In the Goffice, Will, Hanbon, Coy, and Anthony are laying down, looking up at the ceiling. Anthony holds the camera facing up to it as well, showing the sparsely placed glow in the dark stars. The Goffice is fully lit up but they gaze at the plastic stars anyways.
“Oh my god! A shooting star!!" Will exclaims, pointing at one of those rubber sticky hands, which is stuck on the ceiling, right above Anthony.
"No that's the sticky hand Bon threw up there,” Anthony corrects, before the hand peels off the ceiling and heads towards Anthony. His scream is cut of by the title card.
Beach Episode
Anthony, Coy, and Will sit on the couch, in front of the TV Hanbon presents. “So, we've done a lot on this channel,” she says flipping through slides of their adventures thus far, "but you know what every good show needs?”
Coy raises his hand, “Body swap episode?”
"Sleepover?” Anthony guesses.
“A sleepover would be sick actually. But no, think filler episode."
Will gasps, "Beach episode?”
Hanbon goes to the next slide. “BEACH EPISODE!!!" The three jump and cheer with her.
“But before we get to that," Will gets up walking over and pulling out the Wheel, “We need tooo.."
"Spin that wheel!” the four say in unison.
“Every week we spin the wheel to see who’s editing the video you're watching right now.”
Coy slowly backs up the car into the parking lot, before shifting to park. He grabs the camera from the dash and everyone steps out. As the other three bring down towels, umbrellas, bags, and a cooler, Coy films them from the beach below. Will smiles and waves to the camera. There are a good amount of people at the beach already, families, couples, friends, some even playing volleyball at the nets. The Bunch walk around a bit before finding a spot close-ish to the shore. They stake the umbrellas into the sand, lay the towels down, and Will and Anthony begin running towards the water.
Hanbon and Coy rest under the shade of their umbrellas and start people watching. “How many couples do you think are here?" Hanbon asks. The two look around, counting each pair of people they see that look like they're together. One couple laughs together, drinks in hand, another applying sunscreen to the other, there’s also two parents watching who Coy and Hanbon assume to be their kids.
"I see like, 8 here.”
“I counted 9."
"Oh where?”
Hanbon points towards a couple playing in the wa- “Oh no that's just Will and Anthony,” she realizes.
“Ugh, all these happy couples make me sick," he jokes.
"So you hate love?”
“No, I just hate straight couples," the two laugh, Coy looks back at the two fooling around in the water.
“I think I found a little critter," Will says, he pulls out a little crab from the sand. Anthony zooms his camera in onto the critter, it pinches Will’s hand and scuttles off and away as Will yelps.
"Are you kids having fun over there?” Coy yells, from the distance.
"What?”
“Are you-ugh never mind." The two then begin splashing each other with water, which escalates to Will chasing Anthony along the shore, causing a scene that everyone nearby takes notice of. "And that's why we're the responsible ones.”
“Are we though?"
“Well we aren't but don't tell anyone that." The two lay back on their chairs, Hanbon pulls out two cans of Modelo from their cooler, tossing one to Coy. He takes a sip, and closes his eyes, taking it all in. Listening to the sounds of the gentle breeze, the heat from the sun, the sounds of a seagull probably stealing someones food, and then this grating agitating voice he hears right in front of him. Coy opens his eyes and Anthony is right there, zero personal space.
"Wanna dunk on a bunch of kids playing volleyball?”
“Yeah uh, sure.”
The kids near the net play against each other in duos, the four split off into twos. The first couple of sets don't go too well, the kids win against all four. But after getting the rust off, getting their head in the game, and being fueled by the motivation to obliterate the egos of some teens they don't know, they knock it out of the field… literally. Anthony gets ahead of himself and spikes the ball yards away, having to do the jog of shame to get the ball back. The Bunch (of Friends) are losing horribly to the teenagers.
“This time can you try and not hit it miles away Anthony?” Will remarks from the sidelines as Hanbon gets ready to serve on court.
“You’re just jealous because you keep missing your hits!”
“No I don’t! YOU’RE PRO-JECT-ING!!”
“WE’RE NEVER MAKING IT TO FINALS IF YOU KEEP ACTING LIKE THIS WILL! YOU’RE HOLDING US BACK!!”
A beat. Will and Anthony look at each other, rage and the commitment to the bit igniting like a fire in their eyes.
“Hey can you guys stop fighting and start the game, my mom’s leaving soon,” a teen on the other side of the court says, in the most tired yet patient tone. Anthony and Will remember where they are, they’re two adults in the middle of the beach playing volleyball against a bunch of 16 year olds who probably think they're weird. ‘But who cares what these stupid teens think of me’ they both think to themselves as a coping mechanism, ‘And who cares what Anthony/Will thinks, he’s probably-’
“Guys!” Hanbon says calling out the two who have been staring at each other for who knows how long. Hanbon throws the ball up, and serves. This round will be it, this time they’ll finally beat a bunch of kids in a game of beach volleyball. Nothing can stop this Bunch Of Friends!!
The four lay in the sand. “We barely got any points,” Coy says with his face in his hands, “guys that was so bad.” He looks up and notices that Anthony’s gone. “Dude what is he up to now?” Before any of them realize where he is, a water balloon falls from the sky and hits all of them in it’s radius. The three shoot up and run away in different directions. Unfortunately for Hanbon, Anthony decides to chase after her first. Weaving around and between the other people on the beach she tries her best to dodge the shots coming her way
“STAUHPPPP!!”
“I’VE GOT YOU SO MANY TIMES COME ON!! ITS OVER FOR YOU BON!!!”
“YEAH RIGHT!!” she looks behind her, massive mistake. From seemingly nowhere Anthony pulls out another water balloon, “AHH!! OKAY FINE FINE!! Fine you got me dude!!” He hands over his water gun to Hanbo-
“-NO NOT ME!-”
He hands over his water gun to her, pulling out another one from his back.
“Help me find Will and Coy.”
“What do I get out of it?”
“What do you mean ‘what do I get out of it’?” Hanbon holds up the water gun at Anthony. “Okay what do you want?”
Coy and Will are huddled against the wall that separates the beach below and the parking lot above. They are located on the opposite side of the beach from the other two. They’re crouched behind some bushes and a tree. “While we were running I stopped by our stuff and I found this,” Will whispers before taking out a water gun and some water balloons. Will hands the balloons to Coy in a little bag that he ties to his belt loop. “We got the Coy Will team up."
"We got this dude,” the two dap up and slowly creep along the wall, using the bushes and trees to stay as hidden as possible. After rushing behind the foliage they spot Hanbon and Anthony, holding their water guns and surveying the beach for them. Will holds his gun up to his chest, leaning towards it and aiming the barrel at Hanbon, waiting for them to walk into radius.
“WHAT THE!" Hanbon puts her hand on her side, dramatically moving it away as if the water were blood from a wound, she falls to her knees. The two look at each other. "Anthony..”
“Hanbon no-no it's okay, you'll be okay, Bon you can survive this please!!”
“Its over for me Anthony, avenge me, find whoever's responsible for my death… blehh.”
Anthony stares up at the sky, “Give me a little bit I need to get a tear out.” A single tear falls down his face. “HANBOOOOOONNNNN!!” he screams into the sky as she plays dead in his arms. He looks to the bushes and sees Will aiming another shot, Anthony makes quick work of him and sends a shot his way.
"WILL!!”
“Coy I got too greedy..I got too greedy," he lays against the wall, passing his gun to Coy. “You know how to shoot right?"
"Damn right I do,” he says in a southern accent.
“Make our country proud," Will follows up in an accent as well. He salutes Coy and closes his eyes.
"COY. IF YOU AREN'T A COWARD, FACE ME, ONE ON ONE, AT THE SHORE!” Anthony yells, looking right at Coy whose hiding behind the bushes.
The two stand at the shoreline, in front of the pink and orange sun setting sky, as the wind blows through their hair. The golden light casting a glowing rim around them. They look at each other, water guns in hand. “Its wild that the two white guys of the group are the ones to survive." The Bunch break into laughter and a jump-cut to when they lock back in.
"I think we both know how this'll end pardner.” The Bunch have committed to southern accents for the entire duration of this scene.
"Well it wouldn't be good to bury your gays now would it.. actually they'll be buried regardless of who wins this duel.”
"What's that supposed to mean?” He knows exactly what Coy means. The wind blows dramatically.
“Do you remember, the Summer of 03..”
“Of course I do, I'd never forget.”
“So what is all of this for Anthony? Is it all just because you can't bear to lose?"
"I'm a winner Coy, and I'll stay a winner,” Anthony raises his water gun, aiming it at Coy's head.
“Now don't get too confident, that’ll be your downfall," Coy also raises his water gun up.
The two stand back to back. Hanbon and Will stand a bit away, she's holding her phone up, thumb hovering over the screen
“We should all know the rules of a showdown. I count to 3, you take one step for each count, and when you hear this sound," Hanbon presses something on her phone, Vineboom.mp3, "you turn around and shoot.”
“One.”
One step forward.
“Two.”
Another step forward.
“Three.”
They stand there waiting, hands hovering over their water guns. Hanbon raises her hand up, finger on the play button. She presses, as soon as the sound hits their ears they pull out their water guns and shoot. There’s no bullets, so telling who shot who first is a challenge. Thankfully for Coy, Anthony didn’t shoot far enough. Head shot. Anthony dramatically falls to the ground. Coy looks down at him, dropping his gun. “I didn’t actually think I'd win that one,” he says in his normal voice.
“Okay come on,” Anthony says as he lays on the sand.
“I’ve never even held a gun before.”
“Oh really?” Coy holds his hand out and pulls Anthony up.
“WOOOO!! YEAHH!! COY!!!” Will cheers and the two jump around in a circle and cheer together.
They all sit on the hood of Coy’s car, looking at the stars above. “God it’s cold out here,” Will says. The cold winds of the night gently blows in. They all lean on one another, a couple moments pass before it gets a bit too cold outside. They get into the car, leaning back in their seats while they wait for the car’s heater to get going.
“Beach dayyyy.” Hanbon whisper cheers, the other three ‘woo’ing along with her.
“Alright, let’s get home,” Coy moves the car in reverse, then shifting forward and onto the road. Just a couple of friends in a car, perhaps you could say that they’re.. a Bunch… of Friends.
