      It may seem stupid to us, but it makes sense if you think about it from Chloe's point of view.

      She's not thinking straight because she just watched her ex-husband shoot her boyfriend. Plus, she doesn't actually know what would happen if she leaves while he's dying; she has no idea if he would die while she was gone. She also doesn't want to leave him alone with the Man who shot him and is in the middle of a panic attack.

      I don't think that leaving him ever occurs to her because she has more pressing thoughts in her mind. If I were in Chloe's situation, I don't think I would act any differently.

        I actually would think of it as it'd be one of the most important infos I'd have about my partner. And as soon as she leaves Dan can't hurt him anymore either.
        Chloe is supposed to be a clever detective used to stressful situations. I'd expect her to think of it when the EMTs arrive the latest. And not travel in the same ambulance as him.🤦‍♀️

          While I completely understand where you are coming from, I wrote Chloe in this way because it lets the plot advance. And, while you are probably correct, the way that the fic has Chloe act is possible, too.

          I feel like it would be pretty boring if Chloe left and BOOM Lucifer is okay... that would be too similar to cannon.
