Comment on Dangerous and Moving

  1. I respect the hell out of that. I'm just too interested in getting all the ladies that I couldn't control myself lol. I so wish you could find her again after her story was done.

    1. To be fair, the only love interest after I'd done Kyra's was Roxana and Odessa because I played backwards xD if they'd have written it into the game that she became the leader, that would have been believable.

      1. Kyra was towards the end for me and Odessa, Daphnae, and that old lady were first lol. I missed Roxana because I didn't feel like traveling and I didn't realize me paying my way through locked out the romance so that was my bad. I want to say it is a general consensus in the fandom that she would take over (as Ubisoft didn't follow the "men only" rule),

        1. Ah Daphnae, that was a good romance too. You're not wrong, Ubisoft did us proud there. Though I'm not sure how accurate it is historically but that's my ignorance of not having specifically learnt about female leadership in Greece xD

          1. Hers was so tragic as there was no real winning in her case (much more sever than Kyra's) and it broke my heart when I first played it. Odessa was a rushed romance and it felt so pressured like "hey your dad's dying, but wanna bang?" Daphnae though, hers brought me to tears the first time I did it. I made it a point to not finish that quest ever on my 2nd run. She was my favorite until I met Kyra and then, well, I left for blue seas.

Female leadership was almost non existent back then and they pretty much had a "seen but not heard" kind of role. They stayed at home and was the domesticated housewife before that became a coined term. Ubisoft is great with saying "we recognize history, but fuck that exclusion."

            1. You're so right, it's super forced unfortunately :/ and I know, Daphnae really broke me too, it was the saddest thing ever! But of Kyra is our favourite, it was genuinely the best one in the game.

See that makes sense that they'd modernise things like that. I remember learning about how progressive Sparta was with women, but of course, they left children to die on mountains soooo

              1. Hands down the best and the only one close is Daphnae, but her endings would need to change to become the top. I would rather them offer only like 3 lady options to romance if it meant getting more content for them instead of having like 6 or 7 and some real brief encounters.

I think it was back on Origins, but there was a walking tour that you could take and they showed a school with mixed kids and noted that girls were not permitted an education for accuracy's sake but that they were not going to show it as such because of how discriminatory it was. They take a similar approach with Odyssey in that Kassandra cam do anything Alexios could and nobody bats an eye at her gender. Historians actually have no proof that Spartans have ever done that. They have excavated the space below the mountain and have never found remains. They were quite progressive though and I dare say they had more rights for women than most modern countries.

                1. Holy cow, really? If there's no proof, why on Earth do we learn about it, and who would have made that up? That's so strange, but super interesting. You're not wrong, I have a feel when it comes to women, they definitely were.

Yeah, three good ones always tops five rushed ones and two good ones, definitely.

                  1. At least the "tossing children off a cliff" is a myth that Ubisoft created, the rest plays with some accuracy but they tweak real world people (Pythagoras, Sokrates, Perikles, etc) to fit into their narrative. Like every good story, there needs to be something that drives the protagonist and, in this case, it was being yeeted off a cliff lol.

Quality over quantity is always my motto, but by giving us more variety, they didn't have to work as hard so it was a way for them to coast through any character building.

                    1. "Quality over quantity" I love it xD my English teacher in year 11 loved that phrase, it's a classic!

And yeah that makes sense - just don't get why my History teacher taught it like it was something factual when it's just theorised/assumed. And being tossed off a cliff is definitely the best kind of motivation 😂

                      1. It's an oldie but goodie and it still stands true for just about everything. Your English teacher had good taste, another favorite of mine is "go big or go home."

I honestly don't think it was true because I definitely looked it up after I got more into the game and they say they've never found any evidence to support it and it was a creative decision. I like how they started the story and there's a lot of trauma there to unpack that lasts the whole story so it's a win in my book

                        1. You're just on fire with the mottos, it's fab!

I'm gonna write a strongly-worded letter to my teach now because I honestly thought it was true! But now I know it isn't, I wish even more that I was in Ancient Greece :( Ubisoft is good with the trauma, you gotta give it to 'em xD

                          1. I am to please 👏🏼👏🏼

It just goes to show that you cannot always believe the hype and as much as some may want it to be true (although it would be awful), it doesn't make it so. I would love to scope out Ancient Greece, but I would want Kassandra's world where women were not domesticated house slaves and baby machines. Otherwise I'd prefer to go back as a man so I could not be locked away indoors and having my potential squandered.

                            1. I'd drink to that (not that I need an excuse). Ubisoft's Ancient Greece is definitely more idealistic than realistic, so if absolutely join you in your adventure xD

                              1. Done and done! If I ever have the ability to defy all time, space, and logic, I will take us both to Odyssey's perception of Ancient Greece. What a wild time it would be if we went in knowing what we do now.

                                1. It'd be a race to Kassandra, let's be fair xD because if you can travel to Odyssey, then surely the characters would exist too 😂

                                  1. Well... actually... Kyra would be more my style so I think we would be able to amicably work this out. Kassandra is a goddess, don't get me wrong, but I'm a bit too "masculine" for her and I to be a fit and we both have very strong personalities. However, Kyra would be a perfect fit and even though she's strong willed, she handles it differently.

We could both be living the dream

                                    1. Ahh if only we could make this dream reality! I'm a femme, with only some masculine traits so I'd love to have Kassandra xD in a perfect world, am I right xD

                                      1. Guess we're going to have to settle for the real world :(

A shame we both can't become neighbors on Mykonos with our hot new wives (because, lbr, we'd put a ring on it asap) and live life at the beach.

                                        1. You and Kassandra with the spear fishing, me and Kyra with the watching the spear fishing - paradise 😂😂

                                          1. Think of the life skills I could learn by doing (or you via watching) Kassandra... possibilites are endless and I may just find myself with a new line of work. If anyone can make me a spear fisherman, it's Kassandra. You and Kyra can just lay back and get your tan on and enjoy the breeze
