CHAPTER-1: THE FOOL’S CHARLATAN
Her footsteps as she ran felt clear to her ears, there wasn’t much sweat on her skin due to her fortitude as an Half-elf but what was, still irritated her greatly.
“What do I do? I lost sight off her!”
But the current problem at hand was something far greater than mere irritation.
She felt as though the world could collapse onto to her.
If she were to not get back her insignia, her entire life goal might end up as spilled milk.
The surroundings passed by as a blur as she ran, the air blew over and under bright silver hair and the wind howled in her ears.
Panicky, she thought of ways to find the blonde thief that stole her insignia.
‘Ho-hold on! Maybe if I call the Spi—
SMACK
And as she did, she suddenly ran into some one.
With an impact to their heads, both her and the stranger fell onto the ground. The latter much more heavily so.
Her fall was much smoother compared to the stranger and knowing her strength with elvish descent, Emilia hurriedly stood up and went to check on the stranger.
“I’m Reaaally Sorry about that! Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?”
She couldn’t help herself to help the man and perhaps even heal him if he was heart, although there is much risk in doing so, she can’t help herself when she was the one in the wrong.
And as she fussed over the Stranger, she also decided to take note of his features.
The man was worn in an Exotic attire that she never saw nor heard before.
The man was in a black suit, it seemed like a common butler’s but still had features that seemed to direct at a noble like heritage.
He also wore a half-top that, that which Emilia was slightly Un-Accustomed to but still had glimpses of when worn by Roswaal and people in his equal status, although in their status as well.
He also had a Obsidian black cane, that which was held by its handle, it had an orange-ish spiral accent to its length while there was a relatively large symbol of two lines parallel and one diagonally going from one end of a line to the other (It’s an N bro) ingrained onto the thick part of the handle where there was a crimson red Rose Flower-like circle.
But that was not the greatest distinction that made him differ from others, it was most certainly his dark hair and even further more his evil senpaku glaring eyes.
She raised an eyebrow at his questionable weird attire and looks, mainly due to how young the boy looked.
The boy, dusting his hat, stood up with irritated grumblings under his breath.
“…Wields good luck my ass, I had nothing but trouble since I got here!”
Hearing such odd mumbles, Emilia had her curiosity raised much further.
The boy with the evil eyes finally stood up and placed his hat upon his head, he seemed unused to such actions as he did so, resetting twice to fit his comfort.
After that he again spoke to himself, this time being easily hearable by nay bystander.
“I’m Happy that Miss Justice gave me this gift and all but… do I really have to wear it?”
Emilia Ruminated to herself on his words.
‘Miss Justice? What an odd name…Perhaps the lady is a promoter of justice?’
Finally, the boy looked at her, giving Emilia the best view for his Senpaku Eyes.
Although it made him look like a suspicious person, the greater view did not change her perspective much, but what did peak her interest was the way the boy’s eyes widened.
His cheeks also seemed to redden as well.
Then she realized something.
‘Oh no… I forgot about my visage!’
She had already gotten used to prejudice by now, yes.
But the sharp still injured, it wasn’t something she wanted to hear. As such she quickly tried to make after The thief once more after apologizing.
But…
“Woah…”
The boy suddenly made an expression of awe.
At his voice Emilia had closed her eyes out of instinct, but was surprised to hear no scorn in the voice’s tone.
‘Why does it…seem happy?’ She thought in confusion.
The boy immediately thumped his right hand to the left side of his chest, his hand balled to a fist. Taking Emilia off guard.
Even puck was wary of the boy inside his crystal.
But as he did so with vigor, he made a contradictive face of frowns and spoke to himself.
“wait that’s for the lord of…Storms? I think”
After doing so he straightened his body and retraced his previous action, this time much gentler with an open palm touching his chest.
Then he praised.
“Praise be to the Fool! The King of yellow and black Who wields Good luck!”
Emilia didn’t understand a single word this man had spoken.
She thought that he would scorn her like everyone else did, but he did not, he was instead acting out actions, gestures and words that she did not understand.
Though she did not feel sadness, she still felt at a loss for words and thoughts instead.
‘Wh-Who is the Fool? He wields good luck?’
Her mind was reeling for a moment and seeing her in that state, puck interfered.
With a spectacle of blue particles, a cat of greyish fur was formed.
With a wary look, he spat.
“Hey! What do you want with my daughter? Just saying, but you need to get her father’s permission first.”
Saying so he waited for a response.
Puck thought he might be slightly off in the head but he didn’t feel anything coming from the boy, thus making him more warry.
The boy hearing his words became even more excited, his smile became wider as well.
“Oh-ho! Is that a summon?”
He didn’t seem to hear what the great spirit had said, yet he gawked at the mysterious floating cat in front of him.
Then what he ignored Suddenly hit him.
“Wa-Wait! You’re her dad? But…”
He gazed back and forth from the father to daughter with a disturbed gaze.
Understanding what such a gaze meant, Emilia was quick to clear the misinformation.
Waving her hands slightly she spoke with a silver-bell like voice.
“No! he is just like my father! Puck took care of me for a long time so…”
She couldn’t tell if she should continue talking with the odd boy or not.
The boy held a look of revelation and sighed.
“Phew… that would have been weird. Anyway.”
He looked towards the Floating cat with a boisterous smile, seemingly a failed attempt at a gentleman like one.
He spoke with a comforting voice.
“You wanted to know what I wanted with your daughter right?”
The both perked up at hearing this.
While Puck became more vigilant, yet not too much since he didn’t feel anything from the boy, Emilia, was surprised to hear that the charlatan like odd boy truly wanted something with her, after all… she hadn’t met him before, she only did so now on accident.
The man took his top hat, his hair slightly grazed by it as he did, making a soft and silent ruffling Sound.
then he bowed, having the half-top hat to his chest. It wasn’t an elegant bow like the ones she had seen before, very crude, but it still held a hint of mystery that was entrancing.
“My name is Natsuki Subaru, A blessed of the Fool.”
‘Blessed?’ Emilia thought in intrigue.
Meanwhile Puck was Alarmed.
The boy lifted his head slightly with one eye opening slowly.
“And…What I want…”
Puck was getting ready to conjure his magic.
“…Is to help her find that lost item.”
That did it.
Puck Formed icicles in the air, spirals of mana conjuring them in 10’s.
“Get away from my Daughter!” Puck shouted with great authority, attracting much of the passerby’s attention.
There was a sense of foreboding in his tone that said that The boy, Natsuki Subaru. Would die if he did anything except back away.
Subaru looked at all of this with a scared look, sweat dripping down his face, confusion muddling his mind.
then he shouted out to the world his grievances.
“WIELDS GOOD LUCK MY ASS! How am I getting killed after an hour I get into this world!?”
