Chapter Text
The last thing they remembered was what felt like some sort of intangible wave of power followed by a sudden intense pain and then nothing. There was just a vague feeling, if it could even be called a feeling at this point, of floating in a sort of void or a sea of nothingness. Can it even be described as a feeling when one no longer possesses a body, or any sort of corporeal form anyway? It was a strange state of being. It was nothing like being staked or even anything like being in torpor so they guessed that they had likely met their final death. Considering the situation they had been in prior to what they assume must have been their demise they suppose they can’t really be surprised. Being vastly outnumbered by powerful enemies as they were it is not that much of a shock to have died in that battle. ‘Perhaps this is what occurs when kindred meet their final death. Perhaps we are simply destined to endlessly exist in a state not unlike the one we are taking at this moment’ they contemplated to themselves. Well at least all of their selves stayed together. This made it so in a way it was not as lonesome as it could have been, though considering that they were all just different parts of the same soul it was not that surprising.
After an indeterminate amount of time there was a sudden pull of sorts and deciding that since there was really nothing else to it they let themselves be pulled, not that they even knew a way to fight off the pull, along to wherever they may end up. The next thing they knew they were surrounded on all sides by a strangely comforting warmth of sorts. ‘Warmth? How strange…’ they pondered on this for quite some time. They were not sure how long they were there, however after an indeterminate amount of time there was a sudden feeling of liquid rushing against skin. ‘Wait...skin? Feeling?’. They had some suspicion earlier but this seemed to confirm it. ‘I have form again? A body? Is this perhaps reincarnation?’ they were distracted again by the feeling of being squeezed and pushed out of an uncomfortably tight place and the sudden shock of the air against their suddenly sensitive, far too sensitive, skin somewhat painfully. Before they even registered what they were doing Sammy took over and their newborn body was bawling loudly. They felt themselves being gently passed from one person to another and loud voices speaking in a somewhat familiar language, not one they could speak, but one that several of their friends could speak. It was the language that their blacksmith friend preferred to speak. Yes! ‘Japanese was the language! Could I have been reborn in Japan? It would not be the strangest thing to happen...’ they pondered while starting to drift off to sleep their thoughts lingering on the companions they had in their past life. ‘Wonder what that silly boy Yukio would think of my being reborn in his homeland’ were the last thoughts going through their mind before they finally succumbed to sleep.
