Chapter Text

It was like his life was finally back on track because only good news reach him.

Yoongi receives a nameless sponsor, meaning that he could fully pay back Park Sihyuk and remove the constraints the old man had on him.

Hopeworld and Promise receive Taemin and Chanyeol’s backing, boosting them into the much needed limelight to be safely out of Park Sihyuk’s reach.

Jihyun was safe as long as he worked in the Jeon’s hotel. Park Sihyuk wouldn’t dare risk offending the Jeon’s unnecessarily.

Suddenly, everything Jimin was worried about was resolved just like that, all too easily.

The noose around his neck vanishes just like that.

It’s all too sudden.

He’s not dumb enough not to know Jungkook probably had a play in that, he just wanted to know how he knew.

Taemin is his first target, the idol easily giving in after some nagging.

“He bowed and promised me a year of contract as their brand ambassador.” Taemin laughs breezily. “Can’t believe the high and mighty ex-Jeon heir would’ve done that. He didn’t have to go that far because you and Hoseok are amazing but he said if it was for you, he’d do it anyway.”

Jimin’s heart clenches at that.

He doesn’t know if it’s from hearing that Jungkook had bowed for his sake or if it was hearing the idol refer to Jungkook like that.

For all his wrongs, for everything Jungkook has done to him, Jimin can feel the sincerity of Jungkook truly trying to make things better.

This isn’t new news, it just makes things concrete, pushing Jimin to face the undeniable truth.

So when he finds himself at Jungkook’s doorstep, he’s not surprised.

Jungkook pulls open the door, the confusion and surprise in his doe eyes. “Not that this isn’t a welcoming surprise but—”

He cuts Jungkook off, slanting his lips over Jungkook’s in a messy kiss.

The surprise and shock that has Jungkook frozen in his spot melts away all too quickly.

Smoothly, Jungkook maneuvers them into the apartment, Jimin’s back hitting the wall just as the door slams shut behind them.

One arm presses Jimin into him possessively and Jimin shudders, feeling every inch of skin burning hot at Jungkook’s touch. The other arm cups his cheek, locking him in place, not that Jimin had any intentions of fleeing.

With a pained grunt, Jungkook pulls away panting heavily.

“Are you sure?” The words are breathed against his skin.

He swipes his tongue over his lips, preening as Jungkook’s gaze follow the movement with rapt attention.

“Do you love me?” He asks in response.

“Yes.” There’s no hesitation when Jungkook answers. “I love you.”

Jungkook brushes his knuckles gently against his cheek, eyes tender as he looks at him.

His heart thuds painfully in his chest. Jungkook’s matching his, heart beating erratically under the palm of his hand.

He titters when Jungkook’s thumb presses on his bottom lip.

“And you?” Jungkook’s voice is low with want.

Jimin shivers, all too weak to Jungkook.

The intensity pierces through him and Jimin feels his knees buckle.

Through the thin white shirt Jungkook had been wearing, Jimin feels Jungkook’s muscles flexing as he holds them upright.

“Speechless, my love?” Jungkook asks. Behind the haze of everything Jungkook, paired with the well practiced teasing smirk gracing Jungkook’s face, Jimin almost misses the vulnerability behind it.

Even on tv, renouncing his rights as the Jeon’s successor, he hadn’t looked so defenseless.

But now, standing in front of him, Jungkook looked so uncertain behind that mask.

It’s then does he finally realize, he’s never said he’s loved Jungkook.

Not with those 3 words.

“I do.” In that moment, the urgency, the relief and the yearning catches up to him. “I love you too, Jungkook-ah.”

Just like that, Jungkook snaps.

Jimin is hefted off his feet, pressed against the wall as Jungkook practically devours him. He grips onto Jungkook’s shoulders, nails digging into skin as Jungkook’s tongue finds its way into his mouth, tongue swiping into his mouth until all he can taste is Jungkook.

He tasted too much like love and redemption.

Jungkook’s hands roam down his body, fingers feathering and scratching gently over his skin. His large hand digs into the meat of his ass just as he swallows another of Jimin’s moans.

Like putty, Jimin becomes boneless from Jungkook’s touch, allowing him to mold him however he wants to.

He feels the groan rumbling from Jungkook’s chest as he wriggles in Jungkook’s arms.

“What is it, baby?” Jungkook asks raggedly, pulling away only long enough for the question to leave his lips before he’s latching his mouth to Jimin’s neck.

He mewls, weak to Jungkook’s ministrations.

It’s part impulsiveness, part desire rushing through his veins.

“Jungkook-ah.” It becomes a plea. “Not here.”

“Fuck.” The haze in Jungkook’s eyes clear up a little but he doesn’t let go of him. Instead Jungkook just carries him to the bedroom. “I got you, baby.”

Jungkook settles on the edge of the bed, setting Jimin on his lap, strong arms still encircling his hips so that Jimin’s only option is to remain in his position straddling Jungkook.

“Is here okay, Jimin-ah?” Jungkook mouths at his neck, pulling out moans out of Jimin all too easily.

He nods, surrenders everything to Jeon Jungkook and those are the only words he knows for the next few hours when he’s spread out on the bed.

When he wakes up to a warmth around his bare waist and long legs draped over his hip, he aches deliciously everywhere. There’s not enough time for him to have any regrets when the muscular arm drags him closer and Jungkook is pressing kisses to the top of his head.

“Morning.” Jungkook says huskily, eyes flickering open prettily.

Jimin allows himself to indulge in the warmth.

“Morning.” He whispers back as he nestles closer, hands touching defined muscles he couldn’t properly worship in last night’s urgency.

Jungkook just smiles fondly at him, allowing him to do whatever he wanted.

They stay like that a little longer, enjoying the peace and quiet that was just theirs for now.

“What changed?” Jungkook asks, just as Jimin drops his hand from wandering over Jungkook’s skin.

That was one loaded question.

Jimin bites down on his bottom lip, hesitant to say the words on the tip of his tongue but they were trying honesty and it meant Jimin too.

“You.” Jimin shrugs as best as he can lying sideways. “And me.” Jungkook’s brows  knit in confusion so Jimin keeps talking. “I missed you. I didn’t want to miss a second chance of us when it’s right in front of me. Even if we didn’t have the happiest times in the beginning, you made it so easy to carve yourself a place in my life.”

Jungkook smiles at him softly, eyes crinkly in pure happiness but he stays quiet, knowing Jimin had more to say.

Jimin fiddles with Jungkook’s hand resting between before he continues.

“I was too wrapped up in hurt to notice reality. I forgot I wasn’t the only one hurting. We were both thrown into a situation that neither of us willingly walked into. Even if I had more ‘right’ reasons, it didn’t mean I get an out of jail free card.”

“No.” Jungkook cuts in abruptly, sitting up. “Your hand was forced. You do get to blame me. I did it for me while you did it for the ones you treasure.” Jimin sits up as well, feeling that whatever Jungkook was about to say would need him to pay attention carefully. “I treated you unfairly and was a complete asshole. I put the blame all on you just because I didn’t want to admit I was the one at fault. You deserve the right to hate me.”

It was a little distracting trying to listen to Jungkook with so much on display.

He reaches behind him blindly and throws the blanket at him.

Jungkook drapes it lazily over his lap, a small smile teasing his lips even in the serious situation.

“I never hated you.” Jimin shrugs again. “I just stopped trying to beg for love. I wanted someone to fight for me.”

“I will.” At that, Jungkook’s gaze meets his. “I will do whatever it takes to fight for you.”

That, Jimin understoods.

It took a while but he finally understands Jungkook’s sincerity.

He finally believes.

When Jungkook bowed to Taemin and Chanyeol, he didn’t lose.

He won a chance for them, to do whatever in his ability for another chance of ‘us’.

“I wanted to be someone like that to you. Someone you would trust to fight for you, someone you would trust wholeheartedly no matter the situation.”

The intensity has him melting.

It makes him feel giddy, as if he was back in high school falling in love for the first time all over again.

“When did you realize you loved me?” He asks, needing to know.

Their relationship had always been blurred lines and hasty decisions.

Just a little more direction, a little more reassurance and he hopes this would last a lifetime.
