Oh, this is happiness craved and given from canon. I love how closely it adhered to it with that one subtle deviation and that all the "villains" are given individual agendas. Even Shaw's a proper villain- egoistical and maniacal and just so very very selfish, which's his downfall, really. There's a tunnel-vision to the quality of his character that you really brought out and I think, is why Mystique's trick really works and why he never considered Piotr a threat. I love Charles as a man who remain's idealistic, uncompromising, and ultimately pragmatic at the same time and Erik..single-minded Erik, who's just so intensely *focused* on revenge and on Charles. I love the addition of Piotr, btw, which brings out Charles' compassion as well as how that compassion influences Erik. Argh, it's just such fic, characterwise.
And of course, the art- it's breathtaking. There's a sense of urgency and action in every frame that somehow belies the deceptive..softness...of the delicacy in which they're drawn. I love the contrast.
