I love this alot. It's a new take on the movie and it's a very possible one that I can see happening if Shaw was to know of Charles' existence and if he were to show up at the Russian general's compound. I love the inclusion of Piotr(as his mutation to be part of the anti-telepathy organic metal that was a very clever plot twist), as well as the glimpses of backstories of the other characters through Charles' telepathy. All those subtle inserts of how it should have been and how if they were really to meet with Shaw in Russia, Angel wouldn't have left, Darwin wouldn't have died etc. Taking only the lost of Charles to replace the movie canon plots that made the children to grow stronger and turn into adults. It was well rounded and wonderfully crafted, making a promising, plausible, alternate take of the movie. :')
Thank you! I found it interesting in rewatching the movie that Shaw was at the CIA base looking for Charles -- he only wound up trying to recruit the kids because Charles wasn't there. So I had to wonder what on earth he ever intended to do with Charles once he had him. Aaaand, fic. :) I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
