the florida weather wasn’t something franziska was a fan of, but maya had asked her to accompany her on a trip to disney world, and how could she say no? she had never been to any disney park but enjoyed watching the movies and shows maya had introduced her to since they started dating.
for whatever reason, maya decided to take them to the epcot park on their first day. franziska hadn't researched anything about the attractions beforehand, wanting to be surprised instead. she hadn't known they were visiting the park during one of its many festivals, but upon arrival she saw a sign indicating they were holding a flower and garden festival until july. she hadn't realized maya was holding her hand and leading her toward the germany pavilion until they stood in front of a topiary display.
"what are we doing here?" franziska asked, "and why am i looking at a... is it snow white?"
"it's the germany pavilion!" maya exclaimed, "i figured you were feeling a little homesick."
"so you arranged this whole trip because you noticed i was homesick for germany... instead of actually going to germany?"
"well, i wanted to see the festival! and it's easier to fly to florida than it is germany, at least i think it is."
"what exactly is this place?"
"the world showcase- it has a bunch of different countries in one area. i think it's supposed to give off an authentic vibe of actually being there, but i'm not sure since i've never really been here before."
"maya fey, you really know how to make a girl smile."
"what did i do?"
franziska brought them to a less congested area and looked around at the scenery. it was reminding her of being home, which made her a little happier.
"you brought me across the country just so i could feel better. you could've just bought some german candy or something, but this is so much nicer, even if it's a little tacky. that little gremlin thing over there looks cute, though."
"gremlin? fran, that's a dwarf. don't you remember? there were seven of them in the movie!"
"i cannot claim to have a perfect knowledge of snow white characters."
"it doesn't matter. i'm just glad you're happy with my choice to come here."
maya smiled and leaned in to kiss franziska on the cheek, who shook her head and stifled a giggle.
"i would like to explore the rest of the festival, if that's alright."
"of course, that's the whole point! but first, we need food!" maya started pulling franziska toward one of the pavilion's food booths, eager to try something from germany's menu.
