Chapter Text
Well, it was another day at my frozen yogurt job! Being Popov’s manager is no easy feat after all. I start my day nice and early, waking up at around 6 AM to get ready for work. I go on my morning run to keep my body toned and ready for work. Keeping active is the key to a healthy body and mind. Then, at around 6:30 AM, it’s time for my morning shower. Washing away the early morning troubles, getting dressed, and putting on my name tag. It reads “Jack”. Finally, I have completed my morning with a healthy stack of blueberry pancakes. When I reach the shop, I wait for my fellow employees.
Especially for them. My favorite employee, or as I like to call them… My Sunshine…
8:00 AM
My favorite little employee works today… I just love them so much. I knew it was true love ever since I had run into them just before our interview. They didn’t know it, though, but it was their generosity that drew me out of my permanent loop and brought me meaning. We had bumped into each other at the crosswalk. I was coming back from lunch, and as we passed the street together, it was with their clumsiness that I had been able to save them from a fall. They repaid me with a smile and a thanks… Oh… remember the way they looked at me as they fell.
Their gentle eyes were so full of relief when they saw me. Me.
All for me…
I can feel a grin tug at the corner of my lips. Sitting in my office, I stare at the schedule… seeing Sunshine's name right next to mine… It was fate for us. I cross my legs, feeling a certain wave of happiness cross me over… Gosh, please not now… It's too much for me, and I'm at work for crying out loud! Get yourself together, Jack! I can't help but let my mind begin to wander as I file through bill… after bill… and great we’re out of cherries again! Gotta order more of those. Maybe Sunshine could watch the shop while I get the order. I wonder if they’d do it for me? I… wonder what else sunshine would do for me. I stare at the calendar…
“Oh~ Jack?” I hear sunshine’s voice purr to me.
“Y-Yes..? My sunshine?” I swallow the lump in my throat. Feeling the beads of sweat build on my forehead and my cheeks flush, as I see my sunshine. My favorite little worker…
“I would do anything for you, you know that, don't you, my starboy~?” Sunshine crawls onto my desk, their perfect chest close to my face as I crane my neck up to look them in the face, their perfect hand holding my face up by the chin… Oh gosh, Jack, please get it together.
“I-I do S-Sunshine… I know that. I just didn’t know you’d be so… Forward~” My mouth waters as I grab their hips and pull them onto my lap, kissing their lips gently… Such soft lips sunshine has…
“Hehe!!” Sunshine lets out a delighted giggle, enough to make one melt.
Grabbing onto sunshine’s thighs and slowly working my way up to sunshine’s… peach. Oh~ Sunshi-
KNOCK KNOCK.
Oh shit. Sunshine.
Uh… Oh yeah… That’s definitely a hard-on. FuckFuckFuck! I can’t stand up, but thankfully, I keep the door unlocked, but I just-
Damn it, Jack! Just focus!
“Come in!” I know it’s them behind the door. Because they’re the only employee who does their job right… I just bite my lip and scoot up as close to my wooden desk as possible. If I stand up, I will die.
With a click, the door opens, and my favorite employee walks in with their radiant smile, approaching me, taking a seat in front of me, and folding their legs in a nervous but polite way… as they tend to do, as I’ve seen, I see it in every seat they take. Such pretty legs sunshine has.
“Good morning, Jack. I didn’t mean to clock in so late.” Sunshine says with a slight huff in their voice, it’s clear they had to run to get here… poor thing. I should start driving us both here to work…
“Good morning to you, too! Don’t worry about being late at all. You’re the only employee who bothers to show up close to on time. Or at all.” I can feel my face blushing and my thighs rubbing together unconsciously. Fuck. I can’t keep doing that in front of them! HR would have my head. With a strain, I force a smile on my face. I still have to keep my cool.
“Are you okay, Jack? You look like you’re about to puke.” Sunshine asks, leaning in close and placing a hand on my head to check my temperature. They’re so close it’s almost like I can taste them…
For the love of frozen yogurt, do not look down, please.
“Jack..? Are you sure you should be here today? You are burning up, dude.”
Sunshine is leaning so far that I catch a glimpse down their shirt and peek at what is underneath. Oh my sugar honey iced tea, sunshine, you are not helping my apparent ‘Fever’ right now.
“I’m fine..! I just need to take a moment and catch my breath. T-There is no need to worry!” I pull Sunshine's hand away and reach it down to my desk, gently cupping it in mine… it fits almost perfectly in that brief moment I kept hold before retreating and giving a set of gentle pats.
“I do have a huge favor to ask you. Could you please watch the shop while I pick up the cherry order in 30? It’ll be quick!” I move my hands to my knees and rub my thumb against the hand that brushed against their hand. I will never wash my hands ever. EVER.
“Yeah, that's no problem for me. How long will it take?” They reply, with that casual smile they have when they talk to me, I notice that sunshine doesn't smile around the others… Not like they do with me. I know it. Carol and Barry could never understand what this feels like…
“20 at the latest, I'll do my best to be quick with it.” I assure my sunshine that it's going to be okay, and I look as they give a huff as they nod.
“Have fun with that cherry order! Sounds like a real ball.” Sunshine chuckles behind their hands as they stand up, turning to leave, but not before looking back and giving a thumbs up before heading out the door, closing it behind themselves.
… How loud is the shop radio? I need a minute.
I stand up and lock my office door, looking behind at the chair that Sunshine sat in, and I notice their name tag stuck to the side. Bent in a weird way.
A gift from the frozen yogurt god themself. A blessing if you will.
I pluck it from the chair and move back behind my desk, throwing myself back into my office chair, spinning slightly before bending the pin back into place, latching the needle back. I fidget with it in my hands, sliding it in between my fingers and gripping it in my palm before sliding a hand down to my buddy belt. I’m so sorry, friend.
…
8:47 AM
After what seemed like an eternity of touching myself, I finally released silently into a tissue. My head pounded with white, and the shaft of my… happiness, throbed with content as I quickly cleaned up as best I could, checking myself in the mirror in my own personal locker. Thankfully, my oil paint stayed put; however, wiping the sweat from my forehead and from under my eyes, I took a long minute to think, trying to move the waves of my blue hair out of my vision as best as possible, my shaggy bangs drooping with me as I stared at the floor.
I just came… At work, and I don't mean clocking in. Gosh darn it all.
With a loud sigh, I fix my outfit and try my best to look professional. After all, it's the least I could do for the act of indecency I just committed at this poor desk, and at Sunshines' poor name tag. I take a look at the coffee mug on my desk and take a huge swig before exhaling dramatically.
Time to enter…
The real world.
…
8:45 PM
After what seemed like forever, it’s finally time to close up shop. A day of work well done! As I stack and organize stock lists and order forms, shifting them to the side for later, I set everything up for tomorrow morning and cross this day off the calendar, my and Sunshine’s name crossed off the slick cardstock. Luckily, we will work together again tomorrow. How fun! I can’t wait to see my sunshine again tomorrow!
It’s time to say goodbye to the shop and my employees. Leaving my office, I run into Sunshine, who’s standing outside my office door. They’ve ditched the top half of our frozen yogurt garb, leaving them in the clothes they came to work in. They look wonderful tonight…
“Oh! Jack! I need to talk to you.” Sunshine looks surprised; neither of us expected this to happen, but overall, it doesn't bother me. Just seeing them brings a light into my day, just like they have on my entire life, my ray of light…
“Yes? What’s up?” I keep my cool just barely as well at this sudden encounter as well, it’s almost like this moment was meant for something more…
“I was coming to ask if you were okay… and if you’ve seen my name-tag anywhere?” Sunshine fidgets as they talk, their eyes focused on me.
…Wait, sunshine just asked if I was okay? Okay, don’t blow this, Jack! Play it cool!
“I’m good! Thank you for asking! I apologize if I was off this morning at all; it was a long night for me. As for that name tag, I have it right here!” Heh. Nailed it! I hand sunshine their tag, holding it in the gloves I wear. I don’t have to, considering I’m the boss, but it's a force of habit now.
“Oh, sweet! Thank you so much, boss. Also, you said you had a rough night? Is everything okay?” Sunshine furrows their brow, their face contorts to one of slight worry, looking at my dark circles, before I speak again.
“Don’t worry about it! Just some work things are all that’s on my plate. Nothing else!” I lean against the door frame coolly; doing this boosts my confidence.
“Okay. Good, I’m glad to hear you’re okay!” Sunshine beams me a smile as I stare at them, almost dumbly.
Oh god, they’re way too sweet for their own good, they’re so sweet they’re almost stupid.
Perfect.
I blink back my idiot mug and smile back at them, giving them a reassuring hand on the shoulder.
“I hope you have a good rest of your night! Be sure to get home safe, okay?” I grip tightly before letting go, looking at the spot where my hand rested.
Heh. Spot, like my lovely sunspot! I love them so much.
I watch as sunshine gives me an appreciative nod, sliding their tag into their pocket, leaving for the back room to grab the rest of their belongings.
God, they look good in those clothes.
I turn around and lock up my office, and give the knob a jiggle to test if it was locked. With a satisfied huff, I leave to the floor leaning on the register counter while I wait for my favorite employee to leave first before I lock up.
“Good job today on the register! You really know how to hold a conversation with customers; they love you!” I say as sunshine leaves the door. Watching as they leave with a wave.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Jack! Have a good night!” Sunshine looks me up and down before they leave, smiling at me while they walk away into the night.
Oh… My gosh… Sunshine, please want me back.
With a long sigh, I turn off the lights and leave, locking the shop's doors behind me and walking to my car. I press my key to unlock it and open my door, getting in to sit inside.
Sitting in my car behind a yogurt shop. Nice one, Jack.
I start up the engine and begin my descent from the parking lot back to my apartment.
9:36 PM
…
I unlock the door to my apartment, stepping inside and walking in with practically no energy, taking off my red loafers and leaving them near the doorway. I set my things down on the entry table before sluggishly making my way over to the couch for some dinner and TV.
I make my way towards the fridge for my meal.
Meal prep has saved my ass more times than I can count. A simple chicken and rice meal sits on my coffee table. I already ate half of it while watching some movie, something actiony with all kinds of action. I chug half of my water before leaning back into my couch cushions with a loud groan.
“Augh! I miss them already..!” I stare at my ceiling. I slither from my couch onto the floor, blowing raspberries as I go down. I am so incredibly alone.
I wonder what kind of things people do at this hour besides sleep. I’m not too sure. I begin to stand up and clean up after myself, putting everything away as I prepare for sleep. Putting my meal back into the fridge and loading the dishwasher with my cutlery.
…
Eventually, I make it to my room as I strip off my dirty work clothes and toss them into the laundry basket, leaving myself in just my underwear. Before tossing myself into bed. Shifting to get comfortable as I tuck myself in, staring at my ceiling once more, my mind racing with thoughts of my sunshine as I drift into a slumber.
