cloud. No sunlight could break through its thick layer. Bitterly cold winds battered his body. Making it difficult to remain standing.

“I will be here when you change your mind,” Mark said. His voice was patient and knowing.

William pulled out the compass and located east. Then he took his first step forward. It was difficult to even walk. The snow was up to his knees. Every step forward, he had to push through pounds of snow and ice. William quickly grew exhausted.

Still, William stayed determined. He kept reminding himself that this was temporary. William just had to endure. Then he could go home and never return to Canada and suffer its bullshit winter ever again.

An hour into the journey, disaster struck. The compass suddenly stopped working. The needle started to spin.

“What?” William said. He shook the compass a couple of times and examined it closely. He tried to figure out what was wrong with it. But no matter what he did, the needle didn’t stop spinning.  This didn’t make any sense. Earth's magnetic pull couldn’t change.

“Okay......don’t panic,” William said to himself. He just had to keep going in the same direction. This was fine. He was fine.

An hour later, William realized that he was completely fucked.

He was hopelessly lost.  He kept having to go around natural obstacles such as trees, frozen rivers, and random large blocks of glowing blue ice. It was impossible to stay in the same direction without a guide. William also couldn’t back track. His footsteps were covered by snow in mere minutes. It felt like the storm was trying to erase any sign of his existence.

The temperature had also significantly dropped. The parts of him that were once numb now felt as if they were on fire. As if William had accidentally touched a hot stove top, but couldn’t pull away. This could only mean one thing.

Frostbite. The burning sensation was not from warmth, but from his nerves being destroyed.

The frostbite wasn’t his only symptom. William's body shivered uncontrollably. His thoughts came slowly and were becoming nonsensical. Breathing was shallow, and his heartbeat was sluggish.

“Oh my god, I am going to die out here,” William whispered through chattering teeth.

Just as he was about to collapse. Out of the endless white, a glowing ball of light emerged. It was bright blue and beckoning. William stared at the ball of light in confusion.  He wondered if he was hallucinating. The ball of light started to move away, and William felt an urge to follow.

William followed the light. He walked for a short amount of time. Then the ball of light suddenly vanished. In the distance, he could see the silhouette of a building. William nearly cried out of relief, thinking he had found the native reserve. But when he got closer, William realized the terrible truth.

It was Mark’s cabin.

“.........how,” William whispered. His voice was full of confusion and despair.

This was impossible. He had walked for two hours in the opposite direction. So how was it possible that he was back to where he had started? Before William could think about it for long, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

William would have jumped in surprise if he had the remaining energy to do so. Instead, he just turned around and saw Mark smiling at him. Mark had made no noise and completely snuck up on him.

“Couldn’t get far in all that snow, huh, William?” Mark said. He smiled softly.

Art by https://x.com/marsiltrum (thank you so much!!)

William wanted to scream out in frustration. He opened his mouth to do so, but before he could. William was suddenly overwhelmed with dizziness. His body started to sway. Before he could collapse into the snow, Mark caught him. He picked William up into a bridal carry.

“Aww, you are shivering. Poor thing. Let’s go inside and get you warmed up. Unless....so you want to try and leave again?” Mark asked. He paused. Waiting for William to choose.

“Please......I want to be warm,” William whispered. He was barely conscious and aware of what was happening at this point. All he wanted was to feel warm. Needed it.

“I knew you would make the right choice,” Mark said. His voice was full of praise. He leaned down and lightly kissed William’s forehead. Then he gently carried William back into his cabin.

One month later

Another month had passed, and William was still trapped. Every day that passed, he became more desperate to leave. Mark was crazy, and William had started to suspect he was also dangerous.

William sat on his knees in front of the toilet. His stomach was overwhelmed with nausea. Eventually, the nausea became too much, and William ended up vomiting into the toilet.

“Arghhhhhhh,” William groaned.

“I’m sorry that you are suffering,” Mark said softly and gently rubbed his back. He was right by William’s side. Like always.

“You did this to me,” William grumbled angrily and tried not to vomit again.

“I know...but just think about our child. How all of this will be worth it,” Mark said and continued to rub his back. This crazy fucking bastard was still acting like he was pregnant. William obviously couldn’t be, but it was undeniable that there was something very wrong with his body.

William was often overcome with nausea. Especially in the morning. His chest had become very tender. It, along with his stomach, was growing larger. All symptoms of pregnancy, but since that was impossible. William had come to a conclusion.

Mark was drugging him.

Causing these symptoms through drugs or hormones. Mark had to be. There was no other explanation. All to maintain his sick fantasy that William was carrying his child. It made him wonder just how far Mark was willing to go. What he would do if William went against the fantasy. The possibilities terrified him.

William had to get the fuck out of here!!!

“What are you thinking about, Sweetie? You look very upset,” Mark asked.  Voice and touches were as sweet as sugar.

“......nothing, don’t worry about it,” William said. His stomach had finally settled down, so he stood up and walked out of the bathroom.

Mark stood up as well and followed him closely. Like a shadow or a loyal dog. “Can I get you anything? Are you hungry? Warm enough?” Mark asked.

“I am fine, Mark,” William said. He desperately wanted space. To escape Mark’s obsessive and intense focus, but there was nowhere to go.

William had tried to leave the cabin numerous times at this point. But the hypothermia and frostbite always overwhelmed him. Right as he was about to collapse. The strange, glowing ball of blue light appeared. If William followed it. He was always led right back to Mark’s cabin. If he did not follow the light. William would fall unconscious and collapse into the snow. When he awoke, William was always in Mark’s bed or carried in his arms back to the cabin.

“Okay, but if you need anything, please let me know. I am going to be right by your side for every step,” Mark said. Acting like a supportive partner.

William really wanted to punch Mark or at least scream at him. But he couldn’t risk lashing out. Mark’s cabin was his only shelter against the blizzard. All his substance and warmth came from what Mark provided. He was entirely dependent on him.

“Thank you,” William said. He forced himself to smile. For now, pretending everything was okay between them was the safest option.

“Do you want to go back to bed?” Mark asked.

“Yes,” William said. He felt completely exhausted, and it was very late.

Mark seemed delighted by his answer. He followed William into the bedroom. William climbed into the bed and snuggled under the furs. Mark soon joined him.

William tried to close his eyes and ignore Mark’s presence, but that proved to be impossible. Mark wrapped his arms around William and pulled him in close. Pressing their bodies against each other. Mark also started to kiss and nuzzle his neck.

He considered demanding that Mark stop. William knew that Mark would pout but listen. He opened his mouth, ready to protest. But after a few moments, William closed his mouth. Staying silent. William wanted to be comforted and held. Craved human touch and intimacy. It just sucked that his only option was Mark.

“You make me so happy, William. I am so glad to have found you,” Mark practically purred. He continued to nuzzle and kiss him.

William did not respond. He just continued to remain silent.

“You have also given me such a wonderful gift. A child. A family. Thank you, William,” Mark said.

“......you are welcome,” William said. Biting his tongue and grinding his teeth.

Finally, Mark stopped nuzzling and kissing him. He let out a blissful sigh and went still. “Good night, William, sweet dreams,” Mark said softly. His voice was full of affection.

“Night, Mark,” William said.

Soon, William fell asleep. He did not remain asleep for long, though. During the night, he was suddenly startled awake. There was a noise; it sounded muffled but was undeniably screaming.

“What is that?” William opened his eyes and sat up. He expected Mark to still be embracing him and answer. William was greeted by silence. He turned his body and found that Mark was completely missing.

Slowly, William removed the furs from his body and left the bed. He started to investigate. The sound got louder. It sounded like someone was playing a horror movie in another room. The screams were full of terror and pain. Too real to be acting. William kept creeping through the cabin. Following the sound until he arrived at the basement door.

William shivered from the chill; it always emitted. His instincts screamed at him that he should turn around. Go back to bed and pretend that he hadn’t heard anything. He ignored his instincts. William needed to know what was going on. He lifted his hand and opened the door. Then William entered the basement.

Hello!! Thank you for reading!! Please leave a comment.
William really went from "Dam, Mark is perfect. What a hunk!" to "I need to get away from this crazy bastard."
Also....I wonder what's in the basement?
Hint: It's what Mark's been eating this entire time. His snacks.

Chapter Six: William and Rick reunite

Warnings: Human as prey, graphic descriptions of gore and violence. Corpses and injured animals. Male pregnancy. Unhealthy relationships.

William shivered as he descended the basement's steps. He reached the end and started to investigate. It was dark in the basement. He could barely see what was in front of him, but what he did see was...normal. Completely normal. There were many shelves, stocked with mason jars filled with jam and bottles of maple syrup.  That was all.

“Why would Mark want me to not come down here?” William whispered out loud to himself.

Then William heard the screaming again. It was muffled but still there. William followed the sound until he reached a particular shelf. He shivered; the temperature had dropped even further. The shelf was admitting a chill.

William stared at it, trying to figure it out. The noise and chill were coming from below. He looked down and saw a very old rug on the ground. The rest of the basement's ground was bare concrete. Peeking under the rug, he could see something wooden.

He pushed the shelf aside and then pulled away the rug. Revealing a wooden cellar door. “Jackpot,” William said. He then reached down and opened the cellar door. The temperature dropped even further.

Slowly, William descended into the cellar. What he found was not a room. Instead, it was a icy tunnel. The tunnel kept descending deep into the Earth. Impossibly deep.

William walked for a long time. He wrapped his arms around himself and kept shivering. Trying desperately to conserve his quickly depleting body heat. Finally, the tunnel ended and opened up into a massive cave.

“Holy shit,” William said. He had never seen anything like the cave before.

Icy stalactites hung from the cave's ceiling. Massive blocks of glowing blue ice were scattered around the cave floor. They provided the only light source. The screaming suddenly stopped. Everything went silent.

William started to cautiously explore the cave. He stepped as quietly as a mouse. Trying to make his presence not known. He got closer to one of the blocks of ice. William could see that something was frozen deep inside. He got even closer and let out a shocked gasp at what he discovered.

It was a deer. Perfectly preserved in the ice. William didn’t understand how the animal ended up trapped in the ice. He left the ice block behind and kept exploring. He found more frozen deer. The deer were mostly intact, but some were not. They had missing limbs or bite-sized chunks of flesh ripped from their bodies. They looked half-eaten.

Then William saw a human.

William recognized him. He was the lumberjack from the old photograph. Caucasian with black and white hair. A thick mustache and blue eyes. He was wearing clothing meant for working outside. An axe was held in his hands. Raised mid attack.

Then the lumberjack blinked.

He was alive.

“Oh....my.....god!” William said. That was impossible.

The photo was ancient. The lumberjack should have died long ago from old age. If not that, then he should have died from being frozen. William could see that the lumberjack’s chest wasn’t even rising with breath. Yet somehow the man was still alive.

William wanted to help the lumberjack, but he didn’t know how. He didn’t have any way to thaw the ice. William turned his head around. He saw even more blocks of ice filled with frozen humans. All men of varying ages, ethnicities and from different time periods. Just like the deer, somewhere men were intact. While others looked half-eaten. Another of the men he recognized.

William and Rick were reunited.

“....Rick?” William said. He took a step closer to him. Rick looked mauled. Most of his body was missing. Ripped apart. Rick did not blink; he was dead.

“Oh god,” William said. Rick hadn’t abandoned him. This entire time, he had been so close.

Before William could process how Rick had ended up frozen and eaten, or why Mark had lied to him. He heard a noise. Familiar humming, Mark. William’s instincts flared with alarm. Fight, flight or hide kicked in. Thinking quickly, William hid behind the block of ice containing Rick.

William sat down on the cold ground. Then he carefully peeked around the block of ice. Soon, Mark came into view. He was walking through the cave casually. William noticed that his chest was not rising in breath and his icy blue eyes were glowing.

Mark walked up to one of the frozen humans. A young man whose body was covered in several large bites. The ice started to rapidly thaw until the top half of the man’s body was exposed. He started to breathe. Heavy, uneven breaths. His eyes widened in terror and filled with tears.

“Please...please stop. Let me go. Or at least kill me, put me out of my misery,” the man begged.

“Sorry, but no.....prey is better fresh,” Mark said. Then he attacked.

William watched in horror as Mark bit the half-frozen man. Like a savage animal without mercy. His teeth sank into the man’s flesh easily. Like a hot knife going through butter. Mark then tore out a large chunk of the man's flesh. He chewed the flesh and then swallowed. Mark let out a small noise of satisfaction and smiled. His teeth and lips were now covered in blood and gore.

The human let out a blood-curdling scream filled with agony. Mark quickly placed a hand over the man's mouth. “Shhhhhhm, gosh, you are all being so noisy tonight. Please be quiet. I don’t want you to wake up my husband. He needs rest,” Mark shushed his prey.

The ice started to crawl up the man's flesh. Until it reached his mouth. Mark removed his hand, and the human's mouth was quickly covered in ice. Silencing him. It was obvious that Mark was controlling the ice. Bending it to his will.

Mark then attacked once again. He took another bite out of the man and then another. Slowly eating him alive. William watched the scene in complete shock. His brain was unable to understand what was happening. He was just witnessing.

Suddenly, William came back to himself. He let out a loud gasp of horror. Mark wasn’t human. Instead, he was a monster. A predator that preyed upon humans. William realized that he had never been safe with Mark. He was in terrible danger.

Mark suddenly stopped eating. He swallowed the flesh in his mouth, then turned his head towards William. William’s gasp of horror had drawn his attention.

“........William?” Mark called out. His expression turned from satisfied to anxious in a second. Ice climbed up the man's body and he was frozen again. Then Mark walked away from his prey and started to stalk towards where William was hiding.

“Are you here?” Mark called out once again.

William pulled his head away. Fully hiding behind the block of ice. He curled up around himself. Wrapping his arms around his knees and lowering his head. He attempted to make himself smaller and harder to spot.

“Sweetie...where are you?” Mark continued to call out to him.

William stayed entirely still. Mark was completely silent except when he spoke. William couldn’t hear any footsteps or breaths, but William could tell Mark was getting closer. William dreaded what would happen if he found him. Would he be frozen and eaten as well?

“It’s okay. Come out, I won’t hurt you,” Mark promised. His voice came from the other side of the ice block. He was just a breath away.

William’s entire body was tense. He held his breath. His heartbeat was frantic and fast. William could feel it push against his rib cage. Like a bird trying to escape a cage. William was sure that at any moment, Mark would find him. Then attack him without mercy. Instead, after a few moments, William felt Mark’s presence move away.

William waited for a couple of minutes. Then slowly, he peeked around the block of ice. He saw the coast was clear, so he quickly stood up and then frantically fled the cave. William successfully reached the tunnel and started to climb.

This turned out to be a struggle. The floors were covered in slippery ice. It was a lot harder to ascend than to descend. William kept slipping and falling. Then, sliding back down the tunnel. Finally, after an immense amount of time and effort. William made it to the cellar door. He climbed through it. William then fled the basement and started to run around the cabin in a panic.

“Fuck, Fuck, Fuck,” William swore repeatedly.

He grabbed the bag of supplies he always had ready. Just in case the blizzard stopped. Then William dressed himself in his winter gear as quickly as possible. Once he was fully ready, William ran to the front door. Opened it and escaped the cabin.

William stepped out into the blizzard and started to run. He didn’t even take out the compass to check which way was east. William just wanted to put as much distance between himself and Mark as possible. He ran for as long as he could, then was finally forced to stop and catch his breath.

William thought he was safe, but then he felt a hand on his shoulder.

“William....” Mark said softly. William screamed and turned around to face Mark. He shook Mark’s hand off him and quickly backed away from him.

“Why did you scream? It’s just me,” Mark asked. William did not respond. They stared at each other.

“You left without saying goodbye,” Mark said and took a step towards him. William responded by taking a step back. Mark tilted his head to the side. He looked very worried.

“Did you go into my basement? See something you weren’t supposed to? Is that why you are scared?” Mark asked. He continued to slowly approach him. William continued to respond by backing away.

“I didn’t see anything,” William lied.

“Oh, good. I don’t want you sneaking into my snack supply,” Mark chuckled nervously.

“Rick isn’t a fucking snack! He’s a person!” William shouted angrily. The idea of someone he cared about being reduced to just a snack for this monster. Completely enraged him.

“Ah, so you did go down there,” Mark said. He straightened his head, stopped breathing, and his eyes started to glow. No longer hiding the fact that he wasn’t human.

“Oh.........shit,” William swore. He realized that Mark had purposely made him angry. Baiting him into revealing the truth. William’s anger was snuffed out. Like a lit match thrown into an icy lake. Replaced by pure terror.

“Don’t worry, I am not mad at you. Just disappointed. Now, let's go home, okay? It’s cold out here,” Mark said and reached out towards him. William turned his back on Mark and ran away.

William ran for a long time, until he was forced to stop once again. His breathing was ragged, and his muscles screamed in protest. William’s eyes frantically scanned the environment. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw that he was alone. That relief did not last long.

“There is no need to run away from me. I am completely harmless to you,” Mark said. William turned his head and saw Mark emerge from the darkness and blizzard.

“Bullshit! You eat people!” William shrieked and pointed an accusatory finger at Mark.

“I won’t eat you if that’s what you are worried about. You are different,” Mark said softly.

“How am I different? Why would you kill Rick but play house with me?” William continued to shout. He hoped that if he kept Mark talking, then he could get a rest. Recover some of his energy and then run away again.

“I have waited so long for someone compatible with me. Someone like you. William, you are perfect.” Mark said. He sounded so dam happy, it was sickening.

“I don’t understand? How the hell are we compatible?” William asked.

“You are male, gay and the submissive role. All the other males I have encountered were either straight or dominant.” Mark explained.

“Are you seriously saying that you didn’t eat me because I'm a bottom?” William said. It was so absurd.

“You are also cute, soft and warm. I like you. So very much.” Mark said. He slightly blushed.

“.…..this can’t be real” William said. His voice was full of disbelief. He couldn’t believe that this was his life. That a Canadian cryptid liked him. That he had sex with a monster. What the hell!

“You are meant to be my husband! To bear my children!” Mark said. His eyes glowed even brighter and sparkled with excitement. His smile was wide. William could still see blood on his teeth.

You are fucking insane!” William swore. Then he turned his back on Mark and ran away. Once again, Mark did not chase him. It was very unsettling how he just let William go. Like he knew he wasn’t getting away.

This time, William ran for a while and then tried to hide. He sat down behind a large evergreen pine. Took a moment to pull out his bag and grab his bottle of water. Only to find it was half frozen. He let out an annoyed groan and tried to take a sip. Before he could, Mark suddenly poked his head around the tree and looked down at William with a smile.

“FUCK!” William screamed out in surprise and alarm. He quickly crawled backwards away from Mark.

“You seem... upset about bearing my children. I don’t understand why. You said you wanted kids,’ Mark asked. He looked very sad. Was giving William his classic puppy dog eyes.

“I can’t get pregnant!” William screamed out in frustration.

“Oh, William, you already are,” Mark smirked. He looked proud of himself.

The way Mark said it. With absolute certainty. Sent a shiver down William’s spine. He was reminded that William was not dealing with a human being. But instead, a monster with supernatural abilities. William had no idea what Mark was capable of.

“How?” William asked.

“Okay, please don’t be mad, but I modified your body a little. Just enough to create a place for my seed to grow,” Mark confessed.

William was quiet for a long time. He thought about the glowing blue food and tea. The strange feeling of his organs shifting and cramping. How, after they had sex, William started experiencing pregnancy symptoms.

Fuck

Oh

FUCK

Was he actually pregnant?

“We are going to be a family,” Mark said. He sounded very excited. His smirk turned back to a soft smile.

“So....you aren’t going to freeze me?” William asked. He was still trying to process the fact that he was pregnant. But for now, William felt a flash of hope that Mark really wasn’t going to at least hurt him.

“Well....yes,” Mark admitted.

His hope was gone instantly. William frantically stood up. Turned his back on Mark and once again ran away.

“Wait! I won’t freeze you for a very long time. Also, I won’t eat you. Just preserve you. Please stop running away!” Mark called after him.

For hours, they ended up in a game of cat and mouse. William kept running away. Whenever he stopped, Mark would appear. He never tried to grab or capture William. Mark just spoke softly and smiled.

“You have been outside long enough, right? Are you ready to come home?”

“You are shivering. Must be so cold. If you come home, then I will make you some soup and hot chocolate. Warm you up. How does that sound?”

“I promise to be a good dad to our child. A good husband to you. Our family will be happy.”

“William, please stop being so stubborn. You are just hurting yourself for no reason. If you keep this up, you are going to lose some fingers and toes from frostbite.”

Eventually, William’s body started to fail him. He had used up too much energy. Been out in the cold for far too long. He kept collapsing into the snow. Whenever he did, Mark got close and stood over him. He reached out towards him. Going to pick William up. This caused adrenaline to surge through William’s veins. He quickly scrambled back up and then continued to run away.

Finally, William could continue no further. There was only so much a human body could endure. Even adrenaline and pure terror couldn’t move him anymore. William laid in the snow. His thoughts were hazy, and his toes and fingers were burning. His breathing was ragged and his heartbeat sluggish. William sensed movement above him. He slowly looked up and saw that Mark was staring down at him with a wide smile.

“Please....let me go,” William pleaded. Completely helpless and at Mark’s mercy.

“Go where?” Mark asked.

“Home. I want to go home,” William said. He wanted out of this nightmare. To just go home.

“Of course, Sweetie,” Mark said.

Mark then gently picked William up and held him in a bridal carry. Mark walked through the snow without leaving any footprints. He glided over the snow. Like a ghost.

William closed his eyes. Mark spoke softly to him.

“It’s okay, William. Everything is going to be okay. I promise to take good care of you. We are going to be such a happy family. I love you,” Mark said. His voice was full of pure joy and affection. William felt an icy pair of lips on his forehead. Then William fell unconscious.
