The truth
Disclaimer: I don’t own Friends or its characters. An idea that racked my head since November. Here we go and enjoy too, 2026.
Ross believed it was about to tell him. To tell Chandler of his relationship with Joey. Joey felt the same way. The best friends turned lovers were happily together for nearly 6 months.
”How you think he’ll react?” Joey asks sitting comfortably on Ross’s lap. Ross knew how he would.
“All I can say we’re going to see once it’s out in the open. The older Geller pats his legs removing it from his lap pulling Joey pecking his lips. “Come on. Let’s get over it.”
They’re off to Chandler’s apartment. The apartment Joey still shared with him, too. How nervous and frightening they were once they’ll confess.
A block they’ll go into squeezing each other’s hands. Already inside they’ll go a few flight of stairs. Glancing at each other until they’re at their floor.
A few steps away poking their heads seeing if any of their friends were around. As it’s all quiet and empty Joey fishes his keys out opening the door.
The TV turned on and someone they’re there to see comes out of the bathroom. “Hey guys, come join me. I need to ask what should we watch tonight?”
Joey closes the door behind him as Ross walks further. A curious look upon Chandler he’ll cross his legs.
”What’s going on? Is everything okay, guys?”
”Hmm. We actually need to talk to you. It’s very important.” Joey says. Ross nods his head looking back at his boyfriend. Was he going to tell Chandler or was it going to be him?
”How do we start?”
”You could by telling me what’s going?”
Ross keeps his distance. Knowing Chandler very well he wouldn’t want to hurt or upset him like he’s done in the past. Kissing his mother way back. Clearing his throat Ross would blurt it out.
”Joey and I are in a relationship.”
”A relationship? Aren’t we all in a relationship? Best friends? “
Ross looked back at Joey. He nods his head waiting for Joey to say something. To open his mouth and speak up.
“Yes we’re all best friends. But Joey and I are in a different kind of relationship.”
Chandler soaked in what was said looking at Joey. Was it true. All he needed was an approval from Joey.
Joey knew that confused look very much. A few sighs coming out standing beside Ross. He would nod his head casting his eyes away from his roommate.
”How long?”
”We’ve been together for six months.” Ross says.
“Do the girls know?”
”Hm not really. But Emma caught us kissing at some point.” Joey adds.
Ross widened his eyes staring back at his boyfriend. He didn’t expect that to be said or come out of Joey’s mouth.
”Whoa wow.” Chandler stood up from the couch. He would stare at their holding hands. A few sighs he’ll let out. “Hmm. Wow, are you guys in love?”
Chandler would had to ask and know. His two best friends he truly knew and loved needed to fill him in on how they truly felt.
”Yes I’m in love with him.” Ross says. Right behind him Joey agreed. They’ll look to each other and back at Chandler a few seconds later.
”Wow, I,” He wasn’t sure what to say. Though he opened his arms for them. Joey right away joined in his hugging his best friends. Ross was curious if Chandler accepted their relationship or not.
His friendship with Chandler meant the world. As did his relationships with Joey. A sweet, loving kind person he felt hard for.
”Rossy come into the hug.”Joey pulls his arms wrapping it around Chandler. He’d join in staring at Chandler. A sigh comes out staring back at Ross. A small smile spreads upon his face.
Did the smile meant he accepted it? He wouldn’t ask fist pumping him. Chandler would look at Ross’s fist. An eye closing as he fist pumped him right back.
With amazement Joey clapped happily. How great it felt telling him, but as scared feeling in his stomach he feels. Ignoring it he’ll grab for his phone ordering from his favorite pizza place.
”Pizza is on me. Tell me what you both want.” Joey hollered.
Ross would calm his boyfriend kissing his cheeks. Not far was Chandler watching them. An eye closing and another opened he felt sudden pain. Covering his face knowing himself was in love with one of his two best friends.
Hidden feelings he kept for years. And not to ever be told to anyone. And to the one he loved so much.
