Chapter Text
It was time. Sam Winchester thought as he looked at Lilith dying, finally he will be free, Dean will understand why he has done what he did and everything will go back to normal.
"Sam" Dean shouted as he burst in the
door. Sam just smiled at him but when he was about to speak something happened, Lilith's blood started to flow and then form on the floor, and Sam watched with dread as it started to open the door and light poured in.
"Dean, he is coming." Said Sam with realization and terror.
Then Castiel came in and teleported them away, just as they were about to be blinded by the light.
As soon as they were somewhere safe, Castiel told them that Lucifer was now free.
"What?! But I killed Lilith!" Sam said in panic.
Dean looked angry and went to get beer. Castiel followed him,.
Sam in the meantime was sitting at the motel, and berating himself how he could have just done better, instead of following Ruby and betraying his brother, how it was all his fault Lucifer was free now, and how Dean will never forgive him.
But there was nothing he could do at the moment so he decided to go to sleep, even though he knew he would be having nightmares, and even the thought of that made him cringe.
After a shower he throws himself in his bed and despite it all as soon as he hits the pillows he falls asleep.
Meanwhile Dean and Castiel are in an argument.
"He released Lucifer! How much worse can it really get?!! And the demon blood and Ruby?! I just don't know how he can live Cas!" Yelled Dean at the seraph.
"Sam was manipulated Dean, just like you were it's not fair to him if you keep this up." Said Castiel in his monotone voice.
"I know but just the thought of it makes me want to punch him in the face" replied Dean while his hands were in a fist.
"I think we should head back it is late and we will need to drive to Bobby tomorrow, let him know the apocalypse has begun" Castiel said gravely.
Dean sighed and nodded, it was true their surrogate father would be tracking them down if they didn't show up with news. Like two days ago Dean thought grimly, as he watched his new best friend, and silently agreed.
So they went back to the motel where Sam was already asleep. Dean turned to Castiel but he was already gone, without much further ado he went to bed as well after a swift shower. Staring at the ceiling as he thought what to do next, and already planning how to kill the Devil.
Unbeknownst to him somewhere thousands of miles away red eyes with gold tint opened fully aware of themselves for the first time in aeons.
