“My, my… You seem to have arrived at a less-than-favorable result.”
All of a sudden, you find yourself back in the void where you had started. The shock of going from that colourful, stimulating environment to this isolated bubble of nothingness is like having your head dunked in ice cold water, and it takes you a moment to register what he has just said.
Ah, yes. The young psychic apprentice had died. You had to admit, you were taken aback by the poor girl’s death. Nothing had seemed out of the ordinary; she had even been accompanied back home by her friend, Yakko, with no sign of being followed by anyone.
What happened…?
“This is mere conjecture on my part, but…”
The Storyteller begins speaking, as if he had sensed your uncertainty. “Perhaps there was a sign of something awry during the night Yakko Sakazaki found her friend, and it simply went unnoticed?”
Awry? Surely not! You swear everything had been fine…
