I started reading Golden Kamuy a few weeks ago. I really liked the story and managed to refrain myself from reading it on the internet instead of buying the books and enjoying them. On last Sunday, I finally decided to stay "fuck it, I love it, I'll read everything and buy it later" and OH BOY IT'S HARD TO EXPLAIN HOW QUICK AND DEEP I FELL INTO THIS. So yeah, your fic is basically the first one I read in the fandom and even if I'm a Ogata Simp, I didn't miss him at all in this fic and I enjoyed the boys getting some action very much. It was kinda weird not to have capital letters after dots but the writing was amazing and very well paced ! Thank you for being my first Golden Kamuy fanfic, it's definitely one I will remember ! Take care of you and I hope that you'll write some more :P
I actually have only read a little bit of the manga before, but I've been rewatching the anime lately with a friend that I'm getting into it, and even with just the anime, I had such a similar experience of getting ravenously addicted until I finished all the episodes that were available. I'm even buying the manga volume by volume because I just know I'm going to love it even more once I begin reading... though I only have the first three books right now.
tbh, being an Ogata simp is also valid... I am glad it didn't come off like I was excluding him for unfairly biased reasons, I just think he'd take longer to warm up to anybody like that.
oh, but yes, the lack of capital letters is a bad habit of mine from becoming very casual when messaging... it's my writing style of least resistance, so to speak. and this was a very casual piece of writing for me, so I didn't really bother with certain things like that. 😅
anyway, I'm really happy that the pacing worked well for you, especially with this being your first fic of this fandom... I'm glad I was able to bring you in with something enjoyable!
