Chapter Text
The Garden.
It was so beautiful.
It spread miles upon miles.
The sun glowed so bright.
The grass was the purest of green.
The animals in their natural habitat.
And Lilith.
Sweet, beautiful, kind Lilith.
He could see her waiting for him.
Smiling her wonderful smile at him.
She reached her hand out towards him.
He reached out for hers.
And as they were about to-
*GASP*
Adam sucked in as much oxygen could as he felt his body jumpstart with life.
He lifted himself up and felt his vision come back to him.
He was surrounded by rubble and other dead bodies.
They looked like they were exorcists.
Slowly his memories started coming back to him.
He had died.
Killed to be more specific.
Lucifer, his daughter Charlie, and her friends managed to defeat them.
He thought he would be pissed off, angry, rageful.
Instead, he felt…
Cold?
…
…..
…….
………..
No.
He sensed a charge.
A potential.
A recursive impulse.
Unpleasant, but…
“Cold” wasn’t its name.
He then started to hear voices, perhaps singing, coming towards his direction.
He wasn’t sure why, but he felt the best action was to flee.
He quickly snagged a long blanket that he wrapped around himself when he realized he was also naked.
He made his way into the city, hiding in an alley, away from prying eyes.
Here he was.
In Hell.
The Pride Ring where Lucifer resided.
Away from Heaven.
Away from his Father.
Away from his son.
Away from Lute.
Away from Lilith.
Where had it all gone wrong?
He saw a broken mirror on the ground and picked it up to look at himself.
He looked the same as he did when he died.
But now white streaks ran through his hair.
And his eyes…
They looked as though they were kaleidoscopes.
He looked down at his hands.
He could sense newfound energy pulsating through them.
What type of energy? He wasn’t sure yet.
It was different than what his powers were before.
It felt pure. A different pure from Heaven, but pure nonetheless.
“Adam.”
He froze.
He recognized that voice.
It came to him as a whisper but he knew that voice anywhere.
Lilith.
But how? Why?
She should still be in Heaven.
Unless…
“Adam.”
The voice was louder this time, as if wanting him to follow it.
He silently made his through the streets and observed the sinners.
How they cheated and swindled each other.
How one assaulted the other just for looking at them the wrong way and even pulling out a gun if needed.
Normally, it would have made Adam sick.
He would have viewed this people with disgust.
But now?
Now, he was just sad.
He pitied them.
Never would they be allowed to see the Garden as he once did.
He failed them.
He failed all of them.
“Sorry Scarlet! Hope you had fun, but we used just about everything we could with you.” A sinner with a TV-Shaped head said as he brought a bug-like female sinner out of a building. “Time to bother someone else.”
“But...but you said I was special. That I had star potential.” Scarlet said nervously.
“You did. But now people have changed the channel, pun intended.” The TV man said with a sneer. “Newsflash! You’re worthless! So do us all a favor and get the fuck off my property.” He said callously as he pushed her away.
“But I don’t have anywhere to go! You said you’d take care of me!” Scarlet said as tears started to leak from her eyes.
“Not my problem.” The TV man said dismissively, not even bothering to look at her.
“Vox, please!” She begged as she grabbed his arm.
Only to for him to give her a slap to face with his backhand.
“BITCH! Who the fuck do you think you are?!” Vox screamed with rage as his screen glitched. “You’re just another wannabe cunt who couldn’t make it like real stars! So do us all a favor and go wait for the exorcists to kill you in a ditch somewhere.” He said venomously.
Scarlett broke down in tears as she quickly ran away, Vox laughing his way back into his building.
Such vulgarity, such violence.
It broke Adam’s heart.
“Adam.”
The voice spoke again, it was directing him towards the woman.
So he followed her.
…
She ended up in a flatland away from the city, sobbing as she felt used up.
She gave them everything, and they still threw her aside.
Soon she heard others approaching her.
They were addies.
Sinners who were addicts in their mortal life, doing anything by any means to get their fix, even if it involved killing.
They slowly came towards her, all twitchy and tweaking.
“Oooh! She’s a pretty one.” One addie said.
“Could sell her to an imp! They give us a fair price!” Another addie said, jittery from withdrawal.
Scarlet could felt her fear rising up.
She didn’t want this. She didn’t want any of this.
She knew she screwed up in life, but it wasn’t worth this.
She wanted it to go away.
She just wanted to be free.
And as the addies were about to pounce on her, they all noticed someone approaching.
He was wrapped up in a blue robe or blanket of sorts.
“Well lookie here! Another one!” An addie said.
“We could sell him as a bonus!” Another addie said.
But he simply ignored them, just making his way towards Scarlet.
She stepped back in fear. “Stay back!” She said, thinking he would hurt her.
But the sinner didn’t seem offended, he just looked at her with sympathy.
“So much senseless pain.” He said softly.
Scarlet’s eyes widen in shock.
She never heard anyone talk to her so kindly before, not even by those who used her.
It was enough to let her guard down a bit.
The addies were curious about this individual as well, never have they seen a sinner like this before.
As he stopped just a couple feet away from her, he slowly lifted his hand up and hovered it towards her face.
“W-What are you…” She started to ask timidly and yet she didn’t back away either.
Energy started to surge around his hand, his eyes started to glow a bright blue.
And then suddenly, he latched onto her head, and a shockwave exploded around them.
The addies covered their faces as wind and dust blew in their faces, energy pulsating around them.
Those who could see what was happening could see the woman’s being enveloped in light.
Reforming her, changing her.
Suddenly the light spread all over them and soon vanished within a second.
Once their vision cleared up, they saw the woman fall to her knees.
And she was…
…different.
Her skin was pink and pasty.
Gone were her bug-like feature and instead replaced with real limbs.
Her eyes kaleidoscopes but wide with awe.
A strange chrome pattern weaved its way along her arm and leg.
And those strange chrome patterns laid upon her forehead as well, five fingerprints exactly on the spot where the stranger had touched her.
She almost looked as if she was human again.
She moved her hands around her face, taking in her new features.
She could feel new life breath in her, it was like she was reborn.
New tears starting to spring from her eyes.
The individual who did this kneeled before her and gave her a small smile of reassurance.
“H-How…” She tried to say, but her voice was too overcome with emotion.
“You need not suffer, anymore.” He said to not just her, but to addies around her.
The addies were flabbergasted to say the least.
It was like they witnessed a miracle.
And in Hell, you don’t get those.
It caused them to collapse to their knees.
Maybe, just maybe, they could hope again.
Scarlet cried tears of joy as she looked at the man with love and admiration.
To the unseen eye, Adam saw a hand make its way onto Scarlet’s shoulder.
That hand belonging to Lilith, who gave Adam an approving smile.
Adam smiled back at her, now knowing for certain that this is what he must do.
He would give those a second chance in life as he himself had been given.
He would free them from their pain and their sinful needs and would enlighten them.
They would evolve.
They would all see the Garden again.
To Be Continued…
So this is an idea I had swirling around in my head for a bit after season 1 of Hazbin Hotel ended.
I thought it be interesting to see Adam take on Viktor’s arc in season 2 of Arcane and have the Hazbin Hotel crew react to it.
Initially I didn’t know where to take it but with season 2 out now, I have a good idea where to go but I’m going to wait until the season finale comes out before I proceed any further.
As for Scarlet, she’s that woman who was manipulated by the Vees during the Trust Us song of the season 2 premiere of Hazbin Hotel. I figured what happened with her would make her more open to Adam’s kindness and allow him to “evolve” her.
Also, this is primarily a Hazbin Hotel fanfic, it just has elements of Arcane going on. No characters from that show will show up, just this one.
Anyway, hope you like so far! Comment and tell me what you think!
