Hi! I am sure this is in the works but more documentation on skins would be great for new users and people with little to no CSS experience. For instance, what element of the page is the dashboard, and what is the header? Can elements display one way when viewing profiles, and another when viewing fic? What is a page that lists the fandoms/works/etc called if you want to modify it independently (if that is possible)? Just directing people to public skins page can be quite intimidating, despite lim's posting of her coding.
ETA: Sorry, just realised that the Version 2.0 on the skins page has much of the information in browseable form...just a little impenetrable for a CSS novice.
Yes, apologies - we are working on some more user-friendly docs.
In the meantime, as well as the code in Version 2.0 and the front end docs, the easiest way to find out what page elements are which is the Firefox plugin Web Developer. This has a setting that lets you click on any element of the page and it will show you exactly what CSS selectors belong to it - this will help you figure out what exactly it is you want to change.
Sorry it's taking us a while to get these improved docs out!
