Work Text:

Another work day passing brought a new wave of stress. Jasper was used to it by now. Being a high school teacher meant learning to endure tons of stress. She had her ways to deal with it however.

Being a Friday, that meant Jasper could go to her favorite bar, get a couple of drinks and maybe find a beautiful woman to spend the night with. Of course this was only after she graded papers, checked emails and tutored until the sky turned gray.

When walking to the bar, a lady walked in right behind her. Jasper was surprised but held the door open for the woman, and for a small moment their eyes met.

“Thank you dear!” The lady said before entering the building. “Mind if we have a drink together?” The lady asked with a bright smile on her face. Jasper built up the courage to look at the woman in her eyes. Something was different about this woman. An ethereal aura radiated from her, unlike anything Jasper’s ever felt before. The lady before Jasper’s eyes almost towered above her. Her eyes were a deep dark brown paired with long flowing jet black hair.

“Hello, um, I’m sorry…” Jasper said with flustering cheeks, “I’d love to have a drink with you.” She tried so hard to not embarrass herself in front of a pretty lady like this, but her body language was shit at hiding her embarrassment.

The beautiful woman chuckled with her hand over her mouth. “Aww sweetheart, you’re adorable!” she said, “My name's Emery, some call me Emmy though. May I know yours?”

“Jasper...”

Emery tilted her head slightly, “You must not be one for talking? Hmm, how about we have a seat together?”

When they sit down they both order their drinks. Emery hid her face whenever she took a sip of her drink to hide her disgust of the beverage, much to Jasper's confusion.

After some time in silence Emery decided to spark up a conversation. “Sooo…What do you like to do? Sorry if I'm irritating you, I can tell you’re not much for conversation.”

“I’m sorry, I just…” Jasper begins fidgeting on the table. “I like watching cartoons. Plus I’m a teacher so if you wanna talk about physics that could be fun.”

Emery’s face lit up once cartoons were mentioned. “Oh I love animated shows! I like to binge some of my favorites during the day.”

“It’s really the best thing to do after long days.” Jasper said with a smile.

Emery put her hand on top of Jasper’s, “Watching some with you doesn’t sound like a bad idea then hm?” She said, forcing a blush from Jasper.

“Yeah…that would be great...” Jasper said, lowering her head in embarrassment.

“Oh apologies, did I mess you up dear? You were doing so good! I'm deeply sorry.” She grabbed Jasper's chin, pulling her head back up. “Your eyes are so pretty, I could sense that you were afraid to look at mine. It’s a shame, I like seeing yours.”

“Thanks, Emmy…”

Emery slowly removed her hand from Jasper’s chin. “You’re quite welcome, Perry. Is Perry okay?”

Jasper nodded.

Emery continues “I recall you being a teacher. I used to teach. I taught literature though, so that’s where our similarity ends.”

“Why did you stop?” Jasper asked.

“I used to protest a lot during a specific crisis. I eventually got fired once I was found out. I'm ashamed to admit it but I’m kinda glad I was fired. Teaching was so stressful, I’m sure you would know.”

“Oh don’t even…I could go on an entire rant about how stressful working in education is.” Jasper 's eyes drifted back to the side, much to Emery’s dismay.

“What did you do after you stopped anyway?” Jasper asked

Emery’s face lighted up, ”Well after I was fired I learned pottery. My shop is open everyday, aside from friday, from 6pm to midnight. I’d love to show you one day! Maybe I could give you one of my pieces.”

Jasper brought her eyes back to Emery’s, this time without any fear. “I’d be grateful if you did.” She said with a smile.

“Perry, you’re great to talk to.” Emery said, resting her hand on Jasper’s. “I’d love to talk with you more elsewhere. How about it?”

“At your place?” Asked Jasper.

“Hell no. I keep my place too messy.” Emery clearly was hiding something, anyone could tell from the way she looked down when saying it. Especially since she spoke with such confidence before the matter.

Jasper was more than ready to invite Emery to her apartment, so she didn’t question it. “How about you come over to my place then?” Jasper’s invitation puts an unusual smile on Emery’s face. Emery covered the smile quickly but it didn’t go unnoticed.

When heading to the apartment, Jasper felt weary of Emery. Perhaps she was too blinded by Emery’s beauty. Which was weird, she never felt this way for other women she’s been with. Yet the thought of danger stayed on the back of her mind.

Maybe Emery did want to kill her? There were plenty of signs. That smile was more than enough evidence. Plus who on earth genuinely could like Jasper or enjoy her company. There was a reason she didn’t have anyone to talk to. Every girl she’s talked with seemed to be disinterested or annoyed when talking with her. Nobody talked to her as nice as Emery, so that woman clearly was hiding something, Jasper could feel it. By now all she wanted to do was fall on the floor and cry. Of course the most beautiful woman she met would lie about being interested in her. Perhaps she was fine with being killed, but why lie to her!? At least then she’d be killed without the false promise of finding a friend, or someone to love.

Emery could tell something was wrong with Jasper by feeling her hand. She knew Jasper might have her own issues the second she saw her. Jasper’s perpetually tired eyes, or the void Emery could sense in her heart.

“Whats wrong, dear? I can tell something’s up.”

Jasper sighed.

“Perry please. I know something is wrong, I can help. You’re a great person from the time we talked. I really want to spend time with you. But I can’t if you’re like this.”

“Fuck, I knew it…” Jasper begins to tear up. “You don’t really like me, no real person would be this nice to me. You’re already finding out the worst out of me and you’re not even at my place yet.”

“Oh I understand.” Emery said. She’s met a few anxious people like Jasper. They used to be exhausting to talk to, but Emery was used to it by now. The problem is how hard it is to show someone like Jasper that they were truly loved. “Look I don’t know how I can prove it to you but, I do think you’re an interesting person. I really do.”

Jasper had her doubts. By now she couldn’t look Emery in the eyes, despite being able to an hour ago. “I’m sorry but don’t believe you.”

Emery sighed, “That’s fine, I completely understand.”

“I messed up didn’t I, Emery? I’m so sorry.”

“Oh Perry…You’re so- not that you’re making me mad but…Hey aren’t we almost at your apartment.” Emery took hold of Jasper’s hand to calm her down. “Let's just have a great night together okay? Let's forget about all of this and enjoy our time together.”

Jasper nods, “l’ll try.”

After a couple more minutes of walking they finally reached Jasper’s apartment. The apartment wasn’t the greatest looking. A modest sized kitchen next to a beige couch sat in front of a medium sized tv.

Jasper allowed Emery to get comfortable on her couch while she looked through her pantry. After a minute of looking around she decided what to make.

“Uh, Emmy, do you want rice?” Jasper asked.

“Rice? I don’t know, not really hungry.”

“C’mon it will be something to eat while we watch tv.” Whined Jasper.

“Well uhh, white rice is bland and stuff.” Emery said, beginning to relax deeper into the couch.

“I enjoy the blandness. If you think hard enough it tastes sweet.”

Emery sighed, “Oh darling, that's so depressing…But uh no shame though! If you like it, that's all that matters!”

Jasper ignored Emery’s lack of appetite for now. She couldn’t tell if Emery’s over efforts to not make her sad was suspicious or not. She really wanted to have a good night with someone, which meant trusting Emery.

Once Jasper got the rice cooking she sat by Emery on her couch. She could feel the back of her neck tense a little when she sat down but the feeling went away once she was close to Emery.

“Any shows in particular you wanna watch?” Jasper asked.

“It’s your place, just put on anything, I’ve probably watched it.” Replied Emery.

Jasper nodded and leaned on Emery’s shoulder while picking out a show. Eventually she landed on a show about an anthropomorphic movie star horse.

“Oh I love this show!” Emery said, “It's so hilarious, but so sad at the same time.”

“Oh you watched this?” Jasper asked, looking up at Emery.

Emery looked back down at Jasper, “I have a lot of time, like an unfathomable amount.”

“Not many people are interested in the stuff I like.” Jasper said with an intense blush.

“We’ll, Perry, it’s great we found each other then.”

Jasper slowly smiled in reaction to Emery’s words. The moment could have been amazing if Emery had been more attentive to how she smiled in response.

In Emery’s joy she accidentally unwrapped her top lip from her teeth, revealing two elongated canines. She tried to close her mouth but Jasper immediately noticed and jumped away from Emery.

Jasper immediately jumped from the couch, faster than Emery could say, “Shit! Perry, darling, I can explain!”

“I knew you were trying to kill me, you monster!” Jasper cried as she jolted towards the kitchen. She scrambled for a knife in a drawer as Emery slowly approached the kitchen. If Jasper wanted to survive this she’d have to do something quick. If Emery was what Jasper thought she was, and old fairy tales were to be trusted…with nothing else to try, Jasper picked up the rice cooker and spilled all of its contents on the floor.

Emery let out a frustrated yell as she began to inhumanly quickly and meticulously count every individual rice grain, allowing Jasper time to escape.

Jasper sprinted to her bedroom completely ignoring all knife safety rules, before hiding beside her bed. Her heart pumped with a ferocity she’s never known before as she awaited her death. The rice only was there to prolong her death, and from what Jasper could hear the rice wasn't enough.

Emery must have been great at counting because it was only a couple of minutes before Jasper could hear the woman’s loud footsteps. How the hell did she even count that fast?

But as Emery’s footsteps got louder Jasper felt…strange. An odd wave of calmness and euphoria flowed through Jasper’s body, unlike anything she’s felt before. Maybe this wouldn’t be a bad death. Emery was the most beautiful woman she’s seen. Perhaps she was lucky to be bled dry by such elegance…

“C’mon Perry! I promise I'm not here to hurt you.” Emery said as she approached the door. “Look, don't be alarmed, I’m coming in.”

Emery slowly opened Jasper’s bedroom door only to see a quivering Jasper clutching a knife as tight as possible.

Emery sighed, “What the hell are you doing?”

“Watch out, this knife’s made of silver!” Jasper lied.

“Oh is it now?” Emery said as she came closer.

“Come closer and I’ll cut you like a fucking string!” Jasper yelled. Unfortunately for her, Emery didn’t listen. Emery tried to gently take hold of Jasper’s hand but as promised, she was immediately sliced by the blade.

When Emery showed zero reaction to the attack, Jasper sat up and plunged the knife into Emery’s neck. Emery’s only response to sigh and roll her eyes. There really was no way out of this, Jasper was as good as dead. She closed her eyes accepting fate, but it never came.

Emery attempted to reason with Jasper, “Look, Perry, I had a great time with you. It would be a shame for it all to be ruined just because I happen to be a vampire.” She said as she yanked the knife out her throat and set it to the floor.

Emery leaned down to be on Jasper’s level, “C’mon dear.” She took Jasper’s hand to bring her up, “Let’s bring all this to a satisfactory conclusion. Forget about all that happened and be with me tonight, Okay?”

“Okay…I trust you…” Jasper said.

Emery gently brought her hand towards Jasper's cheek. Jasper flinched at first causing Emery to pull back her hand. “Everything’s gonna be okay dear?” Emery said as she brought her hand back to Jasper's cheek. This time Jasper let it happen. As Jasper felt Emery’s firm hand she looked Emery in the eyes, then took her attention to Emery’s lips.

Emery slowly pulled Jasper’s face to hers and closed her eyes. Jasper was ready but suddenly pulled away.

“Emmy, you’re not gonna like, bite my tongue off right?”

Jasper giggled, “I could have killed you so long ago, dear! I thought you trusted me?”

“I do it’s just, I watched this movie- screw it just kiss me…”

That’s all Emery had to hear to lean back in. Jasper never shared a kiss with someone as good as Emery. Perhaps it was the hundreds of years she’s been alive for. Well she didn’t actually know how old Emery was, but clearly Emery knew a thing or two about kissing.

Something about Emery’s lips felt strange and undead, yet Jasper didn’t care. Emery’s lips just felt so perfect wrapped around hers. Oh how Jasper wished for this moment to last forever, but nothing truly is.

Emery broke the kiss, leaving Jasper with a pitiful pout on her face.

“See? you can trust me.” Emery said, her hand still on Jasper’s cheek. “May I sit on your bed, darling?” Emery politely asked with a grin.

“Yes, Emmy you may.”

Emery positioned herself on the edge of Jasper’s bed and tapped her hand on her thigh. “Wanna take a seat, Perry?”

Jasper sighed before having a slight grin, “I can't believe I'm about to do this with a vampire…” She said as she approached Emery.

Emery took a glance at Jasper’s body as she was approached. “Before you do, maybe you should take your clothes off?”

“Good point.” Jasper said, scratching her head. Jasper quickly removed her sweater, shirt, and jeans before she took off her bra and underwear.

Emery bit her lip with her sharp canines but stopped as she came to a realization, “wait, I don’t want my leggings all wet and ruined.” She said with her hand extended.

Jasper waited and watched as Emery pulled down her leggings. Time slowed down for Jasper as she patiently waited for Emery’s leggings off. She thought she would be ready to sit on Emery’s lap but when it was time Jasper hesitated before slowly inching towards the vampire.

Emery noticed her hesitation “I don’t bite Perry. Well I do if you want me to~” She said, causing Jasper to blush as she finally sat on Emery’s lap. “I can’t wait to make this little rose of yours bloom, Perry.”

Jasper was completely ready to have her clit touched and kneaded by Emery’s fingers but Emery wanted to make her wait. Perhaps a little get-back for how patient Emery had to be earlier tonight.

Emery licked Jasper's neck and lovingly massaged Jasper’s inner thigh. She played with Jasper’s hair with one hand and touched the outside of Jasper’s labia with the other.

Jasper was beginning to grow impatient, Emery could tell. Jasper began to move on Emery’s leg, no care in the world as her fluids soaked Emery.

Emery couldn’t help but giggle at Jasper's desperation. “So impolite.” She said, “You’ve waited enough, I’ll deliver.”

Jasper loudly sighed when she felt Emery’s firm fingers on her clit. She caught herself as she was gonna make another sound, putting her hand over her mouth.

“No, don't do that dear.” Emery said as she pulled Jasper’s hand away.

Jasper couldn’t handle the motions Emery did on her clit. “Emmy! Oh Emmy!” Jasper squealed.

“Yes dear?” Emery responded.

“Bite me! Fucking bite me like the bag of blood I am!” Demanded Jasper.

Emery didn’t need to be asked twice. She sunk one fang into Jasper’s shoulder as she circled faster around Jasper’s throbbing clit. Her warm blood began gushing out her shoulder, staining Emery’s shirt. That was all Jasper needed as she climaxed and spilled all her fluids on Emery’s leg.

Jasper took time to catch her breath as Emery removed her fang from Jasper’s shoulder. When Jasper could feel again she immediately turned around and pushed Emery fully onto the bed.

“Can I get a turn?” Jasper asked.

Emery chuckled, “Of course you can.”

Jasper immediately went down on her knees to the side of the bed. She rubbed Emery’s legs hanging on the edge of the bed before she spread them open. Jasper left Emery with no time to wait as she immediately began eating Emery out.

Emery wasn’t expecting Jasper to be so skilled at flicking her tongue, the moans she let out showed. She wanted to look Jasper in the eyes as she did her thing, but Jasper’s eyes remained shut as she licked Emery like a salt rock.

Jasper moved her tongue slowly so Emery could feel every single inch of her love. When her tongue got tired she engulfed Emery’s clit with her mouth and pecked at it with her tongue.

Eventually Jasper got back on the bed to be on top of Emery. She began to use her hand on Emery’s pussy while they stared into each other's eyes. She put her fingers inside of Emery while her thumb rested on Emery’s clit.

“Perry, baby, You’re doing- great! I just…need one thing!” Emery said

“Tell me Emmy!”

“Put your arm to my mouth, I need to bite something! Please Perry!”

Jasper immediately obeyed, “As you wish!” She put her arm directly in front of Emery’s mouth and Emery immediately sunk both her fangs into Jasper’s forearm. Jasper’s blood started spilling on Emery’s neck then flowing down to stain her shirt even more.

Emery was so close, she could have bit Jasper’s entire skin off but she had to stop herself. She unlatched her fangs from Jasper’s arm and allowed Jasper to keep going.

After a few moments Emery finally let go and squirmed all on Jasper’s hand.

“Oh perry that was great, so great!” Emery said, unable to take her eyes off Jasper. She was so focused on looking at Jasper that she forgot what she did to her. It was only after a quick glance to the side that she noticed blood still leaking from Jasper’s shoulder.

“Oh, Perry, I'm so sorry! Let me get you a band-aid.” Emery gently moved Jasper out of the way so she could get bandages out her purse and return to the bedroom.

“I’m so sorry, are you hurt darling?” Emery asked as she entered the room.

Jasper was laid down in her own bed by the time Emery was back, her blood staining the sheets. “It’s okay Emmy, I'm fine.”

“You’re still kinda bleeding, let me help you.” Emery said as she took out three band-aids. She carefully aligned the pads of the bandages on each bite area left on Jasper then rubbed Jasper’s arm for good measure.

By now the two were so tired. Jasper was feeling the effects of having her blood drawn by now. She wanted nothing more than to just rest beside Emery.

Emery could tell Jasper was tired. She laid beside Jasper and wrapped her arms around her tightly.

“Hey Perry?”

“Yes Emmy?” Jasper responded.

“Even though you attacked me, you’re very sweet. I'd like to get to know you more.” After Emery said that she immediately passed out. Jasper quickly followed without much thought.

When morning arrived Jasper woke up to Emery panicking about something.”

“You okay?” Jasper asked.

“Oh you’re awake.” Emery said, “Look, don't be alarmed, but I can’t leave.”

“Why not?” Jasper asked before realizing, “Ohh it’s daytime.”

“But I guess on the bright side, I’ll get to know you better.” Emery said as she calmed her pacing.

“I don’t know… I’m scared you’ll hate me.” Jasper said as she laid back down.

“We’ve been over this, Perry!” Emery sighed, “Why are you so damn depressing to talk to?

“I'm sorry. I didn’t mean to make you mad. This is what I was talking about.” Jasper said.

Emery attempted to comfort Jasper, “No no I’m not mad! Did it seem that way?”

“You clearly are.” Jasper said with a sigh.

Emery went to the bed to lay beside Jasper. “You’re so insistent that I hate you… Is there anything I could do to make you believe otherwise?”

“Not really.”

Emery thought for a while. There had to be some way to make Jasper believe her…

“Why don’t we make a pact…a promise to love each other. It would be wrong to do it now, but give it eight months time and we can be bound together.” Emery took Jasper’s hand before she continued. “Please Perry, I…I love you. When we talked yesterday night, All I wanted to do was leave behind my life of vampirism and finally be in love with someone. I admit, I planned on killing you for a meal, but I’m sick of going home with different women just to feed on them!”

“So I was right in my distrust…” Jasper said as she moved her hand away from Emery’s. “You really think it’s a good idea? Getting into a relationship with someone guaranteed to die before you?”

A tear flowed down Emery’s cheek, “I’m sorry…I’ll be out of your life as soon as the sun sets, Perry…”

“Can you turn me?” Jasper asked.

“Huh?” Responded Emery. That was the last thing she expected to hear.

Jasper turned around to face Emery. “I decided I want to be with you. You said all this about me. I have to believe it’s true. But if we’re to be together, I can’t let my death be a way out for you.” she said.

Emery was hesitant, “We’ve only known each other for just a night darling. Becoming a vampire, it’s serious stuff. You would have to quit your job like me.”

“You don’t have to turn me today. We can try this relationship thing. Like you said, eight or so months, maybe a year. Just to see if we actually like each other. I’m up for whatever pacts you wanna make too.” Jasper said.

“So…should we go on a date tonight then?” Emery asked.

“Why do that? You’re here, aren’t you? I’ll order us food and we can watch movies.”

Emery looked towards Jasper in disappointment, “You knew that I have to count spilled grain but not that I can’t eat food?”

“Oh sorry I forgot…Wait hold on, I thought you were fired from your job?”

“Oh yeah I kinda lied. I quit my job. I actually was at a protest. The sun set by the time it was over so I was able to get turned by a girl I was talking to later that night. Very long story.”

When Emery finished explaining she looked back at Jasper only to see her staring off to space.

“Did you hear anything I just said?” Emery asked.

Jasper immediately was pulled back to earth, “Oh sorry I was just thinking…”

“About what?”

“Pacts, and turning…It's all so much. But at least I have a year to think about it.” Jasper said as stood up off the bed and stretched.

“We’ll have to see then.” Emery said, “For now, I look forward to getting to know you.”

After that the year went by quicker than ever. Emery always made time to visit Jasper’s apartment at night. Jasper found so much about Emery and herself as the year passed. After a while Jasper truly believed she was loved, she finally could finally trust someone.

There was only one problem. The thought of the promise the two made sat at the back of Jasper's mind. Would she be ready? What if she wasn’t turned correctly. What if the pact ritual went wrong?

As the days went on and the date inched closer more fear of the event flooded Jasper’s thoughts. Emery had her fears too. Should she really be in this much power over Jasper?

When the day came Jasper still was hesitant. Emery told her she didn’t have to do this but by now Jasper was too in love. She knew she would be ready, now she just had to meet up with Emery.

They agreed to meet in Emery’s basement for the ritual to begin. They both brought a material object of most importance to her. Emery brought the first pot she ever designed and Jasper brought her Newton's cradle.

“Thats your most important object?” Emery asked.

Jasper scratched her bead. “Yeah, I like to look at it go when I'm anxious. It got me through a lot of stuff…”

“Okay that will work then.” Emery said as she immediately smashed her pot on the floor. Jasper tried to break her object of importance but it was metal and hard to bend. Emery sighed and took the cradle from Jasper and bent it with ease.

Emery then had Jasper remove all of her clothes before telling her to lay atop the pentagram drawn on the cold floor.

“Are you ready?” Emery asked, "I'm going to cut into you, it might hurt a lot.”

Jasper nodded, “So, will the pact make it so we can’t fall out of love?” She asked, “Not that I plan on it but still.”

“Oh wouldn’t that be so convenient.” Emery said as she took a ritual knife from the background.

Jasper closed her eyes as Emery approached her with the blade, “So…what happens if we fall out of love?” she asked..

“With the nature of blood pacts, the one to break it dies.” Emery said as she went on her knees to be above Jasper.

“You ready baby?” Emery asked.

“I am.” Jasper said.

“Okay, I want you to repeat after me.” Emery said as she pulled out a piece of paper. “As conditions to this blood pact, I agree to be bound to my partner by the soul.”

“As conditions to this blood pact, I agree to be bound to my partner by the soul.”

Emery continued, “With the edge of this blade we shall show our bond using pain.”

Jasper repeated, “With the edge of this blade we shall show our bond using pain.”

Emery put the paper down and wiped her forehead, “Okay time to start. This knife is sharp so don’t be startled.”

Emery gently caressed the top of Jasper’s head before she started. Emery gave Jasper a quick peck on the lips before she carefully brought the point of the knife in the middle of her collar bone. Jasper tensed a little when she felt the point of the blade, but was immediately calmed when Emery took her hand.

Emery then effortlessly pierced Jasper's flesh, gliding the knife down with the steadiness of a surgeon, leaving a line of split tissue starting inferior to her neck and ending superior to her mons pubis.

She then brought the knife’s blade above Jasper's belly button, carving a line spanning the ends of her ribcage. Lastly she carefully cut down from the end of the ribcage until she reached the thigh, repeating for the second thigh.

Once reaching the thighs, she carved a heart on the left and a poorly drawn outline of a dove on the right. As the final act of the ritual, Emery let go of Jasper’s hand to cut a deep line on the length of her wrist, allowing the blood to spill in the middle of Jasper’s chest.

Lastly, Emery opened Jasper's mouth with her hand and moved her bloody wrist upwards, spilling some blood on Jasper's chin before it dripped into her mouth. Jasper didn’t hesitate to swallow Emery’s vampiric blood once it reached the end of her throat.

Once the ritual finished Jasper’s cuts healed, leaving pink scars in their place. Emery took Jasper's hand to pull her up. Sunrise was near by the time they were finished.

“Come to bed with me, my love.” Emery said as she pulled Jasper to her bedroom.

The two laid together before heading to bed. When Jasper awoke the next evening, she felt her teeth to notice her canines were elongated.

“Emmy, Emmy!” Jasper said as she shook Emery awake.

“Huh, yes dear?” Emery asked half awake.

“It worked!” Jasper tightly wrapped her arms around Emery, “It worked!” She yelled in excitement.
