The Basics
What is the WinterIron Spring Fling?

 

 

The WinterIron Spring Fling is a Bucky/Tony gift exchange in which participants create and receive WinterIron fanworks.

Sign-ups are open from March 13th to April 10th, and all you have to do to enter is fill out the sign-up form you can find in the menu on the left. Once the sign-up period is over, you will receive an official email from AO3 with all the information, likes, and dislikes of your giftee. Please don’t tell your giftee who you are yet, we want that to be a surprise.

You then have until the end of May to work on the gift for your giftee. There will be one mandatory email check-in along the way (May 1st to May 3rd). If you fail to check in during that time, you will be disqualified. Should you need to drop out for any reason, please let us know ([email protected]) as soon as possible.

Posting
When and how?

 

We won’t be assigning fixed posting times. All works need to be posted between May 7th (the day after the check-in ends), and May 31st at the latest.

Starting on June 1st, works will be revealed to all the participants.

 

Pinch Hitters
Our Lords and Saviors

 

Pinch hitters fill in for people who have to drop out or have been disqualified, and do not receive a gift of their own in return. If someone drops out/is disqualified, an email will be sent out to all pinch hitters. Assignments will be given out on a first come, first served basis.

Betas / Specialists
WinterIron Fandom’s Got Talent

 

Using a beta isn’t mandatory for this exchange, but it is encouraged.

Specialists are people who want to offer their skills (a foreign language, knowledge of photo editing programs etc.) to help the participants with their gifts.

If you don’t already have a regular beta, or if you’d like to work with a specialist, check out our list.

To be put on the beta/specialist list, please send us an Ask, or contact us by email at [email protected]. After signing up, betas and specialists are free to choose which assignments (if any) they want to accept.

Creativity! Creativity everywhere!

 

 

We encourage creativity, and want as many people as possible to be able to participate. If you have an idea for a gift that isn’t on the list, don’t hesitate to contact us; we’ll figure something out together.

Allowed types of works:

  • Fanart
  • Gif/Picture Sets
  • Photo Edits
  • Fanvideos
  • Fanmixes

Please keep in mind that this is supposed to be a relatively small exchange, and that writing a whole novel or drawing an entire comic won’t necessarily mean you get as much in return.

Content suggestions:

  • Fanfiction: 1000 to 2500 words
  • Fanart: 1 piece of art
  • Gif/Picture Sets: 4 to 6 gifs/pictures
  • Photo Edits: 1 edit
  • Fanvideos: 30 to 90 seconds
  • Fanmixes: 5 to 10 songs

Check-In
Hello? It’s us. We were wondering if after all these weeks…

 

 

The check-in is mandatory for all participants. People who fail to check in will automatically be disqualified. The check-in needs to be completed until 11:59 PM UTC on May 3rd.

When signing up, you will be asked to provide an email address. This is where we will contact you for the check-in; you will have to answer that email, and send us the rough draft of your gift to successfully complete the check-in.
