RUN, RABBIT, RUN!

Summary:

Right as you were about to start walking again, you heard a few branches snap. Your heart felt like it was about to beat right out of your chest, all of the progress you made in order to calm down was gone. You wanted to start running again, but were frozen in fear.

A few seconds later, a sharp pain made you scream out and collapse into the snow. The back of your knee had been hit with one of HABITS knives. You didn’t have any time to think, you quickly took the knife out of your flesh and tried standing up. Blood was gushing out, down your leg and pooling around you in the snow. You held the knife pointing outwards with both of your hands as you stumbled back with a limp. Tears began to flood down your face, from both the fear, pain, and paralyzing cold.

Notes:

Title inspired by "Run Rabbit Run - From "House Of 1000 Corpses" Soundtrack" by Rob Zombie.

HABITS dialog is in all caps, no he isn't yelling the whole time; unless you want him to be, I guess.

Also it might be better to read this as an entire work, enjoy!

Chapter Text

HABIT had essentially been forcing you to work for him since everything started. He was forcing you to clean up all his messes and assist him in whatever ways he saw fit, most of which made you sick to your stomach. You didn’t want to think about it outside of when you were forced to do it.

Recently you had found some courage and confidence and expressed to him that you wanted to leave and stop being his servant. That went just about as well as you can imagine. HABIT spent what felt like the majority of the night cutting and stabbing at you, making you cry in a pool of your own blood while forcing you to apologize and “BE A GOOD LITTLE RABBIT”.

You weren’t sure what was worse, the fact that HABIT would torture someone who he saw as useful, or the fact that you slightly enjoyed the torture and enjoyed being forced to bandage your own wounds while he watched with a sick grin on his face.

The morning after, you were woken up early by HABIT, who decided to begin lightly tracing out random patterns with a knife on your outer thigh. Not with enough pressure to cut, but enough pressure so you could feel it. He was still covered in your blood from the night before.

You flinched upon waking up and realizing what he was doing. “I WONT HURT’YA…” he spoke in a low and gravely tone, one that almost reminded you of Evan, though he hadn’t been present in a long long time… Your body involuntarily calmed down, you kept telling yourself that all his manipulation and conditioning didn’t work on you, even though in the back of your mind you knew damn well you were wrong.

“What do you want?...” Your voice trailed off as you sat up, your blanket loosely covered your knees and everything below. You stared at HABIT with an uneasy look on your face, obvious that you were a bit scared and mostly upset about being woken up so early.

“GET DRESSED, MAYBE SOMETHIN’ WARM, WE’RE GOIN’ OUT T’DAY.” HABIT pressed down on a stab wound on your thigh from last night as he got up, earning a slight wince out of you. “FIFTEEN MINUTES AND YOU’LL BE DOWNSTAIRS, HURRY UP” there was no question, he had something planned today and you were accompanying him whether you wanted to or not. You didn’t seem to get a break even when it was nearly winter, today was the first snowfall of the year. It should just be a light powder, but still cold.

HABIT slammed your door shut before you could even respond. You quickly checked all of your bandages to make sure they weren’t bloody, you didn’t feel like changing them so early in the morning. Thankfully, they were fine.

You begrudgingly got up and got dressed in something you deemed suitable for movement and the weather outside.

You met HABIT downstairs, he held a blindfold and some rope, along with his usual utility belt of knives. “What's all that for?” you asked quietly, still being tired from the exhaustion from the night before, and hardly getting any proper sleep. “WE’RE GONNA PLAY A GAME TODAY, DOESN’T THAT SOUND FUN?” He smiled in a sick and sadistic way, it made you feel uneasy and honestly scared, you didn’t want to get hurt any more. “TURN AROUND” You didn’t outright question him, you immediately turned around and away from HABIT, just waiting for the next order. “GOOD…” he muttered as he gently wrapped and tied the blindfold around your eyes.

You could feel his eyes lingering over you, you still made no effort to move, assuming things worse than the night before would happen to you if you tried to flee. HABIT roughly grabbed your wrist and led you out the front door “LET’S GO” you felt like you were going to fall forward from how fast he was walking.

After a moment, you two arrived at a car. HABIT threw you onto the back seat, causing you to grunt before he began shoving you around to lay you on your stomach as he tied your arms up around your back, and tied your knees together. “Wh-what the hell are you doing?!” you shouted at him, starting to be just a little more scared and sick of not knowing what was going on. He quickly shushed you before putting a knife to your throat “I TOLD YOU, WE’RE PLAYING A GAME, BE A GOOD FUCKIN’ BUNNY AND STAY STILL” you flinched and nodded, not willing to test any part of his paitence today.

As he pulled his knife away, he made a small warning cut to your throat. Nothing dangerous, all it did was sting a little, but it was enough to get a gasp out of you and tell you that he would do a lot worse to you if he wanted. Instead of sitting you up and buckling a seatbelt for you, he rolled you over off the seats, and sat you up so you’re leaning against the door behind the driver's seat. “CAN’T HAVE ANY COPS SEEIN’ YA, GET COMFY, IT’S A LONG DRIVE.”

You let out a frustrated and shaky sigh. You wanted to figure out a way out of these ropes, HABIT had tied them way too tight for you to just wiggle out of, and you wouldn’t be able to get the blindfold off unless you rapidly thrashed your head around. Which wasn’t only a stupid idea, but it would probably also get you hurt in the process. So you just dealt with it and decided to “trust” HABIT to the best of your ability.

You felt the car start up and begin to leave the driveway. You also felt yourself starting to cry, you weren’t sure if it was out of frustration or fear, or, maybe a big mix of both. A small sob escaped your mouth, you wanted to keep quiet and stay at least somewhat obedient as to not piss off HABIT. You felt a small bit of relief when he turned the radio on, whatever song was playing, you didn’t recognize it.

It didn’t really matter though, you fell asleep quickly, Despite your discomfort and generally shitty situation, you felt more exhausted than ever. You slept through the majority of the car ride, only waking up when the ride got unbearably bumpy or whenever HABIT started to sing along horribly to whatever shitty songs were on the radio. You were decently sure he only did that to piss you off.
