The Steddie h-on-main (18+) Discord server is running a Prompt Event for the spring of 2023. This event is to celebrate and create new omegaverse content for the Stranger Things fandom. Steddie can be, but is not required to be, the pairing involved in the media prompted or produced.

This event is open to server members only. If you wish to participate in prompting and claiming, you will need to be 18+ and a member of the SHOM server. Please send an email to [email protected] if you wish to join and are not already a server member.

Q: Who can participate?
A: Individuals 18+ that are members of the SHOM server.

Q: How do I become a member of the server?
A: Two steps-- 1) be 18+ 2) send an email to [email protected] for a link to join the server.

Q: What kind of fanwork can I create?
A: Any fanfic or fanart that features omegaverse and fulfills the prompt you claimed.

Q: How many prompts can I submit?
A: AO3 caps out the number of prompts allowed per person at fifty, so fifty! (Hit the limit, I wanna see it😈)

Q: Can I submit a prompt anonymously?
A: While we would love to know who to credit for a delightful prompt, we do not require it.

Q: How many prompts can I claim?
A: As many as you would like! However, we ask that you complete your work for your current prompt before claiming another.

Q: Can more than one person claim the same prompt?
A: Yes :) Every time someone writes a story based off of an idea, the result will be different.

Q: Are there any limits on Ratings?
A: No, there are not. We are a horny bunch, and as a general rule of thumb, the hornier the better. Please mind prompt request specifics, of course.

Q: What counts as Omegaverse for this event?
A: Largely, we're leaving that up to you! Omegaverse or Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics is a trope that acts similar to a game of Fluxx. The rules can change story to story and at any time! We do ask that you are mindful of the specifics of the prompt claimed and take any specific worldbuilding requests into consideration (ie if a prompt requests mating/claiming bites please consider making this a part of your story and a part of how the world works in that story).

Q: How short/long does my fanfic need to be?
A: We are looking for a minimum 1000 word count, but there is no limit as long as the story is complete when submitted. If story is multi-chaptered, we asked that all chapters are posted by the due date.

Q: Can I include dark and/or triggering content?
A: Yes, but we do ask that you tag appropriately. If you have any questions on tagging, please reach out to a mod.

Q: What is the schedule for this event?
- Prompting opens: February 4th, 12am EST
- Prompting closes: February 18th, 11:59PM EST
- Initial claiming opens: February 19th - February 24th
- Initial claiming ends: February 25th
- 1st check in: March 4th (email an idea of how you’ll fulfill the prompt)
- 2nd check in: March 18th (email an outline/partial draft of story)
- 3rd check: April 1st (email rough draft of story, mostly complete)
- Submissions due date: April 15th, 11:59PM EST
- Reveals: April 17th 2023

Q: What are Check-Ins?
A: Check-Ins are a tool for breaking down the event into manageable goals to help keep the event on schedule and prevent delays. These are intended to be soft goals to help you along your creativity journey, not strict deadlines.

There are three designated check-in points during this event:
1) Email or message mods with an idea of how you plan to fulfill the prompt you've claimed. This can be as simple as a sentence or two about your idea (March 4th).
2) Email or message mods with an outline or/and a draft of your story. Does not have to be polished or complete, just what you have thus far (March 18th).
3) Email or message mods a rough draft of your story. Ideally should be mostly complete (April 1st).

Check-in dates are based upon the initial claiming week. If you claim a prompt later or take on an additional prompt, another check-in system can be devised if requested.

Q: I still have questions. What do I do?
A: Send an ask in the server thread #SHOM Event: Spring Fever (omegaverse), send a message to an event mod in the server (Caitie or Swissh), or send an email to [email protected] :)

- Must be 18+ and a member of SHOM discord server.

- Content should primarily feature the show Stranger Things and its characters.

- As this is a prompt challenge, not a gift exchange, feel free to include/exclude things you would like to see from the answered prompt; but keep in mind strict adherence to the prompt request is not required at fulfillment.

- In the requests, if you're not using the anon feature, please include your discord server name as it often does not match the AO3 handle.

- If you choose to abbreviate the term 'Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics' please ensure you are writing it thusly: a/b/o. Without the slashes the abbreviation is a slur in Australia.

- The more description in the prompts, the better! Most of all, have fun you horndogs!
