Work Text:
Blood and murder and fear
Is this what you cheer for?
Families ripped apart,
People disappear
Bruised and beaten and taken away
Tell me, did you want this?
A woman is murdered,
A woman is dead
One still in the driver's seat
Another birthing a baby from a corpse
The news is aflame with liars
There was no gunman,
There are no fires
Do you know that?
Ice on the streets,
Due process broken and breached
Another war threatened,
While one is waged by a land called "holy"
Why do you cheer?
Why do you lie so much?
Where were you,
When the photos came up?
There's files we need to see,
Censored and protected
Murderers are moved,
And a coup pardoned
The world is on fire,
People are dying,
But you don't care
Do you?
I said I don't want to hurt you,
Many years ago
Now that's a lie
For the ones who were taken,
Beaten and bruised,
I hope you suffer
For the crimes,
Against human beings,
I hope you suffer
For the ones who are silenced,
Their voices erased,
I hope you suffer.
For the ones who were murdered,
Held down and shot,
I hope you suffer
For all the violence you cheer for,
Against people who's last words ask
"Are you okay?"
It should've been you.
