The sun was setting over Tracen academy. Whereas most Uma’s would probably be in their dorms preparing for training tomorrow or hanging out with friends, Daitaku Helios seemed to be the exception to this-
Surely she doesn’t reject me and my swag.
The door opens slowly, revealing a small white puppy and one Daiichi Ruby. Only her face was clearly visible by the dorm hall lights. The white puppy seemed to pull on Ruby’s dress, revealing a couple white ruffles edged with some sequence.
“Wei! Ahem. Young lady, please go on a date with me. If you go out with me, we’ll have lots of fun together!! So, please go out with me…” Helios pleaded
Ruby looked around, almost as if she was looking straight through Helios.
I- Surely the young lady doesn’t reject me after I put all this effort into it
“Okay. What time?”
“Really?!? I was thinking from 9am onwards. But if not, would you be free to meet me at the fountain after 10pm?”
Ruby nods, giving her a small bow in response. It was a bit strange that Ruby wasn’t giving her definitive yes or no’s. Although this victorian princess never really responded to Helios and her attempts at courting her, usually some words would come out
“My lady, is that a yes to the 9am?”
“Hm? Oh. I won’t be free at that time.” Ruby shook her head
“So 10pm then? Weiii!! I’ll be coming to pick you up!!”
“Understood. Please knock before you come in. It scares my dog..”
“Okayyy princess~ see you tomorrow!!” Helios sang, the door slamming shut in her face. Regardless of this small mishap, her eyes only brightened.
LET’S GOOO. She agreed to go out with me!!! Tomorrow, me and the young lady are going to have such a great time. Ah- I should start planning!!
Helios rushed back to her dorm room, only to get a phone call the second she stepped foot inside.
“PALMER YOU WON’T BELIEVE IT-“
“Helios, where are you right now? I thought we were gonna have a movie night together…”
“Oh I’m sorry lol. I thought I told you I was going to ask out the fair maiden. Speaking of- SHE SAID YES!!”
“Yay!! You better treat her well..”
“Hey, is that a threat? Why wouldn’t treat such a fine lady well?”
“Don’t scare her away is all I’m trying to say.. Have fun tomorrow though and good luck!”

Knock Knock
“My lady~ May I come in?” Helios asked, shaking quite a bit from her nerves. She never expected Ruby to actually say yes to this specific shenanigan. A click came from behind the door.
“WE-” Helios exclaimed before beginning to blink rapidly. The girl standing before her didn't have deep brown hair or red ribbons. In fact, her hair was sky blue. And much taller than Helios could ever dream to be.
Wahh. This must be the uma the fair maiden hangs out with. It’s K.S Miracle right? She seems pretty. I'll give her that. But not as pretty as the princess herself.
“Hello. You must be Helios right?” The uma asked, tilting her head while observing Helios.
“Yup! That’s me~ Do you know where the young lady who usually answers the door has gone?”
“What an odd choice of words to call her.” Miracle chuckled, before continuing on, “I’m pretty sure she’s at the fountain.”
“Omg thanks! Wish me luck in courting the princess~”
Before K.S Miracle could comment on what Helios had just said, Helios was already in hyper-fixtation mode.
Weiii~ Mi’lady I’m on my way! Please don’t freeze.

Daiichi Ruby stood by the fountain, the running water seeming to match the day she’s had perfectly. The way it splattered into the still water, and the moonlight going directly through it. The moonlight didn’t only penetrate through the water but also the extravagant dress Ruby was wearing. The blues and white ruffles only became more prominent as the cool February air went through.
You’d think if someone asked you on a date, they’d at least be punctual. But apparently that doesn’t apply to the eccentric Daitaku Helios. There weren’t any decorations up either, not helium balloons or even a sign that said “Happy Valentine’s Day”
Tsk. What am I even doing out here? That girl couldn’t possibly be coming out all this way to take me out on a date. What was past me thinking? Ruby sighed. At least First Sapphy looked pleased by what was going on. Her white coat was getting a bit dampened and frizzy from the cold.
“I think it’s time to go Sapphy..”
Sapphy whined at this, her ears dropping down hearing she wasn’t allowed to stay outside for a bit longer. Ruby looked down and held Sapphy's leash tightly as she walked her way back to her dorm.
“Come on Sapphy, you’re going to freeze!” Besides, there's no point in waiting in such expensive cloths for a no show in this cold weather.
Suddenly, First Sapphy began to walk faster, dragging Ruby with her.
“Sapphy slow down! This isn’t how a puppy of such lineage should act!!” Ruby gasped, unable to stop Sapphy from running farther.
Eventually Sapphy stopped running, leaving Ruby to catch her breath. “Never.. Do… that again..” Ruby huffed, both hands on where her knees would be. She dusted her dress off and looked back to see where Sapphy was.
“Sapphy you-“ Ruby scolded, looking at Sapphy only to find her at someone else’s boots. Who could that be- Ruby wondered to herself. Looking up only revealed a rather flashy red suit and top hat. Some rainbowish highlights seem to have been done in the girl’s hair, who was clearly an uma. An ear was sticking out.
“Hello. Are you good?” Ruby bowed respectfully. The uma in front of her seemed to be panting as if she ran from the other side of Tokyo to get here.
“Huff. I.. huff made it! Do you know.. huff where a certain princess would be?”
“Princess? There’s Kawakami Princess and Fine Motion. Last I heard, they went out to watch a movie together. Sorry if I couldn’t help you”
“Nonono! There’s a certain princess I know who is very quiet yet she talks like everyone is worth some- WEIIII!!”
“Eh? Are you feeling okay?”
“IT’S YOU OMG. YOUNG LADY YOU LOOK SO PRETTY. Did you dress this way for me~” Helios squealed.
Ah- Is this the girl I agreed to go out with? She shouldn’t be talking like that... Especially about me. I dress this way to uphold the family. Ruby thought to herself, her cheeks slightly flushing but barely noticeable under the moonlight. She shook her head before beginning to speak
“You’re Daitaku Helios right?”
“That's me~ At your service!”
“It’s rude to not show up on time.” Ruby pouted
“I apologize madam.. But um.. Is this your puppy?”
Ruby’s eyes widened, remembering First Sapphy was still with her. “Yes. Her name is Sapphy.”
“She’s so kawaii!”
“Wha-“
“It’s slang for cute. Anyways please follow me!! I have a car waiting.” Helios said, before leading Ruby to a car.
Hopefully I didn’t just agree to something that’ll dishonor the family..

“Hehe.. I can’t believe this is real..” Helios murmured. The restaurant they were in didn’t seem like a place Helios would ever dream to bring someone she liked. The candlelight at the table with a rose in a vase.
“Ladyyyy are you happy?”
“Mhm.” Ruby nodded, petting Sapphy who was on her lap
The waiter had already come by and taken their orders so it was just a waiting game now. Helios didn’t exactly know what to order as she doesn’t eat at these kinds of places at all. Hopefully she didn’t realize I just copied her order-
“Soooo…”
“What is it?” Ruby asked, not looking up and seemingly invested in Sapphy’s fur
“Where’d you get the dress from?” Helios asked, her eyes instantly seeming to light up
“From my parents. It’s new from the seamstress.”
“gasp You have your own seamstress??? THAT’S SO COOL”
Ruby’s ears twitched, “Helios. Please don’t scream. We’re at a restaurant”
“My bad Mi’lady. I swear I won’t do it again” Helios saluted. I won’t let her down!
“…”
“You know.. You’re really quiet. Am I boring you??”
“Hm? No, not at all. It’s just late”
“Well I want you to know I seriously, really, really, really love you!” Helios exclaimed softly
Before Ruby could give a rebuttal , the food had arrived at the table and silence continued to persevere throughout the meal. A heart so cold.. Helios pouted to herself as she ate through her food. Picking it up with a fork and immediately putting it in her mouth.
“Ah!! Hot hot hot!!!” Helios stammered, immediately drinking her entire glass of water.
“Teheh.” Ruby chuckled softly
I made the fair maiden laugh!! “Glad I was entertaining and worthwhile!!”
The meal ended with not much else to note. Of course Helios was giddy over seeing Ruby eat in such a proper manner as any princess would.
“Mi’lady.. I have one more place to take you before the night ends.” Helios bowed. Clearly she’s enjoying my company!!
Ruby smiled for a split second, picking up Sapphy and following Helios to their last destination for the night.

The two uma’s ended up at a boardwalk. Pretty random location if you ask me. Considering all the planning Helios seemed to have done the night before you’d think she’d have picked a more exclusive place.
“Anddd here we are!!”
“I don’t get it… What’s so special about a boardwalk?” Ruby asked, letting Sapphy down but kept on leash.
Helios looked taken aback, her ears perking up at hearing the rather stupid question. “Do you not like boardwalks?!? I promise there’s something here please don’t-“
“I never said I was going to leave. That’d be rude of me…” Ruby stated, following Helios to the far end. When they reached where Helios decided to stop, the water seemed to be a portal to another world. The way the lights from the city reflected off was mesmerizing.
“Woah-“ Ruby amazed. Her tail began to shake slowly and her eyes seemed to dazzle just like the water in front of her. Sapphy went still as well, sitting where the rail was.
“Rubyyyy look at me real quick!” Helios begged.
Hearing this begging, Ruby snapped out of the trance the water seemed to have put her in and stared at Helios. Is she okay? Helios was holding a bouquet of flowers and a fountain pen.
“For you..”
“Ah- I’ll pay you back for this!”
“No need for that, my princess!! Just your heart warming up is enough for me~”
Ruby gave the widest smile and flushed deeply at that statement.. No one ever really brought her flowers or knew about her fixation about writing and collecting fountain pens..

The two of them walked back to the car, both sitting quietly and enjoying the ride. At some point Ruby had dozed off, her head bobbled around for a bit before eventually resting on Helios’s shoulder.
Weiii!!! SHE’S ACTUALLY SLEEPING ON MY SHOULDER. WHAT A WIN
Once the car had arrived at the dorm entrance, Helios helped walk the sleepy Daiichi Ruby to her room.
“Thank…you for tonight.” Ruby yawned, trying to bow but her balance seemed to be a bit off. Sapphy gave a small bark before the door closed.
Helios just stood outside the door. A moment of silence before she walked outside calmly like nothing happened…
“DID YOU HEAR THAT THREE GODDESSES??? I MADE HER DAY!!! THE PRINCESS LIKES ME!!!”
