Work Text:
Olympus was ruled by order and politics, like the human world.
Favors and sponsorship were also done. Perhaps they would never rise to become one of the Twelve, but growing power and influence could benefit them enough to gain the respect of others at the big table.
Levi believed he was doing exactly that when he decided to support the minor goddess (y/n). She was kind-hearted, healed animals and cared for the gardens of Historia and Hange, even if the last one always messed them completely. He bought her castles, dresses, a dragon —although, he told Hange to offer it to her in his place—, and as he watched over the beauty Mount Elexht offered, he knew this was going to be another property added to the long list he already had for her.
When he returned to Olympus, Hange was the first to receive him with a loud call of his name. He rolled his eyes and removed his Corinthian helmet with visible annoyance. He could sense idiocy before they could muster it.
“Levi! I need you to give something to (y/n).” The luminescent petals of the wildflowers in their hands made his shoulders tense. Hange had been recently very close to the minor goddess, and he was already wondering if they might have taken a particular liking. “Aren’t they precious?”
“I sincerely hope you are talking about the flowers.” He refused to take them; he would not give (y/n) something from another suitor. “What is this? Since when you offer her gifts like this?” His head tilted as he watched the deep red on the petals, it was not natural.
Rolling their eyes, brushing a finger through the surface of the petal, they giggled at the way Levi was already tense. Giving a full turn, they sighed ridiculously loudly, only to annoy him further, and then shrugged.
“She is the only one that understand my love for science and plants, buddy. So, of course I want her to see my new… experiment.”
“Experiment?” He touched the petals with delicacy and weariness, the common caution to have with anything Hange creates. “What kind of experiment?”
“What is the good in telling you? You’re a brute and never listen to me.” With a look of disapproval, they just threw the bouquet on his arms and start to walk back into their lab, mind already in their next thing to do. Yet, before opening the door and with a malevolent smile. “Besides, the flowers would combine with the Elexht, perhaps she’ll give me permission to plant them in there.”
“Dionysus!”
They locked the door before Levi could throw a fist on their direction, he just sighed and walked towards his chambers, ready to prepare himself before going out to visit the cause of his lately acquired heartaches and constant headaches.
Hermes —Connie— barely looked up as Levi marched past carrying flowers again. And Historia only dared to giggle behind her hand before throwing a knowing look to Ymir by her side.
After cleaning and bringing back to life the beautiful yet messy garden of Hange’s temple, she rested with her back against the side of her long white dragon, Khyra. Dragons did not have genders, but she liked to think of hers as a girl. Taking a fruit whose seeds bled red juice down her arm, she sighed at having a moment of peace. It was not something she could always achieve.
And just then, her dragon shrieked behind her, already sensing the upcoming presence before the movement of the ground announce the presence of the god’s arrival. She stood up on time before he appeared in front of her, dressing in a simple white robe and a bouquet on his arms. The sandals on his feet making his legs look longer, and her heartbeat accelerated at the sight before a big white wolf came over, rushed past Levi and make him almost fall back at its enthusiasm.
“Snowflake, come here!” Rushing over the creature, her giggles already sounded like the best serenate to his ears before he could recover himself, shaking his head with a tiny smile on his lips that he only showed for her.
“Snowflake? That doesn’t fit him quite well. Right, Bloodmoon?” He petted the back of the wolf’s head, watching him sit before he could finish moving closer to her. “Amatheia, how have you been?”
At her Greek name being used, she followed up with a reverence on his powerful entrance with cheeks reddened, and a warm heart. “Ares, my lord.”
“I told you to stop the formalities.” He said with a sudden serious voice, before she lifted her head with a teasing smile, and he lost his breath.
“You started.” Levi looked away first.
The dragon roared and sat on his hind legs, its wings beating the air as Levi offered the roses to her and waited for her reaction. The humming sound of satisfaction by the scent of the plant somehow did not sit well with him, after all, they were Hange’s, not his.
“Hangie told me to give them to you, something about you being the only one that understands her love for plants and stuff like that.” He moved closer to her, somehow, there was not enough closeness even if they were standing next to each other. “An experiment, or something.”
She paused, even if the scent was indeed delicious it was not the best idea to simply indulge into anything the god created. With a soft chuckle, she changed her attention to him, wanting to make the most of their moment together.
“I also have something to give you.” He looked serious, but she knows he was sunshine beneath the scowl on his face, even more when he turned to pat the scales of the dragon and with an expecting look on his handsome face. “Are you coming or not?”
And of course, she followed him.
Her hands were wrapped on his waist, even if she knew there was no way of falling, —not with the control she could have on the wind— not with the special way in that her dragon flies, but it was as natural as the way the sun bathed their skin on warmth and the way the force of the movement in the sky tossed through their hair. He didn’t say anything against it, even leaning onto her touch. Her head rested on his back, his sweet scent making her eyes close as her dragon danced against the wind.
They landed on a large mountain covered in green and wild trees, butterflies and animals living inside it looked over them, before rushing inside the green forest. Nymphs stepping ready to assist and bowing at the sight of Ares, while a beautiful and open castle awaited for them.
He went down first, helping her down from the beast. He sent everyone away with a regal nod, and without realizing, his fingers intertwined with hers as he presented her to Mount Elexht, the nearby river sent a soft breeze through the place.
“Wow… it’s beautiful, Levi.” Smiling, birds were immediately attracted to her nature, singing and flying near. She stopped, remembering the words he said before leaving her and widened her eyes, turning to look back at him with guilt. “Please, please don’t tell me this was what you wanted to give me.”
He nodded proudly and puffed up his chest, ignoring her past insistence to stop buying her properties and gifts, along with patronizing her. Walking ahead, his eyes landed back on the flowers on her arms —Hange’s flowers— and ushered her inside the castle, paying no mind to her worries.
“This is my gift to you; I got it this morning. Do you like it?”
“It’s… unbelievable. Gorgeous, precious, but Levi… I asked you to stop this.” She wanted to keep explaining but instead quieted down. Sighing as they crossed over to the garden with olive trees and a natural pool.
“And I told you I won’t. Stop worrying about it.” He couldn’t understand why she seemed to be too preoccupied with it, and instead, sat down on the mattress on the floor, comfortably and opening a pomegranate.
“Levi..” she sat in front of him, looking rather disturbed and placed a hand over his, before a strange heat spread over her spine. “D-Do you know what… the others say?”
“Others? Which others?” Stopping, at her touch a wave of electricity ran through his body and quickly bit on the seed to shut down the feeling.
“The others… nymphs, minor gods like me.” Looking around, even if she knew they were alone, she pressed closer to whisper. “They say this gifts you give to me are… for an exchange.”
Levi’s body began to warm up, and thinking it was just the heat of the coast, he just adjusted his robe, even if the breeze was still cool enough, but on his body it felt too hot.
“They’re not an exchange, they are… an investment. Having properties and jewels, and a dragon it’s all a good strategy to heighten your power and influence.” He tried his best not to move, afraid she’d take her hand off.
“I have already told you I am not interested in those things.” Letting the flowers fall behind her, she forced herself to compose and ignore the warming up in her body. “Besides… oh, Zeus- They say you’re my sugar daddy! And that you’re using me for… pleasurable favors.”
Against his desires, she pulled back and looked down, embarrassed and troubled with insulting him and his own reputation. Ares was a name of strength and victory, and she was a minor goddess of nature and animals, nobody would reduce themselves for her. And yet, her words made him angry. She noticed how his cheeks tinted red and how his breathing accelerated.
“Forgive me, my lord. I don’t—"
He stood on his knees, quickly to ease the burdens and shame on her face without hesitation. His hand was tender on her cheek, and he rested his forehead over hers with calm and patience.
“Do not call me like that ever again, (y/n)” He did not know what was happening on his body, and he was thoroughly confused. But he knew one thing for sure: he adores her, and he needed to tell her now or he might combust. “Let everyone speak, I cannot care less about it, about them.”
She was surprised as delighted, her body melting against his muscles and strength, letting herself be guided by the god holding her body so lovingly.
“Levi…” The need between her legs was increasing, and it was as embarrassing as scary. But when he squeezed her closer, the hardening down his hips was impossible to hide with a light robe. Levi exhaled deeply, not worried or ashamed, but caught off guard by his own need for her. “Are you sure?”
“I’ve wanted you for so long. Just, please. Be mine.”
Without needing more convincing, she broke the distance with her lips. Arms wrapping on his neck and finally tasting the man she has been wanting for so long. The flowers Hange has gifted her began to dissipate without either of them noticing as he pushed them down, letting her lay on his body while his hands roamed down her sides. She was a beauty for sore eyes, and he wouldn’t let it end.
A giggle spread through the wind, malevolent. Part of a plan none of them knew was finally coming to the end that everyone was expecting, predicting.
“Levi, I’m burning for you.”
Her words made him grunt, his hands used to command battles and lead death were now busy undoing her clothes, unable to stop shaking under the craving need he had for her. He was inside her without warning a second later, and when he pulled out from their kiss, he let his eyes marvel on her body jolting on top of him.
“Look at you…” His lips caressed the skin of her neck, hands touching and rubbing below her body as the heat builds up, he wanted to taste every inch of hers.
When they came together, the breeze warmed up and the flowers shined deeper around. The sounds of the forest coming out louder as nature reacted to the love flowing in the air around them. Blessed on their own land of love and passion.
And up, at Olympus, nobody batted an eye when Hange laughed maniacally.
