Chapter Text

Aonung pov.

Aonung was busy doing his chores, he was putting together the net for the next hunt, he was quietly humming to himself, he wouldn't like to admit it but he loved doing this kind of task, he was quietly enjoying the peace knitting the net brought him, hoping it could last forever.

Unfortunately this peace did not last long thanks to a commotion that had started to form, he managed to see how many metkayina navi were running towards the port, he didn’t know what was happening but as the next olo’eyktan it was his duty to go and check things out.

The first thing he saw when he reached the port was five gigantic flying beasts, this beast were terrifying they had enormous wings and sharp teeth , the metkayina warriors were ready to strike but were stopped by Ronal's command, who was cautiously approaching these beast, once the beast landed the metkayina were able to see how some weird looking Navi descended from these beast, “We come in peace” the older of these navi said, raising his hands to his ears, trying not to look threatening, Ronal gave a light nod allowing his guest to continue, jake after receiving confirmation signal to his companions to dismount their ikran and then called the ikran of, “What is going on here” Tonowari shouted as he came out of the water, he moved around the group and positions himself next to his wife, in front of his new guest, “ me and my family are here to ask of uturu(refuge)”,Jake said in a pleading tone, Aonung snorted at this making him receive a scolding glare from his mother.

While the oldest of this navi family (who Aonung assumed were the parents), talked to his father and mother he started approached the younger ones to take a proper look at them, there was something weird about them they definitely looked like navis but at the same time they didn't, they weren't ugly or anything like that, actually the whole family seem to be quite attractive, but there was just something odd about them, when he was examining the group he realized how thin their limbs were, they looked so fragile like they would break at the slightest touch especially their tails, he couldn’t help but think how useless they were for swimming.

After a careful examination of the guest one caught his attention, the one who seemed to be the oldest child of this Navi family and the least odd looking of his sibling, he actually looked like an authentic navi, at least for Aonung's perspective, he looked as the exact image of his mother but far more gorgeous, there was something about him that made it impossible for Aonung to look away, there was something in his big amber eyes and slim waist that made him look completely ethereal.

Aonung stayed lost in this individual for some unknown amount of time until his mother ,who had also started to inspect the guest, had taken the oldest girl hand shouted to the whole clan how this individuals weren’t even real navis since their hands had an additional finger, they had alien blood in them, the hole clan gasped in horror as they moved some steps away, only Aonung and some other curious metkayina observed cautiously,”so that why they look so odd” Aonung thought to himself, he was curious and tried to see if the navi who had caught his attention also had this extra finger but he failed, since his father had taken a decision and called for everyone’s attention.

Aonung walked beside his father to hear his verdict, Aonung expected his father to deny their request for uturu(shelter) and set them of away from his home, he was shocked when his father not only accepted their request, he also ordered him and his sister to help and teach the younger Navi the ways of the water, the audacity of his father.

Neteyam pov.

After saying their goodbyes they were ready to begin their travel, he couldn't help but shed a silent tear, he was gonna miss everyone especially his grandmother Mo'at, the moment he felt the tear was going to roll down his cheek he immediately wipe it of, he mounted his ikran and waited for the rest to do the same, once everyone was ready they said their last goodbye and took of, Neteyam couldn't help it an gave his home a last look, “goodbye…” he whispered to himself as he turned his head and face forward.

They were traveling for eywa knows days he was getting really tired of everything, his back had already started to get sore from being in the same position, he just wanted to turn around and head back home, that gorgeous forest were he and his sibling were born, but he knew that it was impossible of the sake for his people he and his family needed to flee in search for a new place to call home.

He didn’t know how much time passed but he was now able to see on the distance a group of islands, Neteyan could fell as a weight was lifted of his shoulders after seeing only the sea for a long amount of time, being able to see something else was refreshing, there was still a long way to go but know he could at least see where they were going and if eywa wants it one of those islands would become their new home.

After landing they were received by a not so warm welcome, weapons were pointed at him and his family, his instincts told him to grab his bow and prepare himself to attack if it was necessary but he suppress it, his father had instructed him and the rest not to attack under any circumstance, they were completely surrounded by the metkayina clan, Neteyam could fell how his brothers body started to tense up but he couldn't blame him the metkayina clan were staring at them as if they were some exotic animals.

After letting the olo’eyktan of the clan know their intentions Jake and Neytiri started to try to convince them to accept them in, as he was giving a quick glance to his surrounding couldn’t help but notice this teal navi who was beside the tsahik, “he must be her son” he thought.

He saw how this navi started to approach him and his siblings,Neteyam could fell how he was examining him and his sibling, but for some strange reason this navi had been looking directly at him far more time that he had looked at his sibling , he tried to ignore him and listen to what that adults were talking about but it was kind of hard he could feel those blue eyes burning through him, he could feel as if he was being eaten alive it had started to make him fell anxious, he wanted to protest to to tell him to cut that off but he couldn’t because he needed to maintain his façade of the perfect son, that was until the tsahik grabbed kiri’s hand and shouted how they weren’t even real navis, how dare she talk that way about his sister, he could feel how his blood started to boil, but he couldn’t protest or do anything and that only frustrated him.

When the Olo’eyktan had finally reached his decision Neteyam was able to sighed a sigh of relief as he felt that teal navi waze disappear, but it also made him feel kind of exposed, why? He didn't know, he just hoped he didn't need to see him again, little did he know they were going to see each other more times than he could wish.
