Chapter Text
It was embarrassing, mostly. You could handle most days with this stupid curse, the music wasn't always that bothersome. Some days, it was worse, there would be random tense music out of no where while you were taking a test and everyone would know that you struggled on it. If you went out on a nice walk, you were always nervous that something would happen and tense music would start playing, often times though, the kids around you were just mad. Mainly because they knew that you would probably turn out to be a nobody in the end because those that had music were destined for something great, you lost a few friends every now and again because of it since they were pissed off enough and went off on their own in hopes of becoming someone. Your entire childhood you tossed around ideas of what you wanted to do when you were older, maybe a police officer, maybe a sidekick to some pro you idealized with your heart and soul, fantasize about going pro one day. It was no wonder what you wanted when you applied for UA, hoping to get in and get some training, and hey, if it didn't work out you could still go the cop route and if it did go your way, you'd still have three years to figure out if you wanted to be your own hero or sidekick, and even then that wasn't set in stone.
The written test went well enough, no disturbances the whole time which was a miracle in and of itself since you were so stressed. And then the physical test came, and you nearly cried on the spot when loud, blaring, music started playing in the middle of Present Mic announcing the task at hand. It was so sudden that you were sure a few of the more nervous kids around you pissed themselves a little and others groaned in response. It did relieved you however, when you noticed that it wasn't you that caused it. A few rows down in front of you, a young boy with bright green hair stood and started to apologize, the embarrassment from him made the music shift to something quieter, and bouncy, it nearly made you laugh seeing the only other person that shared the same fate as you. The kids around him nearly strangled him on the spot once he sat back down and you were hoping to anything and everything that the same didn't happen to you.
Once everything was done, you walked into the testing area, standing off on your own and hoping that no one came up to bother you so you could focus on not having a heart attack based on how hard it was hammering in your chest. The alarms blared and the test started, your legs started moving on their own and you broke through the front lines, turning off down some street you spotted last second and made your way through side roads, trying to avoid the main streets for the moment in the event that everyone was gathered there. You were so focused you didn't even notice the obviously loud suspense music following you like an audio lure, drawing most of the stray robots off their paths and straight to you, which did give you a fair amount of points until the large bot came out and a young boy tripped trying to get out of it's path and got trapped under some large chunk of metal some demolished bot as it was flung towards him. You had him pulled free and in your arms before he could even call out for assistance.
