Chapter Text
(Michael lays down on his back in his RV. Remembering the events of the night before. The smell of rotten flesh. The feeling of fear of almost dying. The teeth of the walker that almost got him after he yanked it back before it could sink its teeth into her. He remembers how his body just moved on its own before he could even think. How Andrea shot the walker that almost ended his life. How Amy and Andrea helped him to his feet. The fear and shock on Amy's face about what almost happened to herself.)
Michael- Fucken hell.
(Michael stands up and looks outside to see Andrea holding Amy closely.)
This place is really something else.
(Michael pulls out his wallet and looks at the photo of his friends and himself. It was the same one that they took at graduation. A tear runs down his face.)
Of all of the worlds I could've ended up in... I guess it's only fitting that I ended up here. A world where the dead come alive and hunt the living.
(Michael looks out the window and sees the pain, the sorrow, but also the relief on Amy and Andrea's face. A faint and small smile forms on his face.)
Guys, I hope you are doing well. Wherever you guys are in the multiverse.
(Michael turns as he hears the door open. He looks to see a man standing there in a dark gray t-shirt, tanish colored pants, and black boots. He has short almost medium length dark brown hair with his facial hair being rough looking. The person says "Well I guess after what you did last night there's no point in denying it. You're part of our crew now.")
(Dimension 4099. Location: Elkhart Indiana. Date November 7th, 2025.)
(Michael pulls up into James' apartment complex's parking lot)
Michael- CJ can you call him and let him know we're here?
CJ- Yeah
(CJ opens up Messenger on his phone and calls James. It rings for a few minutes, then finally James answers it. He yawns.)
James- Yeah, what's up big man?
CJ- We're here.
James- Here? Here for what? (confused)
CJ- You know for the trip?
James- Oh...
(Everyone hears James slap himself on the head)
...I forgot to set my alarm for that. I'll be down in a few minutes. Just let me take a shower and I'll...
(Robby stanches CJ's phone from his hand)
CJ- HEY!!
Robby- Get your ass down here! You can always use the shower in the RV! (shouts angrily)
(CJ snatches his phone back from Robby as James groans from exhaustion)
James- Oh, alright I'll be there in a moment.
(James hangs up the phone)
CJ- Don't be touching my phone, Robby.
Joey- I say we leave him. He knew what time we'd be here.
Michael- Not happening, JJ. Come one we've all been under stress lately and this trip gives everyone a chance to mellow out.
Brandon- No brothers left behind.
Michael- Yeah that too.
Philip- Hey I'm just glad that I got to go on this trip. It's been forever since we hung out. The ten of us. Just like back in high school.
Julian- Yeah things were easier back than.
Brandon- Speak for yourself.
(James knocks on the RV door and he walks in wearing a hawaiian shirt and shorts)
James- Who's ready for some partying!
Gavin- I thought that was after we got to North Dakota.
Michael- Doesn't mean you guys can't have some drinks on the way there. Well beside whoever's going to switch off and on with me for driving.
(Michael pulls out of the parking lot and onto the street)
Brandon- I can't drink anymore so I guess that leaves me.
Michael- There's some bottles of whiskey in the fridge. Don't drink it all.
Jacob- What about food wise?
Michael- There's frozen pizza in the freezer.
(A devilish grin forms on Robby's face)
Robby- Say no more. (laughs)
(About thirty minutes later the group is on a country road. Now far from any towns. Brandon sits behind the wheel with Julian sitting now in the passenger seat. James is looking at the map and scratching his head.)
James- Are you sure this is the right way, Brandon?
Brandon- It's a shortcut.
James- Don't your shortcuts usually end up in dead ends?
Brandon- Now always.
Gavin- Most of the time it does.
Brandon- Hey I resent that.
Michael- Eyes on the road, Brandon. We don't need an accident.
Brandon- Chill out bro. There hasn't been anyone for miles.
(Julian stands up and gets of the passager seat)
Julian- I think I'm going to get some of that pizza.
(Julian walks pass Michael)
Brandon- Hey bring me a slice to, bro. I'm starving up here.
(Brandon looks up at Michael who's eyes are focused on something. When his head back towards the road he slams on the brakes to see what looks like a massive wall of light moving slowly towards them in their direction.)
What the fuck is that?!?
(Everyone walks to the front to see the massive wall of light outside)
James- I'm going to take a closer look.
(James opens the door and steps outside and Gavin chases after him)
Michael- Gosh dammit.
(Michael walks towards the open door, but before he steps outside CJ grabs his shoulder.)
CJ- Are you sure that's a good idea?
Michael- Once James and Gavin's back inside we'll high tail it out of here.
(CJ nods his head as Michael steps outside. Michael walks up to James and Gavin who's staring at the massive wall of light in shock.)
You two need to get back in there.
Gavin- And go where?
Michael- Away from the light.
James- Yeah (frightened)
(James, Gavin, and Michael walk back to the RV's entrance just as a gigantic portal opens up in front of the light coming closer.)
What in god's name is that?!?
(Michael, Gavin, and James begin to feel the pull of the portal. Gavin manages to get into the RV first, but Michael and James are lifted off the ground. Michael grabs the door's handle with his left hand and grabs James' hand with his other.)
Michael- HANG ON!! (shouts)
James- Don't let go!
(CJ and Gavin reach their hands out as they both are shouting "Grab my hand!!". Michael feels the handle of the RV about to snap from the emissive weight of holding both him and James. He looks at CJ and Gavin then back at James. The world seems to slow around him as the weight of what he has to do.)
Michael- You're going to be alright, James. (calmly)
(With all the strength he has in his arm he pulls James up. He cringes in pain.)
Grab him.
(CJ and Gavin pull James inside, but before they can pull Michael inside he forces the door shut just as the handle snaps. As he's pulled towards the portal he looks around seeing massive walls of light moving towards the RV from all directions. He looks and sees the fear in the other's face as the RV is lifted into the air. He sees nine other portals open up as he falls into the portal and passes out.)
