Chapter 1 The spirit of fire
The Rebels of Phoenix squad were in the middle of space recovering from the devastating Attack Darth Vader.
"Without our command ship our effort in the Region has been seriously hampered." Sato said.
"We need a new command ship. One thats larger and effective." Hera said.
Thats when an alert came up.
"What is it?" Kanan asked as Sabine pulled up a map showing a signal.
"Theres some kind of signal not far from our location. It'a ship...But I don't recognize it." Sabine said.
"Probably another Imperial trap." Zeb said.
"No...This tech is way less advanced than them." Sabine said.
"Let's investigate just to be safe." Kanan said.
Later
Arriving at the location they saw the ship.
"Whoa." Ezra said looking at it.
"Theres a name on the side." Hera said getting a look at it. "Spirit of fire." Hera said.
"Catchy." Sabine said before they found a hanger and landed inside.
"This tech feels way less advanced than the empire." Kanan said.
"It is." Sabine said as they looked around not seeing someone following them.
Making it to the inside the found a sealed door.
"It's locked." Hera said.
"Allow me." Ezra said pulling out his lightsaber.
Only to hear clicking behind his head.
"Don't...Move."
Everyone slowly turned seeing a man in green armor on with some helmet covering his head.
"I knew this was an imperial trap." Zeb said.
"Imperial? I don't know what that is."
"Ok let's just calm down." Kanan said.
Only for Sabine to try blasting him but he kicked her into a wall before throwing Ezra back who yelled.
Zeb pulled out his weapon trying to hit him but he dodged easily before landing a hit but shocked seeing some shield around him.
"A shield?" Zeb asked before he pulled his weapon out.
BANG!
Zeb widened his eyes looking down seeing him bleeding in the stomach.
"Zeb!" Hera yelled before getting kicked back as Kanan used his lightsaber against him but he dodged quickly before grabbing him slamming him down hard making him grunt.
"Enough."
He turned seeing another one in the same armor.
"Kid thats enough."
"Sir." He said letting go.
"Sorry about that. Reznov is more fight or flight kind of Spartan." He said helping Zeb up who groaned in pain.
"What are you guys?" Sabine asked.
"Spartans. Part of the UNSC. My name Jerome. I'm the commanding officer for the Spartans here." Jerome said as four more jumped down.
"Serena." A female Spartan said before a hologram of a woman appeared.
"Yes Alice?" Serena asked.
"Prep the Medical bay. We'll need to remove the bullet." Alice said.
"I'll hand that." A male said.
Leading Zeb into the med bay Machines turned on before one Spartan removed his helmet revealing he was only a year or two older than Sabine showing he had white skin with brown hair cut short and Forest green eyes.
"Whats in him?" Kanan asked.
"It's a bullet. Solid projectile. Luckily it looks like it avoided his vital spots."
Pulling out some device he looked at them.
"You might wanna hold him down because this is probably gonna hurt."
Alice and Sabine did making him struggle before he moved in making him yell in pain before he pulled it out making him sigh in relief.
"You guys are brutal." Zeb said making him chuckle patching him up.
"You have no idea." Reznov said.
"So who are you guys?" Sabine asked.
"As I said my name is Jerome. I'm the Leader of Red Team. The original members are Alice and Douglas." Jerome said.
"And you guys?" Kanan asked.
"New Spartans. Fifth Generation kind." Jerome said as the first stepped forward who operated on Zeb.
"Name is Sean Samual Ashburn Kruger. These are my friends Reznov and Julia." Sean said as Reznov removed his helmet showing he had white skin with short brown hair and purple eyes.
Julia had white skin with brown hair in a pony tail and brown eyes before putting glasses on.
"You guys look just a little older than me and Sabine." Ezra said.
"Well, duh. Fifth generation Spartans come from Second Generation." Reznov said rolling his eyes.
"Ok you have us lost. What are Spartans and where are you from?" Hera said.
"Earth. We're from the other side of the galaxy." Alice said.
"You mean the unknown regions." Kanan said.
"Unknown?" Douglas asked.
"Unexplored space. The Republic back then pre and Post Clone wars never went beyond known space." Kanan said.
"Whats this empire you talked about before?" Jerome asked.
"Oh...Have we got a story for you." Hera said.
Later
"Well thats downright unbelievable." Sean said as they made it to the bridge.
"Sadly it's all true. Theres not that many Jedi left." Kanan said.
"So why are you here?" Sabine asked.
"The Spirit of fire is an old ship that was original designed for colonization. Our mission was simple. Explore unknown space. And yet we found you." Jerome said.
"Wheres the rest of the crew?" Hera asked.
"In cryo stasis." Serena said appearing.
"Cryo Stasis? No one's used that kind of tech in thousands of years." Kanan said.
"We're a little less advanced than our Covenant counterparts." Julia asked.
"Covenant?" Sabine asked.
"They're a second group in our side of the galaxy. Mixed species and are allies of ours. 5 years ago we just finished a war against another group together against an enemy who wanted to rule the galaxy who believed they were superior to all life forms. Both sides united and won against them." Alice said.
"After that they began exploring the galaxy in all regions to colonize together. This is where we ended up." Sean said.
"How many troops do you have?" Hera asked.
"About a thousand give or take. All war veterans." Douglas said.
"Would you be willing to help us against the Empire?" Hera asked.
"Hold it." Sean said stopping them. "Thats up to Captain Cutter and he's in Stasis." Sean said.
"So why are you guys out?" Zeb asked.
"Someone needs to keep an eye on things." Alice said.
"Serina...Unlock all stasis pods." Jerome said.
"All ready on it." Serina said.
Down below thousand of stasis pods began to open up as they got out.
"Serina." Captain Cutter said stepping out.
"Hello Captain." Serina said appearing.
"Have we located a new planet?" Cutter asked.
"I'm afraid thats not why you've been let out of stasis. We have a situation." Serena said.
"Wheres Jerome and the others?" Cutter asked.
"On the bridge...With some guests." Serina said making him raise an eyebrow before seeing Professor Anders come out along with Sargent Forge.
"What kind of guests?" Cutter asked.
"Not enemies I assure you." Serena said as they walked up.
Arriving at the bridge they found them.
"Sir." Jerome said.
"Jerome. And you all are?" Cutter asked.
"They're rebels against a galactic empire." Sean said making him frown.
One story later
"I see." Cutter said in his seat.
"Let me get this straight. You guys got betrayed by your own troops who were all clones. This galactic empire replaced the Republic and now you're on the run from them." Forge said.
"Thats the story but..." Kanan said.
"You guys are idiots." Forge said surprising them.
"Excuse me?" Kanan asked frowning.
"You guys didn't I don't know...Investigate further into the clone army. It just suddenly appears when a droid army shows up?" Forge asked.
"Well, according to them at the time...It was authorized by another Jedi on the council at the time." Kanan said remembering the story.
"Clearly it wasn't." Anders said.
"Was there something that made the clones turn?" Douglas asked.
"They had inhibitor chips in their heads." Hera said making them pause.
"What are inhibitor chips?" Cutter asked.
"It's like programing inside them. When certain orders are given they act on them even if they don't actually want to." Hera said.
"I think it's obvious the Clone wars was just a proxy war to make this empire from start...And you guys clearly let it happen." Reznov said.
"We let this happen?" Kanan asked offended.
"If you had looked further into the clone army instead of accepting it out of the damn blue all of this could have been prevented." Julia said.
"We didn't just ignore it. We had no choice. We were in the middle of a war." Kanan said.
"What was the point of the War?" Sean asked making him pause.
"What do you mean?" Kanan asked.
"Were they threatening to conquer the galaxy? Kill everyone for sport?" Reznov asked making him frown.
"You don't know do you? Let me guess? The Senate asked you to fight and you did so without hesitation because you lost your way." Julia said making him glare.
"All right thats enough." Cutter said as Kanan walked out with Hera following.
"That was kinda harsh." Sabine said.
"We're just stating facts." Douglas said.
"If we had been in that situation we would have investigated completely. But they didn't. And it cost them everything. Or maybe they just got what was coming to them." Forge said.
Kanan was in the hanger sighing as Hera approached him.
"Kanan, they don't know the full story." Hera said.
"No their right. We never should have been involved in that war. There was no real point to it." Kanan said.
"But maybe they can help make things better. I need to contact Commander Sato and the others." Hera said going into the Ghost.
Meanwhile
Sato was with Ahsoka when they got an alert as Hera appeared.
"Hera. What did you find?" Ahsoka asked.
"It's not an imperial trap. The Ship is Called the Spirit of Fire. It's from another government called the UNSC. They're just traveling to colonize. But they're heavily armed. With them and another group called the Covenant...We could do some serious damage to the Empire." Hera said.
"Are they willing to fight with us?" Sato asked.
"You'll need to talk to them. Captain Cutter is in charge and he's pretty understanding to the situation." Hera said.
"We'll be on our way." Sato said ending transmission.
Later
The fleet soon arrived and docked.
"How long have you been drifting anyway?" Ahsoka asked.
"Serina?" Cutter asked as she appeared.
"According to scans we've been traveling for at least two weeks." Serina said.
"Two weeks huh?" Sean asked.
"Time flies when you're having fun." Douglas said making snort.
"Hold a minute." Ahsoka said as a hologram of Organa appeared.
"Captain Cutter. It's a pleasure to see you and your group." Organa said.
"Senator. What can you tell us about this Empire?" Cutter asked.
"I'm afraid nothing good. Everything that people fear and despise is what the Empire is. The people once believed it would bring security and peace. Instead it brought dictatorship and fear. Thats what we're up against and what you will be as well. And right now all you have is one old ship to stand against them. We need more than that." Organa said.
Everyone in the UNSC looked around before Cutter stood up.
"We are just one ship. And an old one at that. But here we are. And survivors of a war against those no different than the empire. And yet here we stand 5 years later after it ended. And all with those we have standing beside us. Where you see one crew...I see family. Courage. And A thousand heroes who swore to fight their way through hell before they'd Ever...EVER turn their backs and run. And where you see one old Ship...I see home...And that is always worthing fighting for!" Cutter yelled slamming a button sounding alarms.
"Ooh-Rah!" The Marines yelled going to their stations.
"If we don't stop the Empire now they'll just come to our side of the galaxy." Cutter said as Jerome and his Spartans rushed out. "So no Senator...You have everything you need right now." Cutter said making him smile.
"I believe you." Organa said.
Later
"Captain. I enjoy a rousing speech as much as the next Rebel but the Empire has had 16 years to set up their forces. We can't just attack them head on." Hera said.
"We're not gonna. We're gonna attack light targets first and move up. First we need supplies and weapons. I've sent out a signal to home base. They'll be here in time." Cutter said.
"So where do we strike first?" Kanan asked.
"Are there any facilities we can strike with a low amount of security?" Forge asked.
"Theres one." Sabine said showing a space port. "It's full of supplies. But it's still guarded by at least a hundred storm troopers." Sabine said.
"Then thats where we hit first. We can raid the port and get all the materials we need." Cutter said.
"Are you sure your troops are up to the task?" Sato asked.
"Jerome? Care to answer that?" Cutter asked.
"My men are more than ready commander." Jerome said.
"All right then let's go." Cutter said.
Later
A drop ship known as a Pelican was arriving at the port.
"Unknown Craft identify yourself." An Imperial officer said on comms.
"Go fuck yourself." Reznov said as they landed.
"ARREST THEM!" The Officer yelled before the Spartans got off shocking them.
"Get down on the ground!" A sergeant yelled only for Sean to shot him in the head going right through easily shocking them.
"You have a chance to live. Stand down." Alice said.
(Insert Just As Nauseam from Halo wars)
"OPEN FIRE!"
The Spartans easily rushed in taking all the shots easily before going right through them as Alice used a chain gun on them making them scream in horror.
Sean jumped up using two machine guns on them killing them quick while Reznov used a shotgun on them making them scream in horror.
The Officer seeing all this ran to his ship.
"Oh no you don't!" Douglas yelled firing a rocket at the ship making it blow sending shrapnel at him killing him.
Julia looked seeing death troopers before they started firing at them.
"Is this really the best they got?" Julia asked.
"Low training." Douglass said charging in taking them down easily.
Thats when Phoenix squadron came out of hyper space.
"You guys done yet?" Sabine asked.
Sean shot the last one in the head.
"We're clear. And no signals were sent out. Load them up." Sean said as ships began taking everything.
(End Song)
"Nice work Red team." Cutter said.
"Sir, we also found some locations to other outposts. We could use this at a later date." Jerome said.
"Good idea." Cutter said.
Everything they could get their hands on was taken.
"This will temporarily disrupt the Empire for a while." Hera said.
"Any kind of damage we can cause is fine." Cutter said as they loaded up before leaving.
A minute after they did a Star Destroyer emerged from Hyper space.
"Sir, We're not receiving any contact from the port." A deck officer said to an admiral.
"Send a team to investigate."
Sending in troops to investigate they found the place full of dead bodies.
"I want security recordings immediately."
"Uh sir?" One said finding some device in on the fuel lines.
"Oh no."
Just as the ship docked with the station it blew up destroying it and the Star Destroyer instantly.
Meanwhile
Spirit of fire was going over everything they had stolen.
"This is the biggest cache of weapons we've gotten in ever." Sabine said.
"These guys really know what they're doing." Ezra said before noticing Red team prepping.
While this was going on Sean was on the floor against the wall holding his helmet in hand.
"Nice helmet." Sabine said making him grin.
"Modeled after my old man's." Sean said as she sat down next to him.
"So their second Generation and your Fifth." Sabine said.
"My Dad and mom aren't here. They're back on Earth." Sean said.
"So whats the difference between you two?" Sabine asked.
"Second Generation Spartan Children...Have traits passed down to Genetic structures...Traits that make them more likely to survive the newest Augmentations...You see the Fifth generation were given a serum that contained the DNA of all known sentient species in our side of the galaxy. It was a join military project between the UNSC and the Covenant. The Prophet of Truth oversaw all of it. Midway they came to the conclusion that the serum would have too many unexpected side effects on regular humans. But it was revealed those who were children of Second Generation Spartans...They would not only survive but show even more promise." Sean said.
"And thats what you are." Sabine said.
"Yup. All of their strengths...None of their weaknesses." Sean said.
"So...Who are your parents exactly?" Sabine asked making him smirk.
"Thats the beauty of it all. My old man...Is the Master Chief. Spartan 117." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Master Chief was heading to the bridge of Infinity with his Wife Kelly.
"I swear if that Kid has gotten into trouble already." Kelly said making Cortana chuckle.
"I'm not Laughing Cortana." John said.
"Guys he'll be fine. Knowing him he's handling himself." Cortana said as they made it to the bridge seeing Lord Hood and Captain Lasky.
"Sir." John said.
"Good to see you Chief. Now regarding why you both were called." Hood said.
"What has Sean done now?" Kelly asked making him chuckle.
"Relax he's fine. Although the situation he and the Spirit of fire are in is a bit different than expected." Hood said.
"Apparently on their course to locate new planets for the UNSC and Covenant to occupy...They came across a Rebel cell against a galactic empire. Everything we fear and despise is what they are. Cruel, Corrupt, Violent and manipulative. They're asking for our help." Lasky said.
"I assume Sean's already lended them a hand." John said.
"Him and all his team and Red team and the rest of the crew." Lasky said.
"We need to discuss this with the others first...But right now we're giving you permission to take Infinity and help." Hood said.
"I understand." John said.
Author's note: This idea keeps popping in my head for some reason and I decided to go with it. This will be strictly Star Wars X Halo. No other crossovers.
