Chapter 1: James POV 1
Chapter Text
'Captain... Captain? Captain! James, wake the fuck up!' A boy with long black curls shook the sleeping man.
'Sirius what the fuck...' the short dark haired man slowly woke up, coming face to face with his right hand man, best friend, brother in arms, love of his life, Sirius, which decided to just shove some scroll in his face. With a sigh, he sleepily opened the scroll and looked for his glasses, which Sirius was kind enough to hand to him. James looked over it, confused. It was a wanted poster, for some pirate under the name of 'The Moonwater Wolf' with a reward of 30,000,000 golden coins. The man in the picture had short brown hair and multiple scars on his face, some looking new, some old. His intense dark eyes sure were enough to instal fear, gaze sharp and intimidating akin to a wolf. For whatever reason, he looked weirdly familiar... Wait, 30,000,000 GOLDEN COINS?! This sure was enough to wake him up.
'DANG-- Thats a lot of money...' the captain mumbled.
'Do you know who this is?' Sirius looked at him as he got comfortable on the bed.
'He looks familiar...'
'Its Remus. Remus fucking Lupin' the blue eyed man said deadpan.
'REMUS?! OUR REMUS?! What the FUCK did he do?! Mr. 'Goody-Two-Shoes' didn't even want to join us in pranks just to focus on his studies, how the FUCK did he get a bounty almost as big as yours?!' James was, to say the least, shocked. Back when McGonagall took them in as their teacher, Remus was just... So quiet and well-behaved. Well, at least in front of her, he still liked tagging along with him, Sirius and Peter (another friend of theirs, he currently works as a spy on some other big ship) to pull pranks on the towns' people. Even then he didn't really do much other than the occasional purely genius ideas. Still, James loved the guy, he helped them do their homework and in exchange James secretly payed for everything he needed. He was a good kid. But true, guess whoever ends up in a pirate school can't be expected to be all that sane.
'So what did he do?'
'He killed five people'
'...Oh.'
'Then robbed the Capital's bank.'
'Oh.'
'Yup... I heard rumors that he'd managed to get to Lily's ship' Sirius explained as he laid down next to James, looking melodramatic.
'Oh. Thats great. ... Whats with that face, Sirius' the brown eyed man asked with a small grin.
'... He's gotten hotter...' The black haired man mumbled with a long sigh, looking out the little cabin window.
'You one of 'em queers, mate?' James asked jokingly. It's not like he wasn't the one who had to hear him cry about Remus during their 'school' years and how he never 'seemed to return his feelings' and shit... Which was proceeded by a gossip session with Peter who had the exact same experience with Remus.
'As if you are not' Sirius mumbled and threw a pillow at his face.
'Shut it already' James joked and hit him back laughing.
After a few minutes of hitting each other back and forth with the same pillow, a knock on the door was heard.
'Captain? You up?' A young voice rang on the other side of the door.
'Yeah, whats up?' James asked cheerfully as he went to open the door, still in his sleepwear, all disheveled and with Sirius, not looking any better, still lying in James' bed.
'We are almost on land' the young boy reported, not fazed by the site. The whole crew was used to the Captain and his right hand man's co-depended friendship. Hell, they were even known as a duo by whoever ever came in contact or heard of their crew. Its VERY rare to find a bounty poster with only one of them on it. 'The Stag and the Dog' here, 'Captain Prongs and his right hand man' there... They are almost inseparable.
'Got it, thanks, kiddo!' He replied happily as he ruffled the young boy's hair then closed the door then turned back to Sirius.
'Sirius, get off my bed.' James commanded as if he was talking to a dog. He took off his sleep wear and started looking for his usual crimson shirt.
'And if i don't?' Sirius said mischievously.
'I'll throw you off the board. Hey- Is that MY shirt?!' James exclaimed.
'Mine was dirty...' the black haired boy mumbled.
'Sirius, your wardrobe is literally bigger than my cabin!' The captain said annoyed.
'I wanted to wear THIS shade of crimson today though. And you have to admit, i look fabulous~'
'You look fabulous in everything! But this is my only shirt!'
'Too bad' Sirius shrugged and let his tongue out.
'Then you have to let me wear your black shirt. You know, the one you got from Bowie the Lighting Queer.' James stated. They sounded like kids.
'Don't. You. Dare.' Sirius said, suddenly serious (pun intended).
'Too bad' James imitated Sirius as he ran out the cabin to the room in front and locked it from the inside. Despite Sirius having his own cabin, he preferred to sleep in James' most of the time, which turned Sirius' cabin more into a wardrobe for the other pirate.
With Sirius aggressively knocking on the door and trying to get it open, James calmly looked for the shirt and put it on. He also helped himself to one of Sirius' corsets. 'He anyways doesn't wear them' the captain thought to himself. The corset was crimson with golden lacing and silk padding on the inside. It's one of James' favorites.
'There, got you..' the second James got out, Sirius tried to pounce him. Luckily, James was known for his speed and managed to run away. The two chased each other for awhile, and by the time they realized, they were in the middle of the ship when Sirius finally managed to get him. They were now laying on the wooden floor of the board, Sirius laying on top of James.
'Got ya'' Sirius exclaimed victoriously.
'Fuck you' James mumbled, annoyed. None of them seem to notice how awkward the sight might be, Sirius on top of James, both of them looking fairly disheveled, wearing each other's favourite shirts.
'Captain, we're almost there!' The helmsman reported loudly.
''Aight, thanks mate!' James yelled back and carefully picked Sirius up, stood up then helped the black haired man stand as well. The brown eyed pirate climbed the stairs to the helm. He stood beside the helmsman and looked over at the horizon. The town was just... There. All the buildings, the fishermen in their boats, the Lion's Inn, all there exactly like when they left. The familiarity was comforting.
'Thank you, you've done a great job. We will stay here for about a week, so you can have enough time to rest before we go back on sea.' The captain let the helmsman know and the tall man which was missing both a hand and an eye nodded, grateful. The exhaustion was clear on the man's face and James felt guilty about it. He loved his crew and wanted everyone, from Sirius to the slaves they rescued that were in charge of keeping the ship clean, to be safe and healthy.
The captain stood there until the ship arrived at the port and it was secured then climbed down from the helm.
'C'monn, let's go!' He said cheerfully as he grabbed his sword, Sirius and jumped out the ship.
'Lion's Inn, here we come! Loser pays for the first round of drinks!' Sirius yelled as he bolted.
As if James would ever let him win. Despite it being around 10 in the morning, it has been awhile since they got to drink together in their hometown, and it was easier to steal at night, so if they got drunk now, by midnight they will get sober and be able to steal whatever resources they need and so they can spend the remaining days having fun, relaxing and catching up with their old friends, maybe even getting to see his parents. Call it pirate math.
And so, to no one's surprise but to everyone in town's annoyance, James won. He bursts through the door and yells back at an out-of-breath Sirius: 'Ha! I win! Now you pay!'
'As if its not still YOUR money-!' Sirius yelled, catching up, clearly pissed. Fair point, all the money they get is technically James' since he's the captain. But it's not like anyone's complaining either. He makes sure everyone's culinary preferences are accommodated, they get health care whenever they need and he even has a few bards and jesters on board which he rescued at some point that act as free entertainment in exchange for him saving their lives. Not even to mention the emotional support he provides for everyone, listening to their problems and going all out in helping each of them. He gives them everything they need and in exchange, they swore their life to him.
'Well, well, well... Look who's back in town... Hello, Mr. Potter, Mr. Black. Oh, sorry, Captain Prongs of the Euphemia and his right hand man, the Blue-Eyed Crimson Dog.' An older woman, around 55, greeted them from behind the counter.
'Minnie!' Both pirates exclaimed happily, like dogs seeing their owner come home from work. They basically jumped over the counter to hug her. With a content sigh, she hugged them back.
'It's nice to see you two again.' She said calmly. 'How long are you planning to stay this time?'
'One week' James replied as both Sirius and him sat on the counter, the Inn owner already pouring their drinks, not even having to ask what they want.
'How have you been, Minnie?' Sirius asked happily as he took a sip of his drink.
'Same thing, same thing...' She looked around, making sure no one else could eavesdrop. 'I heard from Peter.' She said, suddenly serious.
'Really? What did he say?' James asked, understanding that they might be getting bad news.
'Well, for one, the Death Eaters are recruiting people, their influence also growing in the shadows. Their next big plan to have some more control is to... uhm...' she seemed a bit hesitant as she looked over to Sirius.
'Its about my family, isn't it' the black haired man took a guess, clearly not happy.
'... They arranged a marriage between Snivellus and Reyna.' McGonagall said with a defeated sigh.
'WHAT!?' Both pirates yelled in the same time.
'Good news is, the wedding will be in 6 months...' she said subtly as if she was hinting at something.
'... That would give us more than enough time to go and rescue her. I mean, we are pirates, nobody will judge us for kidnapping a princess' James realized.
'Then we have to go as soon as possible! I am NOT letting my sister get close to that filthy freak!' Sirius stated and downed his cup.
'I know, and that is completely understandable. For now, you should probably rest during your stay. I have a feeling that a lot will happen in the near future, and I'd recommend enjoying the little time of peace you have' Mcgonagall advised calmly, with a caring look as she poured them another drink.
But James' mind was racing. How could they rescue Sirius' sister from that crook? Snivellus was part of the royal family of the Emperor's and he also has ties to the Death Eaters. Not only that, but they would also need to construct the plan in such a way that they won't get Peter discovered. Minnie was right, there WILL be trouble soon. But he was sure it will all finish good. After all, he's the Captain. He NEEDS to insure his crew's safety and well-being even if it kills him. And if that means going to kidnap the sole princess of the Black family to get Sirius some peace of mind, he'd not regret a thing.
Chapter 2: Regulus POV 1
Notes:
There ya go, chapter two. As i mentioned in the tag, Trans Reggie, however since he is only out to one person and this is related from his point of view, there will be she/her pronouns to show that he himself is still getting comfortable to the concept of not being a girl. And the name will be 'Reyna'. I cannot picture 'Regina' with Regulus' face. My only Regina wears pink on Wednsdays.
Chapter Text
'I legit want to die, someone fucking kill me' Reyna wrote in her pink sparkly leather diary. Reyna hated it. She hated her brother for running away and leaving her behind in this fucked up castle with this fucked up family. She hated her family for using her as a tool for climbing socially just because she's a girl. And most importantly, she hates her vagina. Why the fuck was she born a girl. She wants to be a guy. 'She' never feels right. 'Princess' makes her throw up. Heck, even 'Reyna' isn't something that she mentally associates with herself. Hm, if she could run away, what would she change her name into...?
'Your Majesty, Prince Snape has arrived and would like to see you' a servant announced through the door.
'Thank you for telling me, Coleman.' She said politely.
She then proceeded to slap her head against the study. 'Ow...' she mumbled as she lifted her head and rubbed the spot that hurt. With a sigh, she got up, checked herself in the mirror trying her absolute best not to look like a ghost summoned by a bunch of kids at a sleepover and left her chamber. All the servants she walked by could tell she did NOT want to be there.
'Sup, *Princess*. How are you doing on this fine day?~' Knight Bartemius said as he tagged along. He was her private knight and, despite the fact that if anyone heard a conversation between them they'd both be decapitated, he's also her best friend and the most... Standable in this palace. He also was the only one that knew about her queer tendencies regarding both preferences and gender and privately always used male titles, which she appreciated a lot.
'That brat came today' she mumbled, clearly not into it.
Bartemius had to remind himself he's in public so he had to stop himself from gagging, which is something the princess noticed. She tried her best not to laugh at his reaction.
'Exactly. Ugh, why can't a hot pirate come and kidnap me... Even if they'd force me to wash the floor, I don't care I just dont want to be here anymore.' Reyna complained.
'If a pirate were to come and kidnap you, best case scenario I'd get fired. Worse case scenario, I'd get beheaded for losing you.' He replied playfully.
'Then I'd just ask the pirate to take you too. I think you'd also be much happier setting stuff on fire, stealing and killing people than having to stand still and try not to laugh at me and all this royal bullshit.' She stated. 'Plus, you'd finally be able to get with E-'
'Shut up-!' The knight whispered, reminding her they were still in public to which the princess just shrugged.
They continued walking towards the main hall, passing by hundreds of paintings of generations and generations of members of the Black family. A certain portrait always catches her eye despite passing by it everyday. It was the portrait of the currently Black generation. Her mom, her dad, her and... Her brother, which had his face covered by a splash of crimson paint. She had no idea why they didn't just take it down already. Its been 9 years, after all. Is it that shameful to have a daughter to the point you would rather keep up the talk of your disowned son?
Lost in thought, Reyna didn't even realize she was now going down stairs which lead to her tripping and almost falling down. Luckily, Bartemius was there to catch her just in time.
'You good?' The knight asked, not fazed. Guess it's something that happens pretty often.
'Yeah, sorry...' she mumbled and stabilized herself.
Bartemius walked little closer to her to make sure she wouldn't trip again and eventually, they got to the Grand Hall, where Prince Snape was waiting there, hair oily and face ugly as ever. It's not that she was picky, he's just conventionally ugly. Couldn't they at least arrange her marriage to someone her type...? Guess she shouldn't complain much considering that at least he wasn't her cousin.
...To her knowledge.
'Hello, Your Majesty.' He said as he bowed slightly, taking her hand which caused her to instinctively pull away and take a few steps back.
'Yeah, yeah, hi to you too...' Reyna mumbled.
'Princess Reyna-!' Her mum mumbled annoyed, clearly NOT pleased with her manners.
'His lips are chipped and he tried to wet them with saliva before he kissed my hand, I'm NOT being touched by *that*.' She complained quietly to her mom, to which her knight that heard this exchange tried VERY hard not to laugh.
'We will let you two get more accustomed to each other before your wedding, so we will leave you alone.' Queen Eileen stated as she and Queen Walburga left.
'Does it always have to accompany you?' Snivellus mumbled.
'Excuse you, first of all, Sir Bartemius is not an IT. He's the head knight and my personal guard as well as the Prince of the Crouch family. Any disrespect toward him and I will get you beheaded. Second of all, yes he does. If you happened to attack or try to sexually assault me, I couldn't protect myself, so he WILL be here at all time.' Princess Reyna stated seriously, trying her absolute best not to just call an execution right this instant.
'What, is he also going to sleep with us when we get married?' Snape asked, sarcastically.
'Yes he will. And who said anything about us sleeping in the same bed? Not even my parents share a chamber, so I don't see why I would. I refuse to be touched or anywhere near you linger than necessary.' She replied, turned around then calmly headed towards the tea party garden.
The knight, once again, had trouble trying not to laugh, while the prince was flabbergasted.
The garden was filled with black flowers, along with a high variety of poisonous ones. Somewhere in the middle stood a small, round, table bade out of onyx with four chairs padded with silk and painted with accurate star patterns. Reyna sat on the chair with the Leo constellation and Snape sat on the one in front of her, while Bartemius stood on her right. She honestly felt bad for him, always having to stand. Her iron deficiency could never.
'Soon we will have to have our little tea parties in my palace, huh?' Snivellus muttered as a maid came and poured the royals a cup of tea.
'Bold of you to assume I'm leaving this palace.' She replied coldly.
'But I'm the Prince-'
'And i'm the last member of the Black family with this name. You will be moving here AND getting MY last name.' The princess stated calmly.
'But-'
'No 'buts'. If you would have read the contract our parents signed, you would have seen everything they agreed on. I wasn't the one sold to you, you were the one sold to me. But of course, I wouldn't expect a man whose masculinity is more fragile than soap bubbles to understand. So don't worry your empty brain, you'll just need to sit on the throne while I'll handle everything else.' Princess Reyna stated nonchalantly as she took a sip of her tea.
'Don't you dare speak to me in this way, woman. I will NOT be disrespected by some girl that doesn't even know how to hold a sword. You are only here for giving birth and I expect you to fulfill your purpose.' He replied defensively.
'I'd rather not intercourse with you. I don't want to get AIDs.' She replied calmly, which once again, her knight needed all the self control in the world not to laugh.
'I do NOT suffer from any sexual illnesses-' he stated, shocked by her reply.
'How would you know when you clearly haven't touched a woman other than your mom in your life? Virgin.'
That was the last drop, Bartemius couldn't hold back from laughing.
'Okay, that's IT! I am leaving!' the prince stated and stormed out, Reyna waving bye calmly while sipping her tea.
'Tea, Sir Bartemius? Monica?' She turned to her knight and the maid, which nodded and sat down as well. The maid put away Snape's cup, took out two more and pour tea in them.
'You are SO lucky you are royalty yourself, otherwise you would get beheaded.' Monica, the maid, mumbled to Bartemius.
'I know, i know... But did you see his face?' He was still obviously amused.
'I was just stating the truth.' Reyna shrugged.
'You are also SO getting in trouble with your mom.' Monica turned to Reyna.
'I know, i know... But just because he has a small dick doesn't mean he makes it up with intelligence-'
'Princess! What did I say about vulgar language?' Monica mumbled.
'Let Her Majesty speak however she wants. There are royals that behead people for being ugly and killing people for not being able to pay the taxes that THEY set up in the first place. Considering we can freely speak to Her Majesty and casually have tea without our head being on the ground should be enough as payment. Swearing is nothing' the knight defended her.
'Fair enough...' the maid gave up with a sigh.
'See? Not that hard~' the knight said as he took a sip of his tea.
Reyna was grateful for them. She loved her staff and absolutely hated when other snobby royals killed or treating them like crap. They didn't choose to be born poor, so why should they be punished for it, while the royals get away with shit they shouldn't get away with just because they had the fortune to be born rich? Anyways, she loved them and she was going to do everything in her power to make sure they get treated right, even if it means losing the crown.
Chapter Text
James woke up on the floor with Sirius in his arms. They were covered by a blanket, his glasses nearby. He looked around, realizing they were on the floor of the Lion's Inn. And it seems it was morning. So, their plan of drinking early and stealing at night seems to have gone wrong... In their defense, they couldn't have know their alcohol resistance was that high that they managed to drink from 10 am to 5 am. Ugh... His head was exploding....
'Good morning' McGonagal greeted him quietly. With an amused expression, she handed him a glass of water and helped him get free from Sirius' grasp, since as she seems to have predicted, James ran to the closest window and threw up. His head hurt worse than when he had a drinking competition at 16. It was the first time James drank alcohol and it was on Remus' birthday. Sirius had a pretty bad cold and they let Peter watch over him as James went with Lily, Mary and Marlene to some bar to celebrate Remus' 17th birthday. Remus was already the most familiar with alcohol so of course he'd won, and if you were wondering, Marlene got second place. He didn't expect her to hold her alcohol so well, but gotta admit, for the second time drinking, she was very close to Remus before she passed out. James ended up in third place with Mary in fourth. James tried to outdo Marlene and Remus but ended up passing out first. Mary just gave up after James passed out and had enough time to partially sober up until Remus and Marlene passed out too. In the end, her and Lily had to carry the three back to the Inn. Mcgonagall wanted to lecture them, but was too impressed by Marlene and Remus to do so plus, it was also Remus' birthday. Therefore, she decided to let it slide that time.
...James did end up in bed sick with Sirius, but it was worth it.
After he was done throwing up, he drank the water Minnie gave him and chew on some Milk Thistle she additionally got as he sat back next to the black haired pirate and put his glasses on.
'Fun night, hm?' The Inn owner said, still amused.
'Yeah...' the captain mumbled.
'If it helps, your alcohol resistance has severely strengthened. Still not as good as Remus or Marlene, but you are getting there.' She remarked.
'Oh wow, thanks...' he mumbled sarcastically.
'And Sirius actually passed out before you, which was surprising.'
'Hm... I cannot remember shit...' James mumbled as he rubbed his temples.
'Figures. I kept your room intact since you left, you can drop him off there and go get over with whatever business you have to deal with.' She said with a caring gaze, which James was grateful for, but also surprised.
'Wait, you didn't get any new students?'
'I did, but I left you 7s rooms intact.' She replied calmly.
'Aww, did none of the students match to our level? Or are we just your favourites?~' he teased.
'None matched your level. Marlene and Lily just managed to pull the biggest jewelry heist from the Emperor and just... Got away. Mary and Remus pulled the biggest money heist, and only Remus got seen because he stopped to kill four of the most influential members of the Death Eaters. You and Sirius managed to not only save hundreds of lives but also became one of the most well-known pirates. And Peter's the best intelligence gatherer I saw in 30 years. You are all great in what you do.' She explained.
'Awww, really? We couldn't have done it without the best teacher!~' James said as he hugged her.
'Alright, alright... now go and get your man to bed.' She rushed him as she let go.
The dark haired pirate picked up his best man bridal style and headed to what was their old room. As Mcgonagal said, nothing was moved from when they last came here. He placed Sirius on his bed, covered him with the blanket and quietly left the room and headed uptown.
He looked around, making a mental list of everything his crew said he wanted. He had to get Sirius' special hygiene products and parfumes, pick up allergy medications for Robert (the helmsman), food for at least two months...
not paying attention, he accidentally bumped into someone. A red haired girl that also seemed to be doing groceries. After recovering from the little shook, she looked up at him.
'James?!' She exclaimed, surprised but clearly happy.
'Lily?!' He exclaimed, just as surprised and happy. The two hugged as if they haven't seen each other in 20 years. 'Geez, I missed you so much'
'I missed you too! How have you been?' She said cheerfully as she let go. This meeting surely made her day. She used to 'dislike' him and Sirius back in school, but eventually got attached to them and now considers them brothers.
'Meh, the usual, taking care of my crew, putting up with Sirius, stuff like that. I'm guessing it's the same with you?'
'Yup. How's Sirius?'
'Currently asleep, but it's gonna be one hell of a hangover when he wakes up... Even I haven't fully recovered...' he mumbled. 'Other than that, he's his usual extraordinairé self. Anyways, Marlene and Remus doing fine?'
'Yeah, Remus is getting along well so far with the rest of my crew. And Marls, well same as Sirius. We had a birthday party last night and she got totally wasted.' Lily explained, with a sigh. 'Did you get here yesterday?'
'Yeah, we are planing on staying for 6 more days. What about you?'
'We got here today, and i think we'll also leave when you do. I've got some errands to do, wanna join?' She offered cheerfully.
'Sure, let's go! I also have some things to get, so might as well do it together' He replied, equally cheerful.
So they did. The two most feared Captains, The Red Lily and The Crimson Stag, swords attached to their belts, casually doing groceries and joking amongst themselves. No one stopped or tried to attack them despite their high-rewarding bounties. The two just got what they needed and even payed full price, all this something taking about 2 hours. And luckily, they happened to run into four pirates, two of James' crew and two from Lily's that happened to be dating so the captains just got them to carry the stuff back to the ships before they can continue their double date.
'Welp, whacha wanna do next?' James asked, putting his hands in his pockets.
'Wanna just grab some tea and continue catching up until Marlene and Sirius eventually join us?' Lily suggested. 'Then after we catch up with them as well we could go visit your parents.'
'Sounds great! Wait, why do you and Marlene also have to come visit MY parents?!' James exclaimed.
'Cause we miss them. I actually regularly go and visit them. I like them. Especially your mom, she actually helped me pick the clothes I'm wearing today.' Lily said cheerfully.
'Funny how they still probably like you more than they like me even after we broke up...' James mumbled.
'Welp, to be fair the reason we broke up wasn't something we could control, so it was on good terms and we are still close friends, aren't we?' Lily said as she fidgeted with her left earring.
'Yeah, fair. You realized you like girls more and i'm just generally into mean short people that will beat my ass no matter the gender. So we're cool' he said and fist-bummed her then rested his arm on her shoulders in a brotherly manner as he lead her to a Chinese tea shop. The two sat at a four people tabled face to face with each other and ordered sone tea for themselves.
'Did you hear that Snivellus got in an arranged marriage?' James started in a gossip-whisper.
''Ugh, yes, he told me... Apologizing he 'can't end up with me, the love of his life' and shit...' she mumbled and took a sip of her tea. 'But who is he marrying?'
'Sirius'. Sister.'
Lily choked on her tea.
'... Wait, does that technically make Sirius and him related soon?'
'Best avoid making him realize that, otherwise your best man will be throwing himself off the deck the second he puts two and two together' Lily mumbled.
'Fair point. To be honest, i would too-'
'You would what?' A feminine, energetic voice was heard from beside them. Marlene and Sirius finally woke up and took sat next to their best friends. They seemed weirdly energetic after their hangovers, if you ask James.
'Nothing, we were just talking. How you two doing? Yall feeling alright?' James asked cheerfully as he poured the newcomers tea as well.
'My head is EXPLODING...' Marlene said and leaned on Lily. Despite saying that, she still seemed fine. And so did Sirius.
'What did you talk about on your way here to make you two so cheerful?' Lily asked, catching on.
'Sirius heard some rumors that the reason Princess Dorcas didn't get married yet is because she might be a lesbian.' Marlene said with a smile.
'And she just told me about Remus.' Sirius said with a similar grin.
'...Nah, y'all are smitten.' Lily rolled her eyes and took a sip of tea.
'Shut up, not our fault you have been in a happy and committed relationship for two years. Slut.' Sirius mumbled.
'How am I the slut??? Not only, as you said, have been in a happy, committed relationship, you couldn't even keep the one boy you ever love!' Lily fought back.
'Enough, guys!' James stepped in. 'Sirius, just because Lily's happy and you aren't doesn't give you the right to trash on her. And honestly, she's got a point. Also, we talked about your jealousy problem. How do we handle it?'
'Deep breaths and keep it to ourselves until we find a private space where we can get it out...' Sirius mumbled and rolled his eyes.
'Good boy' James said mischievously and pat his head, which caused a giggle from the girls.
'Fuck you...' Sirius sighed annoyed.
'Later' James said almost on instinct as he took another sip of his tea.
'How are you two not in a relationship yet?' Marlene asked with an exasperated sigh.
'Because Sirius cannot hold a relationship without fucking it up.' Lily said casually and finished her cup of tea.
'Do you REALLY want us to fight?' Sirius looked her and almost stood up, but luckily James grabbed his shirt and forced him to stay still.
'You are sleeping on the deck tonight if you don't stop.' James said as if he was speaking to a dog.
'But why don't you tell HER to stop!?' Sirius yelled back.
'Because I do not have any power over what Lily says. Plus, I know she can beat me up and I am smart enough to keep my mouth shut.'
'So you are calling me dumb?' Sirius puffed.
'Ok, what is WRONG with you today? You've been arguing with Lily since you got here.' James sighed.
'She started it-!' The black haired pirate said astonished by James' audacity to not take his side. Lily just rolled her eyes.
'Alright, both of you calm down already...' James mumbled.
Before Sirius or Lily could open their mouth, Marlene stepped in. 'He said to shut the fuck up. I'm all for Sirius insults, but what got into you so early in the morning?!'
'Marlene its 4 pm.' Lily mumbled.
'...My point still stands.'
'Guys, can we PLEASE just calm down? Let's just have a nice reunion. Now how about we finish our tea and head over to my parents?' James stepped in once again, desperate.
And while Sirius and Lily were so different it always caused arguments, there were some very small yet very significant things they had in common. One of those things being their love for James. So naturally they complied and just drank their tea quietly while Marlene and James started catching up.
