Comment on What's in a Hoard?

  1. Ah, I love it!

I've actually toyed with a somewhat similar idea, except loosely using 2/3e as a guideline; a very young Izuku is granted a boon by Bahamut (at least Bahamut considers it a boon, anyway) and is transformed into a (very young) silver dragon because... reasons. However, due to a deity attempting to reason on a relatively small, mortal scale, Inko, Toshinori, Chiyo and Ryukyu -- who were also involved in... reasons -- are affected by the boon as well, creating a small dragon clan. Antics such as accidentally broken furniture and difficulties using suddenly VERY fragile electronics, such as smartphones, ensue.

The main difference being that what Izuku and company are granted isn't a quirk; their species is literally changed, requiring them to master Alternate Form (and discover its limitations) in order to function in human society at all. Izuku goes on to claim that the dragon form is his quirk and becomes a hero by utilizing his physical prowess, breath weapons and spell-like abilities.

I considered throwing Tiamat in as a foil for Bahamut, but couldn't really find a place for her because I didn't want to encumber the story too much with D&D lore.
