This was the moment of no return. Ludwig unpaused the video and let the sound play out. Aiden was so quiet that someone in the next room wouldn’t hear a thing. But the state-of-the-art microphones installed in his walls heard everything. The two hitched breaths and the exhale that almost sounded like a moan.
He looked back at his screen. Aiden’s exhale dragged on, and yeah, it was a moan. And then he spoke. Just one word: Ludwig.
