Chapter Text
In a universe of light and dark, where time reflects infinitely…
The Legend of Ichinose… A legend from the dawn of time. Nobody knows where the world came from. A struggle caused the Trinity of Realities to be split into three realms: light, darkness, and chaos. Obviously, our world was the one born from chaos. The three worlds all needed rulers. Most of all, ours. And the one that ruled the chaos became known as Ichinose.
Ichinose spent the first eternity quietly looking upon the Earth from her holy mountain. Where we only see reality and make it match our rules of the world, Ichinose saw through reality, and those visions became our world. These observations became Ichinose’s power. Her eyes were truly the eyes that created the world.
However, Ichinose pitied the humans for their naivety and lack of free will, so the power she wielded was split into two equal halves and entrusted each to humanity’s instincts: the Right Eye of Light, and the Left Eye of Darkness. By dividing the power of the eyes of Ichinose, humans gained free will… They could now choose. With control of the Eyes of the World, the eyes that determine destiny, humans could choose their own paths. They awoke to their own identities. Man is but a reed, the most feeble thing in nature, but now we were thinking reeds, and we took our first big step towards grand prosperity. The inheritors of the eyes of Ichinose had been granted the power of creation.
Present Day
In a forest far from man, there rested the remains of Yaldabaoth after they crashed to Earth. It would be some time before anyone discovered them, as the damaged area was quite small in comparison to what it could’ve been. As far as the authorities were aware, the only casualties were some trees and the ground that had been carved into by the head. There were no signs of any person having been there, and naturally, they would assume no one had been. No one would learn that that was not the case.
Lying in the dirt just a few feet away from Yaldabaoth’s head was a woman fallen from grace. Her robes, once fit for an empress, were torn, dirty, and even bloody in some places. Her ivory white hair fell about her in a tangled mess. There was nothing left of the powerful CEO of the Ithavoll Group and the leader of the Ragna Church. All she had left was her name: Akiko.
Akiko struggled to sit up and get to her feet; her body protesting this simple movement. It seemed to finally be giving out on her after all these centuries. She tried to stand, but she suddenly gasped and jerked back. A blue light surrounded her body. On her back it formed into a figure that tried to pull away from her, clawing at the sky. Akiko gritted her teeth, a fire in her steel-colored eyes burning away the exhaustion that had been present there mere seconds ago.
“You will not escape this fate!” She growled at the entity as she reached into her robes, pulling out her monocle. “We will perish together!” She placed the monocle over her eye and, calling on the last of her power, sealed the entity back into her body in a golden burst of light. When it was done, her arms fell to her sides and she collapsed onto the ground. Akiko’s vision blurred, but in her mind’s eye, she could see two male figures, almost identical to each other, in the distance. One was walking away from her while the other came towards her. Something in her heart healed seeing the approaching figure, but she couldn’t help but gaze after the retreating one.
“My dear, sweet child,” she whispered, her voice little more than a rasp, “At last, you have fulfilled your promise to me. “Fear not, for I am always watching over you…” As Akiko’s eyes fluttered closed and her voice trailed off, her body dissolved into golden light, fading away in the sun’s rays.
But the Right Eye of Light was lost from the world forever, along with its possessor,
The last of the Lumen Sages.
