Work Text:
"I... after this war ends, I'm going to marry Emil Sinclair..."
"Because it's him, I decided on attaching myself to him, y'know. Have a ceremony, get some loads of roses, and spread them all over the place. It'd be perfect for Emil. hehehe. ... Hmm, looks like they're leaving. I've gotta go. Oh! I'd appreciate if you'd tell him that I'm doing well. Alright, I'm off. If we're lucky, I'll see you again soon."
---That was the last time that I spoke to Miss Don Quixote. One week later, I heard that she was covering for a new recruit in the same deployment and was killed in action.
---What did she look like in her last moments? I can't know that. I'm sure that she was smiling, though.
---I probably should leave it here. So I'm going to put down my pen.

---Then Emil Sinclair spoke to me through weepy, swollen eyes
"... She said that? Hah, she never said anything like that. You know, she never really said that much at all… Even without her asking, I already loved her that way. Huh? Her last moments?… I suppose. She was certainly smiling. She was protecting the weak. She was always like that. She was really always did what was right... Even when I... told her that I'm just a human... She looked... into my eyes and said, 'That doesn't matter to me. Emil, I love you.'"
---Hearing up to this point, I left the room after thanking him, Emil Sinclair. That is, should I have heard more it would have been painful for me.
---I fled. Probably not something a reporter should do. But, he did look like he had reached his limit. I wanted to leave him by himself.
---I left quickly, pretending not to hear the sorrowful sobbing and rageful scream that was coming from the room as I took my leave.
