Work Text:

It was the weekend, the show didn’t have any episodes planned, there were no meetings, and Terra and Petunia were away. So Eclipse was extremely bored. He was hanging out backstage, at this point he wished there was a meeting, sure he hates meetings but at least it’s something, he had nothing planned for today. Maybe he and Ruin could do something.

”RUIN!” Too late. Eclipse looked to the direction the scream came from and saw Rusty standing there. Eclipse let out a groan and walked towards Rusty.

”Rusty, why are you here?” He noticed Rusty was holding something.

”Oh, no reason I just want to… chat with Ruin.” Rusty hid the object behind his back.

”Well I’m pretty confident he doesn’t want to chat with you.” Eclipse crossed his arms, which seemed to annoy Rusty.

”Look Eclipse, I’m not here to hurt him I’m just here to apologize.”

”I hardly believe that since you’re currently hiding something behind your-“ Before Eclipse could finish talking Rusty hit him with a crowbar. The impact made Eclipse’s mask fall off and him almost fall. He touched the side of his head and saw oil. He straightened himself and looked down at Rusty.

“Now tell me where Ruin is.” Rusty held the crowbar with both his hands.

”No.” Rusty tried to hit him again but Eclipse caught the crowbar before it could hit him and threw it on the ground. Rusty backed up a little.

”Now Rusty I’m going to ask you to leave right now.” Rusty looked at Eclipse then gave him a smirk.

”No wonder the others don’t let you see those kids, could you imagine how’d they react to how pathetic you are right now-“ Eclipse grabbed Rusty by the throat and threw him to the ground. He crouched down over Rusty and started punching his face in. He kept punching and punching until his face was almost completely beaten.

“Please,” Rusty started. “Have mercy…” Eclipse looked to the crowbar and picked it up. He lifted it over his head to hit Rusty with it, but before so he started to smile a bit.

”This is for him.” He then brought the crowbar down on Rusty’s face. When he lifted it back up Rusty’s eyes were completely black and his face was beaten to the point it was unrecognizable. Eclipse dropped the crowbar and slowly got up. He looked down at Rusty then he looked at his hands. They were completely covered in oil. Eclipse slowly started to laugh a bit. His slight laugh turned into a louder laugh. He couldn’t believe it, he had killed Rusty. His laughter quieted down after a while and he slowly picked up his mask and put it on.His mask was cracked a bit but it was shattered. He turned to look at the body, he needed to move it while no one was in the studio. Eclipse picked up the body and teleported out back in the alley behind the studio. He placed Rusty’s body into the trash bin and closed it, then he sat down in front of it. He needed to regain some of his energy. While he was sitting he saw something jump down from the roof. Before he could see what it was all of a sudden he was lifted into the air and taken into a hug. Eclipse was so tired he couldn’t comprehend anything until he was set on the studios roof. He stood there for a few second trying to recover himself after the sudden movement.

”Oh I’m sorry Eclipse, I guess I should’ve been a bit less enthusiastic.” Eclipse threw his head in the direction of the voice to see Ruin standing there.

“Ruin? What are you doing at the studio?”

“Well I was bored and I always practice my flying at the studio so I was doing that and then when I was resting I saw you putting Rusty in the trash can.” Eclipse stood there for a good second thinking on what to say next.

”Uh I… umm” Before he could say an actual sentence he felt Ruin wrap his arms around him.

“You don’t need to say anything. That gator deserved it.” Eclipse slowly wrapped his arms around Ruin.

”Just don’t tell Gemini about this.” Ruin leaned back in laughter. Eclipse noticed the oil on his clothes from the oil on his arms. He slowly tried to let go of Ruin, to prevent more oil getting on him. Except Ruin grabbed Eclipse’s arm and moved it back to where it was.

”You think I care about a bit of oil on my clothes? You’re lucky I wore this and not my suit.” Ruin put his arm around Eclipse’s neck.

“I’m just worried it’s going to stain your clothes.” Ruin slowly inched closer to Eclipse.

”Again. It’s just a bit of oil it’s not that big of a deal.” Ruin lifted his hand to the side of Eclipse’s face and felt the oil leaking from the side of Eclipse’s face.

”Oh god, did he hurt you Eclipse?”

“It’s just a scratch, we can deal with it later,” Eclipse took one of his free arms and gently pushed Ruin’s face back towards his. “Why don’t we just live in the now.” Eclipse gave a slight smirk which made Ruin chuckle a little.

”Okay okay,” Ruin slowly grabbed Eclipse’s mask and took it off. “But we’re dealing with that later.” Ruin closed the gap between them. Eclipse tightened his arms around Ruin. Ruin wrapped his other arm around Eclipse’s neck with his mask still in his hand. The kiss lasted awhile but was cut off by the sound of the studios back door opening. The two let go of each other, and looked down the side of the building to see Gemini standing there on the phone.

“Why are they here?!” Eclipse whispered backing up from the edge of the building.

”I think they said something about checking up on storage today.” Ruin said while approaching Eclipse and giving him back his mask.

”They can’t see me covered in oil like this.” Eclipse started to freak out a bit and started to pace.

”Dear. You can teleport.” Eclipse shot his head up and grabbed Ruin by the shoulder and teleported them to his room. Eclipse slowly walked to his bed and sat down. Ruin followed him and brought out some bandages.

”You still carry those even though her performances aren’t that dangerous anymore?” Ruin slowly placed a bandage on the side of Eclipse’s head.

“Well you can never be too careful.” Ruin and Eclipse sat there in silence for a good few seconds. Before Ruin stood up.

”I think you need to change your shirt I mean it’s covered in oil.” Eclipse looked down at his shirt, it was some random t-shirt that he had to cut so his other arms would fit, it was completely covered in oil.

”Yea that’s smart.” Eclipse stood up and walked toward his closet. He opened it and looked for a shirt. He found another random t-shirt, he grabbed it and closed the closet.

”I’ll just turn away while you do that.”

”Ruin, we are robots.”

”I know it just feels like an invasion of privacy.” Eclipse shrugged as Ruin turned around. Eclipse slowly took off his shirt. Ruin was trying not to turn around until Eclipse said it was okay, but his curiosity got the best of him and he just glanced back. Seeing Eclipse without a shirt made Ruin’s rays spin which caused his hat to fall off.

“Shit!” Ruin quickly picked up his hat and turned back around. This made Eclipse chuckle slightly. Once Eclipse put his new shirt on he walked over to Ruin.

”So what was that about invasion of privacy?” Ruin looked at Eclipse with a mad look as he put his hat back on. Eclipse sat back on his bed.

”I’ll probably clean my hands once I know Gemini’s gone.” Ruin sat back next to Eclipse. Ruin felt drowsy.

”Dang what time is it?” Eclipse looked at his phone.

”Its 5:32” Ruin was shocked by what time it was.

”Well I guess I should head back to my apartment. Which reminds me one day I need to take you there.” Ruin slowly stood up and walked towards the door.

“See you tomorrow Eclipse.”

“Bye Ruin” Ruin waved and smiled then walked out of the room. Eclipse feel back on his bed with a smile on his face. Then he realized.

”Holy shit I killed Rusty.” What shocked Eclipse more was the fact that Ruin was okay with that. Maybe he was on such a high he didn’t realize how big of a deal this was. Eclipse started to stress a bit, but then he remembered how him and Ruin spent time together today. His smile came back.

“Eh that gator did have it coming.”
