Summary:

Lisa finds out about MyDrugs, Lenny and Moritz fight and Moritz's mental health starts declining. If that wasn't enough, he has an identity crisis too.

I'm extremely bad at summaries so I'll probably edit this sooner or later.

Chapter 1: Sweater Weather

Chapter Text

Mo was staying up late again, trying to make sense of everything. Lisa found out about MyDrugs, and she was so disappointed. He also had a falling out with Lenny because Lisa found out about their business. So basically, the only person he could talk to like a normal person was Dan, even if they weren’t exactly the best of friends. It was getting better, but he still felt judged by him because they were incredibly different. Dan liked working out and was confident in himself, while Moritz spent his days holed up in his room, surfing the internet. Opposites and yet they spent most of their time in each other’s company, not saying a single word.

Then the war broke out. There was a new dealing website out on the internet. Moritz assumed that Lenny and Kira made it together. They were successful, being called the "MyDrugs 2.0" it infuriated Moritz. He set up a meeting with Dan, to talk about the matter. It was strange talking to Dan this intensely. He never imagined he would do something like this, but here we are.

"I think Lenny started up a drug business, using MyDrugs's code." Moritz started, Daniel sitting down on his bed. He didn’t like having the other in his room like this, it feeling too personal. "You think? Doesn’t sound like you’re very confident about it." Dan said, lying down on his bed. Moritz was starting to really dislike this. "Listen okay, we fought so we're not exactly friends anymore, so I can’t just walk up to him and ask him. Friendship isn’t that easy. Besides, my dad is still up on my ass about that whole thing with Buba." He managed to say with one breath. Dan probably sensed how anxious he was. "Dude dude, first off, slow down. We’re gonna get to the bottom of this and maybe even convince them to join in." Daniel said trying to sound comforting but miserably failing. "Them? What do you mean?" Moritz said with a small furrow in his brow, finally sitting down on his chair instead of standing in the middle of the room like an idiot.

"Kira and Lenny. They definitely made it together and honestly, they’re a good team. We just have to prove were an even better team." Dan said, probably not even completely realising what he said because seconds after he finished talking his face turned a shade redder. Moritz grimaced at the thought of having to actually be friends with Dan, or even worse, become close to him. That’s when he had an idea. "What if we bring in Lisa? I know you’ve said no like a hundred times, but I actually get along with her." Moritz said. He probably didn’t even want to be that insensitive, but Dan still had a sad and frustrated look plastered across his face.

"I care about Lisa, so I’m going to have to shoot your ambitions down once again." he said more serious again. In that exact moment Moritz’s father knocked at the door, inviting the both of them to dinner. They both stood up and walked towards the table. It was slightly awkward to be eating with Daniel, his father also shooting a thousand questions at him. As soon as his father mentioned it was getting late, he was already ready to what was about to come. Daniel is definitely going to sleep over at his place today.

Moritz wasn’t very happy about that, but he had to accept it. His dad set up a mattress for Dan to sleep on, right next to Mos bed. His room was tiny, so he felt slightly bad about having to squish Dan in here, but then he remembered he was Dan and stopped feeling bad.

He couldn’t sleep that night. He was extremely hot all over his body and he kept sweating. He was sure his bed was basically just made out of his sweat at this point. Every time he looked at Dan sleeping peacefully, it got even worse. He also felt sick, incredibly sick. In the middle of the night, he blindly decided hed try to stand up, maybe go take a shower or go outside. But as soon as he stood up, he was back on the bed again. He felt extremely weak and pathetic and didn’t know what to do. He tried to sleep but couldn’t. After a few more hours of just pain and slipping in-between consciousness and unconsciousness the boy sleeping on the ground finally woke up.

Dan figured the other was already awake and asked: "How’d you sleep?" with a deep morning voice. The other couldn’t force out any other reply than a very strained "shit". Dan noticed the exhaustion in his voice and sat up. "Dude, you okay?" he asked, this time not getting any reply. The room was cold since the window had been open the whole night. Dan stood up and saw the mess that was Moritz. His blanket lay abandoned on the ground, his pillows were pushed to the edge of the bed and his skin was burning to the touch. "I think you have a fever" Dan pointed out quickly, to which Moritz answered with a simple nod. "Can you stand up?" Dan asked, standing up himself. It didn’t look like Moritz was willing to move a single inch.

"Can I take off your shirt?" Daniel asked before touching his lower abdomen. He could hear the concern in his voice. He didn’t want him to be concerned, but it made sense that he was. He looked like shit. He felt like shit too. He answered with a simple nod and closed his eyes. He felt Dans hands brush against his body a few times while taking off his shirt. "No wonder you’re so hot, when you sleep in a t-shirt." Dan chuckled and put his t-shirt away. "Should I get you any medicine?" Dan asked, not even waiting for an answer before standing up and heading towards his bathroom.

He didn’t find much in the bathroom, or at least much that could help Moritz. He found a towel that he wetted with cold water and went back to Mo. He put the towel on his forehead. "Do you have any bigger t-shirts? I’m starting to get a little bit cold over here." Dan asked while sitting on the edge of Mos bed, which Moritz absolutely hated. He wasn’t even going to talk about his strong lavender scent, that didn’t wear off since yesterday. He wondered where he got that kind of strong perfume from, or maybe it was just the scent of him without perfume? He let his mind wander, completely forgetting about Dans question, and not realising he was also staring. "What?" Dan smiled and looked at Moritz. He quickly looked away. He still felt extremely weak, and also extremely naked next to the other boy. Which was weird, since he was his employee. Dan was also suddenly caring for Moritz. It felt too close, too intimate. He didn’t like any of this.

Suddenly his father called them to breakfast, but Dan pushed him back on the bed and stood up by himself. The spot which Dan touched burned, and he felt hot all over his body once again. Before he could even realise anything, Dan brought him a toast on a plate and cold milk, along with his dad. He felt even more embarrassed to be seen by his father, in a state like this. He really was pathetic.

His fever started slowly getting better. Luckily, it was Saturday so there was no school. Dan still stayed. They actually started talking about stuff that wasn’t drugs now, which felt even more out of place. In the evening, when Dan finally went home, he could rest normally. He wasn’t feeling that weak anymore and he could stand up by himself and concentrate on things. He still felt hot and his skin burned, but he felt better than he did before.

The weekend was over, and he had to go back to school. He felt pretty much fine now, but he was still confused about his weekend. He didn’t know what to think of it, so he just tried not to think about it. It did start feeling like he was an actual acquaintance to him. He tried pushing that thought as far back into his mind as possible.

He got on his bike and started getting ready to go to school. His way to school was short, and he arrived there quickly. Immediately, he saw a certain blonde in his proximity. He tried walking a different way, but the other boy noticed him, and waved towards him excitedly. He started getting embarrassed by the way Dan was acting and silently came over to him.

"Could you maybe not do that?" the smaller boy asked annoyed to which the other simply laughed. Together, they walked to their class silently, taking seats next to each other once they arrived. He could feel Lenny's eyes studying him, drilling into him. At lunch, Dan and Moritz sat next to each other, this time joined by Lisa. Lunch was awkward, they didn’t have much to talk about and Dan had to stop Moritz from offering Lisa a position in their business. Moritz thought he cared too much.
