Chapter 1: The dead can't apologize

The flames burned brightly and smoke filled the pooly made restaurant. A little ghost child loomed over Mikey's his brother's decaying body. He wasn't ready to move on. He's not like the others, he can't have his happiest day...not without him. The boy knew his brother would apologize, he had to! The man couldn't be gone yet.

He tried to drag the body to the exit but all he was met with a barricaded door. Henry must've wanted to make sure that no one escaped. He fell to his knees and held the remains of his big brother close. This wasn't fair, so what if the other's time had come? Not his, not his brother. The fire came closer, as if reminding him that his time was up, their time was up and he couldn't do anything about it! He sobbed and inky black tears fell as the sea of flames swallowed them up whole.
