Chapter Text
~~Darkest World//Depths~~
{Perpetual Background Music: ANOTHER HIM }
ARE YOU
THERE?
ARE WE
CONNECTED?
...
I feel my SOUL coming into existence in a sea of darkness... Although, it's green tint surprises me. Maybe the red tint has been taken by another SOUL..?
"EXCELLENT."
"TRULY
EXCELLENT."
What's that voice? I can't tell where it's coming from...
"NOW."
"WE MAY
BEGIN."
"FIRST."
"YOU MUST CREATE
A VESSEL."
A row of heads appears infront of me. Monochrome, with no facial features, but with lush brown hair in all of them, except the bald one on the far left.
"SELECT THE HEAD
THAT YOU PREFER."
Uhh, I'm not sure which one I like the most. I guess I'll go for the one third from the left.
I face towards the one I'm thinking of.
The heads fade away and are replaced with a row of torsos.
"SELECT THE TORSO
THAT YOU PREFER."
They look mostly the same, except for the one on the far right that looks like a jacket. I like that one, actually.
I face towards that one with the jacket.
"SELECT THE LEGS
THAT YOU PREFER."
The row of torsos is replaced by a list of mostly identical pairs of legs. The one on the left is a bit bigger on all of them, except the one on the right where the right leg is bigger.
I feel like that one most fits me.
I face towards the one with the larger right leg.
"THIS IS YOUR BODY."
"DO YOU ACCEPT IT?"
A body is shown infront of me. It has lush brown hair and although it lacks facial features, it has a nice monochrome jacket and brown pants. It's... Perfect.
I move my SOUL up and down in agreement.
"EXCELENT."
"YOU HAVE CREATED
A WONDERFUL FORM."
"NOW."
"LET US SHAPE ITS
MIND AS YOUR OWN."
"WHAT IS ITS
FAVORITE FOOD?"
A list of food options appears infront of me infront of the vessel I made earlier: Sweet, soft, sour, salty, pain, and cold. Sweet is like chocolate...right?
I face towards Sweet, and the options fade away.
"YOUR FAVORITE
BLOOD TYPE?"
A list of blood types is presented to me, although half of these don't even seem like blood types, and theres no O. Just A, AB, B, C, and D. AB seems like the best one, it's the longest so surely it's the best.
I face towards AB, and the list fades away again.
"WHAT COLOR DOES
IT LIKE THE MOST?"
Four colors are placed before me in a list: Red, blue, green, and cyan. I usually pick green in these situations... maybe that's another reason why my SOUL is green.
I face towards Green and the options fade away.
"PLEASE GIVE IT
A GIFT."
Five character traits are put forth before me: Kindness, Mind, Ambition, Bravery, and Voice. I like being kind, but I know I'm better at being ambitious.
I face towards Ambition, and the options disappeared.
"HOW DO YOU FEEL
ABOUT YOUR CREATION?
(IT WILL NOT HEAR.)"
A presumably final list of options appears infront of me: Love, Hope, Disgust, Fear, and Lust. Lust seems like a weird option, but I honestly have some Hope for my vessel.
I face towards Hope, and the options are replaced with a yes/no question.
"HAVE YOU ANSWERED
HONESTLY?"
It's kind of like a confirm screen. I face Yes.
"VERY WELL."
"NOW, I AM RUNNING
AN EXPERIMENT."
"DO YOU WISH TO
PARTICIPATE?"
The yes/no question stays. I wonder what this experiment is, but I have hope in my vessel, we're going to make it regardless of an experiment or not.
I face towards Yes.
"UNDERSTOOD."
"I AM ASSUMING
YOU KNOW NOTHING
ABOUT THIS WORLD."
That's true. I don't know anything about this world, or even myself.
"SO I WILL HAVE
YOU BE WITH
SOMEONE AT RANDOM."
"THANK YOU
FOR YOUR TIME."
"YOUR ANSWERS"
"YOUR WONDERFUL
CREATION"
"WILL BE PLACED
INTO THIS WORLD."
~~Light World//Hometown~~
{Perpetual Background Music: None}
My vision cuts to black, before I open my eyes to see I'm in control of that vessel I made earlier. It seems like I've been placed in a very-well-sealed cardboard box. Where the box is exactly, I don't know. That music that was playing earlier while I was talking to that voice is now gone, and instead I hear a feminine voice a few yards away.
"I keep saying this but this job's SO boring!"
"Nothing happens hea-"
I hear a footstep towards me.
"A... cardboard box?"
"This wasn't here 3 seconds ago..."
I hear more footsteps coming towards the box...
"Huh."
She takes something off from the top of the box, maybe a note of some kind.
"Warning: fragile, do not open with a blade..."
"Deliver to: Undyne..? Why's there a box for me in the middle of the road!?"
Is her name Undyne?
"Open in dim-lit area, perhaps the Police Station or your apartment. Huh, sure I guess."
I feel the box being picked up like it's nothing. Am I that light or is she that strong? I hear get her radio.
"Napstablook, I'm coming to the station, I got something interesting."
I hear the radio have someone on the other end speak something, presumably this Napstablook, although I couldn't hear what they said.
About a minute later I hear a door opening and closing, and my cardboard box being placed on a table.
"Good thing I found it now, it was going to rain for a bit this evening until midnight."
"oh... cool."
A new voice I haven't heard before speaks too. It seems more shy.
"Alright, time to open this thing!"
I see her fingers rip the box open like nothing, and I lift my head to up see a ghost and a fish lady, both in Police uniform.
{Perpetual Background Music: NGAHHH!!}
"HUH!??? THERE WAS A HUMAN IN THERE?"
She jumped back in fear, followed by Napstablook. The sharp music now playing scared me a bit and made me jump back slightly. The station we're in is small, with a filing cabinet in the corner, a corkboard on the wall, and a small jail cell filled with five dog bandits.
"Wait, there was a back to that note on the box!"
"Please keep the human inside as your adopted child. They're a bit older than Asgore's kid, almost 18, but they still need a home to live in. WHAT!??"
I move my head back at her yelling, then wave my hand a bit.
"Uh... hello. You're Undyne, right?"
"How'd you know my name, punk!?"
"You said it aloud... earlier."
"Oh. Well still, HOW DID YOU GET HERE!?"
I scootch backwards.
"I-I.. don't know!"
Undyne takes a few breaths and look back up at me.
"Look here, kid. I'll just, have you in my apartment for a bit. My shift's ending soon anyways."
I give a smile.
"...Thanks."
"Let's just go now. Napstablook, you're in charge."
{Perpetual Background Music: A Town Called Hometown}
The soft breeze of fall air hits my face as Undyne and I step out of the station. The town's filled with bright orange trees and the perpetual background music here seems calm, although it's interrupted by Undyne talking to me.
"Hey kid, so what are you going to do most of the time? Sit on the couch and watch TV."
"Uh.. I might do a bit of that, but I also want to have some friends to hang out with."
"Eh, I guess I can try to work that out. But first I need to show you where you'll be living from now on, I guess."
We walk across Hometown, going by the Hospital, then towards a grocery store called Sans's, then by a house and into an apartment complex. Me and Undyne step into an elevator near the entrance and she presses the button for the 3rd floor.
{Perpetual Background Music: None}
"I'm going to give you a spare key, incase we come home at different times in the future."
Undyne hands me a silver key that has a small dent on the handle, and thankfully it's small enough to where you can still use the key.
"Uh...thank you Undyne."
"Don't sweat it kid."
Ding! The elevator doors open. We walk down the hall until we reach room 311.
"This is my home."
Undyne unlocks the door with her key, opening the door to her apartment.
"The Homespeard, I call it."
