    I’ve come back for a second read. And just wow, author, your writing is so beautiful I could really read all your different permutations of canon-adjacent hankcon until the end of time. Connor is so sweet here, just something about his characterization in this fic really gets to me. He’s fine on the surface, almost perfect, but truly believes he is deeply flawed and Hank just doesn’t get it here, I can really feel for him and his confusion about why Connor thinks so poorly of himself. Their interactions are so sweet and genuine, and I love that they were really a little bit in love from that first night. Their deep loneliness is portrayed beautifully here and that they find themselves compatible kinds of lonely, compatible kinds of fucked up (as Hank puts it) is just so poignant and moving. One of my absolute favorite fics. ❤️
