Cookie Run: Alternate Timeline (The Flower King)

Summary:

Dark Enchantress Cookie has won. The ancients are no more. The Dark Flour War ended with the death of all five heroes, and had wiped out half the cookie population. But…this wasn’t supposed to happen. No…this wasn’t supposed to happen at all.
Timekeeper stared at this timeline, knowing they couldn’t change it without ruining every other time line. But maybe, just maybe, they could erase this timeline. Erase its existence. It would cease to exist, allowing for a new timeline to take its place. It was risky, but this win would surely cause a ripple through the other time lines. Timekeeper knew what they had to do.
It was just one timeline. One timeline to delete. Surely nothing would go catastrophically wrong.
Surely.

“Oops…”

Notes:

Hi guys! This is my first work for the cookie run fandom, so I decided to play it safe and not write about any canon characters out of pure fear (except for timekeeper but they're only gonna appear in the summary so). As always, English is not my first language, so please don't mind any grammatical errors and/or politely correct me in the comments (if you're mean I'm gonna send my carnivorous koalas to your exact location). This is going to be a multi-chapter fic, and as I have no experience writing something that is multiple chapters long, the update schedule might be uh. Strange.

This fic is the first out of my series. So far, the first five fics in this series will all be origin stories of the new heroes. Any after that will be all story and lore.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Soft, quiet, and peaceful. That’s how it usually was in the Green House, the only place in the Flower Kingdom that held its residents. Well, as few residents as there were. No one really knew why it was called a kingdom, with the amount of cookies present, it was more of a small city. Regardless, this kingdom/small city was preparing for a special event set to take place the next day.

Back at the Green House, hushed whispers echoed in the empty building, save for a few sleeping cookies. Three cookies were huddled in a corner surrounded by formal-looking scrolls in different piles.

“...and this one goes over here!” the youngest cookie said. “No not over there- over- over here!”

She placed another scroll on one of the piles.

“And what about this one?” Another cookie asked.

“That one goes over here…I think.” The third cookie replied while taking the scroll from her friend’s hands and placing it on a pile. The wrong pile, by the look of the youngest’s face.

“No no no! You’re doing this all wrong! These have to be perfect!” The cookie’s friends had to quickly hush her as her voice was slowly rising in volume.

“I’m sorry Fuchsia, but it’s hard to organize these scrolls if you don’t tell us where each one goes,” the purple-haired cookie said. “I mean, half of your explanations were just you talking about the ‘vibes’ of these scrolls…how are we supposed to know what each of the vibes are?”

“Begonia, I’ve told you this time and time again! The slightly green-ish ones go on THAT pile, the long ones go in THIS pile, and these are extras that go over HERE.” Fuchsia quickly explained, leaving her friends even more confused. “These are for the new king’s ceremony, there’s absolutely NO room for errors!”

“...that’s today?”

“LILY!”

Lily and Begonia slapped their hands over Fuchsia’s mouth. Fuchsia’s jewelry jingled slightly at the sudden movements, but she quickly recovered and continued sorting through the scrolls.

Suddenly, Begonia perked up. “Oh! I think I get it now! This one goes over here…and this one goes over…here!” Fuchsia smiled warmly at her friend.

“Finally you understand it!”

“Everything alright here ladies?” A deep voice cut through their conversations.

“Professor Carnation!” Lily stood faster than intended, accidentally knocking over a pile of scrolls (much to Fuchsia’s dismay). “Good afternoon, sir. What brings you here?”

“Afternoon, Fringe Lily. I’ve just come to check up on your progress with those invitations. And to remind you that those invitations need to be handed out to everyone in…” Professor Carnation checked the analog clock on the wall. “1 hour and 27 minutes.” He looked back at the other two cookies still on the floor, looking at Fringe Lily's mess in despair. The one piled that collapsed took the other two down with it. "Our hard work..." Begonia whispered in utter defeat.

Fuchsia turned a ghostly shade of white, purple, and then white again in rapid succession, looking at the invitations all scattered about the floor. “O-of course sir! We could never forget!” Fuchsia stood up, grinning with all too much force. “Actually, we were just finishing up, and we really can’t handle any more distractions so I think it’s time for you to go ok BYE!” Fuchsia pushed their professor out of the Green House

“Actually, Pink Fuchsia, I-” She slammed the door in his face and rushed back to her spot on the floor.

“Okay, new plan. Just put everything in whatever pile!”

– – –

"Well, I think that's all of them!" Pink Fuchsia stood up, putting her hands on her hips, eyes glimmering with pride.

"Just in time too!" Begonia pointed at the clock, which showed 3 minutes until the invitations had to be delivered. Any minute now, the mailman would come to the Green House to collect the scrolls. The three of them laid back, looking at the sky through the leaves that made up the dome ceiling of the building. The sky had turned a lovely shade of pink that matched Fuchsia's dress, and she made sure to let her friends know. Time went quicker than any of them expected, however, as a soft knock echoed through the rooms. Fringe Lily stood to get the door while the other two hurried to pick up all of the invitations off the floor. A young cookie holding an empty picnic basket greeted them at the door.

"Just in time, Primrose!" Pink Fuchsia said. "Fresh invitations, just for you!" She dropped the pile of papers in the basket without warning, startling Primrose before he could even get a greeting in.

"Ah, thank-thank you, Fuchsia," The mailman replied, fixing his hat. "But is this all?...this certainly is not enough for everyone-" He was cut off by Fuchsia's eye twitch and her friends' silently telling him to drop the subject. "Never mind! Have a lovely day, ladies!" Primrose tipped his hat and started his journey to the other buildings.

"Well, I'm tired now," Fuchsia said, already headed towards the sleeping quarters. "Catch you guys later!" Her sentence was punctuated by the sound of a heavy door slamming. Lily sighed and looked at Begonia.

"I'm heading off for bed too, goodnight?"

Begonia nodded at her, too tired to even speak.

They had a long day ahead of them tomorrow, they may as well get as much sleep as they could.

Notes:

I want a quesadilla (I wrote both of these notes after a goth-themed banquet at 10pm I'm so tired).

Hi guys! Writing this part at a reasonable time in the day like a responsible person. Anyway, I already mentioned how I'm not great with writing longer stories, so if anyone has any tips on how I could improve with multi-chapter fics, that would be lovely! I hope you enjoyed reading, and please be patient for future updates! Exams are coming up so I may or may not have extra time on my hands these next few weeks, but only time will tell!
