This is possibly a stupid question, but what height and width should the custom header have? The sizes we tried (height 75 px, 80 px, 85 px, 90 px) all got retiled pretty badly. I'm not familiar enough with coding to build a custom CSS from scratch to fix that.
There's no set size, but the best rule is to choose a large size and an image which will look good only partially revealed. For instance, the Yuletide header is 1800px x 1285px, which means that you only see the whole image if you have a massive screen and a very enlarged font size. The Archive has a liquid layout, so you'll have the nicest results if you pick something which either tiles well or squishes well, to account for it being seen on a lot of different screen sizes and browser configs.
